Otherwise very good set up and amenities in room. spacious with two double beds and large bathroom. provided secure room to keep bikes which was very helpful. given the number of cyclists/triathletes to the area it's probably worth asking on check-in if people have bikes, as like others we didn't read the full guide in the room.

Everything we needed was supplied and I would have to say the motel room was the cleanest and tidiest motel room we have ever stayed in.....we have stayed at a great deal of places over the years. While sitting outside at the table and chairs just outside the room door we were asked by the owner if everything was to our liking? Everything was nothing short of perfect and we fully recommend anyone looking for a place to stay in Taupo to book at this motel. We WILL definitely be back again soon. Thank You sooo much for a wonderful stay.

Ron, the innkeeper, was very attentive and suggested places to eat. Just a couple of minutes walk to lots of restaurants on the waterfront.

They rung to see how far away we were, told us to please take our time and drive safely as they would stay open until we got there. The accomodation is so close to town and we will be back.

- Gary (10/5): - The rooms were very clean, owners were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. They recommended places to visit and gave time frames to complete the recommendation, allowing you to either complete or cancel what you planned to do. Also recommending local resteruants to eat. Overall a very enjoyable experience, I would recommend the lodge to anyone.

- Rudy (10/5): Ideal stop for Taupo - Our experience with the lodge could not have been better: room was clean and comfortable, high speed internet and just a block from the lake. We had a taxi fail to show up when we were headed to the airport and the hotel owner kindly drove us. We won’t forget the favor!

- Sher (8/5): Quiet motel with great location. - This motel is two blocks from town and about two blocks from the lake. We stayed in a room tucked away in the corner and it was extremely quiet. Every room was occupied and there was a road quite near the bedroom but no noise penetrated the room. The bathroom was a lovely size and really appreciated the "make-up" face cloth. The layout of the room was also very clever with a tv in the main lounge area and the double bedroom but with the bathroom in the middle so that the rooms were separated.
- Bubbly Kiwi (8/5): Nice complex super close to town - We were made to feel very welcome on arrival . The owner provided plenty of information on surrounding restaurants including the one on the premises. We dined there on our first night and the food and service were fabulous. Our unit was a little dated however was spacious, very well equipped and clean and tidy. The central location meant we had an easy stroll into town for dining and shopping and similarly the lake was within walking distance. Well priced accommodation and whilst not sparking new it represented good value for money and the owner who we talked with was super friendly and helpful.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Very friendly and helpful management - The Motel was bursting with young people and their parents in town for a sports event when we arrived. The manager in a very friendly manner immediately offered us a solution to our immediate parking needs, and ensured we had space when we returned from work after midnight. Further when hearing of our long working hours he offered to ensure the heating made the room cosy for our return, which he did. Best of all he offered to turn the electric blanket on on our bed so the bed was a warm haven after along day. Thank you.
- Ann (8/5): Comfortable room and great location - Spent two nights here and it was very comfortable. Beds comfy close to shops and restaurants. Only one street away from Lake Taupo.
- Zed (8/5): Thoughtful hosts - We were late arriving (check-in closes at 8pm) and in a bit of a fluster as we were heading to a family funeral and just got back into the country the same day. The operator had kindly sent us a text but as we were en route we weren't checking the phone ... so there was also a note taped to the reception door telling us where to find our key. Very much appreciated. Although we arrived late and left early, we appreciated the spacious, comfortable room - and spacious, comfortable bed. I was sorry we didn't have the chance to try out the spa bath,

- Dutchie (6/5): Motel is close to town centre and to lake Taupo. - We arrived early, but somehow ended up with the worst situated and damp smelling unit. We hoped that the smell would disappear leaving windows ajar, and having the airco on, while visiting town. I complained a couple of hours later on our return about the smell, showed the unit to the manager, who swiftly put us in an upgraded unit. This part was mostly appreciated. It is however still a puzzle to me why nobody knew about this problem, even assuming that it might have been caused by the heavy rain from some days earlier. There was a coffee plunger in the unit, but no coffee. Couldn't get a reply at the reception in the morning to get some coffee, and felt obliged to buy some coffee "on the go". On my return the manager was doing his rounds and supplied a sachet of coffee. Our upgraded unit was comfortable and clean, nice bed in separate bedroom, a spa bath and lounge area. People without airco experience might have found resetting the "swing" and fan speed a problem. When we arrived the swing was directly aimed at settee. It might pay to have some instructions handy.

- Abbey (10/5): Perfect Central Hotel ❤️ - We had the most amazing trip, centred around this place. We walked into town several times, we walked down to the lake. The staff were friendly, even giving suggestions of things to do. The room was clean and tidy when we arrived and cleaned each day. The pillows were fantastic! We spent a good portion of our evenings/afternoons watching tv because it felt so comfortable and homely. Really really recommend!

- J (6/5): Central in taupo - For a budget Motel centrally located this was OK. Kitchenette is cramped. If you do not smoke be warned the smoke from those next door smoking outside seeps into your room even with windows and blinds closed. Only a small 2 seat sofa which means if 2 in the room get cosy or someone has to sit at dining table. Website says laundry facuilities included not true you have to pay.

- ck (8/5): Great stay in town - The prince motor lodge is one block away from the confusion of Taupo holiday chaos. It is roomy, quiet and has everything you need in one complex. The added Thai restaurant gives guests more options. The bed while soft was so comfy and the air conditioning meant that you could regulate the temperature to your comfort. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The other guests were quiet and considerate. Would I stay here again? Definitely!

- Chas (6/5): Convenient and Clean - Stayed one night in a 1 bedroom unit. First impression was that the room was very clean and tidy and all furnishings were in good condition. Bathroom is excellent, very roomy and clean, and for once, the lighting, particularly above the bathroom vanity/mirror was excellent! It was nice to have the spa bath however this benefit backfired when we attempted to get some sleep at 10.30pm. This was difficult because the sound of the spa in the neighboring room could be heard through the wall! This is the main concern I have about staying here again.
