Guest Reviews
- Christine (9/5): Fabulous cottage for a brief stay. My third time at Amy's. Comfy. Open fire. - The ingredients for breakfast always make staying here a bonus. Just enough before setting out to the wineries for the day. Couldn't get the stove top to work, despite following instructions, so that was the only drawback.
- Trevor (8/5): Great spot, comfy and clean - Great location, everything we needed
- Lesley (7/5): Convenient and affordable cottage in a central location. - Very nice bathroom, comfortable bed and enjoyed the wood fire. Convenient location. Very basic breakfast was disappointing in a foodie area. A few maintenance issues which hadn’t been attended to.
- Nigel (8/5): -
- Yvonne (9/5): -
- Kim (9/5): - breakfast provisions exceeded our expectations.
located in walking distance to main street and wineries
- Margaret (8/5): Very pleasant 2 night stay - Breakfast was ok.
Location excellent for what we wanted to do visiting local wineries.
Very relaxing and spacious.
Useful to have clothes washing machine and line. No dishwashing machine.
- Sally (9/5): Charming cosy and relaxing - Comfortable clean easy to find
Not far from the Main Street
Great supplies for breakfast The lighting but golly that’s being picky to find something to not like
- O'DALY (8/5): A very enjoyable stay - Breakfast provided exceeded expectations. The extra personal touches were very welcoming. The location is quiet and within easy walking distance to the town and bike trail. Housekeeping could be better with the vacuuming of bedrooms.

- Nataliya (10/5): Fantastic B&B - The location was great, very comfortable house. We had everything we needed and more. The breakfast supply was extraordinary. Thank you! Nothing

- Stephen (9/5): Great spot, great breakfast and accommodated our dog very kindly. - Lovely quiet location in a scenic town in the Clare Valley. A good range of breakfast options provided. And we were able to have our little dog come with us, which was definitely a bonus. A little on the pricey side but we did book late and were able to have our dog with us.
- Sally (10/5): Fabulous stay - great value and a real home away from home - Spacious and very comfortable- great bed and bedding. Great amenities
- Wray (8/5): Lovely stay at auburn - Ps Stayed 3 nights, not 2?

- Juliana (10/5): -
- Danielle (6/5): - Great location and good sized space, nice garden and appreciate being able to have dogs inside. Yard not enclosed so dogs weren't able to run off lead outside. Water jug would be good for cold water-very hot day and breakfast was sufficient but nothing special. Couch could be replaced soon. Very hard to get out from. No remote for changing aircon settings.
- Keith (8/5): Great cottage and great location - Lovely cottage and great location and amenities were very good. Nothing
- John (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): -
- Tony (10/5): - Very well appointed unit, loved everthing about it. My only regret is I did'nt find this place sooner
- Norelle (8/5): We had a great stay and the spa bath was a lovely treat, we loved all the candles and little extras - The breakfast supplies were very generous and yummy!!
- Sandra (9/5): Hübsch und gemütlich - Sehr gemütlich und persönlich.
Es war alles vorhanden und wir können es sehr weiterempfehlen. Unkompliziertes Check-in.
- Olivia (10/5): Super cute little property nestled in the perfect location. We loved all of the little touches that created a home away -
- Denise (10/5): -

- Dianne & Garry (10/5): -
- Naomi (10/5): Second time I’ve been and will be staying there again - Lovely little touches like flowers fresh from garden. Chocolates fresh bread lovely warm fire
- Deborah (10/5): We had a very restful stay in a beautiful location. - The location is fantastic and the amenities were very good Nothing - happy with it all
- Lyn (10/5): - Location, size and amenities were very good
- Katrina (9/5): Very cosy cottage in a great location - Auburn is a beautiful town and Amy’s house is very well located. Walking distance to the Main Street, rail trail and even a winery just at the end of the street (only open weekends). Just note the eateries are hard to find in the evenings if you are staying on a Sunday/Monday night, as the pub is closed and the rest are all open during the day only. I would have liked to stay longer. The cottage was very cosy, clean and comfortable with homey touches like flowers from the garden and treats scattered about. Breakfast provisions were very generous also. I am gluten free and just label provisions if possible. Even just writing on them with a permanent marker would be a good idea. I break our in hives if I eat the wrong thing which is no way to spend a holiday.
- Fiona Norman (8/5): Fantastic location, cute cottage with Charm - There were plenty of supplies for breakfast. The location was great, bathroom large
Quiet at night for sleeping A huntsman spider ran up my arm. There were mosquitoes inside at night. I bought mosquito repellant with me.
- Kirsty (7/5): Nice & homey little cottage - The cosy fireplace. The spa bath. The breakfast goodies were lovely. Dog friendly. Lovely garden for the dog. Very comfy sofa. DVD's. Spacious. Nice bathroom. Cute cottage. It was super clean. Some of the cooking utensils were horrendous & not fit for human use. Many of the saucepans just needed to be thrown out as they were so old & worn. Some of the electrical sockets were coming out of the wall! The toaster was broken and kept getting jammed down, another fire hazard. The microwave & stovetop were quite archaic & tricky to use. The cups and plates were a bit dirty, so obviously not washed properly by the previous tenant. It would be better if the cleaner did the dishes instead I think. The bed was as hard as a rock and the blankets were thin & flimsy.
- Knight (9/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Rae (10/5): Excellent. Comfy warm. Well appointed. Delightful - Perfect. Ate in the garden. Yummy
- Underground Cook (8/5): -
- Helen (8/5): Very comfortable, clean and the staff were approachable and pleasant. - The breakfast was good - we enjoyed the eggs and bacon. There was cereal and toast.
The house was very clean and comfortable. It was also nice a warm. Close to all the shops and the pub. Very quiet. we thought we were getting a bottle of wine but that was missing.
- Bhavisha (10/5): -
- Anne (8/5): Comfortable and cosy. - Very cosy and comfortable When we arrived to check-in another couple were already in our cottage! They had access to the cottage!? After some phone calls to the owner they agreed to move to the other cottage. Not a pleasant experience.
- Freya (8/5): Peaceful, comfortable and considered cottage in the pretty town of Auburn. - Wonderful location in the town of Auburn, but away from the main road. Pretty and peaceful. Well equipped house with lots of lovely extra touches. Very thoughtful and comfortable. Healthier breakfast options would be great, such as wholegrain bread or natural yoghurt with fruit.
- Emma (7/5): Overall, was comfortable and peaceful, served the purpose but as mentioned above, not the type of property that we were - Clean and tidy, functional kitchen, heating options, peaceful location. Duplex arrangement, bathroom was a flood fest when using the shower, inadequate breakfast provisions for the 4 nights (mainly bacon), pineapple juice in fridge was a year out of date.
Firewood was not fully seasoned and difficult to burn, had to scrounge kindling from roadsides to help with this. Not sure about the $15 fee for wood, when we see pictures of a wood heater we assume firewood is included in the price like it is in similar accommodation. Also had to purchase firelighters and a log splitter to deal with the wood size. The bbq outside needs a good clean so it can be used.
The google ad for Amy’s House B&B shows a picture of a stand-alone stone cottage so not sure where that cottage actually is, not what we got and what we were expecting based on that photo. False advertising.
- Carolyn (8/5): Convenient and cosy! - Amy's House is only a short walk away from the pub, cafes and shops in Auburn. The house was well equipped and we enjoyed the slow combustion fire! Provisions supplied for breakfast were great too. Thank you :) The shower is amazing but the water goes all over the bathroom floor!
- Brookshaw (3/5): - Nothing outstanding The ants. The outside bin wasn't empty. The inside bin had no extra bags. No safe fencing for a pet friendly place. Kitchen taps very hard to use. No handrails on steps.
- Sally-ann (10/5): Beautiful cottage, we will be back - Thank you for a beautiful relaxing stay. The cottage was quiet, comfortable and perfect.
- Barb (10/5): our stay was perfect for our walk on the reisling trail as it is so close to Amys house and we had a - the breakfast provided was amazing and variety provided exceptional little welcoming touches throughout the cottage made it verry welcoming..beds were comfy and cottage immacculately clean no comment needed
- Lou-anne (7/5): Good -
- Mepstead (10/5): Great little B&B would go again but would specify no smelly flowers please. - Location great, breakfast great .
Perfect little place to stay. The flowers in every room were a lovely touch butttttt I hate Jonquils and the smell is too strong and gave me hayfever really badly .
We did put them outside but the smell lingered.
- Cindy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Naomi (7/5): Good -
- Yaara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffries (8/5): Very good -
- Dianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carly (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable, well provisioned, very well priced. Nothing!
- Holly (9/5): Comfortable, cosy stay - would stay again. - Generous breakfast provisions, lovely personal touches like chocolate kisses by bedside table, comfortable bed, small but well-equipped kitchenette. Location was nice and quiet and walking distance to main strip. The house does get very cold, particularly the bathroom. The light is a heat lamp but probably not big enough to warm room. Bedroom has electric blanket but could use a heater as well for really cold nights & mornings.
- Robb (9/5): Great location and our dog loved walking close by Would like to stay again All the extra chocolates and port a nice addi - Lovely cottage great shower comfy bed and recliners We could have used some more cooking things like knives and an oven but we managed ok
- Scott (5/5): some disappointing issues - We enjoyed some of this property's finishing touches and comfy bed and lovely bathroom. On entering we straight away noticed there was a $15 charge for firewood, which was not a good first impression. Later I found mention of this in the fine print but I had missed this when I had made the booking. When a B and B advertises a fireplace or slow combustion heater, I immediately assume there is some wood provided. There was a reverse cycle AC but it was old, dirty and noisy. Frozen bread and UHT milk were provided and in the morning we reaslised the hot plates did not work at all and we had to use the outisde BBQ which was basic, wobbly and had to be be moved and levelled by my husband. There are a lot of small sweet finishing touches like little sprigs of leaves and hershey's kisses but bigger things need to be addressed.
- Joan.perry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petra (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location. Very clean and comfortable. Would recommend to others especially if riding the rail trails No complaints
- Vicky (7/5): Great location, pet friendly, good sleeping and bathroom facilities, the rest a bit tired. - Great quiet location close to Reisling trail and shops. Comfortable beds and good bathroom facilities. Could park off the road and walk to lots of places. Good to take the dog. Everything a bit old and tired, lounge not comfortable, a bit short on cooking equipment for 4 people, breakfast a bit boring, no healthy bread or cereal. Could have done with more hooks for towels etc..
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (10/5): Cosey cottage , with great breakfast - Very comfortable, well supplied with breakfast goods. Spotlessly clean , only a 5 minute still to Auburn high street and the pub . Very quiet would highly recommend . Nothing
- Helen (10/5): Enjoyed our stay. - Clear and easy to follow instructions to self check in. The cottage was spotlessly clean, well appointed and had generous breakfast supplies. It is in a quiet neighbourhood and great location for walking to several wineries. No worrying about who gets to drive after wine tastings! Very minor: had to hunt about to find the switch for the exhaust fan, maybe a little sign.
- Denise (8/5): Very good - There appeared to be no heating which would have been handy on the last two nights. There appeared to have something that looked like heaters but did not work.
- Carol (9/5): Superb comfortable cottage - Great location in a quiet area, ample parking. Easy walk to high street. Well appointed cottage with everything you might need. Couldn’t think of anything
- David (9/5): Superb - We loved the very quiet and convenient location. The cooking and kitchen facilities are a little limited e.g. the stove and fridge are inadequate for an extended stay and there were no mixing bowls available.
However, we had a wonderful stay and would love to return. See above.
- Amanda (9/5): Very comfortable cottage in lovely surroundings - Very comfortable cottage with a lovely back yard. Well equipped. Excellent value for money
- Summers (7/5): Good - Very comfortable clean and tidy Nothing everything was great
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mckenna (9/5): Superb - We had a very comfortable stay and felt very welcomed! Great communication with host and loved the small little touches! Items for breakfast provided where very generous portions / varieties compared to other BnB's! Showers where also nice and hot, and the air conditioner was on when we got there! Found it a little tricky to find our house number due to the front sign fading, however we got there!
- Peter (9/5): Comfortable and restful - The breakfast provisions were above our edxpedtations iron and ironing board were sub-standard
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Kym (9/5): Very enjoyable and we have been there twice now - once in winter and now in summer and will be happy to go back again - Great position, close to main road and other amenities including pub , breakfast places and IGA. Very clean with lots of extras
- Virginia (8/5): Very good - Great location and lovely cottage, beautiful gardens. Plenty of breakfast items supplied including tea, coffee and milk. The only negative was it is pet friendly but not fenced, it made our stay a little hard on the dogs as they couldn't be outside off leash.
- Tour (9/5): An amazing destination in the heart of the Clare Valley... - A wonderful and beautiful accommodation. There is literally nothing I could fault!
We loved the short walk into town to the pub for a great dinner and then a relaxing spa with the candles after dinner.
The port was a night surprise I only discovered by chance walking out the door for dinner! The only "problem" we had was something I know you are aware of, but it didn't detract from the experience whatsoever.
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - well equipped kitchen, generous breakfast supplies and extras. very clean. had everythng I needed. great location. only complaint was very saggy sofa, hard to get up out of.
- Gail (8/5): Excellent -
- Emily (10/5): Spot on - It was clean and very comfortable lovely location and so many thoughtful extras that made it so convenient

- Anne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Location Nothing
- Debbie (8/5): Very good -
