Guest Reviews
- Haydn (3/5): - Cockroaches, broken light fitting, generally unclean.
- Charles (5/5): - location not very clean , toilet paper has been thrown above air con unit and not cleaned dust blew around the room
- Neil (9/5): Great location, cheap and safe and clean. - Self check in. Shower had some mold.
- Daniel (9/5): -
- Linda (10/5): Just what I wanted for an overnight stay at a very reasonable price. - I didn’t have the breakfast but the location was perfect for my stay as I had an early appointment right around the corner the following morning. The pillows 🥴 a bit too firm.
- Thomas (4/5): Underwhelming - Couldn't leave bags somewhere post check out. Pretty impersonal and unfriendly. Not what you expect in country nsw.
- Oliver (3/5): good spot, nice bed but dirtiest carpet in the world. - Bed was clean and comfy The dirtiest carpet I have ever seen. The stains were huge and variable.
- Stephen (5/5): could use a bit of TLC - beds were comfortable motel was rundown, ,carpets stained, upon arrival was confronted by someone sleeping in their car in the carpark of the motel asking me to keep an eye on their car as they thought the person in the unit near it, "was eying off their stuff",made us feel unsafe.
- Arthur (10/5): -
- Karen (1/5): It was shit i have stayed in better place for cheaper - Nothing i liked Everything there was hair in the shower there was no washers couldn't sleep in the same bed with husband because was up against the wall couldn't watch Netflix there was no toaster or real coffee cups there was mould in the roof of the shower
- richard (9/5): - NA Na
- Tyren (4/5): -
- Jenny (7/5): Comfortable -
- MAX (5/5): Stay was for short term Business trip - acceptable. - Location to the Job I was to attend the following day. Parking area was not secure from general public. General Public was able to Loiter around guest's room and Vehicles.
- Natasha (3/5): - Bathroom door couldn't shut properly shower head keept falling down no curtain paint peeling no cutlery expensive for the price wasn't worth it
- Carmel (7/5): - Toilet seat not fitting properly.
- Mandy (8/5): -
- Rob (6/5): Happy with my stay, unhappy with the experience - It had all the basic things I expected when booking and was clean They had somehow left the wrong TV remote in the room and so I had to call somebody.
Overall I became quite uneasy with my stay and most likely would never return. There was a strong presence of young people plotting around me. I regularly saw bunches of youths come into the compound to see the people in the room next to me. I don’t know if this is also a public housing facility. Or simply a local was living there with their kids, plus possibly others in the compound. It did make me feel uneasy and kept me on alert.
There was also an incident when I had returned after briefly being away to sight see. Where two people were trying to convince a staff member in a ride on scooter. That they had left bags in my room. To which the staff member went to my room and opened it. Behind my back while I was unloading my car. Then questioned me as to when I had booked my room.
I can’t help but wonder if this was all connected or coincidence to the dodgy people I kept seeing around me. On top of that if I hadn’t arrived when I had. That I would’ve returned to a room where I had been robbed.
- Cassandra (6/5): - Great location. Beds weren't terribly comfortable.
- Than-Uel (7/5): - Great location and value for money
- Nikeesha (9/5): -
- hellen (1/5): -
- Saligumba (9/5): Accessible to all the shop we want to go -
- Carol (3/5): For $146 a night I expected better, room was not bad but residents around us, not good at all - The room was small, but the room was clean and comfortable
Our Tv didn’t work either The property was like a hostel, people living in rooms
All night cars were going in and out till 4am both nights, knocking on a room door getting there drug supply, people talking all night, we both didn’t sleep well
Wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone
- Walter (3/5): Disappointed in the place; now shower curtain, nowhere to hang towels. - Location Poor condition of the room
- Marilyn (2/5): - Location was the only thing I liked Very rundown and outdated, large stains in the carpet, no toaster, crockery or cutlery, only paper cups and wooden teaspoons
- Jason (5/5): Can’t beat the location but……. - Location Youth centre in the car park, maintaince needed
- Rohit (7/5): Good - Nice location and good ventilation room was neat and spacious worth for money. Mattress was uncomfortable.
- Patrick (8/5): Good short stay. Great distance from shopping centres, venues etc. Only fault was that the remote for the tv would only - Comfortable stay and not too loud That the remote would only control power and volume on the tv
- Carmen (7/5): Good for a single night if location and convenience are a priority. - Great central location, and contactless checkin with no stuffing around. There was no shower curtain so the bathroom got quite wet and messy; some hooks to store our clothing and belongings would have made it feel a bit tidier.
- Mamie (1/5): Wanted to check out the moment we arrived. - Nothing at all 🙁 Wouldn’t recommend this place not even overnight stay. TV wasn’t working only one channel. Had to put up with crazy neighbours arguing, shouting and noise late at night.
- rodney (3/5): -
- Lynette (1/5): Will not return or recommend to anyone! - I liked that it was easy to get to, and the location was great. The room was not good. It had a weird smell, the curtains don't cover the window properly. There were cobwebs that were not new. The ceiling was peeling, the bathroom had towel rails broken and the toilet holder broken. Whilst showering i had to hold the shower head up as it wouldn't stay up! Someone was showering and I could hear the pipes! I did not get much sleep! There was too much light coming through the window and the bed/pillows were uncomfortable. I was extremely unhappy and will not stay or recommend this place! These rooms need to be updated.
- Alan (4/5): It’s old /run down and cheap - The code for the room only works till midnight I had to call the onsite guy to get into my room as I arrived after midnight.
They changed my room number so I ended up paying for 2 rooms, I contacted the Hotel and emailed details but never heard back.
- Jane (9/5): Excellent for a one night stay. -
- Katsuyoshi (7/5): -
- Rachel (9/5): Simple and clean accommodation and reasonable price especially so close to Christmas. - Kite Street Units are ideally located in the heart of Orange and a pleasant change from the usual Pub style accommodation especially if you have children under 18 to consider. It is very close to amenities and local cafes. We were on foot so this made a big difference to our short stay. Larger towels
- Oxford (8/5): -
- Jacqueline (5/5): -
- Colin (5/5): - in general was happy enough There is a key in room and you will pay if you lose or take but guess what No key
(all tea and coffee making in tact) Two cups would have been great
- Annette (2/5): Would not stay again - We arrived at 11pm and a group of girls made sleep impossible even though the caretaker did try to stop them - after minimal sleep we ended up leaving at 5.30
- Anthea (1/5): Could have been good if we were actually able to stay in our room - Location was central Focusing on the “contactless check in” so strongly to have it in the title of your listing but then not having that check in work very well is a bit of a joke. The codes don’t always work which resulted in us getting locked out of our room at 2am and even the next day when we spoke to staff and they gave us an alternative code, that still didn’t work and the cleaner had to let us in. They don’t warn you about this or give you a number to call after hours (they give you a room number but it’s just another guest room which felt odd to go knocking on at that time) so we had to stay at a friends’ place. Really infuriating
- Romeiro (2/5): -
- Maree (6/5): - Value for money Being woken up and evacuated for a faulty alarm. Police visited the units multiple times during our stay
- Aaron (7/5): - clise to CBD, pubs, and restaurants. the carpet was a bit rough, and the bathroom was dated. All within expectations for the price ‐ I have no complaints. It's just honest feedback. I will stay there again.
- Katie (7/5): -
- Steven (10/5): Great location, easy checkin/out, difficult sleep due to unfortunate circumstances. - Well located and easy to check in and check out The bed had a missing leg so I had to go out onto the street and grab a brick to prop it up.
Although kept clean and tidy the shower was not private as the bathroom door was unable to be locked and no screen or curtain on the shower, this was discomforting for my teenage daughter.
We didn't have the greatest sleep as the fire alarm went off at midnight and we weren't able to get back to sleep til at least an hour later.
- Odea (10/5): -
- Luqman (9/5): -
- JARED (8/5): -
- Isabelle (3/5): The stay was ok. The location and price was why I booked but upon arrival when I walked into the room it smelt damp and - The location The carpet was damp and had a smell of mold to the room
- Jacki (1/5): -
- Beth (3/5): It smelt weird and there was no tea etc until I rang the help number . Most unusual place to stay -
- Nanette (1/5): -
- Antony (1/5): Terrible is was unclean and horrible - Nothing Nothing at all
- Katharine (3/5): Do not stay here. It’s cheap but still bad value. - The location is very central This place is really uncared for. The carpet was filthy which was quite disgusting since we had a toddler with us. The bathroom had broken tiles that had not been repaired, no shower curtain rail so everything got wet, and it had clearly had the door replaced at some point and no one had bothered to paint it - not even prime it. The overall setting feels a bit dodgy too.
- Narelle Page (5/5): - Loved the location, so close to everything in the main streets around Orange. Look it was clean and tidy, but it needs a lot of maintenance. For instance, bathroom fan falling from the ceiling, this is dangerous, cupboard doors falling off hinges, Ironing board cover so thin you might as well iron on the bed. Bed wasn't too bad, have slept in worse. Outside is not very inviting as the wood panels are looking very old and wood sticking out, what gardens there is are overgrown. I don't think I am that fussy but a little maintenance on this property would go a long way to getting more people stay.
- Lara (7/5): -
- Jay (3/5): Below average facilities. Generally dirty and poorly maintained. - Sheets were clean but not much else positive to say... Very dirty carpets. Exposed wires from light fitting. Doonas were dirty. Walls were dirty. No shower screen. Room had a bad smell. USB power outputs don't work. Door code didn't work on 2nd day. Didnt work again on last day. Emergency alarm went off - no communication from any staff.
- Donna (3/5): Go elsewhere - Nothing Room extremely worn out, paint peeling on the ceilings, walls need painting, kitchen outdated, loud water pipes, generally needs a good deep clean and a new mattress
- Grant (7/5): -
- Richard (5/5): - Centrally located Peeling paint on the ceiling, no towel rail- its missing, no shower curtain or screen
- Morehouse (8/5): A very comfortable stay for three nights, reasonable charges too. - the location is quiet and only one block from the main streets of Orange. The room code didn't work after Saturday night, just as well there was a key available to enter the room.
The security lighting makes the rooms very light at night and it can be difficult to get to sleep.
- Wendy (10/5): -
- alex (10/5): -
- Gill (3/5): - Bedding Lights, roof, bathroom, no utenvils
- Noel (7/5): - The proximity to town was good and a spacious room. There were no cups or glasses, only paper cups and no milk for tea.
- Mathis (9/5): -
- Penny (1/5): Never again - Faulty door lock. No privacy screens. No shower screen. Nothing like photo or description. Very disappointing.
- Gavin (6/5): -
- Gheorghe Daniel (1/5): Avoid like the plague. - Not much to like… Maybe contactless check in. But now I wonder if they do that on purpose so that you can’t go and see someone and ask for your money back. Oh where do I start? First there was the smell. Someone obviously smoked in the room and they tried to cover it up with 10 cans of room spray. IT DID NOT WORK! Absolutely rank in there. Next is the dodgy carpet (see pictures attached). You can’t take your shoes off in that room. It’s just not safe. Also see the picture where the smoke alarm is covered with a plastic bag held by a hair tie. I mean it doesn’t get worse than this surely ? All of this for the meagre sum of $180 a night. I’m absolutely disappointed in this accomodation. Should be taken of booking.com. It doesn’t do the brand any good.
- Jasmine (1/5): Filthy “units” unsafe and freezing cold - The contactless check in only Let’s start from the beginning. I take a blue light with me to hotels, this place was covered in filthy debree and bodily fluids over not only the bed heads, drawers, carpets but also the walls. There were marks visible to the naked eye. The tap was broken and came straight off when I first used it. The windows in the bathrooms are open and have no physical way of shutting for some unknown reason so during the colder parts of the day/evening you can’t even contemplate going to the bathroom let alone showering. The dead bolt on the door was broken. When I messaged the owners/management I received no response regarding my safety or the general filthiness of the “units” I stayed for only one night when I was supposed to be there for nearly a week. They have not messaged me back regarding my refund.
- Sue (6/5): Good for one night. - Location worked for me. Rooms average but sheets and towels clean and TV worked with wifi. Looking a bit tired and could do with a revamp.
- Sue (7/5): A pleasant basic room clean and comfortable - Clean and comfortable for a quick one night stay. A bit noisy but all ok
- Josefa Sadriu (10/5): -
- Marianne (6/5): - Convenient location Carpet was filthy
- Anthony (7/5): -
- Chris (7/5): - Location Tidy
- Larraine (5/5): - Quiet location and good bedding. It would have been better if there had been a toaster. We were not expecting a lot but if we could make some toast to go with our hot drink would have made for a better start to the day.
- Milly (9/5): -
- julie (7/5): Comfortable and good location - Good location and friendly staff There were no plates or utensils and the microwave was missing the plate inside
- Danielle (10/5): Perfect location and easy check in! - Contactless check in. Everything was sent via text, so super easy check in process, but we did not see or speak to any staff, so I could not rate that. Room was immaculately clean, parking was right in front of the room and it’s bang in the middle of town, so walking distance to everything and the heater was on point as it was cold during my stay. Very basic room, but was all I needed for a short stay. The bathroom is freezing during winter, so those towel warming racks would be an awesome touch.

- Peter (2/5): Very disappointing. - Location was good and unit was clean. Towel rail in bathroom had been broken and not replaced. Shower curtain non existent (rail also broken and not replaced) which meant water all over floor. TV aerial not able to be connected (Plug had been removed from one end) Bar in fridge door missing so bottles could not be stored upright.
- Sumitra (6/5): Ok, considering the price. - Close to the town centre but off the busy main street. Room and bathroom were clean. No shower curtain, could be risky with the floor getting wet.
- Collins (5/5): Needs upgrade - Location good. Microwave helpful. Very old and needs upgrade.
No plates, bowls, or cutlery and no toaster.
Only disposable cups and teaspoon
Saggy beds
Bathroom poky - hit head on basin whilst dressing after toilet. No curtain or screen on shower.
Smart lock with pin, was not easy to use and took many attempts to enter.
Nor good value for money.
- Anne (6/5): Kite Street motel units, Orange, NSW. - It was okay - basic amenities, beds were comfortable &:the heater worked. There was an electric kettle & a microwave plus coffee & tea provided. The contactless entry to our room was seamless & easy to use There were no plates or bowls for eating meals, neither were there eating utensils other than tiny wood tea spoons for stirring drinks. One thing that annoyed us was the fact that the exhaust fan in the bathroom turned on when the light switch was pressed which meant it couldn't be turned off independently ,- consequently we both froze while showering. Also there was no shower curtain so the bathroom floor remained wet.
- Angelo (4/5): Location was good, but site is ok - We paid for the extra single bed, so room was spacious and clean ... and location to the main street was perfect, the check in was very easy and efficient ... did not see any staff on site though The room needs lots of maintenance, eg door handle comes off, blind strings were broken, no shower curtain, lamps not working ... the sound proofing is poor, you can hear the neighbours and road noise very clearly .... and seems to be a hang out for many people ... possibly because there was no staff there to supervise the location
- Robert Ingley (8/5): -
- Viola (6/5): Dirty room - location We stayed in July 2025, and it took me months to write this review due to my busy schedule. However, I still remember our stay very vividly. We understood that rooms aren't cleaned daily, which was perfectly fine. However, when we arrived, we noticed some shampoo bottles left in the shower area and stains on the pillows, which made it seem like the room hadn't been properly cleaned after the previous guest.
Getting a fresh set of pillows and towels was a bit of a hassle, as we had to walk somewhere to request them. I messaged this concern on the day we checked in, but no one responded. I even took photos as evidence just in case. Our stay was uncomfortable because the room felt unclean, but we stayed because we were only there for two nights.
- Guy (3/5): Never again! - The room that was booked was not cleaned and bed was made, but someone had laid on it. I rang and they down graded us into a clean room . The first room also had rubbish still in the bin.
