Guest Reviews
- Benison (8/5): - Great value for money and nice staff but the highway traffic noise woke me way too early.
- Michael David (6/5): - Convenient.
- Ana (8/5): Basic but good - The room was ok, comfortable beds, nice bed sheets, a little noisy early in the morning.
- Matt (8/5): - We have stayed here before, it suits our needs. We didn't eat here this time as we were out most eating times. But we have eaten from the bistro before and the meals were fine.
Only had the one interaction with the staff and they were friendly and helpful. I am planning a trip again down the track and will look for accomodation here again.
- STEPHANIE (6/5): - The rooms were adequate,
The beds were adequate.
Tv is very small.
Kitchen amenities were adequate (frozen milk in the fridge).
Parking was great.
Staff were unprepared. (Asked for payment, when payment had already made. Took over half and hour to get key and sign a piece of paper.)
- Julie (6/5): Business travel - Ok for a quick overnight stay for business . Would stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was only an overnight stay, but the meals were great and the staff were friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our room was quiet and comfortable. Being near the Hotel was handy for meals.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The living quarters were quite small and very basic with a tv that small I had to take a picture for people to believe me. Probably well over priced for the standard of room. However I must say that the standard of meals at the hotel were absolutely excellent and would recommend the meals to anyone visiting.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bathroom had been renewed and was bright and functional - tiled floor to ceiling with new fixtures and wonderful shower.
If the room and motel frontage had as much attention it would be a wonderful place to stay. Overall clean and comfortable. Would visit again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The cobwebs under the side table and the fact that the cocktails stopped at 9.30pm
- Rose (8/5): Value for money - The room was better than I expected. Everything you needed for an overnight. Beds comfy, room warm, fridge and tea and coffee making facs provided.
Only thing is that there are bright lights outside on the walkway that are on till 2am at night. There is a glass panel on top of the door and the vertical blinds were missing a strip, so the light came through into the room. It was hard to sleep.
There was little traffic noise, not enough to notice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property served my purpose for a quick one night stay, as the room was adequate and bed was comfortable. The TV was probably the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel room anywhere, made it hard to see at times.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - • The room (Number 7) stunk of damp. So badly in fact, I had to open the door and windows and sit outside for a while until it was breathable. However, every few hours the stench returned.
• Apparently, the room had been cleaned just before my arrival. There were coffee cup rings on the bedside tables, still sticky. And a half dead cockroach lying in the shower.
• My stay was Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. On Tuesday, the room wasn’t cleaned or replenished. After mentioning this to staff, the room was cleaned Wednesday, but no replenishment of the (tiny) shampoo and conditioner bottles. Both empty ones were left from the 2 days before. However, there was a new dead cockroach lying on it’s back in the shower.
• I never got the TV in the room to work. I did mention this to staff at the bar but nothing was ever done.
• I never got the Internet to work. Your welcome book in the room listed you ‘free’ wi-fi network as:
BigPond627580 and password 2B8978892E.
There was no such network. On asking at the bar, I was told that, in fact, the networks was:
hhotel and the password heathcote1.
This actually worked for the first evening, then it too disappeared and never returned. I half-heartedly mentioned this to bar staff, nothing was ever done. I ended up using my mobile phone as a hotspot while staying at the hotel, thus incurring even more expense.
The dining room is a glimpse into insanity, Children run wild and screaming even into over 18 areas.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bed was comfortable, but the bedside clock-radio wouldn’t tune and the alarm went off at midnight. Then the radio started crackling. I had to turn it off at the wall. The promised wifi had the instructions in the folder, but the wifi listed in it wasn’t visible on my phone. The only wifi that showed up was HHaccomodation but the login code in the folder was wrong. Vertical blind missing one drop.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a bed to stay in. Could of been cleaner. Needs new blinds.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Tidy, clean, noisy good quick stay. - Clean comfortable room inside and good heatpump/blankets nice and warm. Big gap under door which we blocked up to avoid a draft. Can hear neighbours but not noise from pub so loud other visitors can wake you up. Outside looks run down but much nicer inside. Service for checking in took ages as at the bar and busy but lovely staff. Only a very quick stay for us and location was great close to family.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Short - Very good clean and even though you are at hotel it was not nosy and great meals and great little coffee shop out front great meals
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good basic accommodation which represents value for money
- Charles (6/5): Good Overall - I found the process of actually checking in to be very confusing
the hotel check-in is inside the bistro and it is not clearly a hotel lobby
The room is somewhat old but was not in bad shape it is easy to burn one self because the hot water comes too Quickly whenn the water is turned on
It is difficult to get the shower to be the right temperature
This hotel does not allow cooking in the rooms
And there is no microwave or toaster
Overall a comparable value for the money to other Australian hotels that we stayed at
- Bill (6/5): Hotel on highway and rail line - Couldn’t sleep well due to outside lights on, no blockout curtains only thin verticals. Nothing above the door to reduce light.
Need better insulation to dampen the light and noise. Good bistro and pub
- Katie (6/5): We just needed a bed for the night - There was a threadbare thrown on the bed, they should have just thrown it. The toilet was not cleaned properly and there were hairs on the bathroom floor.
At the end of the day we just needed a bed for the night and we had that and a shower so met our needs.
- mahony (8/5): Walking distance to shops n train! - Room is clean, simple n well equipped. Close to shops n train is useful! Great place to stay n staff in pub alongside are helpful but it is a sports bar so if you don't like screens n races n pokies go out somewhere for recreation.
- Jennifer (8/5): - The hotel is convenient to family in Helensburgh. The staff were friendly and efficient.
- J (6/5): Walls thin, need I say more
- Not a good sleep, but a good meal and friendly staff
Lighting poor and only one chair for two people.
- Mrs D (8/5): - Good stay but the pillows and bedding stunk of cigarettes
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice but a little overpriced - Friendly staff and was very quiet given the proximity of the princes highwa
The only complaint- and a major one that is easily fixed- the blinds were broken which meant no privacy and light pouring in the next morning
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Value for Money - Spent a week in a very welcoming and accommodating hotel. Staff very friendly, Room simple but you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend. Very close to everywhere.
Thank You Heathcote.
- Graeme (10/5): Comfortable and cheap - It was a pleasant stay would stay here again. Stayed mid week so I don't know if the noise from the pub would be too loud when a band is playing. It was very quiet when I stayed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall I had a good stay. There was supposed to be free WIFI, but it was disappointing that there was no WIFI. The room was nice and comfortable.
- Chris (8/5): Very comfortable + clean - Our room suited us perfectly for our stay. It was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large and modern. The only issue was we were woken at an unsociable hour by some loud drunk people staying in the room next door which was due to thoughtless people not the Hotel
- barbara (8/5): Happy Travellers - This Motel is all about our convenience, close to family, close to transport, enjoyable food, and children friendly. we are grandparents and don't have our own transport and this motel offers all the facilities we need to enjoy our family and our stay in Sydney.
- Christine (10/5): Very close to trains and shops. - My 12 year old Daughter and I stayed for 2 nights while doing a Sydney "tourist" Trip. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed wholeheartedly and offered handy hints.
The hotel is so close to transport and the hotel staff were more than happy to let us know surrounding attractions and train times.
The rooms were great and if you think you are going to hear noise from the Hotel, you won't. We stayed on NRL grand final weekend and we didn't hear a thing.
If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the overpriced city hotels this is a great venue, only 40 mins on train to the city, easier than driving and cheaper.
Cannot say enough good things about our stay and the wonderful treatment we received :)
- Verified traveler (6/5): hard work - I asked for wheelchair access and was told that it is a ground floor unit but there were steps so it was very difficult for us.
Someone yelling outside the room at 2am Sun morning, the staff were helpful and sympathetic.
- Nas (8/5): A place to stay half way from South Coast - Booked in for a night only. Was quiet on a Sunday night and left on Monday morning.
- Mel (8/5): Located close to trains and shops - Room very clean although not very private as entrance is located in front of Hotel car park and rooms are all joining. Very easy to get too and Staff very Friendly and food in bistro reasonably priced - not your average pub food, but tasty.
Overall a 4 and I would stay there again

10 minutes from Sutherland Entertainment Centre. The meals in the Bistro were amazing and yet so busy the chefs did so well to put out such great food
