Guest Reviews
- K (10/5): - We stayed in a motel room. This was located in a separate, beautifully renovated homestead on the property. There were four rooms in this building and ours was lovely. All have access to the expansive, wisteria-covered verandah surrounding the 'house'.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was large, clean and tastefully decorated, with a warm comfortable bed. The staff was very helpful showing us the room, how the heater worked and providing us with suggestions about dinner and breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable beds with electric blankets.
Great location
- Jesse (10/5): Warm and cosy highly recommended! - Fantastic cosy and simple accommodation in the perfect spot. Will definitely be staying again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was very comfortable, good bed, nice host a bit unusual with more hotel room than motel but no problem.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wow!
Fantastic Host!
Fantastic comfy beds and clean and spotless room.
Highly recommend to book direct. Friendly Host welcomed me and my friend and helps us settle in. Also helped heat up the room to comfort level.
Also gave helpful tips on where to go and what to do.
I’ll be back !!
Thanks

- Ann (8/5): - This is a remote facility with standards that are close to city levels. Opposite a pub with good meals, it is come comfortable and has some old world atmosphere. Not perfect but very good. We are repeat visitors.
- Wojciech (10/5): Nice stay - Very clean, renovated Motel, nice and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pleasant place to stay. Friendly staff and affordable place to stay
- Sergey (8/5): - If noisy heather would produce less noise, it would be next to excellent night. Otherwise, there was no issues at all. The room was clean and large enough. It definitely worth what we paid for.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well presented and super easy to deal with. Very friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel, - Clean room. Hotel owner is very nice & helpful lady.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Snug as a bug is a very appropriate description. Beautiful room. Friendly people.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location - The Snug as a Bug motel is in central to the town very accessible to all shops and entertainment. The staff are very friendly and able to assist with anything you require
- Margaret (10/5): - Lovely old dwelling, very friendly owner. Only 8 rooms - We were the only customers the night we were there, was very peaceful and quiet, very comfortable bed, just what we needed. Would recommend it for anyone looking for a restful time.
- Trapper (6/5): Handy stop off - handy stop off on the Alpine road. Very quite good facilities in the village and everyone friendly.
- Colin (10/5): Cute cottage - Nice old cottage. Beautiful surroundings and historical town.
- fiona (10/5): friendly, approachable owners. All the comforts. - Went to Omeo for my son's wedding and the owner was very helpful with directions and places to eat, buy food etc. The rooms had everything we needed and the veranda was a lovely place to sit for breakfast.
- Helen (8/5): Very accommodating staff - We arrived long past check in closing time because of bad weather. With no phone signal (and nowhere to pull over on the road) we couldn't phone and let them know. But they were just happy we'd arrived and even let us park our motorcycles on the back porch to get them out of the rain.
- Jenny (8/5): Look forward to revisiting ! - A clean, quiet spacious room right in the centre of town - with outside shady seating area also - wouldnt hesitate to stay there again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location in centre of town. - Easy to find, good quality motel. Clean functional with all amenities in a lovely garden with ample car parking and close to all Omeo facilities. Thanks
- Diyana (8/5): Charming place - Beautiful old town and an easy drive to the snow fields to ski.
- Tracey (10/5): Lovely and snug at Snug as a Bug! - Easy check in - we were early but just telephoned the number on the door of the office and the owner came straight away to let us check in. The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a our stay. We only stayed for one night but the place is perfect for longer stays. Lovely electric blankets on the beds ensured that we stayed snug on a cold winter's night.
We had dinner in the local motel, just a short walk away, where the service was good and the food delicious. Snug as Bug is in a fabulous position for easy access to Dinner Plain and Mt Hotham and a great place to stay for a visit to the snow without the extortionate price tags for staying in the snow resorts. Everything you need for the snow can be hired just down the road.
Would certainly stay here again and would recommend it for anyone wanting to explore the Alpine Region.
- Peter (8/5): Very nice atmosphere area to access to Local pub - Very nice place to rest after 5 days Alpine Trekking from Fall Creeks to Mt Hotham. Very nice hot meals at Omeo pub next to Snup motel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Work Related Stay. - Was an excellent base for working in the Omeo area. Room was comfortable and spacious for working at night.
- Judi (8/5): Historic Digs - Loved the place. Would definitely stay there again. Our room were in the guest house and the rooms were well maintained, clean and the bed was comfortable. Our hostess was very helpful in pointing out walking routes and in assisting me with points of interest specific to my tracing of family history. Unfortunately I was not able to visit all the historic offerings in the town due to time limitations.
- traveller (10/5): Lovely cottage - Large comfortable room but shower on the small side. Lovely staff there when you need them don't see them otherwise. To our surprise a fully equipped kitchen available. Great with home cook after a week on the road.

- Keith (8/5): Different, pleasing and a little quirky in a beaut - Great overnight stop on the Great Alpine road. clean pleasant rooms and that little different to the normal motel stay
- Pam (10/5): Great place to stay, would go there again - Beautiful old house converted to large spacious rooms, especially set up for motor bikes with under cover parking. Close to pub for meal, quiet location
- James (10/5): Friendly and comfortable - Great base for local exploration
- Jacqueline (10/5): historic cottage - We had a very comfortable night in the beautiful wisteria draped cottage. It was very clean and had everything we needed.
- GG (10/5): Nice affordable - Nice affordable very comfortable room with everything I needed for my over night stay. Also just over the road from the hotel for a meal.
- Gail (8/5): The Motel Name Says it All - Unit 7, a nice twin room, good size. Very cold outside but room comfortable and facilities good. Did ask that air conditioner instructions be put into motel information book as took a short while to work out and you don't want that in such weather. Nonetheless pleasant stay for a couple of nights.
- Susan and Max (10/5): Very comfortable accommodation in remote Omeo - We stayed in a room in the cottage. The scent of the roses and the wisteria was lovely. There are tables and chairs on the verandah.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great country hotel - We really enjoyed our stay at Snug as a Bug. We were offered a choice of types of accommodation, taking the motel part which was a converted homestead 1901 with a large verandah around it. It was peaceful & quiet & Florence the owner was most helpful & relaxed. Omeo is a quiet former gold town. The pub across the road was busy & served good meals.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Disappointing accomodation. Would not revisit. Modest digs at best.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good accomodation just over the road from the Pub! - We stayed here on the way home from a recent motorcycle trip and were very happy with the service. The hotel room was clean and comfortable and quiet. Florence, the owner was not well but still managed to be cheerful and helpful. The accommodation is across the road from the Golden Age Hotel where we had a lovely meal. After we got home I had a call from the owner to tell me that they had found one of my earrings! Great service. Thanks.
- weary treveller (6/5): In a picturesque town and setting - Lady in reception was very pleasant, we were in a unit within the house at the rear of the motel. The setting was fine, however the room was small and the ensuite was very small with a tiny shower. Compared to other motels we've stayed at, we felt it was slightly over priced.
