Guest Reviews
- Marlene (6/5): - Very outdated and poor maintenance . Every tap had to be turned off extra tight to stop it from dripping .The grout in the shower needed fixing . The cupboards were so old that I didn’t even hang clothes in there because of the smell. The room was not clean, very thick layer of dust on the bedside shelves on the back of the tv, on table legs and ceiling fan.
You had to get up on a chair just to turn the ceiling fan on . Fly screens had large holes in them .
As for free wifi … it was only good if you were outside , inside the room it would keep disconnecting or not even connect at all.
No dinnerware other than coffee cups, one teaspoon and one saucer .
I could go on but just fair to say I won’t return.

Thanks

- Paige (6/5): - The wifi/reception was extremely slow & TV cut in & out.
- Victoria (4/5): - Too much to pay for a very basic room
- Linda (2/5): - Air conditioner in the room was noisy kept us awake all night. No plates or cutlery to have toast. Bar fridge was to close to the bed we couldn’t even open the door to put anything in yet due to being to close.
- Lucas (8/5): - Old motel. But for the price was reasonable and the staff were very accommodating.
- Andrew (8/5): - Its in a convenient location and not too expensive.
- Pratirodh (8/5): - Decent space but bathroom need good update with light on room. furniture look old .
- Lorraine (8/5): - Comfortable but old and cramped
- Tamara (8/5): - The room was available when we arrived early. Beds were comfortable. But the property was dated & tired. Cabinetry in the room was chipped, the toilet was yellowed with age, the shower caddy was rusty the curtains were mouldy. The room was twice what it should have cost for it’s condition - but it was available.
- Graeme (4/5): - Nothing old and quite run down
- Sharon (6/5): - nice clean, just a bad musky smell
- David (10/5): - Was quiet and friendly and close to local shops
- Prabesh (4/5): - Too expensive for what you get. The place needs a lot of TLC. My son got sick on the day of the trip and the management was not flexible. They could have offered for a credit if they cannot refund.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Neat, tidy, friendly. - Neat, tidy, friendly. Simple room. What we needed.
- Hillary (6/5): - Ease of checking in
- An (8/5): - convenient location and clean. Decore is pretty outdated for the price
- Omar (8/5): - Average, can’t complain.
- JI (10/5): - good location. close to beach
- Allan (6/5): - I needed to stay in the cheapest motel in the area and this was it. It was as I exppected, old and basic.
- Carol (6/5): - The property is in a great spot, close to beaches.
My room smelt of bleach which was a little unpleasant
- Carolyn (8/5): - Friendly operators. Full amenities in the room. Comfortable beds.
- Scott (10/5): - Clean older style but real value for money
- Roxane (8/5): - The price was unique for the time of week it was.& Great staff.
- Harry George (8/5): - It was cosy due to the weather being wet and windy and it suited our needs
- Claudette (4/5): Unsatisfactory - The location is great for us, been there many times in the last 15 years!!
It is very declining!! Management is getting very tired and for the price we paid probably won’t recommend it!!!
Air con didn’t work and very loud neighbours not addressed plus cleanliness to be desired!!!
- Stef (8/5): - Lovely place to stay, very central and easy to check in. Sweet staff. Definitely recommended if you are on a budget.
- Glenys (10/5): - Nice comfy bed, clean and tidy
- Treena (6/5): - Clean but while trying to find kettle etc, came across cockroaches in cupboard. Comfortable beds
- Fiona (10/5): - Nice quiet property. Good price and comfortable rooms.
- Andrew (6/5): - Well located.
Owner seemed very nice.
Noisy pipes, woke me up at 5am on the Saturday and Sunday.
No hot water for a shower on the Sunday.
- Darrel (8/5): - It’s an older property but very clean close to the beach and reasonably priced
- Louise (2/5): - Absolute dump. Dirty, decrepit, stinking, dated, putrid hotel. Do not ever stay in Room 1. This room has an overwhelming musty stench due to mould. It is a definite health hazard especially for anyone with asthma or lung issues. Bed is so uncomfortable - you can literally feel the springs ... not that you can sleep anyway due to the overpowering stench. Shower is a dribble - barely enough to get wet. Dated, falling apart cabinets are sticky and tacky. Carpet is grimey and has an iron imprint, just to add to the 'character' of the room. This despicable room came with a price tag of $178 for one night. Owner must have zero conscience. Couldn't leave quick enough. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
- Francine (6/5): - Clean and well serviced but quite dated. Adequate for our purposes.
- Verified traveler (4/5): DISSAPOINTED - It needs upgrading badly. The a/c is old, the fans inside only have 2 speeds, slow or superfast. The switch for the fan is too high, you need to stand on a chair to reach the controls. The bathroom needs to be upgraded, so old. They need proper ironing boards & irons that work. Way too expensive for the quality. Definately would NOT stay there again.
- Maryam (10/5): - Such a lovely and kind stuffs and lovely motel that you can find ever.
Everything was perfect and they cleaned and make a tidy house everyday even it wasn’t anyone in the house.
Nice and clean swimming pool we really enjoyed to swim as well.
Nice and quiet area too.
- Mark (4/5): - Sub dtandard
- Darren (8/5): - N/A
- Tony (6/5): - The property was clean and tidy but very dated and the prices they charge I expected better.
- Rowan (4/5): Not the best - The sheets were clean, but there was food on the floor of our room that was not ours. The hot water took forever to come through and the TV lost the sound if you changed he channel too much and you had to turn it off and on to get it back. The fridge was rusty & you could not fill up the kettle from the bathroom sink Paneling on cupboard is peeling and the A/C was either super warm or freezing cold.
- Trish (8/5): - Very convenient and economical overnight stay
- Robyn (4/5): - There was no hot water at all
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It's a good location, the staff are lovely and it was clean and roomy.
The place is in need of a revamp. Was expensive for what it was and no free wifi was disappointing.
- Brian (6/5): - A good place for a short stay. Excellent service, easy to communicate etc online. Arrived late and they had left my room open and key inside which was convenient. Rooms a little dated but serviceable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Attended our needs.happy face.and thanks
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - The motel is in a quiet street, room is well equiped, nice towels, beds are comfortable so a pleasant stay. The decor is older style and needs a bit of an update, but I would happily stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Corlette Palmes met my requirements and budget perfectly. No complaints.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well located near the water and a short drive to the major hub of Nelson Bay. All we needed was a bed for the night and this was perfect. The beds were warm and comfy and the rooms were equipped with fridge, microwave, tv, helpful benches and stools.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Inn was quiet, neat and clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. It is a basic motel but has everything i needed for a goodnights stay. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Overall a good experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Everything is good except poor internet
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is dated. The staff were pleasant when we checked in. We found the room quite dated with very old fixtures and fittings. The bed was well made and clean. The bed covering wasn’t up to date with today’s trends. It made the room gloomy and not very inviting. The lighting was poor. The bed wasn’t comfortable it certainly needed a new mattress. If there had been alternative accommodation I probably would stay in a better property but accommodation was limited.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location comfortable and clean bed, fridge working good. Need update, dusty floors, tap water leaking, not wifi, carpet stained
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would not recommend to stay - Great location but, the room is old and needs a renovation and bed is not comfortable at all. Could not sleep at all and mattress makes noise. Waste of money
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Rude staff, not friendly at all wanted to charge extra to walk food to my room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Wow if I paid $80.00 for the night ,which is still too much .I may say you get what you paid for . But I paid over $150.00 and was shocked. The bed was old and sagged in the middle. Everything you touched was dirty and sticky.
Place was old and tired. Ceiling fan was too scared to turn on as it may fall from the roof, it was a rusted old thing.
The aircon was taped up. Bathroom was a disaster.
Dare not use their crockery due to the state of the room.
Could hear my neighbours conversation word for word through the wall.
Never returning.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was good, not enough room for 3 guests. Fire alarm needs attention. Do not like fan on the top of the bed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Owners were lovely hotel was is a little old but clean and did the job for our one nights stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beds were comfortable. Sleeping for four. Big sized shower and toilet area. Hard to get temperature right with Fan and A/C. Either too warm or too cold but glad there were options.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Owner was very friendly. Unit was clean but dated.
No Free Wi-fi as advertised but you could pay for it.
Very noisy Air Con so didn't use but unfortunately listened to the next units all night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Booked very last minute due to being poorly organized during the summer holidays. Check in was pleasant, facilities as expected. Clean but dated and a little frayed around the edges.
Was very close to the beach and coast patch - a great surprise!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Internet no gd they need to use a smart tv they need a newer ac .
- Siobaun (10/5): - My friend & I were very happy, easy check in/out, beds were comfy, good pillows, great shower .... loved the classic beach motel feel & decor (not sterile/modern ... vintage awesome)
We’d be more then happy to book again
- Blaze (10/5): - Very accommodating, super friendly staff and great location, within walking to the beach.
- Neale (6/5): - The motel in good location 10 mins drive to Nelson Bay and 5 mins drive to shopping centre.
- John (6/5): - Outdated, rooms need to be updated, surprised to see smokers tray outside family non smoking room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Easy access to beach. Friendly, helpful staff.
