Guest Reviews
- Ana (7/5): I would come back. - Big space! Please ask if you can come in to clean. We were caught by surprise! Also your mosquito nets have holes :( A bit of construction noise as well. Some things need to be replaced because they are very old such as the bridge, and sun umbrellas.
- Steffen (10/5): Beyond imagination!!!! - It’s a DREAM!!!!!!!!!! It was just perfect!!!!
- Jian (8/5): -
- Hisham (10/5): Idyllic and peaceful - lots of space and privacy. - Spacious and comfortable. Kids loved the pool (it’s deep though). In a relatively quieter part of town with quality coffee and food on many corners in walking distance (or hire a motor scooter). More expats than tourists live here I think.
Agus and team were fantastic and looked after our needs and wants. We loved the privacy. There is some development next door but I believe privacy will remain.
Thalasah seseh on the beach is a nice spot for food at sunset within 5 mins walk. We also rode one suburb over (north) and found a temple on a rocky outcrop off the beach with lots of cool warrungs overlooking the water and Japanese fusion restaurant next to the temple. We loved it. You’ll have to manage a few mosquitoes - but agus and the team help by putting mosquito coils out too
- Norma Leslie (10/5): -
- Olaf (9/5): - A beautiful place to stay. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Location was good, nice cafes within walking distance. We walked from seseh beach all the way to canggu beach, was easy and don't have to stuck in the crazy traffic. Overall, it was a nice quiet serene place to stay in.
- Hannah (10/5): Perfect for families who want a chilled stay ☀️🌴 - Beautiful villa in a lovely quiet location. Beautiful design, we loved it. Ten minutes walk to nearest beach. Manager and team couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend Ayra the driver who made sure we could see all the highlights of Bali.
- mikayla (9/5): Such a lovely stay here, we would have loved to stay longer. Just beautiful! - This property is absolutely beautiful. Everything was very clean. The owner Agus was amazing and made sure our stay was just perfect. The food was lovely which was great that we didn’t have to leave in search of food. Be prepared to have an outdoor bathroom. But it was so beautiful and clean it was a relaxing experience.
- Noura (10/5): - The room was amazing the villa was lovely and quiet.. the bool was fantastic.. needs more lighting at night but when u wake up in morning its heaven .. little far from the city

- Joost (10/5): -
- Stefanie (9/5): -
- April (8/5): - The pool and property was nice. View was beautiful but could do with some housekeeping.
- Lauckner (10/5): -
- Sam Montgomery (10/5): -
- Erin (9/5): - Great rooms and outdoor kitchen and private pool 🙌🏼 highly recommend. Didn't worry me but I'm traveling solo.with kids and there was no TV. Only down side.
- Sophie (8/5): -
- Graham (7/5): - The design Needs maintenance as things are aging.
- Tamara (8/5): Good value for money, we enjoyed our stay! - The pool was very nice and clean, the garden is beautiful full grown and there are al lot of birds en squirrels coming for a visit :) We as a family enjoyed our stay! We stayed in house 3. It’s beautiful build, but a little bit outdated now. Tourism is growing fast in the area so there is a lot of building going on in the neighborhood. Therefore the view and privacy is becoming less than original. That being said it’s sure good value for money!
Good to know that the two bedrooms are next to each other but not connected. Ideal for two couples or friends. We as a family found it a little bit uncomfortable to let the kids sleep in a room alone but off course this is a personal preference. (We splitted up the adults so that every child was accompanied by a parent, it worked out fine).
- Jasper (6/5): Pleasant - It’s very old. Pool looks weird. I didn’t dare to swim.
Bathroom is overgrown with nature
- Yuki (7/5): Nice stuffs - Spacious property The pool was stagnated looking and not clear. We didn’t go into the pool…..
- Anastasiia (10/5): Nice vibe, good location - The villa is huge and unique in Indonesian style Pool need more cleaning
- Wendy (10/5): Pure relaxation - Everything was wonderful. Space, location. Attentive staff. Pool
- Graham (8/5): Overall I enjoyed my time at Tamu Seseh. The villa and its location fit the brief for my visit to the Canggu area. - The setting was traditional, and found the villa very peaceful and pleasant in a quiet location.
I liked the fish pond and water features. Agus and his staff were polite and helpful. Not much. I could not lock the villa yard from the outside. The booking.com pictures were outdated. As there were no adjacent rice fields which had attracted me.
- Jan (5/5): Host knows - Beautiful garden and veranda. Bicycles came in handy. Angus and staff were very helpful. We’ll be back after ‘progress’ and refurbishment to the villa has been completed. Host knows. Needs to adapt photos at booking site and own site to current reality. The situation has changed dramatically die to what people euphemistically call progress.
- Hovhannes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (9/5): we found the experience a good one everything we needed was there. the location is a quiet one. - As soon as we pulled up in the taxi a lady came out and met us and took us to our villa There wasn't really anything that we didnt like - maybe a bit of love needed it looked a little run down
- Debbie (8/5): Very good -
- Wilhelmina (10/5): Loved it, stay here! - Gorgeous villa, old style Balinese setting with big open living area with natural pool and beautiful plants, flowers, butterflies and squirrels. Several places to sit and big bedrooms with good airco and mosquitonets. Outdoor bathrooms with pleasant complimentary bath products. Staff were super friendly and discreet but immediately available when needed. We were allowed to stay a couple of hours longer when our transport was delayed. Quiet location near a quiet beach (Seseh) where you can find a lovely little beach bar with sunbeds and good food. Lots of nice breakfast places around. Complimentary mountainbike usage which are great for touring around the rice paddies that were closeby.
- Susan (8/5): Very good - The communication by Agus prior to us arriving was very prompt and informative and the service provided by him was amazing. He dropped us off at a particular destination for no cost and was amenable to doing so again and dropped the mosquito nets around our bed (even though we did not detect any mossies) when we returned late. Only a small issue but the blinds need fixing which would have allowed us to get more light into the room.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lea (10/5): Exceptional - The villa is so relaxing. It has everything you need to recharge your batteries. I love the separate sleeping pavilion and the outside bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful. The In-house menu has quite a variety, and the meals are delicious. Easy walk to the beach and Cafe, or a stroll through the village is always enjoyable. Progress has removed the beautiful views overlooking the rice paddies..
- Myra (9/5): It's a lovely stay at Villa Seseh. Villa host accommodating with great facilities, value for money - The room is spacious, lots of amenities, villa host is very accommodating and the villa is also quite private from each other. Great villa for staycation/away from the Canggu crowd! Floors feels like not been swept, which requires you to wear indoors sandal all the time. The interconnected rooms also makes you have to think about hygiene or cleanliness if you were to bring children to this villa/value hygiene. TV doesn't work, lights weren't too bright.
- Phannakon (7/5): Great place to stay and quietly area. Convenience to access to busy area. - Convenience, Quiet, and Staff is friendly. Shower outdoor
- Aliesha (9/5): Superb -
- Emily (8/5): A wonderfully relaxing trip, which is exactly what we wanted! - The villa had everything you could possibly need and some. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much. Having our own pool was a nice luxury to dip in and out of with the hot weather. The local food places were all wonderful and reasonably priced. The place was so clean - cleaned 2-3 times a day, with towels replaced and the aircon and lights put on at night for your return. The pool pump/filter needed to be used more as pool was a little murky but was refreshing. The room with bed was basic and everything else including bathroom and lounge area was outside - but this was great for Bali so not a complaint, just not what we expected. A very quiet out of the way area so perfect for us for R and R but if you’re expecting to be in hustle and bustle with lots to do this is not the place for you.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sunp (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and peaceful, private villa in a quieter part of Bali but still within easy distance of Canggu/Seminyak/Airport. Host Agus was very attentive and helpful. Would definietly come back.
- Linda (10/5): Take us back please - It was so spacious and the bathroom was amazingly beautiful It's weird to say but it was too shady but the beach is close by
- Navdeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Damian (9/5): Peaceful, spacious and great value for money. - Value for money was amazing. Close to beach, massive outdoor patio area as well as deep pool, and elevated covered day bed.
Staff were amazing, let us late check out at no extra charge. Clean and turn down daily. Seseh is quiet, we loved it very private and peaceful. Some elements were a little old but it didn’t really take away from experience.
- Salika (9/5): Superb -
- Lauren (9/5): Lovely peaceful villa with very friendly staff - Lovely peaceful villa with helpful and polite staff, nice location away from the chaos
- Nehemia (10/5): Exceptional - A big and beautiful place and very quiet place in Search Beach.
- Daniel (4/5): Disappointing -
- Stacey (10/5): Exceptional - Great location if you want to avoid the hustle of central Canngu. Perfect romantic stay with a private pool, peace and quiet and excellent places to eat within walking distance.
- Dave (9/5): Superb - Nice relaxing place Too far from city
- Puspita (8/5): Very good - The villa is very huge and able to cater any kind of event you want to celebrate with your loved ones. I was staying at the main house and it was perfect for my family The bathtub is not working properly other than that were perfect and quiet relaxing
- Cathleen (10/5): a breath of beautiful - the privacy, and the layout of the property. the staff was wonderful.
- James (7/5): Nice Bali ricefield stay - The property is a little old
- Beatrice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Penny (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place :) it provided everything I needed for a secluded, remote get away with my partner in a tranquil neighbourhood. Offering dine-in menu, pamper spa packages, as well as laundry service. We could have just remained entirely in the villa if we’d wanted to. The location is remote and quiet with just the sounds of nature. The garden landscaping, pool and architecture is lovely, the place did show some wear and tear but for a 20 year old development it’s in pretty good condition and very well maintained. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful- kudos to Agus and his team! It’s a 10min walk to the Seseh beach, surrounded by a nice little local community. As mentioned in other reviews, the swimming pool cleaner is indeed not very effective so the pool water is opaque. Although the staff in the afternoon do pop by to clean up the leaves in the pool.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Tamu Seseh was perfect for a relaxing end to our holiday, peaceful and quiet spot and amazing location, close to great restaurants and a quick walk to the beach! The owner connected us with a driver who was fantastic and so helpful. We also were able to order food to the room and the pool was fantastic!
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - it was amazing. the villa was in great condition, the pool is amazing, the staff is very friendly and helpful with all your needs and requests. lovely secluded place
- Christin (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (10/5): - Amazing Villa!
Tucked away just off the Main Street of Seseh Beach.
Close to the few greats local restaurants and not far from The beach and Udara.
The pool is all yours and has amazing views of the rice paddies.
The outdoor bathroom is really impressive and private.
Huge comfy bed and great staff.
Highly recommended!!
- Felicity (9/5): a relaxing haven from the the world - it’s traditional set up with the focus being on the outdoor living the pavilion was set a little high off the ground for little ones to access safely
- Martin (4/5): What was once a lovely villa has been let go and is now in need of a complete renovation. - The location is great. Near Seseh beach and a lovely traditional quiet spot. Very good warang called Bu Reka at the corner. Better than eat street in Seminyak and half the price. The whole place has been let go and is very run down. Everything looks like it needs a good high pressure wash followed by a repaint of everything. It’s a good villa with a great layout and building style that once would have been classy and unique but is now sad and feels uncared for. The large fish pond at the entrance was black and very smelly. I assume most of the fish were dead. The pool was not much better and for the first time of many trips to Bali we did not swim at all. One of the outdoor lounge chairs was broken and a door to the pool filter room broken and stuck open. There were broken doors at the entrance to the complex and the front door to the garden unlock-able. One of the two chars at the table was also very close to breaking. The garden has been let go also.
- David (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anže (8/5): Mixed emotions - A great, spacious villa, with a bedroom in the middle, an open bathroom on one and a patio with kitchen on the other side of that "room". All beautifully connected with the greenery around the house.
- Very friendly staff,
- scooter was provided on request
- great location near to the beach
- couple of nice bars and restaurants nearby The pool is REALLY dirty. The water in it must not have been changed for years. staff said it is due to previous costumers, but i doubt as there is a thick layer of suncream/oils on the pool (pictures attached).
At the end we were discounted after complaining, but it really is a shame, as otherwise it is a great villa.
So if you are booking because of private pool, DON'T.
If booking because of space, comfort and authenticity of the villa, DO.
- Domains (10/5): A TOTALLY HIDDEN GEM - The size of the villa was extraordinary, when told about the kitchen, I asked if this was the shared kitchen, and the pool area was amazing. The hot water was not working all the time, but was fixed as soon as the staff knew it was not working.
- Sock (6/5): Could have been a great villa stay with better maintenance - it’s a private compound with an enclosed garden, pool, living area and pavilion (all open air).
only 5min walk to the beach (but beach not v well maintained)
a couple of f &b options within minutes walk even though it’s a quiet residential neighbourhood.
evening turn down service was a nice welcome touch especially the lighting of mosquito coils around the villa (the bathroom is private and sheltered but not an enclosed space so appreciate not getting bitten when on the throne). needs maintenance. bedroom smelled like it hasn’t been aired for a while.
outdoor bathtub was badly stained. one out of two lights around it were not working when we checked in although it was remedied by our 2nd night. (lights were of different colours though)
vanity counter is too high for anyone short (I’m approx 1.65m and it felt a little too high for me)
also had an issue with hot water for the shower which was fixed the morning after we checked in.
towels were thin.
the property is very outdoorsy which makes it high maintenance. lots of trees within the villa which tend to stain things when fruits and leaves drop. the trees are de riguer for a Balinese villa though.
location is a good 15-30min drive from the main canggu areas which can be a plus or con depending on what you plan to do.
- Jessie (9/5): The perfect way to end our trip - the villa was a short walk from the beach and a great sunset location. Loved the outdoor seating space and relaxing by the pool. Staff are very friendly.
- Pierre-antoine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cemal (10/5): Exceptional - one of the best experience in my life, perfect staff.
- Angelina (9/5): Superb - friendly staff and really helpful.
nice and quiet neighbourhood.
beautiful property pool could use some cleaning
- Martin (10/5): Nice stay - Perfect quiet location, villa is super cosy, bit old, but cosy. Perfect Bali style accommodation. Close to beach, you can rent a motorbike and bike in villa.
Thanks a lor.
- Cati (8/5): - L’hotel est a 20 minutes du centre ville. On s’y bien, c’est paisible et propre. Le personnel est a l’écoute nous avons tres bien été accueilli. Nous recommandons cet hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfort, privacy and old Bali views - Along the coast Bali is gradually being overbuilt. But if you look carefully, you can still find comfortable villas like this that sit in villages and back onto rice paddies. Tamu Seseh provides this.
