Guest Reviews
- Sengdao (2/5): - Very poor
- Loretta (10/5): - Great to be near the airport
All you need for a rest for a late flight good price
- Thinh (6/5): - not enough light in the room
- David H (6/5): - Nothing unuque, not worth to stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, close to airport and lots of place to eat. Convenient for those who need to wait for connecting flights.
- Bao (6/5): - Overall it’s okay for the price I paid !
- Lien (8/5): Great location - Great service. Breakfast was good. Close to eat streets, laundromat and market.
- Tina (10/5): - Love this hotel! I always stay here when I come to Saigon! The staff is friendly and the area is amazing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff and quick check in. Worked well for us as a transit hotel. We had the family room for 5 in our group and the room was clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room was clean but bed was extremely hard. Close to the airport but airport transfer from hotel expensive given closeness to airport
- hongm777 (8/5): It was what we payed for - It was a nice hotel for the price the rooms were a little small the breakfast wasn't that great but my son loved the pho I didn't love it but I would stay there again if i had to overall it was a nice hotel
- cjames_fry (2/5): Dreadful and unclean - Despite booking a room with a balcony, we were given an interior room and scammed out of additional money for the pseudo-upgrade. The interior room's bathroom was grimy. The room with the balcony had condoms from the previous inhabitant. We requested the ironing service for the wedding reception we attended that evening at Unique Wedding nearby which was an utter fail. Attempts to resolve the issues with management/reception was pointless. A questionable establishment...
- Alla (10/5): Great value! - The front desk was friendlying and helpful, breakfast- surprisingly good, busy part of town but the room was quiet and very comfortable.
- JoUET11 (8/5): Good Value for Transit Hotel - Our family of 4 adults stayed at this hotel for 1 night in transit through Ho Chi Minh City. I am rating this hotel base on the price versus the accommodation. The family room for 5 people is sectioned into 2 areas controlled by different light switches, and this helps a little bit if not everyone is sleeping at the same time. The room size is not overly spacious but comfortable. The male receptionist appears not too friendly, but he did request the cook to make egg sandwiches for us at 5 o’clock in the morning for our early flight. We were pleasantly surprised with the follow through.
Make sure the taxi driver drops you off on the corner of Bui Thi Xuan and Pham Van Hai, and not at the corner of Bui Thi Xuan and Le Van Sy. The latter requires that you walk through Bui Thi Xuan alley, which is not pleasant (as happened to us). You may have trouble finding a taxi at the airport as the ride is somewhat short and driver may not feel motivated.
- Shmdhar (6/5): Very bad area, decent rooms & good staff - This was the first place we went to when we landed in Vietnam and it was very bad experience. We all felt so sad seeing the area the restaurant is situated in. We literally wanted go back home. nevertheless the staff were kind and helpful. the rooms were not so great but good enough for the money. Breakfast wasn't that great too. on the whole not a very good experience staying here.
- kotal2019 (6/5): Okay place to stay for a few days - I was here for about 5 days, and it's quite a long time in a very small room without windows, but it's was as expected for this price. With a very, very friendly and good english speaking staff, it made my stay in HCMC a lot easier.
It doesn't have a fitness as it says here on trip advisor, and if you want to do laundry find somewhere else because it's very expensive at this hotel. The location is somewhat okay, but it's about 150k in a taxi every time you want to go to where the good stuff happens. Also the smoking arena is very small and has 4 fans blowing hot air directly in your face.. but all in all a good place to stay for a few days
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel close to Vietnamese market - Big rooms , great toilet and shower . Breakfast not the best otherwise good hotel
- Malarchy (6/5): Reasonable Budget Hotel - Vuong Quang is a hotel close to Ho Chi Minh airport and located in a downmarket residential part of town. It is a budget location but a perfectly reasonable place to stay for those stopping over for a night for flights.
Getting to Vuong Quang is a bit of hassle. The hotel offers transfers but that was not obvious in advance. It is on a side road which is not necessarily known by taxi drivers. A few of the taxis at the airport refused to go such a short distance so inevitably there was overcharging. The side road the hotel is on is filled with motorbikes so it is not an easy place to explore.
Arrival was met with a flurry of activity. Staff rushing down the 10 or so steps to collect luggage and open taxi doors. English was just about spoken at reception but the strong Vietnamese accent makes conversations quite difficult.
A family room on the third floor had two queen beds and a single. There was a window with a view across the tops of the neighbourhood buildings as this is one of the higher structures in this low-rise area. There was AC and a small television which didn't have great reception.
The shower area was basic but functional. The shower did not take too long to warm up. It was clean enough though not especially attractive.
Water was available at a low cost in the minibar. 10k Dong for a bottle is not extortionate.
The beds were just about comfortable enough. A bit of stretching out was needed after sleeping but they did the job.
Breakfast was simple and a little crowded. Everyone seemed to be gathering for breakfast as soon as it opened at 7am. There was toast, butter, and jam as well as a few cooked options including fried eggs. Breakfast was enough rather than delicious but did the job.
Check in and out was pretty simple. It did not take too long for the process. Transfer back to the airport in the hotel's car was an easy option.
Vuong Quang is not an attractive hotel. It is a budget location but good for a a night's stay between flights. The hotel is not the easiest to find but it does not take long to get to and from the airport. It is a friendly and perfectly reasonable option for an overnight given its price.
- Van Minh (8/5): Good service and staff - Been here a few times in the last few years and still happy with services from front line staff. Hotel is close to airport and room is reasonable size, comfortable bed.
- pollyh713 (2/5): Awful - We're a couple travelling for 6 months, we didn't expect luxury with it being a 2 star hotel, but what we arrived to was a nightmare! We got to our room, it was way smaller than the photos of the room we booked on line. The bath room was covered in red ants, we found a nest in the corner of the shower. After soaking it with mosquito spray it seemed to do the trick and we tried to relax a little. Sat on the bed I then discovered red ants on the bed! We went onto our balcony to calm down and decide what we wanted to do, there was about 6 cigarette ends stubbed out and left on the floor, that and ALOT of hair which cringed me right out! We'd now had enough. We went to reception and explained how unhappy we were and that we'd like to go else where and find other accommodation, after a conversation going over and over the same things, with a language barrier in the way, it was clear we weren't aloud a refund but were offered a upgrade, this wouldn't be ready for a couple of hours. We went out for some dinner, returned to a much nicer room. Went to sleep, both to wake up every hour dripping in sweat because the air conditioning turned its self off every 30 minutes or so! This happened every night. We got up the next day and went to have breakfast before exploring the city. Breakfast was until 9:30am. We got to the hotel restaurant at 9am, nearly all the food was gone, the bread and jam that was left was covered in ants. We got up and left to have breakfast else where, which we had to do every morning. On the up side, the door men were lovely, and our experience in the city was great! Just a shame our accommodation was so stressful, we were thankful to leave!
- Van Minh (8/5): Great short trip - Good location near TSN airport, really nice and helpful staff.
- 705tessad (6/5): Spooky - My family and I checked in past midnight, we were welcomed with a poorly lit reception and hallway areas to our room. Room size was more than enough for 6 pax and somewhat clean. Breakfast buffet was okay too.
We decided not to take any pixes, we just all felt eerie. 😒
- annabanannake (10/5): Good overnight hotel from airport - Arrived late and had to catch plane early so this hotel close clean and good service. Cheap family room. New bathroom. We were on level 5 with window and could not hear the noisy street. Good view over city. Good service wake up call. Had toast and coffee for breakfast before it opened which was flexible. 100,000 taxi from airport and 80000 back. Took 7 minutes
- Mr_MarTEAni (6/5): Airport transfer - As the title says. Thats about it. Dont expect much. We had no warm water because the sun didnt shine and our A/C was broken which made our short night(very early flight) even shorter. Basic room but for a one night stay to be close to the aurport (10 min(no traffic)) it canstill pass as acceptable
- baringa (8/5): Good place to stay overnight - Stayed this hotel overnight Oct 2015 in transit. Had deluxe Double room with balcony, $33. About 10 minutes taxi to airport in normal traffic, negotiate price before you get in, between 50-100,000.
Room size adequate. Both bedroom and bathroom very clean, good hot shower and comfy bed, all you need. Front balcony overlooks coffee music bar across the street but was not noisy.
Buffet breakfast in dining room near reception, nothing fancy just decent food. Has elevator. Reception staff very friendly, OK English.
If you need dinner at night go out front of hotel, turn left and walk 20m back to main street. Big local seafood restaurant on your left right on corner. Think it is called Quán Cua, 63 Pham Van Hai. If it's too noisy downstairs go upstairs. Cheap cold beers and very good food. ATM right across the street.
Would stay here again.
- peter (10/5): one happy visitor - the staff where great and very helpfull the housemaids made the room daily and was spotlace after them the desk helped me plan me visitcan not fault the staff in anyway as they where really good
- Verified traveler (4/5): close to airport but that's about it - Although this hotel was close to the airport, I wish I'd spent a few extra dollars to be closer to town, especially as the airport taxi drivers try to charge you 200,000 dongs (it should only be about 50 ,000). Room had no window and the walls were very thin so that you could hear guests in other rooms coming and going- not ideal if you need some sleeps between flights. This hotel is very Vietnamese (located in Vietnamese area with staff who only speak Vietnamese) so I would not recommend for travellers who do not speak the language.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Yummy free breakfast - No food/drinks in the room is free. The only free thing here is breakfast, which is really tasty and hot, serving from 7am to 9:30am. Good service.
- Fermax (8/5): Very clean, extremely good service - My family just needed a hotel for the night between flights. The hotel is close enough to the airport to get in and out quickly. The taxi was 50,000vnd on the meter but I paid 100,000. Boy, those taxi drivers drive like crazy!
We stayed in a family room that had two queen (double?) beds and a single bed. Bathroom had a real shower with plenty of towels. Two air conditioners helped keep our room cool. The hot water jug was useful for some instant noodles we bought.
The area is pretty frantic - lots of shops and traffic. However the room had very little noise - mostly just from nearby roosters.
The best part of our stay, however, was the service we received. We informed the staff that we were talking an early-morning flight and would leave before breakfast (which was included in our room rate and ran from 7am to 9:30am). They offered to make something for us to take on the morning. When we checked-out at 5:30am, the chef actually made us a hot breakfast with eggs and toast. Plus, a taxi was already sitting there, waiting to take us to the airport. Great service!
I highly recommend this hotel for an airport stopover or if you wish to stay in this area.
- christinecC6976UF (8/5): very clean close to the airport - Very welcoming staff, room very clean although no windows. Only stayed one night before flying to KL. Left early in the morning without breakfast as didn't have time, The receptionist got us some food to take with us which was very kind of him.
The area is very busy and full of life. The only down side of the hotel is that it was quite noisy when people were showering. The shower doors are heavy and bang very loudly. We pointed the problem out to the staff when we left and suggested that they pup stoppers on the shower door to stop the banging. Easily solved but not sure if they understood us.
- Jill (10/5): Excellent out of city centre choice - The staff are excellent, all have a smile on their face and will look after you. Whilst the hotel is a little out of the centre, it is close enough to walk to all the main highlights of the city. We chose a slightly larger room which is well worth the extra dong. Breakfast is different to what westerners would regularly choose but there's plenty with fruit and toast if you want home comforts.
- bouavanh (2/5): Not good at all - It was yhe worst hotel ever thay were ant ever where and the wifi didn't work and the hotel was woth out power for and hour and some poor person was stuck in the elevator
- new88 (6/5): One-night stay - Good for 1-night transit stay. Near airport. Simple breakfast served from 7 am onwards. Provide airport pick-up for 150,000 dongs for 7 seaters. Family room made up of 2 rooms, comfortably for 5 people. Do note the drinking water provided are chargeable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good transit hotel - Clean, bit old, good breakfast, 7 minutes from airport, great restaurant on corner next door.
- Van Minh (8/5): Excellent service, helpful staff - This is my 3rd stay at this hotel. Service is excellent. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Hotel location is near the TSN airport. A bit far from the CBD but only ~5 USD by taxi.
- moniquej921 (8/5): This is real Ho Chi Minh! - Just 10 minutes from the airport (depending on traffic) and in the middle of cultural Ho Chi Minh. Away from all tourists you can experience the real Ho Chi Minh. Don't be afraid to leave the English language behind and experience of the restaurants that are recommended by the friendly hotel staff (the one at the corner of the street)...it is fun and you will meet friendly people. Just a five minute walk from one of their interesting local markets. Very friendly staff and clean rooms with airco. Breakfast is included and very reasonable. -During our three week trip through South Central Vietnam, we came back two more times... Enjoy your stay! ~Monique
- Ebenezer780 (8/5): Hotel near airport - This hotel is only a couple of km from the airport and the taxi fare is 40,000 to 50,000 VND. You should be aware though that even the fixed voucher price from the airport does not cover what the taxi driver will ask an extra. He will pay 10,000 VND for airport access but will likely ask for an extra 50,000 VND. I did not quibble as I was aware of this minor scam and including this the fare was equivalent to only $5. There are shops and restaurants near the hotel but it is not a tourist area. I used this hotel for convenience to the airport so this was not a problem but you might not find it so good for more than 1 night. The hotel receptionist was helpful and spoke good English. The room was a bit small but quite adequate and the bathroom with shower were good. The buffet breakfast was nothing special but again adequate for 1 day. My only gripe is very minor - there was no English language news channel.
- PearlN_12 (8/5): Clean, close to airport - This is a newer hotel so everything is in great condition (I'm a clean freak). For the, $30USD price I was able to get a room with a real window, two full size beds, a small fridge, table. However, the room is tiny, there is barely enough room for our luggage. It's great for those that need to head to the airport early.
Everyone was helpful.
TIPS* Remember to tell your cab the exact address, with Ward 3, Tan Binh district because there is another Bui Thi Xuan street (near district 1) that will likely triple your cost.
Breakfast - there is one hot soup item such as pho or vermicelli (it changes daily). It sits in a demo bowl by itself , ask for it, it's quite decent. We had this hot soup everyday after we discovered it, nothing else was worth touching.
- 822KerryS (8/5): Close to the airport - Really nice big room for the 5 of us. Lovely and clean.
Great location if you are taking a plane the next morning. Only about 10 mins drive to the airport.
Breakfast was very average - not much to chose from,
- nzkiwicouple (4/5): Good price and close to airport - strong chemical smell in room - We stayed at the hotel for one night. The front desk was open after midnight which was useful for our late flight. The room was very basic but equipped with everything we needed for a one night stay. The only problem was it smelt terribly of chemicals everywhere. As we were so exhausted and only sleeping there for a few hours we didn't complain but I felt very nauseous in the morning.
- nandp82 (6/5): Ok stay - This hotel was good and clean also reasonable rooms. The location was good but far from the airport. But the food for vegi was not good.. It was toast and jam or even butter
Breakfast was not good variety. It was ok for the price
