Guest Reviews
- Ellis (8/5): -
- Ash (10/5): Great place for a little get away! - Great location and facilities It was perfect, just wanted to let you know one of the power points in the kitchen wasn’t working.
- Leanne (10/5): Very nice and relaxing - The tranquility and space N/A
- Sheri (8/5): Great for a short stay. Will come again - Very nice little cottage, really convenient, clean and tidy, big bathroom and comfy bed. Loved being in the bush abd seeing kangaroos hopping by. A little dated but still very comfortable
- David (10/5): - Great little cottage that was well set out. Will stay there again
- Phuong (10/5): Comfy stay in the wood - Its such a lovely place for a short getaway. It has everything you need for home away from home. Our most favorite was the fireplace, it’s giving the in-the-wood living style. Wifi works well, despite reading other people’s reviews and thinking we wouldn’t have good connection staying here. We’re very pleased with our stay Not a thing ☺️

- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janine (7/5): Good -
- Kelsey (9/5): Superb - Beautiful setting, easy to walk or bike to several wineries. We stayed mid week and had the place to ourselves! We loved everything about our stay except no coffee shops on walking distance for the morning (but not the places fault obviously!)
- Rebecca (5/5): Nice and quiet for a wedding 250m from Enzo wedding venue. Nice winery drive. - Quietness. Cleanliness and the bed The cost for a small cabin
- Angie (10/5): We had a great stay , was easy to get to good experience -
- Kylie (9/5): Was great for a weekend get away - The cabin was well equipped with everything needed. Was quiet and comfortable. Walking distance to brewery and a couple of wineries. There were a few ants outside on bbq patio but they didn’t really bother us much
- Mangan (8/5): Very good -
- Mekera (8/5): Very good - That we had our own cottage along with ample space for the kids to run around. I also liked the amenities provided and how easy it was to access them. We also enjoyed the wildlife we got to see (amphibians, birds, bugs and we saw some rabbits) The cottage is a bit on the small side but it's not a complaint. The game room was a bit dirty.
- Julien (10/5): - Great accommodation, clean, private and quiet. I would recommend.
- Eleanor (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, cottage was very well equipped, couldn’t have asked for anything more. There was nothing not to like.

- Ash (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect spot!
- Sara (10/5): - Hidden Gem!!! We absolutely loved our stay here!
The photos online do not do the place justice, the cabins are beautiful and have absolutely everything you need. The cabins are far enough apart for privacy and Jo was extremely responsive in the lead up and during our stay!
- Khulood (10/5): Very good - Everything Rooms
- Jack (10/5): Perfect location for some R&R, would recommend this accommodation and will keep in mind for the next time I travel t - Great location, very clean and quiet! Nothing :)

- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katia (8/5): - Nice semi-secluded property which had great amenities. Our cabin was well appointed with plenty of linen/ kitchen equipment/ space for our group and was very clean.
Overall condition of property was good, games room a little worn out but didn't detract from our stay.
Would recommend for families or group stays. Good location in proximity to wineries and brewery.
- Zoe (10/5): - Beautiful location! Would book again.
- Rebecca (10/5): Great for outdoor kids - Tranquil setting quite and well set up Not enough time to stay there:)
- David (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ilana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leitch (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (9/5): peaceful and clean good value for money - very clean. very private and good facilities nothing
- Sheryl (7/5): Easy, relaxing, family friendly stay in the Hunter - Because it wasn't too fancy it was easy to relax with family and friends without stressing. Also had condiments and cooking oils etc so you really only needed to bring food. Ice trays were already full and ready to go! Convenient for wedding nearby. Mozzies... Though no one's fault. Maybe some plants to discourage the mozzies.
- Jill (8/5): Very good -
- Jo (5/5): Passable -
- Brooke (8/5): Very good -
- Pia (6/5): Pleasant - Lots of bugs!
No wifi was an issue as phone reception is poor in the area.
very basic for the price paid
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Tash (6/5): it was a lovely area to stay but the cabin could use a good clean! - great location, well priced and great facilities. it really wasn’t very clean. there were cobwebs everywhere with bugs stuck in them, there was bugs on the crockery, spiderwebs next to the mirror in the bathroom the window sills were filthy and HAIR IN THE BEDSHEETS. not just one strand but a lot to the point where it looked like the sheets were just pulled up from the last travellers.
- Anonymous (10/5): we really enjoyed relaxing in the spacious cabin and outdoor areas - natural environment, wildlife, listening to the birds chirping, facilities, spacious cabin well set out, the cabin was clean and well maintained nothing we loved it . it was excellent.
- Vicky (8/5): Very good - We greatly enjoyed our stay, the location and being able to walk to the Brewery and some cellar doors was excellent. The firepit was lovely and where we spent our evenings.
- Jona (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (10/5): Peaceful - Loved the natural setting of the trees and birds. Peaceful. Handy to all wineries and the upper Hunter Valley. We will be back again
- Lee (10/5): - It was a great place to stay, very clean would stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Relaxed and Comfortable - Basic cabins but well presented inside, bed was very comfy and everything was clean and tidy. Only negative was the shower is very very small, and only minimal toiletries. BBQ facilities on site for each cabin and kitchen had everything we needed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the fresh bedding!! The cabins are also set a good distance apart
- Katie (10/5): - We needed somewhere to stay that was close to the venue for a friends wedding. The Belford cottages was the best value stay and we went in expecting fairly bare bones accommodations. We were pleasantly surprised at every turn and will definitely stay again.
We were thrilled to find that tea, coffee, sugar and milk were provided, there were plenty of clean linens and we fell in love with the natural beauty of the location. We were visited by a lace monitor, a variety of birds and other native wildlife. plenty of parking for our group.
The pool looked great but it was still a little chilly to try it out, we are planning to be back in summer to enjoy all the facilities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely setting and clean. Close proximity to all wineries and good food
- Dhirenkumar (6/5): Experience was good - It was good experience however it would be great if all furniture and equipments are new. They were quite old
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Family friendly, cosy cottages, great communal area
- Lilianne (8/5): Quiet and comfortable, but a little tired. - Wonderfully comfortable beds and nice linen and plenty of towels. Plenty of hot water, although we struggled to get the shower temperature comfortable. The kitchen could do with an extra dish or two, but had the necessary crockery and pots and a full size fridge, microwave and stove.
Loved the countryside and the absolute quiet and the kangaroos, but the whole place needs a bit of attention. The gamesroom needs a thorough clean. Having said that, none of that mattered to our 2 grandsons who had a ball there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Relaxed aussie bush setting. Very low key, basic provisions but everything we needed to make it work. Games room is a nice touch -the age & state of the equipment adds to the charm of the place.
- Mary (8/5): - Clean and tidy accommodation. Plenty of room inside the cabins. Great location in the Hunter Valley. Close to lots of local attractions and wineries. Very comfortable beds. Only issue was the water taps made noises all through the night which disturbed the person who slept on the sofa bed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quite country setting - The actual buildings, furniture etc were nothing special, but it was a family get together and the games room worked really well for us.
- Ernest (4/5): Forget it! - I received a text message about the cabin number and the code for the lockbox the morning of our trip. I missed it. The property phone number listed on Hotels.com is disconnected. As there is no onsite office, our friends - arriving first - ended up knocking on the door of a house at the back of the property to find out what cabin we were in. No answer. I finally found a mobile number through Google. Got a 'I sent a text message to this number at 8:15 today' answer. Customer service = 0!
If you rent your cabins in winter, you need to insulate them. Weather strip on the back door to keep the wind from whistling in would also be a good idea.
Overpriced, underdelivered! Never again!
- Ria (10/5): Lovely property close to wineries - We were surprised off the lovely cottages and wildlife on the property, it was very peaceful we will keep it in mind to come back another time.
- Dennis (8/5): Peace and quiet - Cottage (3) was nice and cosy, and very relaxing. Only problems in our cottage was
1) One window Had no latch or lock, in just slid open, so didn’t leave anything valuable when we were out( just in case).
2) Water pump is dying, water flow keeps alternating, got a bit annoying when having a shower.
3) The outdoor BBQ is missing a burner, so could not cook on open grill side.
Just Little fix’s, and the place would be a Gem..
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cute cottage in good location - Very cosy and lovely cottage. Close enough to vineyards and shops. We had a pleasant time with no problems.
- danuta (10/5): - cottage was spacious and comfortable. The children enjoyed the pool and table tennis. The bush setting was quiet and the beds comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had an amazing stay. It is a beautiful location and is lovely and quiet. The property manager was extremely accommodating and responded to our queries promptly. Close to wineries and Hunter Valley attractions. Would stay there again.
- Jodi (8/5): Great Location - Beautiful relaxing stay clise to all ammenities and attractions. Had a lovely family break.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfortable cabins - These were self contained cabins so there was no hotel staff or hotel facilities.
The cabins were basic but clean and beds comfortable.
The community areas being games room was unkept and swimming pool full of leaves.
We had booked for fourteen guests and had requested two king beds be made up as single beds and also the sofa bed was to be made up to accommodate two of the children. This was not done and when the management was contacted they were quite rude and told us that they did not know there was fourteen guests, although they had responded to our initial requests confirming that the beds would be set up as we had requested.
However, overall all we enjoyed the serenity of the location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Honeymoon stay - Just the perfect get away Just the perfect get away Just the perfect get away Just the perfect get away Just the perfect get away Just the perfect get away Just the pJust the perfect get away erfect get away Just the perfect get away
- Rebecca (4/5): Overpriced by comparison - Incredibly overvalued for the area. have stayed at similar properties in that area recently. I was disappointed. no privacy, pool is stingy, we were chased out by kids after 10mins anyway.
- Dave (10/5): Cabin Stay - very private, no intrusion from other cottage guests.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very quaint and lovely place to stay. Great to relax.
- Linda (8/5): Neat, private in good location. - We had to book last minute and were able to promptly get the booking organised. We enjoyed driving into wine country and being located within it. The cabins are spread out for privacy. The cabin was compact but neat and clean. Beds very comfy! Reasonably priced.
- Chris (10/5): Close to all vineyards - Comfortable and clean. Perfect for seeing the Hunter Valley
- David (8/5): - Overall it was pleasing particularly due to the location close to good attractions.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely quiet spot, lots of trees, birds and possums. Stayed for weekend will definately go there again
- Fu (10/5): Perfect for a family holiday. - Beautiful setting - in a forest. There are other cottages on the site, but we did not see anyone, it was very quiet. We enjoyed BBQ, games (got them from an activity cottage in the centre) and walking. With our children (2 and 7), we loved playing on the beach volley court and on the playground.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Belford Cottages - Nice and tidy
- Maria (10/5): Nice location for Hunter Valley Wineries - I loved the place, its quiet and the location is very convenient if you wanna visit the Hunter Valley Wineries in Pokolbin. Over all the accomodation is excellent.
- D (8/5): Good, simple, clean, comfortable accommodation. - Family of 5 (teen, tween and younger). Fun stay for all. Games room is a real bonus. Clean and comfortable, well equipped and great bush location amongst the trees.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed in lack of cleanliness - Looks good initially but many small things are what made us give 2/5.
Didn't see cabin staff at all. check in was a text with lock details.
- Eric (8/5): Well setup cottage in a quiet location - Nice big lounge in our 4 bds cottage. Full kitchen with enough cookery for our needs. Very nice experience with my friends staying there.
- Ralph (10/5): Comfortable cottages in a quiet location - We enjoyed a well maintained, fully equipped cottage. The lounge furniture, and particularly the bed, were comfortable.
The kitchen was also well equipped. The location in Hermitage Road was reasonably close to many of the wineries and vineyards,
- Josh (8/5): Cozy country getaway - Relaxing, cosy, reasonably private cabin - excellent location. Hotel staff were helpful and quick to respond. Overall great experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): This is our favourite boys accommodation - we stay regularly at the cottages for golfing weeks in the Hunter .Very relaxing after a hard day on the Course. Great accommodation for mates to get together.
- maddi (10/5): Lovely cabin surrounded by beautiful nature views - It was easy to get to and a lovely stay, we had a 4 bedroom cabin that sleeps up to 10 people we went up with 2 children and they had a blast! There were 2 seperate bathrooms which was great because no one had to wait for the bathroom. Big beautiful table for dinner and very spacious and a big wood fire BBQ that we had fun cooking on. And the price was reasonable, we can't complain :)
We had an amazing time! And the awesome owners even contacted me through out the stay to make sure we were alright and if there was anything we needed.
Thanks guys :)
- Kerrie (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful location. - We discovered we were in a stunning 4 bedroom, clean and incredibly comfortable cabin which lacked nothing. We had a beautiful deck where we could sit and eat and enjoy the scenery before going for a swim in the pool. The property is so close to the wineries, a short drive from the Hunter Valley Gardens. I cannot rate the property highly enough
- Jarvis (8/5): Great family place to stay - Great place to relax, with peaceful surroundings and a good distance from other neighbouring properties; private and safe with lots of facilities such as a pool, table tennis, volleyball, pool table, darts and bbqs at each property; kangaroos roaming and birds all around. Close to cafes and dining experiences for all ages.
- shnorks (6/5): Affordable basic family accomodation - We were a family of 5 & were able to make this booking by paying extra for the third child. However, there were only 2 single beds in the 2nd bedroom & the third child had to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. This meant that the adults were unable to stay up & watch TV in the living room once it was the children's bed time.
This was not made clear in the booking & we had assumed that there would be bunk beds in the kids room or a trundle bed. The manager did offer us a refund, but since it was the Christmas long weekend, we had no other options for available accomodation.
- Fleur (8/5): Great cottages, close to good wineries - The cottages are clean and have everything you could need to be self sufficient. Close to wineries and other activities in the Hunter.
- Steve (4/5): Overpriced - The cottage is dated however tidy.
Bed was on rollers which meant it danced around the room.
We paid $NZ$339 per night for Friday and Saturday night. $234 for Thursday. We did not value the place at anywhere near this money for a very simple 2 bed cottage.
- Jo (10/5): Close to all wineries..easy in and out road - Thank you for such a wonderful stay..the cottage no 3 was just perfect..balcony with chairs, bbq and grass for the kids to play on..
Heaps of room in the cottage for a family of 5..everything you need..nicely presented.
The kids loved the games room and swimming pool..
Lots of wildlife at front door..kangaroos and bunnies..
Will definitely stay again..Thankyou X
