Guest Reviews
- Barry (7/5): Had a good stay - Location Too few facilities. Would have liked some cutlery in service room
- Ron (7/5): Comfortable, no lift a struggle with luggage. - Restaurant not available due to renovations.đ«€No breckfest available Food availability. Hot water runs cold for 26 minuites before it warms.đ đĄ
- David (10/5): My stay while partner in Jihn Hunter Hospital - Great room Everything clean and tidy, bathroom great.
- Maria (8/5): -
- Heather (9/5): -
- Shane (2/5): Very poor, unsafe and not clean - Honestly not much, the hall ways smelt like cigarettes the roof door was open. I served to a sign saying Renoâs. There was cockroaches in my room. The plug sockets were falling off the walls there was no hot water for a shower. Honestly not much, the hall ways smelt like cigarettes the roof door was open. I served to a sign saying Renoâs. There was cockroaches in my room. The plug sockets were falling off the walls there was no hot water for a shower. I went to the bar and there was cockroaches on the bar the bartender said yes itâs because of the Renoâs. I went in the toilets and it was the same but more so there were flies all over the sinks telling me they clearly had not been cleaned. I could not take photos of the public toilets or bar. The photo of the cockroach was after killing it and there at least two more.
- CRAIG (10/5): - Tidy
- kosara (10/5): Clean , comfortable relaxed stay - Location
- John (6/5): Premier, it's not. - The bed was comfortable and the wifi, aircon and TV all worked. Staff were friendly and obliging. There is a guest kitchen with a microwave and free tea and coffee (but no crockery or cutlery). I booked the hotel because it's in walking distance from both the station and the football stadium, and I didn't have my car there, having come by train. However, its kitchen was being renovated, so there was no food available, and the only food close by was the stuff sold at a nearby petrol station. Ugh. There is only one bathroom, which also contains the only toilet, for the whole seven guest rooms. The room itself is hot in the morning - the sun beats down on the flat roof and there doesn't seem to be much ceiling insulation.
- CS (3/5): - Nothing Crawling Cockroaches, no cups no kettle and no cutlery in the room. Rooms carpet is dirty
- Zale (5/5): - Parking was easy to find, staff were very friendly. Very nice beer garden and seperate rooms for pool tables, pool table was free so that was a plus. Shame the bistro was closed for renovations though. Bed made me and my partner itchy, shower head had horrible pressure and you had to run the water for 5 minutes before it got hot. We had a big issue with bugs in the ensuite. The walls are very thin and you can hear the rooms next to you. The shared kitchen was less than average, there was a weird smell coming from the fridge and the microwave was filthy.
- Howard (7/5): -
- Emily (5/5): - Comfortable bed I booked this for my FIL, hubby and 9yr old son.
FIL had king room with ensuite. There was no hot water for a shower, no light and sink not draining in the ensuite.
Husband and son had king room with shared bathroom. Balcony door very hard to open, and no hot water in the shared bathroom for showers.
Notice of restaurant closure would have been nice when I called to confirm who the guests would be.
- Gerard (2/5): -
- Deb Mac1 (2/5): Wouldn't stay again - The linen and mattress were spotlessly clean. Recent bathroom makeover. Cold shower, shower mould, cockroaches, no security screens on windows onto shared balcony. Tired, faded entry and furnishings.
- Danielle (4/5): - Well-located. Clean. Tatty. Past its best/dated. Door didnât work properly.
- Christine (4/5): Yucky - Clean sheets Cockroachs in the bathroom, closed the door so they didnt come in the bedroom, and the kitchen, they were running everywhere. Yuck won't be back.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Bruno (10/5): -

- judy (3/5): Not comfortable. Would not recommend - Staff was friendly, there was AC. The bed was very uncomfortable - despite getting a king en-suite it was two twin beds put together.
There was a bit of a musty smell in the shower.
The room was next to the public shower so it was actually very noisy til midnight and early in the morning too.
- Leanne (8/5): - Staff
Parking Due to renovations there were no meals available. It would have been good to know prior to arrival
- Cam (1/5): Absolute shit hole - Getting out of there Staff very apathetic and lazy except for one.
- Sheila (4/5): - Location fairly close to Broadmeadow train station and bus stop going into Newcastle. No cleaning was done inside the room throughout complete stay eventhough I notified staff about roaches I was only provided with extra towels while not replacing the dirty ones on the floor, walls were very thin being able to hear neighbours in their room and everyone on hallway (needed earplugs), shared kitchen was dirty with several roaches and uncomfortable to use. Price vs quality was too high.
- Jenna (10/5): - How close it was to the train station and in a convenient location
- wei (6/5): -
- Astrid (7/5): - Sauber und Parkplatz vorhanden
- Jhon Fredy (8/5): - Falta aire acondicionado en una de las alcobas,
- Danni78 (7/5): - Good location, walking distance to Newcastle entertainment centre.
Comfortable bed. Provide hanging space for clothing but no hangers.
Paint missing from wall.
Stained carpet.
- Ian (10/5): -
- Tara Hicks (5/5): - This location is quiet because the pub is quiet. Saturday night it was dead. A junkie came into the hotel and punched out 2 windows and bar staff during our stay. The room was filthy. They have never vaccumed behind the bedside tables, they didnt wipe down the bedside tablea, the walls were so grubby, the window handle was sticky. I would never stay here again.
- John (10/5): Room 1 door to go outside is hard to close -
- Colleen Allen (8/5): - Location. Good value for money Shower needs a door to stop water going all over the floor.
- William Ernest Balarama (5/5): - Location was OK, and plenty of parking space. Room stank of cigarettes, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking... Probably due to the "balcony" outside being a "smoking balcony" shared by multiple rooms. Blinds were broken so people could look in, and unable to block out light from outside. Holes in the wall. Cockroaches all over the place in the room and bathroom. Very noisy - especially when the pokies were being started up at 7:30am, blasting noise very loudly. For what I paid, I expected better.
- PETER (5/5): - Violent patrons arguing in next room
- Megan (10/5): - The staff were amazing so helpful and friendly the facility was perfectly clean great value-for-money
- Belinda (6/5): The location is perfect, The room clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful - the location is perfect for where I need to be, The bistro was closed for renovations I was helpfully pointed towards and the nearest street of restaurants which is only a 15 minute walk away the shower took soo long to get warm that I ended up having a cold shower because I had places to be and I wasnât sure if the exhaust fan was causing noise in the adjacent rooms at 5am
Also my room had no mirror in it, that would be handy rather than taking up the shared bathroom for non water requiring mirror things
- Michael (7/5): - Close to town
- Jasmin (6/5): -
- Special (7/5): Lovely - Lovely and clean
- Yulia (7/5): Okay for 1 night - Decent place to stay for this kind of money. The bed was comfortable and the location was very good (just about 7-8 minutes of walking from the train staion) There was a big cockroach in my room, right next to my pillow, and it was pretty disgusting. On top of that, the walls are pretty thin, so I could hear the people next door.
- Croft (7/5): -
- Ashton (7/5): -
- Dennis (9/5): - Location comfortable rooms. Nothing realy.
- Van Der Wal (9/5): -
- Ann (9/5): Room was better than expected and dinner was excellent. - Ran out of hot water.
- Scott (8/5): Very cosy - Did not have breakfast I liked it all no complaints with me
- David (9/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Jade (8/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): Great place to stay when you are just needing somewhere to eat and sleep - The location the staff the price The bunk bed was wobbly and squeaky
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Katie (8/5): -
- Ferydoon (6/5): -
- Latta (10/5): -
- Ravi (6/5): -
- Huanhuan (8/5): It's a good stay. - The hotel has a restaurant which provide decent food. And it's not noisy at night.
During our stay, we had two dinners in the restaurant which is very convenient. The main bedroom is spacious, but the bunkbed room is small and far away from the air-condition and it's a little hot at night in summer.
- Trent (10/5): -
- David (8/5): Great break in a very affordable and nice hotel - We used it as a base to do some cycling around Newcastle & Lake Macquarie, it was very well priced over the holidays and suited us perfectly, good food and friendly hotel/bar staff.
- Linda (10/5): - Everything was great only a small issue that can be fixed otherwise it was close to where I was working and close to shops as I don't live in the area I did not like the conditions of the room I stayed in as the blinds were broken which did not give much privacy especially for a female staying in a hotel, it was making me feel a little bit uncomfortable as you can walk around on the balcony
- Phil (10/5): -
- King (5/5): - Room was ok.. Location is bit out from the town centre.
Suited more for solo travellers.
Not family friendly.
- DINGRONG (10/5): -
- Lauren (7/5): Pleasant stay. - Clean, comfortable room. Good bed, air con, noise was kept to a minimum after 10pm. Wasnât a seperate shower and toilet for shared facilities, 1 hook to hang clothes in the bathroom, no bar fridge in room.
- Jessay (10/5): -
- Darren (10/5): -
- Stephanie (5/5): Needs TLC - Comfortable bed. Quiet. Rooms are âfunctionalâ at best - not much in the way of making them pretty.
1 bathroom/ toilet for 10 rooms - AND it was in dire need of renovation and a decent clean.
- Kerry (8/5): -
- Jessay (10/5): -
- Damian (7/5): -
- Susan (7/5): I will stay there again because its cost is reasonable and location suits my purposes. - Overall the family room was good. Plain, but adequate. It was quiet for a hotel, and in a convenient location for my purposes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food at the hotel downstairs was good and didnt take long to come and reasonable prices. The room was clean and it was close to the kitchenette next door. Car park was convenient and undercover. I have stayed there before and will do so again. Air conditioning worked well. There were blinds missing in the bedroom, which let the bright light in early in the morning which woke me and kept me awake. The bathroom window could not be locked, had no screen, if wanting the window open. That was my main concern as the window is accessible to others from the shared balcony.
- Dale (4/5): Warned to behave at check in. - Not much really. When I checked in I was read the riot act by the staff member. Warning me that if I acted, and I quote "like a dickhead " that I would be thrown out. I have never been to this place before and this staff member had never met me before. So, what a disgusting way to be welcomed to a place. The room was OK but carpet was dirty. Room was noisy with neighbouring rooms making noise into the early hours. No secure parking which was a concern as I was on a motorcycle. I won't be back.
- Wernick (8/5): -
- Darren (10/5): Value for money. - Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. Check-in staff very good. Nothing. Having a shared bathroom was odd but it was fine for one night.
- Christine (8/5): -
- melinda (8/5): Cosy Little Stay - Rooms are clean and beds comfy. Staff are friendly and accomodating. Area the pub is located is not near transport and a little far from the city of Newcastle
- Braith (1/5): -
- annie (8/5): - Pas loin de la gare a pied.
Restaurant sur place.
Station service en face pour le pt dej Pas de grille pain dans la kidchinette
Lits avec matelats a ressorts
- sally (5/5): Quite good no complaints - Did not have breakfast Kitchen a bit grubby
- David (9/5): -
- Rajesh B (8/5): -
- John (6/5): -
- stephen (1/5): -
- Cassii (10/5): Great trip away for my anniversary. - Location was brilliant and place was nice Nothing
- Eduardo (1/5): -
- Aastha (3/5): Disappointing - Nothing really, given the money we spent for the room. Itâs not suitable for families. The facility was too noisy and guests in other rooms were shutting doors so loudly that our kids were feeling scared. The bunk bed was so wobbly that we couldnât allow our older kid to sleep on top as climbing up and down could have possibly flipped it to one side. Would not recommend this place for $255 per night for a family room.
- pauw (7/5): - Reception was really helpful Rooms where dated blinds on windows where broken
- John (3/5): -
- Sudip (9/5): -
- Sam (7/5): -
- Jordan (4/5): Crackden - Close to shops 1 toilet for 7 room if I'd known that I wouldn't of paid 260 for 2 nights the photos are a con
- Alan (5/5): -
- Asmat (9/5): -
- Craig (9/5): -
- Matthew (4/5): - Staff rude. Room not clean when checked in
- Kevin (9/5): - Location was great for our stay and the staff were very friendly The restaurant is very spacious but the meals were not good meat was overcooked
- farrell (8/5): -
- Trish and Bill (9/5): will definatly stay again - Check in staff was great, friendly, room was quiet. would have been nice to have had a kettle in the room rather than having to go down the corridor to make a cuppa, we managed , but would have been handy ( I am a bit of a tea a-holic ) some previous guest thought it a great joke (I assume) to switch the hot and cold buttons in the showers !! NOT FUNNY !!!! there are signs suggesting to run the shower Hot water till it runs through, switching the buttons meant a lot of wasted water until a person realises that the buttons have been switched. Did let the reception know, they are going to fix it.
