• Avedis (1/5): Horrible sleepless night! - The room, location in Manly, facilities were all good. What wasn't good was the very very load music that was on the floor above. We were in room 117 and directly above us was a night club//disco/whatever, which play very load thumping music till 3AM in the morning. We did not get any sleep at all. when we booked the stay we should have been told there is very load music on a Saturday night and we would reconsidered booking a stay there. Very very poor experience and i personally would never book a stay at the Steyne, nor would i recommend it to anyone.

Os quartos não são limpos diariamente poem os lençóis para cima (só se não estiver literalmente nada em cima da cama) e trocam as toalhas. As carpetes cheias de pó em todo o lado não são aspiradas. Tive que ameaçar não voltar para ter o quarto aspirado. Os pratos e loiça de pequeno almoço sempre suja tanto que é preciso pedir diretamente um set limpo pois os que estão à disposição são indescritíveis. Os funcionários do pequeno almoço são rudes e muito muito pouco profissionais. O pequeno almoço é feito de vouchers sendo que cada pessoa pode escolher um prato do menu, sem bebida incluída e o café que está a disposição veio com bichos…. A receção é conforme apetece trabalhar, chegamos para o check in e tinham fechado mesmo sabendo que chegava uma reserva (por acaso o senhor do bar conseguiu ajudar). Há dias em que não está ninguém e outros em que mudam de sítio sem avisar os hóspedes. Uma desorganização total! É também preciso ter cuidado com os quartos porque existem vários sem luz natural (sem janelas) e não avisam, tive de reclamar e ameaçar fazer uma reclamação séria para trocar para um com janela. A localização é um 10/10 mas de facto não compensa o resto com tantas opções à volta.

Tea and coffee machine didn't make water hot enough. Room too small, no chair , probably no room for one though. I know you get what you pay for but despite great location i would not stay there again. seems the hotel happy to make$ from drinks and food and neglect accommodation.

• Jorge (8/5): Amazing stay in Manly! Exceeded expectations. - Exceeded expectations. The room was very stylish, clean and surprisingly very quiet for the location. The shower drain wasn’t draining properly, causing water to spread all over the bathroom.

• Tito (3/5): Bad - Only good for morning breakfast and evening meal with a view. Absolute fire hazard. If a fire breaks out, guests in room are stuck trying to find their way through the maze like hallways and lack of exit doors. Mattresses are old. Had sore back and couldn't sleep well due to mattresses sinking you in and the continuous noise from bar above and below. Took 5 days to get my deposit back. They made excuses and lied about why uts delay. Will never stay there again and will tell people not to stay there.

I had 2 different rooms and there were cockroaches and the noise and smoke in my first room was terrible and the 2nd night was even worse, The bathroom window which opened into a courtyard had the light on and flashing all night. they did not have a blind on the window so therefore it came through the glass door straight into the bedroom. No sleep for 2 nights do yourself a favour and do not stay at the Steyne Hotel.

Secondly it is really hard to flush the toilet if you are staying with other people as the toilet is so loud to flush you kept waking people up.

It would be nice to have a reciprocal arrangement with Council to have car parking validated and discounted or free if staying as a guest in the hotel. We spent an additional $209 on car parking for the weekend.
• Debra (1/5): Thank god it was only one night. - The location was good but the hotel had multiple bars, was not very clean, had bouncers on the entrances. It was very noisy and my room must have been over a very noisy venue as my pillows literally vibrated until 4 in the morning. The air conditioning failed that day so no back up procedures were in place and our room was like an oven. We were offered a full refund but over a month later I’m still waiting to see it. The noise until approximately 4:00 in the morning. The cleanliness of the crockery - coffee cups were Roland when we asked for clean ones someone came out and just wiped them with an old cloth. When we asked if they could be cleaned properly we were told that they weren’t allowed to use detergent. We didn’t bother with coffee after that.

• smithy2678 (2/5): DO NOT GO HERE. Go THE IVANHOE! - DO NOT GO HERE! Awful dinner, I went the NY cut 250g steak. Awful. It is really hard to stuff up BBQing a rare steak. Steyne Hotel has not only achieved this, they turned it into a Gordon Ramsay Masterclass of poxy shiite. Cold chewy and tasteless frightfully watery gravy. My wife went the prawn tacos. A special place in hell is given to cardboard masquerading as pescatorial nutrition. This get the elevator treatment straight down man. Ambience is extreme loud doof doof. Busy day in Manly on Good Friday and the place was half empty. You can understand why. Go to the Ivanhoe.

• Simon (10/5): - Location, you can’t get better than that. It was very noisy, as the pub was open til 5am. However, once we were asleep, it didn’t disturb us, as we are heavy sleepers.

• Nikki (6/5): Good location for a short stay - Great location, easy access to shops, beach and restaurants Wasn’t aware the hotel was under renovation when we booked, the window was boarded up letting no light in so the room was quite dark. The aircon was no good it didn’t cool so it was very warm in the room.

• Michelle (7/5): It was good - Clean and great location The fridge wasnt cold, the cover to the electrical system was exposed, was reported and not fixed. Very noisy.
• Janette (7/5): Surprisingly adequate - Location especially as we were attending a function at the venue The noise Into the early hours. And I mean 3am onto 4. The music was loud but bearable but the loud voices from down stairs echoing from the street was enough to not stay here again.

• John (6/5): Great venue and staff let down by the quality of the rooms. - Location is amazing, as were the staff. I liked the wireless changing clock radio, the items in the bar fridge and the TV and choice of channels. The shower was nice as were the bathroom appointments. My room had no windows that you could look out of. The bathroom had a flashing light outside the window 24/7. The lights beside the bed were flickering. There was noise until very late, and I had to sleep with a pillow over my head.
• Xanthe (8/5): Friendly staff and clean room and was fine for one night - The hotel is in the heart of Manly. The room was clean and bathroom clean and modern The rooms are above a bar so expect some noise. We stayed one night so was fine. The room is small without a window but aircon worked fine.
• Eric (9/5): - Super Lage direkt am Strand in der Fußgängerzone. Restaurants und Imbis direkt nebenan. Der Preis ist gut. Liegt sicher auch daran, dass das Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Kapsel Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer. Frühstück gab es in dem Restaurant / Bar im Hause. Dafür gab es einen Gutschein vom Hotel. Frühstück war dann a la card. Überschaubar. Wir hatten den Burger gewählt mit Speck, Ei, Käse und Rösti. War dann ausreichend für den Start in den Tag. Den Kaffee beim Frühstück sollte man etwas mit löslichem Kaffee aufpimpen.

• Bonita (8/5): Good quality, no frills place to stay in an historic hotel in a central Manly location. - Small, but good quality. Can be noisy in the weekend, but it’s downtown Manly in a weekend, so would expect it. Noise. But survivable.
• Julie (7/5): Can’t fault location and facilities - only negative is the noisy nightlife - probably not an issue if you’re a younger p - Clean and comfortable room. Lovely renovations. Yummy brekky included. Top location right across from Manly beach and right on the mall, close to ferry to circular quay. Being a hotel and staying Saturday night it was very noisy in my room. Loud music and crowds until 2am so not a great night sleep.
