However bathroom was dirty , cleaners have no eye for detail , pubic hair over the floor , washed the floor myself with detergent i had in the car and boiling water from the kettle, grubby indeed.
• AJPato (6/5): Overnight stay - Yes from other reviews it is a little outdated but if you need a bed for a night or two close to the centre of town this isn’t that bad. The hotel offers everything you need. Microwave, toaster, jug etc. great water pressure. Clean nice feeling linen. We enjoyed our stay. The car park is a little tight but it’s off street and I felt safe. For the costs it’s worth it. Spend your saving at the RSL just down the road. The staff couldn’t be more helpful.

• dancerman2323 (6/5): Overnight stay in the rain - Needed to stay somewhere in Ballina , as I was tired and it was very wet, I think I got the last room available, nice place, nothing flash, bed was good, a little dated but certainly had a good night sleep.

Housekeeping a bit hit and miss, check quantities of towels and such before a shower. All furnishings worn, aged and starting to fail. Beds very firm, (hard). Has microwave, toaster & sink.

• Explore800638 (2/5): Do not - wish I read previous reviews before booking - Room smelled of smoke, air conditioner smelled of smoke very unpleasant. Had to return to office to ask for room to be deodorised and wifi password as I wasn’t given this at time of booking in. Came and deodorise room and spray perfume but this only masked smell. No hot water for a shower, freezing water!!! Again back to office to check situation and was told story of hot water system not working properly however if I read previous reviews beforehand I would of seen that other guests 2-3 months prior were having cold showers. Lovely size king bed, but hard as nails and room only provides 3 pillows. No information on town in room itself. Bathroom was best smelling area of room, reasonably clean, but still found someone else’s hairs tie in shower area. Only a light curtain over the bathroom window which does make you feel a little exposed but good for trying to air out room. You could hear neighbouring guests And top floor guests moving around in their rooms.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Hot and Noisy - when we arrived all was good then the aircon stopped working, we informed owner, who got electrician to come and fix ,so we went to the beach and came back and was working again. Also no globes in bedside lamps. The next day we were told the lamps had not been working for months so they replaced with 2 new bedside lights. Next day we got up and the air con was not working again. (lucky we were leaving )we were stuck right next to the pool which was noisy as - not recommended to stay near pool.
• SanHow (2/5): Time warp !! - This motel is old and outdated. Original bathroom , no water pressure in shower and only a shower curtain. Bed was ok but pillows were bad so byo pillow. Paid $140 for one night and felt ripped off. It served a purpose but was not enjoyable. Its on a busy main road. Old box aircon that was noisy. Cold water tap in bathroom did not turn on so had to use sink in kitchen area to brush teeth. In a big tourist town like Ballina surprised to find a place like this .Only stayed here because friends were staying there and thought they had stayed there before and it was ok.

• YukariH_12 (2/5): The worst! - Horrible, horrible, house of horrors. Don't ruin your holiday by mistakingly staying in this hovel. Stained upholstery, unclean room, disgusting bathroom. It's a dump, I'll suggest to wear thongs at all times, just in case, you do not want to get an infection or a disease.

Aircon controls were slimy, fan control held together with tape. The bathroom appeared to be recently done up but you could only get hot water out of the tap in the basin. The motel was very easy walk to the shops and restaurants.

The door between the bedroom and bathroom did not close properly. The bar fridge was not plugged in when we arrived. Blackout curtains only just spanned the width of the window and so bright light from outside came in easily throb the sides. The room was clean, and parking was available directly in front of the room.

• Ruth (6/5): Average motel for the price. - The motel is in a convenient location to RSL club. Rooms are clean although quite a bit dated. We had a downstairs room and could hear those walking around above most of the time. Was what I expected for the price. Thank you.

One lady who looked after the motel on the week-end was really nice.Well why ask about our experience.

• 907glenns (6/5): Clean and Tidy - This is a typical 3 star motel. Clean, tidy and budget priced. It has all you need for an overnight stay. Close to a few restaurants and within 500m of the Ballina RSL. Even though it is on the main road traffic noise mot a problem. I would stay there again
• UnbiasedAssessment (2/5): Give it a miss. - This was the most expensive and worst hotel on our journey up and down the East coast. I can see why they took the over priced fee immediately on booking online, as I suspect many people cancel one they see the standard. The woman at check in was friendly enough but the room was well below standard. The parking system is shambolic, with our spot on opposite side of car park to our room, in front of someone else's ground floor room. The stairs and landing up to our 2nd floor unit were tired and unstable. The building and room is very dated and in need of major restoration work. The family room itself was musty and had one noisy old AC in the back bedroom to cool the whole unit. The fridge was leaking water and the connection for it and the TV set up was via a power board that sat on the floor right behind the leaking fluid. It was an obvious safety hazard. The bathroom etc was also of poor quality and cleanliness. The whole place was a big disappointment and I would never consider staying here again nor recommending it to anyone. Not happy.

• rebecca (4/5): overpriced - Staff were friendly but the room was very overpriced for its condition. Smelt like stale cigarettes and not very clean. Fine for a place to rest your head but should be much cheaper for what you get

• Jack (4/5): Convenient - There was a festival going on over the weekend that we drove through, so this hotel was one of a few that had rooms left. The hotel is in need of a lot of work, not sure what was wrong with the water pressure as there was very little for showering. Privacy was a bit of concern, there was a full length mirror on left side of entry that enabled full view of the bed even with the curtain closed.

I was supposed to have my choice of a queen or king bed. I chose a king bed but was given a double. The shower gel and lotion containers were empty.
• Melissa (10/5): Nice budget hotel that is close to Balina township - Really nice motel that's close to Balina. I found the staff very friendly and ease at checking in and out. Rooms were very clean and had all the amenities you would expect.
• Elizabeth (8/5): Last minute booking - We stumbled across this motel at the last minute when there was nothing available due to a public holiday weekend. Although very dated and in need of refurbishment, it was very clean and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff.

• Darwin athletes (6/5): Smoker's Paradise - Motel is a bit older, but has been reasonably well maintained. Service was excellent. We had a "No Smoking" room, as were all the rooms in this motel. Hence I was a bit puzzled on arrival to find that the room reeked disgustingly of cigarette smoke. Until I noticed that our two front windows had been thoughtfully left open to air the place. And the neighbours sat outside smoking. As did two units up from us. And several units downstairs. And others across the carpark. If you love smoking, then this "no smoking in your rooms" motel will be paradise for you.

• Linda (6/5): Standard, budget motel from the 70s - Made a late booking to attend New Year's Eve in Byron Bay, so very limited choice left. Chose the best of what was on offer, so wasn't expecting much. Motel is definitely tired and outdated, but was pleasantly surprised, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Ok for a night stop over, but wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. The aircon was in a strange place, so didn't get much benefit from it, and didn't feel comfortable to leave window or door open for air. Don't expect much and you'll be happy-ish like I was. Let's just say, this motel wouldn't be top of your list, but served its purpose.
• Jose (4/5): Not what expected - I thought, we'll get a room with a bath and shower in the bathroom, which is important if you travel with children and that was our booking showing . The children's room only has air conditioning and this a noisy one. Lucky for us it wasn't a hot evening but we were disturbed by the fire alarm noise a few times during the night. TV Remote control was broken, it would turn on and that's it, I had to unplug it to turn it off . The queen bed was an old one.
• 473graemen (8/5): A very comfortable motel at very reasonable rates. - We stayed here for one night when travelling north and found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean with a separate sink. The bed was comfortable. There was adequate off street parking with no road noise issues. It was just a short walk to the town centre and the R.S.L. club. We had a very pleasant night's stay and as a result we returned for two more nights stay on our way back south. Overall a very nice stay at a very reasonable rate of $85.00 per night. Renovations are underway at this motel so I would expect it to be even better in the future.

• UniqueMonique73 (6/5): Clean, but needs some coziness - We stayed here last minute as I was too tired to drive through to Brisbane. I was on my own with my 2 year old son and 13 year old daughter. Upon arrival, the staff were extremely friendly and we paid $90 for the night. I wanted breakfast the next morning in the room, but was told the chef was away and no one else to replace him. I found that a little annoying, and wondered why there wasn't someone to replace him or her. The room was tidy, the bed comfortable, but the bathroom was dated, the shower was poor in terms of the water pressure, and the room most definitely needed a rug or something other than tiles. It needed something to feel a little more cosy. Construction was going on the next morning and it was incredibly loud and took up a good portion of the carpark.I was glad we were leaving because some of the rooms appeared as thought they would've been affected by the scaffolding and noise. Lovely staff at a good price and in a great location, but we wouldn't stay here again.
