Guest Reviews
- Serena (10/5): Lovely, cosy and clean tiny home - Very cosy and clean, had everything I needed. Cabins are a little bit close to each other so sometimes need to keep the blinds down for privacy
- grayson (6/5): - Nice quiet spot because it was a Thursday night there was no one at the park, and grate view of the milking way
- Pegah (8/5): -
- Kelly and Edi (10/5): Beautiful county escape - Location, size of property, privacy. Nothing
- Kate (10/5): Clean & Simple - Jill at checkin was warm and friendly.
Great location. Easy to get to. 10min out of Stanthorpe. Beautiful natural surroundings. A lovely view of the dam. A great variety of birdlife. Spacious sites for all accommodation types. Great ammenities blocks (kitchens, toilets, showers, coin operated laundry) etc.
The tiny home was modern, clean and tidy. Everything you could need for a quiet night away. Nice linens and a funky little patio area. The tiny homes shower hot water system was a little temperamental, but otherwise good.
- Karen (8/5): Nice quiet spot for a weekend stay - Nice, quiet location only a short 15 minute drive to the centre of Stanthorpe. Very friendly check in staff. Clean facilities and amenities block. Clearly very popular given the Saturday seemed extremely busy.
- Fiona (9/5): -
- William (9/5): - very quiet and clean
- Scott (10/5): -
- Romee (10/5): -
- Delia (8/5): The receptionist was very lovely. - Relaxed and peaceful. Cabin wobbles too much and are too close to each other.
- Kerry (6/5): -
- Tony (10/5): - The wild birds came down and had breakfast with me.
Butcher birds and Magpies. I had to work and couldn't stay longer.
- Scott (10/5): -
- Nils (10/5): Great place to enjoy some peace and quiet! - Very nice, secluded spot with a great setup for enjoying a few days away from the city. If the neighbouring veranda lights stay on at night, the projection kinda spoil’s a view of the night sky. But that’s nothing major.
- Michael (10/5): - Located perfectly for our adventures in the area.
Quiet location which is what we love Night time outside could see the stars and the Milky way which was so beautiful. Would be nice if the cabin was updated with their own toilet and bathroom and put fly screens on the cabin door.
- Jon (10/5): -
- Hillary (9/5): Beautiful overnight spot, close to Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock national parks - Beautiful rural location on the shores of the dam, surrounded by bush land with kangaroos and other wildlife. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff who gave me some great tips on local attractions. My cabin was rustic but comfortable and clean. Ammenities block was spotless. Lovely property to walk around in the late afternoon light. It would have been great if the cabin had an insect screen door so that the glass door could be left open at night to let the cool breeze in and keep the insects and other wildlife out. Some other guests played loud music into the night, which was such a pity in such a beautiful, unspoilt spot - and otherwise, tranquil spot.

- Joh (9/5): Nice motel room in the bush - Lots of wide open space and no traffic sounds It would be nice to have hire kayaks. I didn’t like the view of the watertanks from my tiny house- it would be good if it could be obscured by trees and landscaping. Also the tiny homes are so close together, so it feels a lot more like a motel than a tranquil bush escape but for my purposes this trip that was fine.
- Matthew (8/5): - Nice Spot to stay for working at an event in Stanthourpe As described. The Cabin we were in had a very squeaky floor which made it very hard to walk without waking my fellow guests. WiFi did not work for me at the cabin either. We had to go over near the office to get signal to work.
- Claire (9/5): Excellent value tiny house surrounded by peace & wildlife - Very good value, peaceful & a great location Not much! Maybe didn’t need the cook rings.
- Jop (9/5): This is a beautiful well-run place that is ideal for a countryside escape and for exploring the sensational Girraween Na - The tiny house was cute, comfortable and complete. The location is beautiful. The staff was very helpful and responsive. The toilet in the tiny house was a bit awkward and there was no toilet brush.

- Patricia (9/5): -
- Lucas (7/5): Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ausbaufähig - Mini-Küche in der Hütte
- Alex (9/5): -
- Kathy Ann (7/5): Read the details on the facilities carefully before booking - I should have read the details better because this was definitely not what I was looking for. I read it as being an ensuite cabin, but there was no ensuite - in fact, we couldn't even work out where the amenities were, we were so far away from everything. The cabin itself was clean and could definitely have worked for us if it had air conditioning (heatwave conditions are pretty normal for Australia, and we weren't booking a tent, we were booking a cabin)... and if they facilities were closer for night walks to use the bathroom. No air conditioning, and no screen on the door to even allow air flow. The TV didn't work, it was located in the middle of nowhere, it was so far out of town that we decided to simply check straight back out again and book accomodation in town instead of driving out to get food and come back. I particularly hated the auto-generated emails telling us how much they loved hosting us without even acknowledging that the beds hadn't even been slept in! The only reason I gave it a higher rating than it deserved is because

- Michelle (8/5): -
- Tessa (8/5): Short stay2 nights - It's quite and gorgeous the staff were lovely and very accommodating the grounds are very nice Nothing i love it there
- Sharon (10/5): Beautiful tranquil setting right on the waters edge. - The cottages being in their own location away from the rest of the park was so peaceful right on the water of the Storm King dam.
- Thomas (7/5): -
- Debbie Trenerry (7/5): -
- Kirsty (9/5): Quiet, serene bush escape for those who love the outdoors. - Loved this little place. Great location. The staff were fabulous. Cleanliness could be improved.
- NGUYEN (5/5): -
- Michele (8/5): Good size 2 bedroom house - The house we stayed at (No.4) was clean and comfortable. Beds comfortable. Good view of the Storm King Dam.
Pool close the the house was great. Good BBQ (Weber) sufficient for our needs. Great outside balcony with nice table and chairs. We could not get the TV to work. More cutlery/crockery was needed otherwise have to wash up after every meal which is a waste of water/energy.
- Paul (8/5): Just what we needed - Loved how big the space felt and everything we needed was there, also loved the little verandah as it was good for star gazing!
- Anna (6/5): - Lady in the office was so lovely and gave us some pointers with things we were planning to do. Park was tidy and clean and lovely next to the dam. Amenities were clean and tidy. Showers are on a timer of 5 minutes which was plenty of time to shower but you did have to fiddle with the temperature a bit as it go hot or cold so took a few goes to get it just right. Cabin didnt have aircon and was really hot and we had no screen door so couldnt leave the door open to get a breeze as all the bugs came in. Needed shade where you sit outside. The cabin was clean but its a bit run down.
- Amber (8/5): -
- Gary (10/5): - The tiny house was set up.very well and on a lovely property. The WiFi didn't work, and the cabins could have been a bit more private.
- Bianca (10/5): - Love the whole place and its tiny home experience Nothing
- NinJane (8/5): It was a pleasant place to stay in general. - The staff is very helpful with my enquiries. Great service, landscapes, and cabins. The wifi is very unstable, especially weekend when there were more guests there.
- Loveday (10/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): The tiny house has everything you need for a short stay and the location is fantastic overlooking the dam. -
- Arthur Erwin (10/5): Very nice scenery beautiful. - Grandson enjoyed the little huts. Quiet and country side. Need to come back as we had commitments on this weekends. Will inform our daughters and family. None
- Deb (9/5): -
- Cath (9/5): -
- Kirsten (8/5): - Good location, great facilities and everything was very clean and accessible
- Zubair (10/5): -
- Vicki (10/5): Great - Management was fantastic
- Heather (9/5): - Very clean and tidy. Lovely host
- Simpson (10/5): Lovely relaxing enjoyable stay.Highly recommended. - The tiny home was cute and comfortable Leaving
- Jay (10/5): -
- Macaulay (5/5): - Temperature in cabin on arrival, too hot
- Angelene (6/5): Cute little spot, nice amenities but remote (great if you want to be off grid!) - Property is in a peaceful, quiet and pretty location Unfortunately no internet, Telstra was patchy, download before you go
- Sarah (10/5): - Had a lovely kayak on the lake. Limited WiFi in that area so good for keeping young people off their devices.
- Janet (6/5): Disappointing - never again staying in a tiny cottage! - Nice area with green spaces Basically a tiny studio cabin - with poor insulation! I can’t see how the claims about tiny places being more sustainable can be true - boiling hot during the day and freezing cold at night. A full kitchen is an overstatement. There were no outdoor bbqs at the campsite. Tiny mobile cottages is a gimmick that I hope will be over soon.
- Lizzie (10/5): -
- Greg (10/5): -
- Hanson (9/5): Accomodation was good for a short stay. - Close to Attractions Lack of trees
- Kerri (10/5): - Super clean
- Lucia (10/5): - The location was great. The cabin was very spacious, perfect for families, and we loved the fireplace. We will definitely be back.
- Denice (7/5): Good -
- David (7/5): Misleading advertising - Falsely advertised by booking.com as instanthorpe was in. Fact 20 minutes from town
- Keith (6/5): Pleasant Short Stay - "Tiny Away Escape @ Granite Belt" is quietly secluded on the banks of Storm King Dam only a short country drive from Stanthorpe. A tiny cabin (ie a fixed-site caravan) with a small exterior patio and the cozy interior that has a comfortable queen-sized bed and basic kitchenette facilities as well as a good shower and plenty of hot water. Budget accommodation good for a couple of nights. Cassette toilet.
- Isaeli (8/5): Very good - Location, whether Missing inf with the keys
- Brett (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (1/5): Traumatized from this shithole! - No breakfast , nothing Not secure box which has a portable loo and shower. Leaked water, electricity via a cord in the trees, not anchored down, unsafe deck, rolled in bed and the entire cabin almost tripped over and shook, ridiculously over priced and to top it off the owners sent a text message at 7 am Sunday morning with a list of jobs
- Adel (8/5): Very good -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Everything you need and relaxing surrounds
- Tonymon (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Janine (10/5): Great location, lovely people, awesome stay - Great location. Close to everything in the Stanthorpe region but once at Sommerville, you fee like you are miles away from anywhere and in the countryside.
- Edgtton (10/5): Beautiful and comfortable stay! We can't wait to come back! - Beautiful and peaceful location with Storm King Dam on the doorstep of the cabin. Lots of nature surrounding the cabins. And the highlight for the kids was spotting the rabbits jumping around at night time and finding their little burrows during the day. Cabins were clean and were larger than expected. Kitchen well equipped to be able to make meals. Wood heater kept the cabin warm on a very cold few days. Very very limited to no Wi-Fi and no mobile reception. The lack of mobile reception was mainly noticeable when we needed to communicate with friends staying in a nearby cabin. Going from one cabin to the other at night in the freezing cold to communicate wasn't ideal.
- Janet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - The calmness of the location, the cleanliness of the facilities and the very accommodating staff. Nothing to do with the site itself, more with booking.com. when I booked, there were no photos of the non ensuite cabins only the 2 bedroom resort cabins on the water which was very misleading. As it was so close to our booking date when we realised what our ACTUAL accommodation was, it was too late to book anything else as there was a festival and all accommodation was booked out.
I spoke to the staff directly at the accommodation and they also voiced that this had been raised with booking.com several times and booking.com had yet to update the details.
- Lanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ross (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Mada (9/5): Superb -
- Natalie (9/5): Very lovely tiny house to stay in - Clean and peaceful Hot water wasn’t staying hot enough
- Ruby (10/5): Exceptional -
- J (8/5): Very good -
- Conon (9/5): Superb -
- Gray (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zac (7/5): ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! 5 STARS ☆☆☆☆☆ - The location is beautiful! The staff are friendly and very helpful, everything is clean and tidy! Great value for money!!! We will be staying here again in the future! No reception and the wifi doesnt work, could have a small TV in the room or something along those lines, but apart from that, NOTHING i didnt like!
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Owen (9/5): Superb! - Staff very helpful and friendly. Pippa was superb! As an added extra would have been good if the Office had some basic necessities to buy e.g. milk, bread, etc.
- Jenny (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (9/5): Great overnight option - Great location, seemed brand new. Excellent staff. Muddlement with booking… but staff sorted it out very well.
- Tiffany (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing - Location
- Dan (10/5): We loved it and would love to come back another time! - The cabins were spacious and very clean. Loved the location as it is right on the water's edge of the dam. I liked that the cabins weren't too close to each other, and they were positioned at angles that you're not looking into each other's windows. The fire kept us warm day and night. It was so nice that we didn't need to worry about wood for the fire either. We liked it was away from the Town but only 10 minutes away if we needed it and it was central around lots of National Parks for walks. The weather:)
