Guest Reviews
- Dean (10/5): -
- K8 K (7/5): Great location for a quick stop. - The location was lovely. The closeness to the town was great. The outlook was very pretty. And will be lovely once they finish the balcony. Bed was comfy. Bread was yummy and the water was HOT! Very easy to hear the people staying in the adjoining rooms. As a luxury accommodation it felt underwhelming. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it felt average, nothing to make it feel luxury. No special extras. It felt basic and a little dated.
Hubby found the pillows hard.
- megan (10/5): -
- Marisa (5/5): Not quite what we expected. - This is a lovely location with a well-designed set-up (although the downstairs/third ensuite is squeezed in). The proximity to shops and wineries, along with the cute farm animals in an adjacent paddock, created a special and enjoyable family atmosphere. Further, a thoughtful selection of welcome goodies was provided. It was very disappointing for our family (who used the whole of the homestead) to arrive at the property and find out that renovations were taking place. Although this only affects the outside of the property, workers arrived at 7:30am on the final two days of our stay (Monday and Tuesday), with drilling and construction noise ongoing.
We were only advised of the renovations the day before arrival via the check-in information, which limited our ability to adjust plans. This disturbance was particularly challenging as we were travelling with a baby who required daytime naps, and the noise significantly disrupted our stay. It also meant that we weren’t able to enjoy walking around the whole property due to the western side being completely sectioned off.
The photos show the extent of the renovations. The grand (outside) staircase no longer exists, and the western side of the property is a construction site. We certainly weren’t expecting this when looking at the photos on the website, the 5-star reviews, or, for the amount we paid.
We were offered a discount for a future stay by the owner when bringing this to her attention, but as we don’t reside in South Australia, it is unlikely we will return in the next few years.
- Ian (7/5): Mixed feelings - Great location and facilities but they did not tell us when booking that verandah was being rebuilt so not accessible, but that was one of two reasons for booking this place. See above. Would haven't stayed elsewhere if we knew about no balcony, which was heavily promoted as an attraction. Also oven doesn't work.
- James (8/5): Beautiful homestead for adults and older children. - Beautifully furnished. Spacious. Clean. Well appointed. Cute farm animals! Open plan bathroom area (wash basin). No privacy. BBQ was not clean and unsuitable to use. Construction works spoilt view and not indicated on advertisement. Very steep slope to navigate if walking to and from village.

- Helen (9/5): Comfortable stay in the Center of Barossa Valley. - Beautiful 3 bedroom house with generous breakfast supply ( coffee, bread, biscuits, cereals, honey…). Comfortable beds. Spacious bathroom with separate toilet and shower.
Great location!
Will come back.
- John (8/5): Overall, the accommodation was spacious and comfortable in a great location - The spaciousness and ambience of the accommodation were appreciated. The place had a great outlook and location. It will be even better once the outside renovations are complete. The temporary kitchenette in the corner of the living/dining room, while adequate, did not have a sink with plumbed water. A plastic tub was provided for washing plates and utensils with water being obtained from the bathroom. This setup, while satisfactory for short stays, could be challenging for longer stays.
- Paxton (10/5): Romantic and awesome 💜💜💜 - It was very serene and beautiful. We were very relaxed and home. Will stay again. 💜 The scenery was to die for 💜
- Alan (10/5): - The area and accommodation was perfect close to town wineries, on arrival there was a litre of milk loaf of fresh bread a variety of cereals butter and spreads all unexpected Nothing
- Peter (9/5): - Accommodation and location Sign needs to be updated- still says Lindaay House.
- Courtney (10/5): Comfortable, perfect for all seasons and a home away from home. - The place felt like home. On arrival we lounged around and enjoyed the company of the animals. The location was prime as it gave us opportunities to visit various suburbs, wineries and cafes.
The shed itself was immaculate. Our favourite feature was the outdoor shower. The weather gave a cool breeze whilst the water ran warm.
The bedding was clean and provided comfort.
Washer/dryer availability for clothes was a plus.
The hosts laid out options for breakfast and provided recommendations for food, drinks and activities close by.
This will be a recommended for family and friends wanting to visit the Barossa Valley. N/a
- Aviva (9/5): Very comfortable and warm stay in beautifully themed accommodation. - Unique blend of old and new styles. Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Some brighter lighting in the living areas and over the kitchen would have been helpful.

- Ferdows (10/5): Definitely next time I will book same place if available - Everything was excellent

- Deb (10/5): Fabulous stay - Loved this property. Extremely well appointed, warm and inviting. The spa bath was so relaxing. We had such a lovely time we extended our stay.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Felicia (10/5): Beautiful place, great location -
- SA Robins (8/5): Very nice place, historic feel. - This is a lovely place with an historic feel. Very nice for a short stay at Angaston. Location was great as we were attending a wedding at a local winery. The bed was very comfortable, and the apartment was very clean. I would have liked a pod coffee machine but apart from that I liked everything.
- Andrew (7/5): -
- Carol (10/5): Outstanding and would highly recommend to others. - I was surprised that a lovely continental breakfast was included. The spaciousness of the accommodation also took me by surprise. The outlook was lovely. We sat out on the balcony to have breakfast and watched the alpacas and llamas. The signage locate the property.
- megan (10/5): - The property location is divine, you feel like there is no other houses around you from all the rooms in the Sheep and Shiraz section. Every room is so spacious and with all the heritage detailing. There was no problem seeking a late check out.
- karnankarni (10/5): -
- Ross (8/5): A great stop over for a night in the vineyards. - Quiet oasis within walking distance of town. Loved the milk , bread and cereals provided. Comfortable bed , lovely linen. Excellent suggestions by the host for wine tasting small vineyards & lunch.
- Kerrie (8/5): Very nice and convenient to Angaston shops. Lovely views. - Lovely rooms. Thank you for the upgrade. Having to wash up without any direct access to water. Filling up water to wash the dishes was a bit awkward.
- Sharryn (10/5): Fantastic value for money!! - Beautifully appointed, appreciated the lovely bread, milk, coffee maker, spreads and breakfast, lovely comfortable beds, lovely deep bath, such a big living area, would be great for a family stay. Nothing we didn’t like but we were a bit disappointed as I thought I’d booked the shearing shed look photos ( assuming Sheep and Shiraz would be the right one - totally my fault) but a suggestion may be to clarify which “house” is which in the photo section?
Not sure how it could be done but I was so looking forward to staying there in the shearing shed. 😢.

- Tertius (10/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): Great stay - Great stay
- Simone (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, our only regret was that we were not able to stay longer. - Beautifully appointed home with a lovely outlook.
Breakfast provisions and a lovely gas fire to stay warm.
We are keen to return
- Sharon (10/5): Would love to come back and have recommended to everyone we know! - Such a beautiful place! Right in town yet felt like you were in the middle of nowhere! Such a peaceful spot, beautiful luxury accommodation with gorgeous farm pets to feed. Loved it here was the peaceful getaway I needed thankyou Nothing
- Bronwyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Kasiani (10/5): Country stay - With country hospitality to match - Very clean and well appointed....
loved the choice of future and furnishings. Was seriously all good
- Tim (8/5): Great place to stay, left early for unexpected building works, but prompt reimbursement promised - Location Great - we have stayed here before and it is very close to family who live nearby so very convenient. Unfortunately having expected a peaceful stay and a large verandah/patio from which to enjoy the view and the sunset we hit the time it was being pulled down for renovation. There was an apology at time of arrival details but no offer to otherwise compensate. Somehow my wife managed to continue remote work as had been planned but an early departure was necessary for increased inconvenience of building works. Phone contact Jared supported early departure and our requested reimbursement of 3 unused days. We were happy with this as a fair solution and will plan to return in the future. Unexpected building works that will enhance the property but compromised our enjoyment of this visit.
- Melissa (9/5): Superb - Location, cleanliness, spaciousness, breakfast
- Colin (9/5): Superb - Lovely accommodation, offered everything we needed for a short stay. Location was perfect for dinner in town, farmers markets on Saturday morning & lots of local wineries.
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Shipman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Holster69 (10/5): A beautiful setting and lovely house. - We were a group of 9. The house was so wonderful with great views and comfortable furniture and beds. It was a delightful stay A few of the balcony floor boards need to be replaced.
- Michelle (10/5): Amazing 🤩 - Beautiful location and accommodation
- Annie (8/5): Barossa Getaway - Beautiful old building on a large block with great views over Angaston & the Barossa
Huge room with separate bedroom & combined dining, lounge, kitchenette
No water to kitchen area creates a bit of an issue but ways around it.
It's basically rooms within an old house so you can hear everything from other rooms.
Some extra lighting around the place outside would help when navigating the stairs at night
We enjoyed our stay
- Catherine (1/5): Horrible - This accomodation was very disappointing, needed a good clean, bathroom was very very basic nowhere to put anything no cupboards or shelving , kitchen facilities pathetic had a plastic tub to fill with water from bathroom basin to wash dishes, very unacceptable in , would not come back and certainly not anywhere near luxury, gas fire didn’t work either
- Andrew (9/5): Comfortable spacious three day stay in the Barossa. - Quiet and spacious accommodation. Could use a table in the bathroom for toiletries.
- Alison (9/5): Superb -
- Jacque (8/5): Very good - Location was perfect for what we needed. Cleanliness needed to be a bit more thorough. Major maintenance issues need attending to ie the deck and stairs are rotting and will be dangerous.
- Amanda (10/5): Lovely place, perfect country views, clean and cozy. Loved it and will be back - What an amazing suite! We had a lovely view from our balcony, the room had everything we needed, super clean and cozy. Would highly recommend, and would stay again! Access from the front of the property would have been ideal, but it wasn’t a big deal.
- Michael (8/5): Great for a large group - Uneven stairs to enter
Poor outside lighting
Wearing decking on verandah
Very nice bedding
Plenty of crockery
All cooking facilities
- Brett (8/5): Comfortable. - Good beds. Location and views. Nice fresh bakery bread. Nowhere to hang a wet towel. Squeezy couch. Breakfast cereal offerings fairly antiquated.
- Chrissi (10/5): A lovely stay - Peaceful outlook. Grand old house in fantastic condition. Large clean rooms. Really appreciated the milk, bread and breakfast ingredients.
- Leanne (8/5): A lovely old styled homestead with beautiful views over the valley. - Beautiful location and views. Easy walk into town where you will find a few eating options. Some cute farm animals next door that we enjoyed saying hello to. Very nice continental breakfast provided which was a lovely touch.
- Heather (5/5): Passable - Breakfast poor Tv not working or though it was fixed promptly
- Glenda (10/5): Wonderful thoroughly recommend, was perfect for our group of 6 females - Privacy away from other buildings, location perfect
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - Beaufitful location, walking distance to town, quiet surroundings, lovely breakfast items and furnishings. Few spiders in the ceiling corners but this isn't a big deal.
- Jade (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (8/5): Very good - The tin building was cool and the interior decor was very nice. It was fully equipped. The drive way was under construction so it was messy. There was a lot of dust outside (but inside was great)
Location was not in center of town.
We never saw any staff.
- Paul (9/5): All good for the short time we were actually at the property. -
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Jeanette (8/5): Very good - Spacious, comfortable No kitchen sink, hard to fill jug in small bathroom sink, no bedside lamp on one side, no light to do makeup by dressing table. Very small shelf in bathroom.
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynton (9/5): Superb -
- Earl (3/5): Extremely disappointed - Views of the coutry side Very very poor directions, no sineage
Milead over the word 'Luxury'
Description was not clear and misleading
- Fuller (10/5): Refreshing and comfortable - The cleanliness and beauty. Views and country air still close to town. Sooooo quiet and beautiful.
- Alistair (10/5): Lovely property, great location. - Beautiful, rustic property with modern updates and amenities inside. Very close to Angaston so you can walk into town for breakfast or dinner and only a short drive to some quality vineyards.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Ratu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - What a lovely, unique property. A pleasure to stay.
- Alexandra (7/5): Good -
- Brady (8/5): Had a fabulous trip to the SA Barossa Valley. We really enjoyed the stay. - This place was a large place enough for 5 couples + an additional foldout. The rooms were generous, and the facilities were good. Coffee machine provided, and it was great to arrive and find milk and bread provided. We were 5 friends on a number of winery tours so it was pretty central to most things. We were also able to walk into Angaston town centre, although there is a bit of a hill on the way back. We even walked from Yalumba which was about a 40 minute walk. Loved the wild birds and views of the property. Property is starting to age in parts, with the decking probably needing repair. Everything else was great.
- Annette (9/5): Beautiful homestead. - Beautiful location and lovely vista. Within walking distance to the Main Street. Very comfortable bed. Loved that we had real milk for our coffee and breakfast. Nicer coffee would be great.
- Maree (10/5): A very enjoyable stay , wished we had more time there. - Beautiful house. Very comfortable , clean, spacious, extras like a breakfast basket was lovely.
- Paula (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (8/5): Very good - Spacious, clean, lovely surroundings and views, fireplace Hard to fill kettle from bathroom tap. Likewise bowl for washing up.
- Naomi (10/5): A fabulous place to stay and catch up with friends. Grateful that you accept single night bookings. - Spacious and well equipped. A nice touch for the continental style breakfast items for us supplied in the kitchen/dining. Clean and tidy and communication from host via booking.com was very good. Nothing to dislike - the property is in keeping with its representation of a heritage style property and the decor and furnishings reflect that.
- Broni (10/5): Exceptional - It was a stunning view, a beautiful location, and a love the wild life. Four minutes from Angaston. Nothing!!
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Yvonne (10/5): Perfectly glorious, quiet stay in the country. - This is the best BnB we have EVER, been to. We have both travelled extensively and do not know why we missed this gem. The location is perfect. Close to town but set on beautiful country grounds. Peaceful and quiet. Inside absolute perfection. Every single detail was perfectly executed. It was immaculate but warm and cosy whilst also having ample room for many a person or family member. The furniture and decoration was exact. The furniture not overly superfluous, just right. I loved the polished wooden floors and the shuttered windows. Plenty of places to sit outside and observe life at a slower pace over a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Plenty of heating and cooling. And gorgeous fireplaces. I couldn't fault this place and am feverishly looking to return. The host Jasmine was very obliging and gave us the most wonderful experience we have received to date. I hope she will have us back again soon. Thank you. Nothing!!
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Sheridan (8/5): Comfortable, lovely setting and enjoyablenjoyable - Great location and vistas. Nice furnishings and appreciated the brekkie goodies. Lovely and quiet. The floors in the living area and bathroom weren’t clean. We could see that a glass of red wine had been spilt next to the couch and clearly not cleaned. The floor in this whole area was very sticky and my husband got on his hands and knees to clean it. Rest of the apartment was clean.
- Kate (10/5): Just delightful - we will be back! Thankyou 😀 - Lovely ambience, views
Facilities clean, cosy & welcoming
Everything we needed was there
Lovely touch to have the heating already on when we arrived - very thoughtful & greatly appreciated! Signage could have been a bit clearer - we were looking for a #15 or a mention of ‘Angaston Saleyards’ at the gate but we worked it out in the end!!
- Peter (8/5): We were up graded into huge living/ bed room which was lovely but nothing like the room l booked on - Nice breakfast basket with fresh bread. Washing up disappointing having to use bathroom sink.
- Anthony (9/5): Very enjoyable - Very nice food Close to where we needed to be
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vivian (10/5): Great comfortable stay - Beautiful accommodation and grounds. Well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable stay.
- Louise (7/5): Good - The space and comfortable bed. The bathroom needs updating.
- Lisa (6/5): Pleasant - Location. No sink in kitchen area.
Noisy in morning, guests upstairs noisy from 6.30am and surrounding property drilling /grinding from 7am.
- Chailee (8/5): Very good -
- Rob (8/5): Very good -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Very relaxing - Great location, very comfortable and very clean Nothing - loved every aspect
- Scott (10/5): Really lovely plaec and town - The peace and quiet and the gas fire I would recommend somehow getting a bath in the bathroom with a few. I know my wife would have liked it.
