Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Family run, friendly service. Rooms had all we needed and they kids loved the pool
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cheryl very welcoming and informative. Great pool. Great bed. Close to beaches
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Shelly was excellent - friendly, helpful & accommodating. The room was spacious and clean, however it is severely dated and run down. The photos on line are not recent and not indicative of what you will find. It was quiet & suitable for an overnight but I wouldn’t stay longer than that.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Service and staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful! Hotel was dated, but clean and comfortable!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Happy with our stay. Room had a slight smell upon arrival but was unable to smell it after a short period of being in the room. Room was clean and well presented and the kids loved the pool and walk to the beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice pool area, helpful staff.Outdoor table needed cleaning and fly screen door would not lock from outside.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The size of the room was good. It was very quiet and the location was really close to the beach.
- Steve (10/5): - great hosts nice affordable place
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Really disappointed for the price we paid. Run down, booked a 2 bedroom apartment, needed up in a studio.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I didn't like the people running the motel, the reception area was the worst i have seen in Australia, the people were very. very dirty they look like a horror movie, I am not exaggerating. the room smell bad, one of the lights next to the bed did not work, and most important, the front door once it was lock it could not unlock, when i complaint they dismiss it saying it was playing up,
I will never go there again, shame on you Wot if.
- Sally (8/5): - Excellent place to stay with a pet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was an excellent place to stay.It was relaxing and had everything we needed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly hotel, clean and comfortable in great location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property was filthy, unkempt and felt dangerous. The presentation of the manager was completly unacceptable, dirty, no shoes and no teeth. Walking past the pool we were walking around dog poo.
We left the property within 15 mins and lost our money. The hotel we did stay in said Seychelles is a place that accomodates centerlink emergency housing people.
We felt we were set up and the only way it could get worse is if we were mugged.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean and tidy, friendly staff would stay here again
- Henrik (8/5): Good budget accommodation - Very friendly owner and Staff. Overall very clean but could use a renovation and some more kitchen equipment. Super close to the beach and we saw koalas in the park next to the hotel in the wild! Budget accommodation overall but good for that level of cost &service. Also nice to have a good size pool for the kids and outdoor BBQ for use.
- Aaron (6/5): Do drop in - Stayed I night had a swim left early corner store take away neer by
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to beach area and hiking. Nice pool. Free parking
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Checking in was difficult as no one on reception and we had to call. But we our phone didn’t work to Australian number. Room was big, but looked shabby and beds rickety and old- not good value for money. 3 miles out of town was longer than expected too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Adequate on a budget. - Fairly well equipped older style room. We had the one bedroom apartment which had everything you needed, though some of the items were a bit old and in need of replacing. Bathroom had a washer and drier in it, which was super helpful. Kitchen was a bit worn down, with cupboard doors missing and the pan needed to be replaced. Room was fairly comfortable though and quite large. Car parking was onsite, though you'd probably struggle to get a large car in and out especially in the undercover section. Service was friendly and helpful. Sea Acres rainforest centre was literally 100m up the road. Fairly quiet area from our experience.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There were no under blankets on the mattresses and the mattresses felt very unclean. There was no mattress support The bathroom was clean. I just felt the whole place was grotty from the reception to the outside. Nothing like the pictures. I would have paid for other accommodation if it was available and would have foreited the cost of the accomodation. To be charged $167 for this room is highway robbery regardless if Port Macquarie was busy. They have long term guests whop obviously have the run of the place. Needs upkeep badly for a more welcoming appearance
- Verified traveler (8/5): Budget accommodation - Budget priced accommodation, bed was a bit uncomfortable. Clean and relatively spacious. Decent fridge, nice large flatscreen tv, old microwave and beds. Good swimming pool. Pet friendly, off street under cover parking
- David (8/5): - Neat and clean for its age, nice big pool and BBQ area - the Koalas were an extra treat!… value for money!…
- Lisa (6/5): - Property was closer to the quieter beaches than other motels. Area was quiet of a night time. Close to rainforest/coastal walks. Two doors away from great little takeaway place and convenience store. Bathroom old but acceptably clean. Kitchenware could use an update and/or more utensils pots etc. Coffee plunger would have been nice.
- Bill (6/5): - I would not like to stay there again, the front yard was a mess.
- NorthtoSouth (6/5): - The pros:
Staff are friendly and accommodating- happy to help with anything you need
If you have a dog you may stash there upon approval with your dog
The units are large and will have enough room to accommodate your stay
Perfect for a layover but I don’t think I’d be keen to stay lo her
Clean (other than smell or carpet)
Kitchenette
Bath
Aircon
Pool
The cons:
The room I stayed in (I think a dog specific room) stank of wet dog which was disappointing- they probably need to give the carpets a good shampoo to resolve this but it was quite a strong odour that stuck around the entire time
The rooms are older style
Beds are not great
- Rod (6/5): - Last minute booking. Reception staff was friendly. Room was clean but old. It was satisfactory for a short notice one night stopover, but I wouldn’t want to spend a lengthy stay.
- Karenne (6/5): No Human Contact - Received a phone call to say the rom was open , key on the table. When checking out no one there ,called & was told to leave key on table & door open.A bit of human contact would have been nice.Room needed a god clean as well as Parking area ,boxes of rubbish left there.
- Adrian (2/5): Plenty of potential IF renovated and well-run - 1. No-one present in office during our whole stay. I had to ring a mobile number and was told our room number.
2. Motel is currently being renovated - and hence is not well-maintained.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Like a third world boarding house ! - This apartment/motel should not be on lastminute.com, the standard is well below par. I booked two single rooms for one night. One reason I chose this motel was because it had advertised a 24 hour check in desk. I never saw anyone from the motel at all ! The first room had a door swollen and badly repaired that needed a very strong person to physically shut or open the door. I rang to say this was unsuitable as I couldn't sleep in a room with a door I couldn't shut and was directed to another room. This room had food in the fridge and cupboards and we were almost expecting someone to come home to it !! The whole place, all three rooms we were offerred had a terrible odour, possibly cigarette smoke or just generally dirty. Although the linen seemed clean the rest of the room was not and looked as if it had never had a thorough clean. That night I discovered the air con in my room was not working properly and had a very cold night, I looked at the spare blanket but I think dogs had been sleeping on it and did not like to use it. The grounds and other apartments were in a very unkempt state and it looked more like a cheap boarding house. Then to top it off at midnight a couple in the next apartment (who aparently rent permanently) had a huge domestic with swearing and screaming that went on for some time. Very unsettling for my elderly relative sleeping alone in one of the rooms. needless to say we will never stay here again!
- Sally (8/5): Friendly - Very friendly and helpful management, a comfortable stay
- Ken (6/5): Long way to shops and town centre - found the current Manger/Owner very helpful.
Unit very tired and needs new furniture to help it's appearance.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very old property & in need of major renovations.
- dj (6/5): NIce Stay - Was in a good spot to stay room was nice just a bit dated for the price toilet door pealing falling apart found the grounds not looked after once again for the price . i think as there was a shortage on rooms due to the concert in town i would stay again as it was nice but for the price i should book early
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dirty dishes/cutlery/glasses/walls - Definitely the worst accommodation I've stayed in so far, the walls had dirty marks all over and chips in them, the room only had 2 beds in it even though we paid for 3 (didn't raise a fuss over it because we were only 2 travellers but hey we didn't get what we paid for so that kinda sucked), the dishes/cutlery/glasses were filthy and looked like *some* of them had been hand washed sparingly, while others completely neglected for who knows how long. There was no sink in the kitchen, there was a little bowl of tea and coffee sachets but *no kettle anywhere*. Cobwebs in the corners of the room and all around the outside area, room had a distinct odour to it, parking was difficult, there was a couch blocking the side door to our room... There was also no staff member in the reception and I had to phone the number on the side of the building to be told to wait for the staff member to show up (granted they were nearby and showed up shortly but still not what you want when you arrive).
The only positive experience I had there was that the air conditioning worked well and the bed was relatively comfortable.
I would not recommend this hotel unless everything else is booked out, frankly I would have booked another hotel and just left had I booked more than 2 nights.
- david (4/5): no office, one staff member, by phone. - room not serviced, car parking atrocious, service non existant.
- cdjl (10/5): Great well-priced family accommodation. - The couple who run this place are so lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Apartment had a full kitchen (ie proper stove top and oven, decent sized fridge and microwave) . Laundry had both machine and dryer. This makes such a difference to families! Beds very comfy. Has not been recently renovated but no matter when it was a great size apartment and had all we needed. Pool also great for kids.
- John (8/5): - A nice clean comfortable motel for the price. Good value at the cheaper end of accommodation in the area
- Phil (2/5): - Worst bed I've ever tried to sleep in.Old and shabby and smelly room.Cutlery and crockery were dirty.Should be closed down
- Matt (6/5): Good location - Really old and dated and dark room. Really overpriced for what you get. Pool was nice though.
- Alison (4/5): Older style motel - This was an older style motel in a good location. What was very disappointing was the beds, all three mattresses were very old and sagging and the queen bed had a wooden base which squeaked loudly with every movement. The room and linen were all clean and there was not a lot of night time noise. If only the beds were replaced with new ones it would be a nice place to stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Average motel, various problems - Only saw owner once, when we had to phone her when we arrived to collect keys. She was not to be found on our departure at 8.15am. No room service - bed unmade after first night, no clean towels, no replacement of sugar, tea, coffee, etc. Our room very close to pool so noise from other guests. Room could have been cleaner - as a commercial enterprise it was poor. It has inspired me to clean my own home! but that is not being offered to guests!
- Cindy (6/5): Hotel being Slowly Improved Near the Beach - We were greeted warmly and escorted to our room. This is a small apartment complex that in our observation is being slowly done up. New paintwork, bed linen and doona's all made it feel fresh.
Everything was booked out in Port Macquarie but despite the business the team took time to recommend a restaurant and come back to us with answers to various questions....very helpful.
- Terryanne (10/5): Great place to stay and close to the beach - They were lovely people that run it and the kids loved swimming in the beautiful pool at the end of our day
- Verified traveler (2/5): It's what's on the OUTSIDE that counts, right? - After standing by an unattended office for close to 15 minutes after a long, exhausting 4 hour drive, I was finally greeted by the very friendly Apartment manager. From there I was happily directed to my room. However, the smile was soon to be wiped from my face as the sliding door screeched open and I was overwhelmed by a musky scent that could've absorbed even the stench of moth-balls.
Once white now cream walls, cracked walls, ceilings, and stained curtains were just some of the characteristics that made this room so appealing to vacate for the majority of my stay and even eat dinner within the confinement of the passenger seat of my car.
However, there comes a time where we all must go home to eventually face the music.
As night settled in after the conclusion of a long day, it was time to retreat to a bed with a mattress, not even fit for a prison cell.
The thought of waking up at 6:00am, after a three hour broken sleep is not ideally the thought that comes to mind when I think about a "relaxing weekend retreat".
All was not bad however. Coffee making facilities were available. But the novelty of that too was short lived as I reached for a coffee stained mug. And another. And another. Eventually, I gave up.
I can honestly say, in my many years of travel, staying in a variety of accommodation styles, this is the first time it has cost me over $100 per night to have to shower with thongs on, only to leave feeling dirtier than before I arrived.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good comfortable woul recommend to family n firends .
- Lynette (8/5): - A quick stop. Cheap and comfortable. Nothing flash. The surrounds and outside areas are untidy but the room was clean.
- glenn (2/5): Poorly presented in a nice spot - The car park was full of people's rubbish and broken down cars and difficult to park
The unit was dirty and had mould on the ceiling in the bathroom and over the bed .the kitchenette and bathroom cupboard are all tatie on the edges and dirty .the bed was very old and uncomfortable and could feel the springs
- vik (2/5): Try to avoid - Horrible.... Worst place to live. Rooms were smelly uncomfortable. Overall rating in terrible
- Verified traveler (6/5): Tired and needs a serious update - Didn’t want to touch the Fiona and blankets. Stained and old and needed cleaning. Rooms old and worn
- Ted (4/5): Very Poor for the money paid. - If you just need somewhere to put your head down for the night, this place may suffice. The beds were very very uncomfortable ( clean sheets though) the room itself was very old , if you want to walk into town "pack a lunch" it a long hike. After looking around the next day, we got a lot better accommodation and cheaper.
- Peter (10/5): - Great staff - comfortable, spacious and tranquil accommodation all of which made our stay extremely pleasurable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Couldn’t sleep cause was too scared someone would break in
- Leonie (6/5): Could do with a makeover - Whilst the owners were delightful, the Seychelles could do with a makeover. Dated and in need of a good spruce up. The location is good for the beach. Road noise.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was older and by the pictures thought more upmarket which is why I picked as a treat for my daughter For the price paid I did expect better was disappointed, but staff was fantastic, although still awaiting receipt to be e-mailed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great stop over if all you need is a clean room and somewhere to sleep.
- Sonia (6/5): Close to the beach - It was a decent setting, but we were a bit disappointed overall. The room had a huge TV and the pillows were comfortable. The hosts were very friendly too. However, the room itself was very ordinary and dated. There was no door on the freezer so we couldn't keep our ice bricks frozen.
- Matthew (4/5): Disappointing - Room liked nothing like picture - much less attractive and smelt of cigarette smoke .
Great location though on quiet end of town great walking , yoga studio nearby was great - overall just poor value for money
- brendan (6/5): Seychelles - The hotel was ok but very tired, parking was hard, rooms clean but dated and for the price not good value. If it was 50% of what we paid it would be about right. We stayed at many hotels up and down the coast and had much better accomodation for half there price in many places
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel is really old and in desperate need of a renovation.
- brett (8/5): Reasonably priced, easy to get to. - Good motel for the type/budget. Owners excellent went above and beyond, friendly very helpful. Thanks.
- Sally (8/5): Good place to stay with a dog! - Very pleasant, quiet, good parking, pretty pool, lovely area
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I arrived at the hotel around 8pm. I had to call the phone number on the reception office to have a staff member come and meet me. I was shown to a room, which was not of the same level that I had booked. Upon asking about the missing facilities, I was taken to another room. When I entered the room, and cockroach went running out of the room. The shower looked like it had not been cleaned properly for a while. I was advised that the room had not been used for a while, but in my opinion that is no excuse.
- Jo (6/5): Easy placate stay - ~5 minutes down the track to the beach. Facilities are a bit tired - hasn't changed much in 30 years!
- Richard (10/5): Great value - Short business stay but really friendly staff, clean and comfortable room.
- Hugh (8/5): Flashback in time - Modern enhancement of the 70s - 80s era with capsule bath shower, very relaxing, big lounge and round dining table. Fun for a beach family holiday.
- Verified traveler (4/5): rundown premises, needs major renovation - room was rundown, needs renovating, the cupboard doors under the bathroom sink were swollen from water damage, room smelt like it had not been opened/used for some time. Very different to the photographs on the motel website.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Large room. Clean. Older accomodation. Beds reasonable but due for replacement. Signs of wear and tear. Large flat screen TV is good but should be hanging on a wall not on the small kitchenette bench. Left no room to prepare breakfast/snacks. Bathroom basin tap too short made it very hard to wash your hands. Simple fix replace the spout.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Lovely staff but hotel is old. Parking isn't allocated to hotels, it's first in best dressed - so we had to park on the street.
- hayley (4/5): Had a pool for the kids - It wasn't well maintained had cob webs in rooms definitely needs an upgrade felt itchy from beds
- Verified traveler (6/5): It was ok. - I was put into a room with a/c and given the ridiculous heat that was a blessing. The fact that at least one room didn't have air is of concern.
Overall the stay was worth the the room cost. The place is a bit old and tires but pleasant enough.
Staff were great.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Only if your stuck - Was driving through late at night and pre-emptivly booked hotel. Met by friendly staff who helped us check in.
But her friendliness was the highlight. Joined family rooms were from the 70's. We had someones hair all over the bathroom floor when we checked in, an oversized TV balancing on a kitchen bench (in a family room.....go figure) and beds that felt like they hadnt been updated since the 70's. For the price we paid....i would have rather slept in our car.
Hard to believe in an age of cheap Kmart and Ikea homewares...that it still felt so old and depressing
- Verified traveler (4/5): No air conditioning - No air conditioning and checked in on a very hot summer day. Too hot at night for a decent sleep.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We thought the apartment was very much overpriced.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great for a stop over on the way home - Staff are very friendly. We had an overall quiet stay with our babies. The room was clean and comfortable the only negative was that there was no air con. Apart from that I have nothing bad to say
- Angry (2/5): Awful - What a dump. How are places like this still able to be allowed to operate. Dirty, dated all round disgusting. Management were so pleasant but the hotel was not worth any money at all. We couldnt stay here. Turned around and left. We preferred to drive for another 4 hours than stay there. So angry that I didn't read reviews as we were in a rush. Should have realised why they had vacancies at Xmas.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place, close to the beach and pet friendly. - We had a pleasant stay and the area is lovely. The dogs also enjoyed being able to stay with us in their kennel rather than in thd car. Overall it was a nice place to be.
- Angy (10/5): Large family space near the beach. - We were greeted by a very friendly owner and other staff. Our unit was well kept with a kitchenette, laundry and all other facilities needed by a family.
- kelly (10/5): 10/10 - Easy to find after driving for hours, had everything we needed, staff were friendly and helpful, close to beach and we were allowed to have our puppy with us.
100% happy customers
- Waza (4/5): Nice staff but room in disrepair - The room I was given was showing signs of age, that is, it had paint peeling from the roof, cracks in the plaster, broken toilet roll holder, no shower curtain... Basically it needed a repaint etc to bring it up to par.
Secondly the room had an adjoining door to the next room which sadly had a tenant who had his TV on till 1.15am.. Humm so not much sleep.
Otherwise the room and bed were clean and well presented for my stay.
And as I stated earlier, the staff were friendly and courteous.
I think it would be acceptable to a family wanting a budget getaway, but for a tired traveller who just wanted a quiet room, it was a disappointment.
Of course I didn't inspect the state of repair of all rooms and hope the others were better than mine.
- Eric (8/5): Quick Clean & Easy - We arrived late & left early. Our room was exactly what we needed. Large family room, clean and neat. The person we spoke to in the phone explained everything we needed to do go our late arrival - made it all easy.
- Damien (8/5): Easy stop - Spoke to the owner about animals,2 cats and a dog, he was great about it, had the keys good to go, room opened, easy check in an out. The room was great, massive King double and a spare single. Little kitchen. All in all it was great value for an overnight pit stop. Cheers
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good place to stay if you have a pet - Needs a bit of an up date but still good value , will stay again as we find its a good half way stop from Sydney to Gold Coast
- Mr V (8/5): Reasonably accomodation - The hotel is a bit dated but is reasonably priced and the room was clean and tidy.
- Nick (8/5): Night stop - Good for a night stop en-route between Sydney and Brisbane. Room spacious and comfy. Hotel staff friendly and flexible.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Its was an ok overnight stay, have lots of potentia - Ok overnight stay, big room, good bed, could have more potential if the room's ceiling clean and the sheets need a proper clean/a bit smell. The lady staff is very friendly.
- jojo (4/5): Not good - We paid $125 to stay there, not worth, for that price you could get something way better. Way too much.
- DJ (4/5): Accommodation Port Macquarie - Room was dirty and dusty. The "kitchenette" was not as described, in fact it cannot be classed as a "kitchenette" at all, there was no stove-top or dishwasher (as described on the website). The plates and cutlery provided was filthy dirty (potential health hazard). There was very little privacy as the vertical blinds at the room entrance could not be closed properly. What little furniture there was in the room was very old, dirty and falling apart. No DVD player as described.
The owner and staff were very pleasant, but due to the poor quality of the room I would not recommend this accommodation.
- Colin (10/5): Great stay. - I had a fantastic stay. The bed was one of the most comfortable bed I have slept in. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and big. It is opposite beaches.
- scott (6/5): A bit dated but did the job. - A bit dated but the sheets and towels were clean and the tv worked and it was very affordable.
- Kristal (10/5): Nice place close to beach - Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable and if it was warmer we would have loved to jump in the big inviting pool!
- Rebecca (8/5): - Clean and tidy with friendly and helpful staff. Could of had more blankets otherwise all was great. Undercover parking too.
- Verified traveler (2/5): dirty. don't do it. - just an overnight stay but the only clean thing in the room were the sheets (thankfully). Couldn't use the shower cubicle because it was greasy, grimy and filthy - had to instruct the kids not to touch it. Had to clean all the drinking glasses, mugs and cutlery before using - all filthy, unwashed. Floor was dirty - kept our socks on.
Daughter asked if we could please never stay here again - says it all really.
One filthy room for $140/night was not a good deal.
- Chanelle (8/5): Right near Sea Acres - just out of town - Just out of town, you need to drive into to town. Although lovely drive into town.
Across the road from Sea Acres which is truely beautiful.
1 double and 2 singles Beds, kitchen, lounge room, all in the one room. No sink in the kitchen, need to use the tap from the bathroom, with a jug.
- Pam (6/5): nice location. close to beach and rainforest. - too many smokers in the facility. Couldn't leave my patio door open due to smoke coming through.
- Lynette (6/5): Simple but comfortable and well priced. - Would stay again. Friendly helpful owner and large room and good bed. Very reasonable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel, comfortable, close to race venue. - Easy going friendly staff, nice cozy atmosphere. Close to race venue that we were in town for. Fridge, microwave and kitchen amenities handy.
- J and A (2/5): Hotel was very dirty and run down - The room was very dirty with cob webs and spider webs. The bed had broken springs in it. Not up to today's standards. If i was paying $20 a night then i would expect it. We actually checked out and paid for another hotel for the second night.
- James (10/5): Very helpful staff - We had to make a booking very quickly at the last minute and the staff at Seychelles were very helpful in making it possible for us to stay there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good basic accommodation. Great staff. Excellent for the price.
