• Lynn (10/5): A dog lovers delight! Roomy, cozy and welcoming. - Our host was amazingly helpful, welcoming and generous. A delight. She could not do enough for us. And her breakfast in the summer garden was delicious! Rutherglen experiences a lot of heavy truck traffic passing through. You could hear it at night.
• Sarah (10/5): A perfect stay for dogs and their humans! - Chris the host made both of us and our dog SO welcome - I have never known such a welcoming host. We found the cottage well equipped for us but Chris had gone to great trouble providing everything a dog could need - including even some treats and a cover for the bed incase the dog jumped on it!!! There was also a secure yard for the dog. As for us the bed was so comfy and I got a relaxing, hot soak in the claw bath; bliss! There was a wide selection in the continental breakfast provided. Basically you can tell that Chris takes great pride and pleasure in the checking the smallest details in order for your stay to be the best it could be - even if only for one night. We will be back! • Martin (10/5): Heritage Stay - As the name says, Must Love Dogs. We were able to take our tri-pawd Pug on a holiday with us instead of putting her in a boarding kennel. Once the initial meet and greets were done with the Host’s dogs she had a great time as did we. The welcome package on our first day, and more so the country breakfast each morning set us up for the day. We would definitely look to stay here again if we are in this region.

Everything you need is there and contact with owners is very easy. Cooked breakfasts and requests are superb and sets you up for each day. Very comfortable place for your dog, plenty of room and Rutherglen itself is very dog friendly. Chris has heaps of recommendations for meals, wineries, places to visit and looks after her guests fantastically. Wifi, tv, split system, hot water all work great. Beautiful place to set up as a base when exploring the area. Walking distance to town.

It was a in fact a suite of 3 rooms plus a private yard. We also had shared access to the kitchen and dining rooms. The host (Chris) was the host with the most. Caring, entertaining, sweet, very eager to please the guests. The location was a short walk from town centre and the whole region was superbly dotted with wineries and Murray River and lake walks. Fantastic gettaway. Also very pet friendly! Nothing really!

The accommodation was brilliant in catering for humans and dogs alike to take away any stress in travelling with our puppy companions. Not really applicable to us as we loved our stay so much.

• Jackie (2/5): Average to say the least is the best I can say. - What you see on the front page is not what we ended up getting. We booked the queen suite, which was meant to have 1 double bed and a sofa bed. Only to find a queen bed and no sofa. Husband had spinal surgery so we cannot share the bed - meaning I ended up on the floor. The owner did offer another bed in the other cottage but the cottage had been left by previous guest in sad state, we did not want to be separated. Hence a bad night sleep we left by 6.30 very tired and needing to drive 6 hours to return home. There was no kitchen to wash cups etc, power board inside the converted verandah which is now the queen suite. Furnishing was nice but very cramped. Dinner plates and cutlery were in the bedroom dresser and the little table indoors was a wire outdoor seating.

Hosts really understand dogs needs and are very accommodating. Location ideal, close to shops, restaurants. Kitchen appliances could be updated. Cooking facilities limited: no stovetop, just a small halogen hot plate. Only 1 saucepan.

We stayed in the Garden Suite which was cosy with pretty decor and some lovely touches such as hand cream and fabulous bath salts to enjoy in the beautiful claw foot bath. It was an easy walk into town, and also to Jones and De Bortoli wineries. We absolutely loved Chris and Charlie's gorgeous dogs! We don't have a dog ourselves but really enjoyed all the attention from their five adorable fur babies. Chris cooked up a delicious breakfast of Eggs Benedict, served in a beautiful dining room, and we enjoyed our long and engaging chats with Chris. We hope to be able to visit again! • Peter (4/5): Comfortable but disappointing - It was clean and the bed was huge and comfortable. The site is very dog friendly. Chris was very knowledgeable for our questions. Unfortunately the rest was disappointing . Although it was just my wife and I, there is no way the villa would suit a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children. The bed was huge but that was the only bed apart from a single foldaway. There is no light in the bedroom apart from 2 side lamps but there is a switch on the wall labelled light. When I asked about the WiFi, I was told that Chris would have to bring in a modem? The bathroom is dangerous. No shower screen or curtain, so the floor gets slippery & toilet seat gets wet. Apart from a small light outside the villa door, there is no other outdoor lighting.

• Venessa (10/5): Fantastic dog-friendly B&B with exceptional hosts - Amazing hospitality from Chris, Charlie and their dogs! Our room was clean and spacious, with a very comfy bed, everything we would need and a great outdoor space for our dog to explore. Great location, very close to the main street. Couldn't find a better place to stay with your dog. The breakfasts were delicious and Chris is a fantastic host. Nothing!
