- Ray4x4 (2/5): Had no option but to drive into town after having a few drinks after park cancelled bistro without notice. - Overall, the park was great and the kids really enjoyed it, although a bit more shade over the pool would have been appreciated. Our main issue related to the bistro. At check-in and in the program, we were advised that the bistro would be open during our stay. However, on our second night, when we planned to eat at the park, we found it closed. After calling the after-hours number, we were told the bistro was not open and would not be opening on any of the nights. With two hungry children and both parents having had a few drinks, this left us in a difficult position. The delivery option suggested to us was one the children had tried the previous night and did not enjoy and no other delivery available, left me with no choice but to drive into town to buy food. This situation could have been easily avoided with a simple text message, particularly as text messages were sent during our stay for other notices. I had hoped to leave a higher review and emailed this feedback twice (once via the website and once directly to the park). Unfortunately, receiving no response has only highlighted the need for better communication.

Very modern and the ones around the lake are amazing. Mini golf, large chess and a small bike track are a bonus for the kids, along with a pool and jumping castle. Highly recommend.

The whole site is amazing, staff so friendly and accommodating. The Camp kitchen is just Theee best we have ever been two. We decided with it being winter we would utilise it. Great heater the best equipment ever. We will be back
- Trek775201 (10/5): A must stay when in Hahndorf - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our camping experience at Hahndorf Discovery Park has been absolutely outstanding! The amenities, staff, and overall presentation are all top notch. We originally booked for 4 nights but ended up extending our stay because we loved it so much. The park has been the perfect base for our day trips to Adelaide, Victor Harbor, the Barossa, and of course, exploring the beautiful town of Hahndorf itself. We’re now heading to the Yorke Peninsula, but I have a feeling this stay at Discovery Parks will be hard to beat. I 100% recommend staying here!

- Andrea (10/5): IMMACULATE AND CLEAN - A spacious room with 2 queen beds beautifully made with high quality white, high thread count sheets. 4 pillows per bed. Towels looked a bit old but they were clean and useful. A fixed shower head in the shower instead of a hand held shower head so I didn't shower as I find fixed shower heads useless unless you are washing your hair. Parking was right out front of the window so it was easy to keep an eye and ear on the car. Noisy and we heard conversations in other rooms, including a full scale argument which woke me up. The sun poured in the window in the morning and was blinding but block out curtains solved that and kept the room in total darkness. There was an obvious lack of seating with only one upholstered dining/desk chair and I really missed having a sofa or at the very least one lounging chair for a room that can take 4 people. WIFI was great and worked fine. Staying at the top of the hill I found it quite nice accommodation. It would have been helpful to know if the pool is heated or not as whilst I found it tempting I wasn't sure and it looked icy cold.

- paulineg442 (4/5): Hahndorf caravan park - We have stayed at the caravan park for 3 nights. The location is great and, the park is very clean and the swimming pool is great. But that’s where it ends. The sites are too close together. The staff are not the friendliest I’ve come across and I went for a little walk and because I went up a road where permanent cabins are some woman came out to tell me that that road was private why did she pay for the road for God sake? I was only walking stretching my legs which I injured at the park anyway don’t think I’ll bother going back lots of other great places.

- FordRanger2018 (8/5): One night stay - Booked into one of the units, booking in was easy, the units are tucked away in a nice grassed area out the back , the units are very modern ,they have all the modcons you would require , bit out of town, so buy everything before you arrive , I think the units are overpriced.

Short drive to town and the money spent to upgrade this park is second to none. - We stopped here for 2 nights on the way back north and wished we had stayed an extra night or 2. The park and facilities are amazing. Whoever owns it has spent a heap and as a result the park is one of the best we have ever stayed at. The only downfall is it’s built on a hillside so if your not particularly able bodied I recommend stating this when you check in so you can get a caravan site that is more friendlier on your body. We got a drive through site and it was great - site 2. The only downfall was it was a reasonable hike back up the hill to the amenities, however was good for the kids and overall was not a massive drama. The cabins from the outside looked fantastic so if that is your thing I would say you are more than safe choosing this location. The camp kitchen was unlike many others we have seen, and the view from the tables is worth going to use even if you just want a nice view for an afternoon drink. Washing machines are coin operated and when we stayed in January 2025 were $5ea. As a family we played the mini golf which is a fairly reasonable course. Pool is heated and there is a jumping pillow, pump track, outdoor play equipment and indoor pay for use games room. Signage around the park is excellent, highly recommend to anyone. Across the road from the park is a Hahndorf Farmers Market. The fresh produce is fantastic so if you need anything it’s worth stocking up.

I will be going back and recommending family and friends to stay. Check in was super quick and friendly. 5 star all the way.

I would have given the cabin four stars except for some basic omissions. Nowhere to hang dresses, No towel rails in the bathroom No chopping board in the kitchen Room not serviced for our 6 day stay The laundromat only had two washing machines which were often being used to wash the dining room's tablecloths.

The staff realized I had booked a basic room but would need cooking facilities so upgraded us at no cost to a fantastic site up the back. it was quiet, clean and comfortable. Drinking wine and relaxing at the campers kitchen deck is 1 of our favorite spots in Hahndorf. Thank you for another great experience at your park. See you next year.

- U2133HBhs (10/5): Beautiful, clean and enjoyable. - Absolutely exceptional! I don't usually write reviews but after a couple of bad stays I realize we must praise the really good ones! This park is clean, has great facilities and activities for families plus nice views. It has even a Weber Q set up for guests as well as family toilet. The management and reception team are also friendly and helpful. I have stayed here twice, once in the self contained studio and once in a caravan. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

- carolinedK4224QY (8/5): Worth booking in here - Spent one night here and if the weather had been a bit warmer def would have used the balcony with great views overlooking the lake. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed, would have been even better with a slightly bigger fridge with decent freezer though for travellers its ice bricks. It is only a few minutes drive from the Main Street where there are heaps of shops and restaurants. Staff were all very helpful and it is a nice quiet park

- 970swetlanah (4/5): Discovery park Hahndorf - Unfortunately it was not a very good experience. We booked two cabins for our family, it was advertised as lakeview cabins, swimming pool incl. Swimming pool was not opened, instead of lakeview we had a building place view. The reception Lady ( not very friendly) stated that they didn't know that building works would start at this particularly days ( 19.02.2024) and that swimming pool would be close ??? It was very hot these days, all the visitors were deeply upset and disappointed that swimming pool was not opened. It should be informed before hand, sure many of visitors including us would have canceled this trip. It's not the way to host the visitors.
