Guest Reviews
- Gloria (4/5): - No elevator and tied to a casino
- Scooby (10/5): - Staff friendly and helpful. Very convenient to Airport.
- Les (10/5): - Room and food great
- Lyn (10/5): - Excellent food served at the Inn. It was noisy as people were smoking outside and talking loudly. Once they went to their rooms it was perfect.
- Wendy (10/5): - My stay at Mornington Inn was good, cheap accommodation, nice meal in the restaurant,
- Les (10/5): - Easy to find
- Simon (10/5): A few minutes out of Hobart - Good parking, everything close by. Easy to find.
- GEOFFREY (8/5): - Comfortable room, nice food at pub.
- Raymond (8/5): - Close to airport - reasonable priced
- Htar Htar Melody (4/5): Not clean - The room is cheap so you get what you paid. For us, just one night drop by before going to the airport in the early morning. No wifi, No elevator. Utensils, cups in the room are dirty. Fridge is dirty. Lamp is not working.
- Cassandra (4/5): - We stayed in a family room, which was quite spacious. The Bistro at the Hotel was quick with great food. The location was close to the airport.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Four stars for Property Condition because there was no coffee for me to have in the morning. Otherwise, excellent.
- Glenn (10/5): - All good.
- Bich (8/5): - Family room was a good size, comfortablr
- Soranun (8/5): - All good
- Soranun (10/5): - Convenient and easy parking
- James (10/5): - Everything was lovely, whilst we arrived at the Mornington property we were told that we were actually booked in at the other park off the freeway, so a little confusion there. I am sure that the property is a very peaceful place, sadly on the day there was a convoy of trucks blowing their horns, not your fault. Thank you for a great experience
- Beate (8/5): - Close to the airport.
- Teresa (10/5): Mornington Inn Hobart - We love the Mornington Inn. It’s cosy, bed and pillows are amazing.
The meals are amazing.
There isn’t any internet access but most people have their own these days.
We have stayed before and will stay again certainly 😊😊
- Geoffrey (8/5): Mornington Bar and Accommodation - Nice neat comfortable room and exceptional value. Hearty meals at quite a reasonable price. Pleasant staff.
- Braydon (10/5): - Great budget accommodation for those of us who cant afford high end hotels
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff
- Tony (8/5): - Thank you 🙏
New projects being done around the place
- Debra (8/5): - A cheap option, good value for money.
Staff were friendly. The meals are great and a good value pub meal. Big menu, good service. Would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends
- Ian (8/5): - No sit down breakfast
- Kristine (10/5): - Helpful staff and the availability of an extra night if needed early checkout was simple having restaurant on site was great
- Nikki (8/5): - Thank you so much for allowing me to check in early. I really appreciate it. Shout out to Cobid
- Betnadette (6/5): - Spent 4 nights there and found it very frustrating that there was no microwave in the hotel room. The pub next door had great meals. An obvious ploy to get people to buy pub meals.
The staff at the pub were really good especially Phoebe.
- Sandra (10/5): - Very clean, perfect. Thank you
- Kathryn (2/5): - The drunks at night were disturbing and rude. Also, the two interruptions by housekeeping staff just after 9am, without knocking was really difficult and unprofessional. Will not be staying here again!!
- Arthur (8/5): - Please advise the Mornington Inn that the bed was uncomfortable and after one very quick hot shower my partner had no hot water at all.
- Fiona (8/5): - It was a great place for what we needed
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Good location for where I needed to be, staff were friendly and room was pleasant.
- Richarx (8/5): - Only real complaint was my shower. Had terrible pressure as hot water tap needed a service and was causing major water hammer when turned up.
- Michael (6/5): No WiFi available - First off, this hotel offers NO guest wi-fi service. So if you need internet, you'll have to tether to your smartphone and use it as a hotspot. Second off, the hotel shares parking with a bar/restaurant/gaming lounge. It is EXTREMELY popular with the locals to the point that the lot will fill up during the evening hours. They have signs reserving spaces for the hotel guests, but they're ignored for the most part. I had to park on the back side of the restaurant then move my car over the next morning to pack up. Third, unless you ask for it they will not service your room. I stayed for three days and it was never refreshed or cleaned. Finally, if you are planning to arrive late call ahead. The guests in the next room over showed after 8:30pm (when the restaurant closed) and had no way to check in.
With all that said, the room was relatively clean. The restaurant did have some very good food at reasonable prices. However, the walls are kind of thin and you will hear the parking lot ambience.
- Stephen (10/5): Mornington inn - Good stay. Convenient location next to the tavern which has fantastic meals. The room however, whilst big, needs some attention. The exhaust fan in the bathroom no longer works. The light in the bathroom flickers badly. The water in the shower at times is luke warm and the bedside light does not work. A few electrical faults rectified and you would have got full stars from us as it doesnt take much for the cleaner to bring these things to your attention or for someone to act on them. Thanks.
- Kerry (10/5): - Our stay was very relaxing and will come again when we come to Hobart for sure.👍👍
- Michael (8/5): - We stayed in a family room and overall it was OK. For the price - I would say it was good. We didn't have any major issues. Hot water was hot, room's heating was adequate to keep us comfortable. The area was not noisy.
There were some small issues here and there (like a kettle that was burnt inside to the stage that you would afraid to use it), or the lock that wasn't secure enough. but as I said - price and location were good. I would stay again if I need.
- Craig (4/5): - Good value rooms but no room service, dirty towels still on the floor when we got back the second day, beds not made.
- Andrew (6/5): - Not bad for the price and convenient for the airport. Basic but clean. Traffic noise was not an issue. Had the Steak and chicken wing combo meal which was pretty awful for $40. Like an old boot and the chcken was probably from the day before. Ended up on the loo for two hours! The salad was fresh though :-)
- Arthur (8/5): - The dining is excellant
- Christina (4/5): - Arrived at 2.30pm, given the key but when we went to the room it hadn’t been clean from the previous guests. They had to check a few rooms before they could find one that was ready.
- Kim (6/5): - Conditions and staff were fine . General cleanliness was fine . Tray cutlery was in was gross and spare blanket in the cupboard had not been washed for some time.
- Sandra (4/5): - The shower was Luke warm without cold water added.
The heat pump was not effective.
The bedside light had a bulb that made it impossible to read
The bathroom had no heater.
The room was very clean
- R (10/5): - It's a convenient stopover place. Value for money. It is what it is. We arrived in Hobart pretty late and required something cheapish that was clean and safe.
- Ian (8/5): - Great for what we wanted, able to access room early.
- Steve (8/5): - My rating is in line with the price being in the lower price range for accommodation. The room was clean as was the bathroom and looked quite modern, Basic room facilities were sufficient did have a little trouble with the air con at first getting heat and the water in shower is just warm. Good facilities adjoin with the pub which has pretty good food can get a bit noisy with pub patrons leaving and is also adjacent to a highway but did not bother me too much
- Allan (8/5): - Price was good, instructions for picking up after hrs key were poor, had to ring security company to find out where to get key
- Jeff (8/5): - Dining handy to accommodation.
However lots of road noise as accommodation situated on corner of major highway.
- Lon (8/5): - Easy access and affordable accommodation.
The dining room is open all day to have an early evening meal.
Meals we're good and reasonably priced.
Very noisy location. Traffic noise for a good part of the evening.
All in all worth a stay for budget accomodations.
- Helen (8/5): - The traffic noise early morning could be heard but a very good location
- Cale (4/5): - Broken bed, no wifi
- Latisha (10/5): - Lovely, and clean and great meals in the bistro.
- Mellissa (10/5): - Staff absolutely fantasic. Great meal. Thank you
- Mark (8/5): - A teaspoon a tea towel and a dustpan would’ve been handy
- Mark (6/5): - Air conditioner was struggling to work properly, found filters to be filthy and hadn't been cleaned in months!
- Marlis (8/5): - Within short distance from Hobart Airport and easy to find. Short distance from shopping centres. Meals at restaurant were enjoyable. Reasonable prices, would stay again.
- Kerry (10/5): - Great place to visit clean great food
- Steve (8/5): - Very clean room at a great price. Bathroom was modern and clean with a great shower.
The property is right next to the highway, so gets noisy with traffic noise from early in the morning, but that is the only downside. I have stayed here twice and will probably stay again…
- Kayley (2/5): - Emailed twice and phoned 6 times (they only answered twice) to arrange late check in, to be told they would text me details, for that not to happen.
Ended up being charge twice, once by them and once by Expedia, (got my refund next morning)
Went to pick my daughter up from airport , to come back and key card not work, phone number on door isn’t for there after hours service (so why have it at all), looked around whole building and no number at doors to call, finally find a number on a key box in badly lit stairwell, to be told should be with you in 20mins, he couldn’t get us in as master key wasn’t in the box it should have been and no master inside main building, to then have to wait a further hour, no manager answering security service, so owners had to come. No apologies from anyone. Got back in our room at 12.30am freezing cold by this point.
Only one bowl in room that can sleep 3 and no spoons, no PC milks for tea or coffee that was supplied.
Over all a very disappointing stay.
- Sharna (8/5): - Very spacious
- Cruise (10/5): - A great cheap and easy place to stay when visiting. Staff are friendly and helpful.
- Mischa (8/5): Good Budget Option - I was surprised at how generally nice this place was for the price - a double a single bed, each made up very nicely, fresh clean linen and towels and decent bathroom.
The aircon was in fairly old shoddy condition, the screen was unable to be read hence temperature altered effectively; the free-to-air channels limited, but they did have a TV; and while there was a decent sized fridge, kettle and toaster, the only spoon provided was bent to the extent that it was clear it had been used to mix something stronger than caffeine prior to my visit.
The service was also pretty good - and the view from the window, except at peak hour when the traffic noise from the intersection drowned out all other senses, was pretty nice. Oh and it is right on the bus route.
- Daniel (6/5): Tasmania Road trip - Location is west of airport. Check-in guy was great and super fast. Great hot water. Room # 11. worst room. You are at the end of the building you are next to the on and off ramp and next to the highway, VERY NOISY. Very loud! Queen bed, very clean room. 10 KM to the airport, very good airport hotel. Very cold refrigerator. No elevator. A casanio directly across the parking lot. Parking directly below the room. Chilled beer glasses in refrig, very nice touch. Good budget accomodation close to the airport. NO WIFI IN THE ROOM.
- John (10/5): - Fantastic accommodation good price, food was very reasonable and great quality. Stay again for sure.
John and Prue
- leigh (8/5): - Fantastic room, excellent restaurant convenience plus ,friendly happy staff, happy to assist
- Janne (8/5): - Close to airport
- Elizabeth (4/5): - We did not get a cleaner for our room while we stayed there, we had dirty dishes everywhere. We asked if there were cooking facilities and said yes, but there were not any.
We asked the manager for help with our situation but she was not helpful at all. We would never stay there again.
- Janne (10/5): - Easy stop from the airport and easy to get into the center of Hobart
- Dianne (2/5): - The place was dirty, could not get the beds changed the whole time we stayed.
Beds need to be replaced.
The cleaner was helpful and gave us new towel.
I would not recommend this Inn to anyone.
We left early did not stay our full booking.
- stacey (4/5): - Needs work, no remote, fan not working in bathroom, lamps not working. A unit with a kitchen but No teatowel, No extra garbage bags supplied, No extra toilet rolls. All glasses, mugs, cutlery had to be washed before using due to unclean.
- ANGELIQUE (2/5): - The drain in the shower was blocked and the water literally ran out of the bathroom out the front door - I was just in time to stop it from wetting the carpet in the bedroom area.
Although the staff was lovely when we arrived and gave us a “curry” butter chicken as the kitchen was already closed when our flight landed, the facility lacked some stuff. The rooms seemed to be fairly new and freshly renovated but the water was only luke warm and ran out of the shower.
- Liz (8/5): - Shower had stained grout
- morgane (4/5): - Ok hotel, can do with a good clean
- Kristyn (8/5): - Unfortunately the room I booked was flooded so I had a smaller room
- Chelsea (4/5): - It’s fine. Technically has all you need - bed, shower, bathroom. Tv didn’t work. Heater didn’t heat the room. Pub next door so evening might be loud with guests. Convenient location
- Michelle (6/5): - They are currently renovating and should have notified guests. We did not end up staying. The new rooms look amazing and I am sure will be fabulous once everyone is finalised.
- Len (6/5): - Budget overnight stay. You get what you pay for.
Did the job
- Hayley (8/5): - Clean and comfortable, though the toilet seat is odd, probably needs updating or changing. Good price, however there was no shampoo or conditioner, tissues or milk provided, possibly just a mistake in communication.
It would also be nice if more than three channels worked on the TV in the room.
Other than that, a nice stay.
- Kym (10/5): - Food is yummy and cheap
- Gregorius (4/5): - The room dirry. Luckily bed sheet and towel still ok. Helpful staff after my flight delay. Heater didn' work well too.Not a good place go stay on winter.
- Isabelle (2/5): - Never been to a motel that had no doona. Only had a polyester throw under a sheet which was completely inadequate for a Hobart winter. Requested another blanket/throw only to be begrudgingly given another by the senior manager. When that wasn’t enough, the female manager declined another saying they didn’t have any more spares, despite many rooms being unoccupied and the wardrobes being full of extra throws/blankets. Overall, a terrible experience and we would not recommend this motel to anyone.
- Anthony (8/5): - Food is terrific
- Michael (8/5): - Convenient location. Easy parking. Rooms clean & tidy.
- Anthony (8/5): - Thankyou for assistance with a late arrival, and waiting back to meet us.
- Seng Ann (6/5): - Simple and basic motor inn. Room was cleaned and tidy but no wifi connection.
There was no cleaning service during the stay even though we hang-out the sign.
Overall don't set your expectations too high like a hotel, otherwise this is ok
- Nadezhda (6/5): - Like: Rooms were spaceous, and the beds were comfortable.
Did Not Like: only one hanger in the wardrobe. No hairdryer. Cleaner did not come every day, consequently our bath mat was soaking wet, and the bin was overflowing.
- Jonathan Rodrigues Dos (8/5): - It was simple and easy to check in and check out. Cheap and great price, close to everything.
We didn't like that breakfast just opened up at 10am and that the shower was full of mould.
- Marilyn (10/5): - Quiet, no issues, toilet seat a bit strange but all good.
- Shirley (4/5): - This property did NOT live up to expectation as shown in brochures. There was black mould in the bathroom above the hand basin and shower which is a health hazard. In my room we did have a spare pillow and blanket, but my son's room did not. The rooms backed onto a very busy traffic roundabout which makes them extremely noisy at peak hours, and makes it difficult to exit onto the road. Would NOT recommend at all. Very disappointing.
- Andre (4/5): - The room was not properly cleaned. Carpet was dirty and bathroom had mould in the shower.
- Judy (4/5): - Nice shower, one staff member was lovely and the cleaner was lovely. The other girls were quite rude and arrogant.Rooms were super noisy and could here the banging of the water running.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Convenient and the dining was wonderful.
Bathroom:: Showers could be cleaner in room 2.
- Reg (8/5): - The room & facilities and it was good value for money
- Michael (10/5): - Very convenient to Hobart Airport
- Matthieu (6/5): - We stayed 3 nights in this hotel.
The staff is nice, very easy to have access the room. The bed are confortable.
The bedroom itself was clean.
However, the bathroom was not, we could see the traces on the tiles, we found hairs in the shower...
The fridge wasn't clean too. We found leaked milk in it, the bottle of water was half empty, and there was a smell from this fridge.
The price for the booking is cheap but please you need to pay mote attention to theses details.
- Russell (8/5): - Property was clean and convenient. Midway between airport and Hobart CBD.
- Denise (10/5): - The restaurant was handy for dinner.
- Manon (6/5): - Good location but the windows are not good enough to reduce the sound of the highway.
The shower and the fridge were not clean.
- Clinton (4/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was terrible.
Even given the price.
There was hair in the shower and mould on shower walls.
The hand towel had a very obvious stain on it (would easily be seen when thrown in the washing machine).
Holes in the plaster. Unpainted repairs in the plaster.
Air con filter was more than a cm thick with dust, same with bathroom exhaust fan.
There was a stain on the double bed sheet.
The cutlery tray for the kitchenette was broken.
I didn't expect luxury for the price at all, but cleanliness.... Come on. Pick the game up. My 11 old son wanted to clean it up.
