Very run down, broken facilities, worn out appliances, dirty grill, zero wifi, no firewood at all (find your own),leaking taps, broken toilet brush. Came here for more than twenty years and it’s changed owners. A far cry from what it used to be.

- Carol (5/5): Place to lay my head after a long drive. - We had to call someone when we arrived as there was no person present. Seemingly he was in Ballarat at another property. We were only staying one night as a stop over so room was passable. Lots of space microwave and a fridge. All the rooms were open with the keys inside on the table. Not being greeted by a person is very poor. If something had gone wrong then what!

Location is only 5 min drive from town center but price is lower than other similar accommodation in town. Reception is not always attended, may need to call for assistance

- loclie (4/5): Won't stay again - Stayed in ' lodge' cabin. 4 adults. Yes they are old and need a definitely need a makeover. Quiet a few problems. The oven worked which had oven trays in it which felt greasy and had to be washed before use.There were no pilot lights on the gas cookers on top of stove so couldnt use them.So had oven or microwave only to cook with.The bbq at the cabin was discusting.We had bought our own food to cook knowing there was a stove from staying there previously and so weren't prepared to cook using a microwave.Bowls and cutlery all dirty.Had to wash things before using them.No dish cloth to wipe bench,table etc just a well used scourer pad.Food stains on placemats and coasters.The information booklet is very outdated. Previous owners would ensure there was plenty of fire wood for your stay.There was no wood supplied . ( cabin had open fire) Glad we had bought some with us .Thankfully there was a split system installed. There was a terrible possum pee smell in the lounge. Grounds look unkempt. Office stinks of cigarette smoke and very dirty.We were asked to pay cash.Last time we stayed was in 2022 and it was a wonderful experience..friendly host that ensured our stay was hassle free and relaxing...not this time Very disappointing this time...we have stayed several times before and its been a wonderful experience. We will be choosing accommodation elsewhere next time we visit HG.
- Wallflower61 (5/5): Very basic. Check out other options - Plenty of room to move around. Very convenient location for visiting the Zoo. Halls Gap is a lovely area to visit. Its old and tired. Maintenance is very poor. The tiles in the bathroom have been painted at some stage and now peeling off. It was probably an attempt to "update" as the tiles are that lovely shade of beige apricot that was popular in the 70's & 80's The bed was ok, but needs replacing. I won't stay here again, there are many other accomodation options in the area. Look around.

Bed was very firm and uncomfortable, especially after a long days hike. The shower was tiny and the pressure wasn't great, but serviceable.

Es wurde versucht diese weg zu saugen was jedoch nicht von Erfolg gekrönt war, dann wurde giftiges Insektenspray im Schlafzimmer und Bad versprüht. Über dem Bett in dem wir schlafen mussten. Die Poolanlage war auch nur noch ein heruntergekommenes Biotop und nicht benutzbar.

Lovely to see the kangaroos who live wild on the site The pool obviously hasn’t been in working order for a very long time and there is no sign of it being maintained so it is stagnant, therefore it should be removed from the Booking.com description. The BBQ’s on site are filthy and even when we said we wanted to use them the guy asked if we were sure we wanted to use them as he doesn’t clean them. The room could have been cleaner.

- Thomas (9/5): - Although relatively basic accommodation it was good value for money, staff was very attentive, the views out the back were fantastic with multiple kangaroos and other wildlife joining us for a BBQ and it was a very peaceful quiet area Although we were very keen to use the outside swimming pool when we saw it, it hadn't been cleaned so felt unable to use it.

- Anne (8/5): Solider Standard - Die Lage als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen war perfekt. Ja, das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber dennoch war es zum Übernachten vollkommen ausreichend. Der Manager war jederzeit ansprechbar und hat mich bei allen Fragsn unterstützt. Die Sauberkeit der gesamten Anlage könnte verbessert werden.
- mandytE8012AK (2/5): WOULD NOT RECOMMEND - My partner booked this place to stay at for a birthday weekend she had organized for me. She was called at 10pm from a mobile number a couple of nights before we were due to arrive. Spoken to very rudely on the phone when she called back to see what was wrong. As she was on the phone talking to the guy who called, she had a missed call from the same mobile number. We arrived on Friday 20/2/2026, no one at reception. Just paperwork to sign and keys on top of paperwork. Go to the room and it was not the room my partner had booked. She had booked a room with a spa, no spa. We call the number at reception and got told he would be 15 minutes. Waited and waited, 30 minutes later some other guests showed up. They called the same number and got told 3 minutes. About 5 minutes later he showed up, so was not very happy with that. He dealt with the other guests first and was very nice to them. When my partner spoke to him he was rude and honestly didn't care. He was trying to blame booking.com as that's where she booked it through. The spa room she had booked had been given to someone else and he said he couldn't do anything about it. Didn't offer and sort of compensation for the mistake, just a really bad apology and that was it. Just kept going around in circles so just went to the room. Honestly does not look anything like the pictures on the web page! My partner was quite upset as she wanted things to be perfect for me for the weekend. I tried to have a talk to him and told him how upset she was. I will admit, a few choice words did come out. Once again though just went round in circles. We called booking.com and they said we needed to speak to the property. There was no accountability for the mistake, did not seem to care either. Just a rude, jumped up, poor excuse for a human. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND staying here to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else. Not sure if his lack of care has anything to do with the fact we are gay, but it definitely felt like it! Not a good experience at all!
- Thorin (6/5): Almost a pass, it could have been worse. - The price was good BBQ facilities were meant to be included but they were not maintained and couldn't be used. There wasn't enough cutlery in the room, asked the staff for more but they didn't provide it.
- Melanie (4/5): Not worth it - The set up in the Mount William suite is in a good layout and a good size. The blockout blinds kept the room dark. The aircon. The mountain views are through branches of trees, not a clear view. The place is very run down. Almost looked like the owners arent living there, as we didnt see them at all despite going to the office three times. The pool didnt look clean, the bbq area grounds were in a mess, plastic chairs strewn all over the place. The inside of the room wasnt 100 % clean. An ironing board but no iron. The smoke detector was closed with tape stuck to the ceiling. On the final morning after a night of some rain the bathroom was over run with the smell of the septic tank. The neighbour room had the same problem. Very expensive stay considering what we received.
- jackiecU3885PI (4/5): Not Good - Stayed in Febuary 2026, @ Mountain View motor Inn, had to book outselves in at the reception. At first look it was nice, surrounded by trees, real country area, just a couple of km from Halls Gap. should of taken pictures of the disrepair., lacking maintence. We stayed in house 5, little bit away from others except near to cabin/house 6. Our parking area was inbetween 5 & 6, no shaded cover or carport, clthes line out the back, un- maintained area We had a Spa, that was dirty, slimy stuff came out of jets, King bed was ok, comfortable, Doona cover had stains underneath, mattress protector needs replacing due to stains. Air con was old but worked on heat & cool, Wifi what Wifi, didnt work so dont rely on it ! Had to ring Khalid for milk, he was apologetic & there alone. Pool was near recetion at the front, very dirty, cloudy & leaves on the bottom still had the pool cleaning machine in it but not connected. Tennis courts hadnt been used in a long time, net was broken, not able to access them either due to no clear walk way or parking, Gardens, Roads & area was not maintained, solar light to cabins & on the roads to cabins were either hidden in trees or not working. Dead brances, along the road. Nothing was as pictured when looking online, No beautiful green grass, No inviting clean sparkling pool. Were going to stay the weekend & enjoy it but 1 night changed that. Sorry Wont be back or refere other as its NOT as offered ! Would be a beautiful place to stay if it presented like it did in photos.

- Guest (1/5): Loud and very noise this is just during the afternoon - The young man that was in the office for a short time was very helpful. But was unable to help us about moving to another room because he was no were to be found regarding this matter . We left at 5 pm . On the same day we arrived Unable to contact anyone about the noise and very loud motor bikes . Also people talking very loudly at the front of our apartment no 1 . Cars pulling up etc . Very disappointing We would have appreciated being informed about being right next to the office and given a choice .

Host very helpful. No tea towel, had to ask for dishwashing liquid, Little or no maintenance done on building and surrounding areas. Weeds, rubbish and litter, no recycling bin, kitchen window would not close and bathroom window would not open.

- Janice (5/5): Sleepless, discomfort. - The room was clean and well presented. The mattress was incredibly hard. Too hard for me to sleep without shoulder or back pain. The fridge froze my food stuffs and medications,I had to throw out the vegetables. But the hard mattress was the worst part of the stay.
- Ashley (10/5): A very pleasant stay in a comfortable and very private and natural setting. - While the motel was a few km out of Halls Gap, it was a quick car trip away and was very quiet, with all rooms a good distance from the main road. The room was a good layout and was clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed and quality fit and finish. I went off peak, but it was very good value. I had no complaints about the room, the staff or the location, however, I was unable to get Optus phone service.

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht, Der Pool der beschrieben wurde war nicht nutzbar grün und voll dreckig, die Grillmöglichkeiten waren ebenfalls dreckig und kein Gas vorhanden, der beschriebene Tennisplatz war nicht bespielbar. Im Internet sieht alles schön aus aber die Anlage ist deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Ach so und der WLAN war im Grunde genommen gar nicht vorhanden Verbindung äußerst schwierig möglich.

В комнате не было кухни, которую я специально оговаривал с менеджментом. Самое ужасное было утром. Поскольку мы приехали поздно, то проснулись тоже поздно. Во время завтрака ровно в 12:00 в двери начал стучать сотрудник отеля и в грубой форме потребовал освободить номер. Я сказал сотруднику, что мне нужно несколько минут, чтобы семья смогла допить чай. Наши вещи были собраны. Через 7 минут мы покинули номер. Ресепционист всё это время стоял в дверях и требовал доплату. Даже угрожал вызвать полицию. Дорогие друзья! В своей жизни я посетил больше сотни стран, и никогда не считал в скольких отелях я останавливался. 33 года я возглавляю своё туристкое агентство. Всегда сотрудники отелей идут навстречу туристам и позволяют задержаться на несколько часов с выселением, если есть такая возможность. Это называется дружелюбие персонала и отеля. На стоянке перед мотеле не было ни одного автомобиля. В данном случае персонал испортил настроение моей семье на весь день, поэтому я ставлю оценку отелю САМУЮ НИЗКУЮ. Так работать нельзя! Так не работают.
