Guest Reviews
- Sandra (8/5): - Great place to stay
- Karen (10/5): - The Globe Inn is a beautiful historic building. Our room was gorgeous with everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time on the balconyin in the evening and morning. Would recommend staying here. Hope to come back someday.
- Susan (10/5): - Beautiful historic building, a piece of history well restored and kept. Lovely amenities, tea coffee biscuits on arrival waiting in the room and drawing room. This was a nice touch after a long drive. Historic fittings, luxury linens, beautiful verandah. Friendly caring host. Amazing drawing room with lounges and tables and fire, would be very warm and fun in winter. No longer serves breakfast it is called an Inn. Some websites incorrectly still refer to BnB, however plenty of cafes to choose from round corner in the Main Street. I’d recommend newly renovated soldiers club for delicious dinner.
- Annelies (6/5): - Historical property
No tea making in room - no glass or cup/mug available
Lighting outside garden room poor - difficult at night
Bed comfortable
Flag stone path not safe for elderly (myself)
- David (10/5): - Lovely historic Inn c.1847 I think. Charlie our host was most helpful.
We loved Yass and would come back.
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely property. Warm room and comfy bed.
- Doran (10/5): - Authentic Victorian style hotel, right in the middle of Yass but very quiet. Very private. Now has central air-conditioning which is great for winter.
- Annabel (6/5): - Nice accommodation except I was freezing overnight and in the morning. I think the heating was turned off. Not sure if this is usual practice but it made the night uncomfortable. Other than that, nice place
- david (8/5): - Loved this place.
Everything we wanted.
We stayed in unit number 2.
Our friends stayed in 4.
They payed a little extra but well worth it.
Breakfast pack was great.
Only downer was the tv was very poor (almost zero connection).
Our friends tv perfect.
We recommend it
- Jann (8/5): - Great host. V friendly helpful.
- Eric (10/5): - A trip down memory lane for us, The Globe Inn is a wonderfully renovated B&B right in the heart of town.
Don't miss the opportunity to go to Yazz Bar around the corner.
- Heather (4/5): - Very old building, very steep stairs, shallow tread on them. We would not have booked it if we had known. The proprietor was, however, very helpful and carried our cases up, and down again in the morning. It was expensive ($200) for what it was. We had trouble booking somewhere for the Sat.night but expected for that price it would have had some touches of luxury to compensate. The room was also quite small but had a high ceiling which helped. When we first arrived my husband said "I hope I don't get claustrophobia." It had tea and coffee making in the room and there was a separate shared sitting area,(also with kettle, tea, coffee but no microwave ) and access to a balcony. We were in Room 5. The mattress was thin and hard. It needs replacing. I don't normally give bad reviews (usually say nothing) but felt in this case should describe it as it is.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Website Info Needs to be Updated ASAP. - Located in 1870s inn. Delightful historical building. Very disappointing that website had not been updated to reflect 'the current' situation: * A "B&B" that no longer offers the breakfast !! (Informed about this after paying, and enquiring about it...)* Foxtel password provided in room but there is NO Foxtel available (I assume Foxtel = advertised "digital channels" ! * The "DVD player" was non-existent ! * No access information was provided for the "free Wi-Fi" * "Free self parking on site" means parking out-the-front, on the street.
- Frank (10/5): - Old world charm is alive and well in Yass
- John (2/5): - There was no fridge or microwave. The TV was smaller than my computer monitor and only about 5 channels work. The hot water ran out half-way through my shower and the towels are very stiff and scratchy. Grossly overpriced for what you get.
- Barbara (6/5): - Staff were great
- Debra (6/5): - Have stayed many times over the years and was disappointed. Room was dusty.
- Belinda (10/5): - We had a very welcoming stay. With a comfortable clean bed and a warm fire. And a beautiful breakfast to top it off.
- james (10/5): - Had a great night's stay, hosted by the engaging Julia and her husband. They are keen art and antiques collectors who clearly love their old hotel.
We opted for the rustic Garden Room (It was probably once a servants quarters or the kitchen), downstairs and out the back next to the kitchen garden and several friendly cats.
We went for dinner that night in a terrific Indian restaurant round the corner in the main street and afterwards lay happily in bed looking up at the vaulted timber shingled ceiling while a fire flickered in the wood burner, casting a cheerful glow over our room.
Next morning we were served a terrific cooked breakfast in the upstairs dining room which opens onto a huge verandah/balcony where you look over the police station and court house.
Ours was a B&B experience extraordinaire thanks to our host's personal attention and the taste we were given of old Australia.
- Pamela (10/5): - Beautiful Georgian residence. Everything needed for a comfortable stay. Host very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was tasty and very filling. Easy walk to main street. Great spot.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Fantastic stay. Loved the breakfast.
- Kelvin (10/5): An absolute pearler! - We were greeted by our host, shown our room and also shown a lovely seating area out on the verandah. There was tea, coffee and water for us to help ourselves, as well as home made shortbread which was delicious. Our room was beautiful and spacious.
- James (10/5): - So welcoming and a fascinating place to stay - if only the walls could talk!
- Peter (10/5): - Beautiful old pub building with all the modern comforts. Breakfast was awesome. Hospitality was great.
- gwen (6/5): - Our confirmation stated that our room would have a king size bed, aircon, coffee making facilities and toiletries. We had a queen bed, no aircon, no coffee making facilities and no toiletries. It was a quirky room in the garden not in the main house and not what we ordered. The welcome and breakfast were good which was just as well as we were not very happy with the room
- Vinka (10/5): - Beautiful 170 year old Inn in a perfect location with excellent hosts. Highly recommend!
- Brenda (10/5): - The room and bed were very comfortable, the home cooked breakfast was lovely and the staff were extremely helpful.
- Karen (8/5): - Globe Inn was a beautiful B & B. The historic charm was evident thd moment you drove through the gate right up to entering our room number 3, upstairs. The huge upstairs verandah was perfect for relaxing in one of many comfy chairs and lounges. Tea and coffee, plus Anzac biscuits were available. Our room was spacious and clean. There are some areas where some maintanance is required but all up we were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and hearty, served by Julie and her husband who were acting as custodians while the owners were overseas. We would be happy to return.
- Tracey (10/5): - We loved the old building, the relaxing verandah area, the garden area, breakfast, little extras and the very friendly and helpful hosts.
Thank you
- Chris (10/5): - Great value for money in a convenient location in a delightful town.

- Kerrie (10/5): - We couldn’t have asked for a better place . It was beautifully decorated , lovely bed . Gorgeous verandah and magnificent breakfast . I would highly recommend the globe inn
They were also very helpful when I had car trouble and very kind
- Tony (10/5): - Brilliant hospitality and one of the best b&b breakfasts we ever had.
- Patrick (10/5): - What a charming place and warm staff!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Loved the character of the old inn and the quirky furnishings. Very friendly and helpful owners. I would have liked a larger television and a refrigerator in the room.
- Celia (10/5): - We really appreciated the friendliness of Julie and Charlie, very similar warm welcome when we were there previously with Louise!
Enjoyed our tasty brecky.
Many thanks for your help with our luggage too.... that was certainly going 'the extra mile'.

- Priscilla (10/5): As good as it gets - This is my favourite place to stay in NSW. It is family run, always extra friendly, so so comfortable and clean enough to make me feel perfectly at ease and I am a dreadful clean freak. The bathrooms are a tad old and less than luxurious, but overall that is just a quaint feature of a property in which the hosts and the ambience and the bed and linen and breakfasts are perfect.
- Jo and Matt (10/5): - Was all round very friendly, clean, great food and all amenities were there ...and also loved the pets!! Great service
- Ruth (8/5): - A lovely old building and welcoming owners provided us with a comfortable and pleasant overnight stay.
- Jaymee (10/5): - Owners were extremely lovely and the breakfast that was included was better than any cafe breakfast I have had, was overall extremely enjoyable :)
- David (10/5): - This was a delightful place to stay: warm, comfortable, and beautifully restored. Breakfast was superb, and we were made genuinely welcome. We would happily stay again.
- Rosemary (4/5): - Given the almost perfect score reviews that i saw and reputation of The Globe Inn, and for the price, I expected quality accommodation. Instead in the Garden Room I found a number of disappointments including cobwebs draping from the ceiling over the bed, chipped and crumbly dislodged chunks of floor brick which hurt to walk on in bare feet, no bathmat, a shower nozzle located above a window which pivoted down and showered the window unless I reached up repeatedly to point it over me (fortunately I am above average height and could reach it), missing tiles on the step to the the toilet cubicle making the step sharp and unsafe, a flickering overhead light which therefore could not be used, no chairs to use at the table.
The pillows and bedding were comfortable and clean, the biscuits on arrival were delicious, the heating worked well, the water was hot.
- Lynda (10/5): - Loved the historic ambience, delicious breakfast and calming garden. Disliked the 9.30 curfew.
- Lisa (10/5): - Comfy bed, hot, hot shower, lovely hosts, charming home!
- Sandra (10/5): - Liked the ambience; the accommodation of the owners to our needs; the size of the rooms; the large verandah; its position re the main street; the breakfast.
Top rate.
- Robyn (10/5): - We loved everything about this property, the rooms, the owners, the breakfast, the treats, the garden!
Our second visit.
- Aldo (10/5): - We had a wonderful time right from the first warm welcome, the comfortable bed and spacious bedroom, relaxing in front of the open fire in the lounge room and through to the two course cooked breakfast. The Inn is right in town so all of Yass was within easy walking distance. The proprietors appeared determined to ensure you had an enjoyable, friendly and relaxing stay.
- Anastasia (10/5): - Julie and Charlie are fabulous hosts and the place has a very warm and intimate atmosphere. We will return!🌸
- Leanne (10/5): - Lovely owners and delicious breakfast, gorgeous huge balcony. Lots of character.
- Stacy (10/5): - Great character building, lovely room, friendly & professional staff & a superb breakfast. Will gladly stay there again!
- Justin (10/5): - Not just a room for the night, but an experience!
- Pauline (10/5): - Lovely rooms. Friendly host. Tasty breakfast.
- Ruth (10/5): - Everything was excellent
- Stephen (10/5): - Great old world feel and hosts extremely friendly
- James (10/5): - Rooms are very comfortable, generous breakfast, friendly hosts, a great stopover on our travels
- Ashley (10/5): - Beautiful property , the balcony was a perfect location for an afternoon of wine and relaxation.
The hosts were so lovely.
- Amanda (10/5): - Would recommend to anyone coming to or travelling through Yass - Lovely historic building - clean and comfortable
Lovely people and surroundings
- Elizabeth (10/5): - It was wonderful to step inside a piece of history and be looked after by wonderful hosts.
The breakfast was delicious and our room, very comfortable

Wonderful breakfast on balcony
- Charanjit (10/5): - Gorgeous period property located in the centre of town.
- Michelle (10/5): - Lovely comfortable accomodation. We stayed in the family room which was actually two rooms joined together so plenty of space to stretch out! The breakfasts out on the verandah were a real highlight and the hosts warm and welcoming. Will be visiting again!
- Gordon (8/5): - Close to river and town,
Beautiful balcony,
Great breakfast.
- Sarah (10/5): Outstanding B&B - Outstanding B&B with such lovely, warm hosts. We had a large, comfortable and very clean room with ensuite. Highlight: the breakfast! But shhh...don't tell anyone about this gem as we don't want it to be booked out next time we go through!
- Sharon (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful - gorgeous property and the breakfast was amazing. Also a great location - walk into town!
- Frank (10/5): - Julia and Charlie are wonderful hosts and made us feel at home. The room was beautiful and tastefully appointed and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The Globe Inn has a real old world feel but works for today.
We plan to come back again and again.
Julia’s cooked breakfast is prepared with care and is delicious.

- Joan (10/5): - Brilliant and friendly service
Charming property
- Colin (10/5): - This property is extremely unique being built in 1847. I t has along with the owners a way to make you feel like you are at home
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super charming, warm and kind staff and the most wonderful BIG breakfast!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We had a room that was not fit for purpose. It was not part of the building but was more like an old stone shed. The floor was old uneven bricks. It had an open fire which went out during the night. The electric heater simply didn’t heat the room. It was freezing. The bathroom was part of the bedroom!
On the plus side the owners tried hard to please and the breakfast was very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The architecture furnishings are Early Australian with magnificent verandah lounges and fireplaces. A genuine experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely historic house in the heart of Yass.
We stayed overnight in the garden cottage. Really comfortable bed. Very cosy and well heated by the wood fire and oil heater.
Good breakfast and lovely staff and hosts.
- Wanda (10/5): Comfortable & Friendly - Beautiful vintage style B & B , clean & comfortable room, friendly service & served a lovely cooked breakfast.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fabulous location
Awesome verandah balcony to relax and enjoy their great breakfast!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing Garden apartment with lots of charm including a fireplace and spa.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I really liked the warm and cosy feel of the 1800’s property which has been restored to it’s natural beauty. Lots of art books, a cosy fire and veranda where you could relax and sip a wine or enjoy the included breakfast. The family room even had a number of games for the kids.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved this place! Old world charm , wonderful staff and an amazing breakfast !
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely property and hosts . Only very small side shower head wasn’t attached correctly and difficult to use - absolutely minor issue . Comfortable beds .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Authentic historic property and location.
Great wide verandah overlooking the street. Excellenbt breakfast room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The old building with rooms with great character.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our favourite stopover between Melbourne and Sydney. Comfortable beds, gorgeous and private rooms, lovely warmly welcoming hosts...it’s lovely to sip wine on the capacious verandah over the street as the sun goes down. The Yazzbar just a few steps away is a unique and delightful place for a light meal and an exotic drink. Yummy breakfast, good walks along the gorge......Canberra up the road. Highly recommend staying in this beautifully maintained 1850’s building.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing Service, beautiful location, fantastic room and facilities.
Breakfast was 5 star.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Once again we had a lovely stay at The Globe. The hosts were very welcoming and served a delicious breakfast. The room was spacious with very nice extra touches such as cookies and bottled water. Breakfast on the Verandah was a lovely way to start the day.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - great place with plenty of character. the staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast was magnificent.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was over booked we had to have a room off the dinning room with no lock on door no bathroom had to walk through dinning room and down a hall go to toilet the bedroom had just 2 single beds very disappointed exspecially after been charged 225 for the night on Expedia so I never book through Expedia again
