Guest Reviews
- Leroy (2/5): - was booked to stay 14 nights.
Stayed one night, complained to the property manager. took photos, did not get a refund.
Expedia who I booked through were no help either, Do NOT Stay at this property.
If i could upload photos youd see why.
Mould and unclean
- Walter (8/5): - Property manager Simon was very helpful and friendly.
Room was showing its age, but clean enough and nice and quiet.
- Tim (10/5): - Needed to find room for night and did fine.
- Shaun (8/5): - It had Everything I Wanted in a place to stay for a weekend. Had no real bad things.
- Lucy (8/5): - Great for the price and super easy to get to. Simon who greeted us and gave us keys was super welcoming!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good: Host was responsible and at service
Location near public transport and Enmore town full of restaurants, groceries and bars
Bad: generally clean but cockroaches and insects were seen many times
- Peter (2/5): - Watch out for the small print parking charge. The place was filthy. No air conditioning. Overpriced. You sure get what you pay for or even less.
- Phil (2/5): - A real shocker. Mold in shower, lacked some towels, worn and stain carpets, broken hinges on cupboards, no flyscreens, mosquitos, clapped out tvs, missing lights, broken lighting, toilet flush needs repairs, oven broken, filthy sofa and chair. Look it was so bad my wife has banned me from booking accommodation ... forever!
- Michael (10/5): - Clean and great communication
- Geoff (2/5): - The guy running the appartments was really weird, not friendly at all. Appartments was drab and dank. I know there a thing about getting what you pay for but next time I’ll stay at Ibis next time - at least I wont need to disinfect everything. Furniture was very worn and mattress was lumpy and very poor.
- Paul (10/5): - Great location and comfortable.
- Malcolm (8/5): - Good location for rpa and king st shops.
- vicki (6/5): - Close to the hospital, walking distance
- Verified traveler (4/5): Would not recommend… - Communication was ok leading up to the stay and it was a last minute booking, so can give credit there, but from the moment entering our non smoking room it completely reeked of smoke. I messaged the text only mobile number about the issue with no response. After having later gone up to the shop for some air fresheners to try to alleviate the bad smell I ran into the agent and asked if he had received my message. He replied yes and looked away. I mentioned a smoking room shouldn’t be rented out as non smoking and was responded to with “I can’t help what people do” and walked away. Absolutely garbage customer service mate. It’s cheap and don’t expect much, but fix the smell before renting out the room. We ended up having to leave the place later that night as it smelt too much. The carpet was also so dirty you couldn’t tell what color it had been. Waste of money and would steer clear.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable and all amenities provided - Comfortable room. Manager was flexible and helpful. No aircon and no Foxtel so for longer stay when whether humid it can be a bit warm but that’s reflected in the price
- Ben van der (10/5): - Great for the price .. great service
- Gordon (8/5): - Position. No dislikes good value in a busy vibrant area
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The building manager was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble.
Location was great easy to get to where I had to go.
Only issue no wifi but in the grand scheme that was nothing.
Value for money and great customer service.
- Merryn (8/5): - I found the staff friendly, checking in and out was uncomplicated and the building was easily accessible and safe/secure. The room was clean and comfortable. The only issues I had was with the TV remote! My only other comment would be that the appliances where a bit old (but still functional). However over all my stay was positive.
- Dani (8/5): - Had a balcony and quiet neighbours. Heaps of crockery and cutlery, anything you could think of was there to use.
- Allan (8/5): Property delivered easy nights’ stay - A fairly unassuming Property - I have passed it on many occasions and would never have imagined it could be a casual or holiday rental. I was able to have the benefits of apartment living (including cooking facilities) close to Newtown At a reasonable cost. - the caretaker / cleaner made the hand over of access keys seamless I would stay at the property again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location just a few minutes walk to vibrant Kong Street and a shirt walk to Sydney CBD.
- Deborah (6/5): - The property was close to Wesley College which was convenient for me as my daughter resides there.
When booking the property, it is a little misleading. There is no reception.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Comfortable, easy walk to university and shops. No aircon made this a very uncomfortably hot stay though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and comfortable bed but lacking some basic amenities like wifi and oven.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Apartment was within easy walking distance of all RPA facilities and king st shops
- Helen (8/5): Great value budget hotel - Huge room for the price so a great deal. Excellent location. Was a little hot with the crazy weather this summer - only fan meant it was never really cool. There was a cool change but was too noisy to have balcony door open with traffic outside. Overall though would definitely come back - great value budget hotel
- Kora (2/5): - The owner was creepy and strange, gave off that DEXTER/YOU vibe. I would be surprised if there was hidden cameras in this creepy place.
This room was beyond nasty. Stained sheets, sheets with holes, inconsistent bedding. Burn marks on the microwave, and curtains. Gum on the headboard, peeling wallpaper, the floors needed a serious cleaning. One of the rooms looked like it had vomit on the floor that had an attempt of being wiped up but not at all clean. Deep cleaning is needed for this dumpster. Mildew in the bathrooms, soiled chairs in the rooms. Dirty tables. Large hairballs on the dresser. Did I mention that the room had no AC and electricity went out an hour after we checked in but we couldn't move because every hotel in town was full for the holiday weekend, and they were overbooked.
Was much better maybe sleeping in an alley way next to a dumpster or even the local park would have been much better than this garbage of a place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Served the purpose, easy to locate, close to everything.
- Chantal (8/5): Incredible value for money.. exceeded expectations - Awesome for what we paid! I was totally freaking out about it as it got closer to the day and I was reading reviews but it’s clean, very spacious, stove, microwave, cutlery, washer and dryer. Tea and coffee. Couldn’t ask for more! Great position and just value for money!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was ok for a cheap nights stay in Sydney.Simon the Manager was very helpful.Would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No aircon which is not great, bathroom average, joinery water damaged, carpets old and weathered, musty smell of dampness within hallways
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The manager was there to greet me from the taxi. Nothing was too much. Even when I didn’t know if I was going or staying. Security was great and I felt safe and comfortable.
Better pillows would be good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Simon is nice. Carpet needs doing.
- Ali (8/5): - Simon was very welcoming - very personal service. Everything was as described - no aircon might be difficult come summer time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable, tidy and close to all that we needed to do. Car parking as very reasonable and Simon the Manager could not have been more helpful. Overall a great stay.
- Kayleen (6/5): - Affordable and close to Newtown. Tea & coffee facilities available however no milk in the fridge.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Lift was out of service for entire stay, with no communication about when it was likely to be fixed. Light in kitchen was out. Light in exhaust fan above stove was out. Full flush button on toilet didn’t work. Toilet paper holder fell out of the wall when touched. Using the toaster caused the power in the apartment to switch off at the main (there was obviously a short in the appliance). And the on-site manager was very passive aggressive upon my arrival which was a far from pleasant start to the experience of staying there.
It is, however, in a great location - which is the best thing going for the establishment by far.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Simon the resident manager was extremely fast to respond to any questions that I had. His service was great would certainly stay again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location, great price, perfect for what we wanted.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Only needed a bed for the night, so this place was adequate and well-priced.
Needs some heavier curtains to keep the early morning light out. Also smelt a bit of cigarettes.
The host was friendly, helpful, approachable, and communicated well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The stay was very pleasent, and very handy to all ammenitis, thank you,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and clean but maybe look at a chain on the back of the door as hard to know if door was locked
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The promised parking was unavailable, the elevator was not working and my husband and I had to share the one towel in our room, however the bed was comfortable and with everything, you get what you pay for
- Molly (10/5): - Great location. Simon was very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Value for money & convenient to Newtown & public transport.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was what I needed for the night. A bed for the night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Lack of wifi is disappointing. The blinds did very little to block the streetlight that was right outside the window. All the furniture was quite old. The property manager was nice, but there’s no reception, was was handed the keys after a text message and they left immediately. Value for money is good, and the property served a purpose but was very barebones.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The place is in need of up dating, bathroom laundry doors poor condition, heating was poor, watered down hand wash in bathroom, smell in room if closed the balcony door, smell in lobby area, lights in common area all didnt work, lights in room only some worked, no parking and told on day that they only had one available anyway was already taken, email stated to ask for parking on arrival at an extra $30 a night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The manager was helpful and welcoming. The facilities were good and the location suited me well. There were some maintenance issues (kitchen light not working, toilet roll holder needed fixing as did the shower handle) and the shower would benefit from bleach and a good clean. Kitchen was great and the bed comfy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Affordable accommodation. Easy to find.
- warwick (6/5): - some of the amenities in apart.broken or needed attention
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff, great location, easy access, close to everything in Newtown as well as public transport.
I highly recommend it and would stay again.
Thanks for having me.
Melissa
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location with easy access to public transport. Very friendly staff, great stay.
Many Thanks Melissa
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location closer to Newton with restaurants and easy access to supermarket
It was closer to the place I need to attend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good location. spacious. good value for money. great service from the staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was an ideal location to RPAH just a walk around the corner!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Oh the smell, one was just hit with it from the moment i oppened the door. It was a thick heavy stench of old chinese food. No matter how long i left the doors open, the smell just wouldnt go. Unfortunately the doors had to be left open as there was no working air conditioning and it was very hot inside. This was also compounded by the fridge freezer being unplugged so no way to quickly cool a drink
The bathroom was in a state of disrepair, water and wood damage across it and the laundry.
The main door lock didnt even work so it was nerve racking leaving the place, which one had to do, even just for breif moments to get away from the lingering smell of the place. The door lock didnt even need a key to open.. it seemed like a safe building, but still, not a plus.
The staff were very friendly on the phone when booking and arranging a time to arrive, but for $130/night... keep looking elsewhere
- Ednadevlin (6/5): - Good location to Royal Prince Alfred and King st Newtown
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location and security are great. The facility are also convenient and makes my stay enjoyable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Location is great! Room is somewhat spacious. And that's about it. We have a studio room with a kitchen. Everything is there but we have to clean everything before using. The kettle has molds inside. No wifi. No aircon so we have to keep the balcony door open. I was awakened by mosquitos one night. The back panel of the closet is falling off. The carpet looks dirty. Communication with the staff is difficult. Most of the time, the calls just went straight to voicemail. I would not stay there again and definitely would not recommend it to anyone.
- Kelly (2/5): - bad customer service theysay the reception is open from 9am to 6pm they arent there at all you have to ring when you get there. And the girl doesnt speak proper english. No acconditioner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Facilites as excelente. The ubicación very well.
Everything in the apartmrnt we're very clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to hospital, easy walk to Newtown, good amenities.
Could have had some milk for tea/coffee in Fridge.
Could have a better arrival setup.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I waited out the front of the building for far too long. Ringing the phone number to no answer. This needs to be addressed. Also the towells in the bathroom were like sand paper they were hard and I hope they were clean as the bathroom floor was dirty. I work in a motel so I know how lazy housekeepers can be. Other than that all good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is now run down on the inside, lift not working etc , outside looks good management very good, phone reception awful, basic facilities there but a bit overpriced for what you can get
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Apartment chosen for proximity to hospitals on Missenden road. Fairly basic, needed some Maintenance but what was expected for the price. Lift broke down so had to carry suitcases down 3 flights of stairs
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We liked the location of the property and the car park. We were extremely disappointed that there was no air conditioner, the unit was extremely hot and stuffy, the lift was out of service for about a week apparently (which we haven't been told about ), the entry door of the unit had to be pushed very hard to open, the linen did not look fresh clean and the armchair was filthy. Overall very disappointing
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Shabby, run down, stained carpet, grubby. No way it's 4 star
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property manager (Simon) was his usual helpful self. The location for me is excellent. The humidity in Sydney was high that night but the fan helped to keep air circulating
- Xps (2/5): - The rooms needs to be upgraded.
The carpet was not properly vacumed. There were several insects. Ended up leaving the room at 4 am to go to airport.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is good affordable accommodation close to hospitals.
- David (8/5): - Convenient to City for work appointments close to many Newtown Hotels and Restaurants.
- mark (6/5): - no complimentary milk for tea/coffee carpet is ripped
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rates compared to other properties close to Newtown
- Leonie (4/5): - The building is very tired, needs a paint and refurbish. Door handle to room looked like it was about to fall off. Sheets on bed were stained, couldnt sleep on them. Next morning realised that stain was some sort of dye that was over the sheet. Sheet was threadbare. No wifi
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stayed at the property for its access to RPA as I had a sick friend.?sufficient for our needs, but nothing flash.
- Mat (4/5): - Great location within walking to newtown. However busy toad out front and bright street lights which can’t be blocked as blinds are broken.
Also no air con so if temp is gonna be warm be warned, unit was quite hot and temp outside wasn’t that hot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location. Handy to hospital for visitors. Close to Newtown.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Couldn’t find the reception door upon arriving. After 15mins someone finally let me in. When entering the room it was dirty and the bed was incrediblely uncomfortable
- Colette (10/5): Ideal budget appartments - If your looking for a place to stay these are Ideal apartments with all you could need.
Perfect for our needs and budget.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Speechless terriable
No wifi
The room is very dirty
The fan is not working
No reception
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and off street parking. Friendly helpfull manager. Not 5* but good price.
- David (6/5): - Great location and communication. Apartment needs updating, but was comfortable and clean.
- Kylie (8/5): - Very good comms from site manager who was able to accommodate requests. Convenient location.
- Jeff (4/5): - Close to hospital, other facilities, cafes, some street parking
- Verified traveler (6/5): A place close to public transportv - A place 15 minutes walk from Newtown, not central location.
Self contained meaning a kitchen bathroom and dining in one room. All equipped. A sliding doors a bonus to let fresh in.
Good to have washing machine and dryer in the bathroom.
Bad
No windows in the bathroom to let steam and moisture out. The bathroom fan does not to remove steam and fogging up on mirrors. No drains in bathroom near sink to remove water. Quite small.
There is no reception to book into have to wait at door for person to come as nd get you to let you in. Very weird set up.
The price of 115, per night was reasonable yet not worth it for the room per night. Needs a lot of repairing old Chinese owned or rented.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The carpets, floors and bedding of the place are very soiled, old and not properly cleaned
- Maria (8/5): Close to shops and restaurants - Short walk to hospital RPA a friend had to attend each day. Good restaurants
- Lois (10/5): - It was great & in a perfect position for us. Handy to everything we neaded
- Mary-Jayne (8/5): - Good
- lachlan (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - Convenient place for a last minute overnight stay, easy check in, essential facilities, close to plenty of amenities
- Verified traveler (6/5): Sydney accommodation - It was not a happy stay as my daughter was transferred to RPA. Overall the property was ideal for our needs. The house manager, Simon communicated very well. Great spot for a stay right near King Street which has an abundance of great pubs and eateries.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Four star rating is a completely false - You may be fooled by ‘official’ star ratings in Expedia, booking.com and trip adviser. Read the customer reviews and you will get quite a different impression. I needed a bed at short notice. However, this place is s dive. It is not serviced, bathroom cabinets are literally rotting. Carpet is stained and dirty. Furniture is from op shops and clearly very old and second hand. No service desk, contact point or help. Truely the WORST accomodation I have had misfortune to stay in.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - needs maintainence ,heaters that work and air conditioning noisy...
not value for money
- sue (2/5): Grossly neglected place awaiting demolition. - Unchanged bed linens. Dusty furniture. Rotting shower bay. No information about the use of wifi. Rang on the day after 9pm. No reply till the next morning. All it required is a text message that the property manager couldn’t be bothered with.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - property needs TLCbathroom wall needed repair ,Linen not fresh,no heater
- MamaDay (8/5): - Good communication;
Basic accommodation;
Clean room
- D I (6/5): just ok - The room was very small with a street light directly outside our window the bathroom was not very clean and the whole place looks a bit shabby
- David (2/5): Disgusting do not stay there. - Room was disgusting , bathroom full of mould. no air conditioning and the fan provided did not work. we complained and where told the room had just been cleaned. We asked for a refund as we could not stay there and were told to speak to you.
