Guest Reviews
- Janelle Wilkinson (8/5): Great location, food was delicious, room was perfect for my needs, I could walk to everything. - Comfortable room that opened onto the verandah, perfect for one. good price Road noise started early morning, but you have to expect that with the location. Didn't notice it so much the second morning.
- Steven (10/5): Beautiful old Hotel. We both have great memories. - Close to the whole Sunshine Coast Wifi too slow to stream/mirror Netflix apps etc. TV’s were preset by other earlier guests which didn’t allow an option to connect ourselves.
- Kianu (9/5): Easy, Comfortable, affordable! - Great location- friendly staff and great utilities for such an old building. It was an extremely stress free and comfortable stay. N/A
- Jack (7/5): Served it's purpose. More dining options compared to Montville. - I enjoyed the location of the hotel. The history and having a bistro downstairs for dining. The room itself was very clean although I wished the towel rail did not fall off. Sharing bathrooms but that comes with the territory.
- Simone and Jonathan (8/5): -
- Tanya (10/5): -
- Maria (7/5): Convenient location amazing food in restaurant - Nice comfy bed with good linen. Food in restaurant downstairs was amazing we enjoyed meals there every evening during our stay. Would highly recommend. I had to ask to ask male employee to take my elderly friend’s luggage to our room. Thankfully all other staff throughout our stay were helpful
We had items left in our room from previous guests and had to ask for milk. We gave feedback on this before our departure
- Josephine (10/5): Cosy, friendly and very clean. Highly recommend! - It was such a warm, friendly and cosy stay. The staff were helpful and the location was perfect. Highly recommend staying at Maleny Hotel. The bathroom facilities were excellent.
- Josephine (9/5): Beautiful, historic, charming. - A beautiful classic small town hotel over a pub. Beautiful historic charm right in the centre of town. Fabulous locations. Cleanest shared bathrooms I’ve ever seen.
- Neal (9/5): A great place to stay on the Blackall Range. - Loved the location, the refurb and the service. Nothing
- Sophie (8/5): - A great spot for a short stay—perfect if you just need somewhere to crash for a night or two. The bed was very comfortable, the shared bathrooms were good, and the restaurant and bar had a lovely atmosphere. The food was also good value for the price.
- Susanna (8/5): - The staff went above and beyond and although shared bathrooms there is plenty and very short wait times if any.
- Larry (8/5): - Staff were polite and friendly. Accomidation was clean and comfortable and affordable. Some of the other people staying there were loud and costantly using bad language and nothing was done about it.
- Guest (8/5): -
- Halpin (8/5): - Location Not sure
- O'Mullane (9/5): My sister stayed here. She said she slept very well and it had everything she needed. - Friendly staff, great room and ensuite. Bonus restaurant on site.
- Greg (9/5): Over all I received value for money. - Staff was very helpful, went beyond my expectations. Breakfast wasn’t available.
- Julie Bryant (8/5): Great location, Great rooms, - Room was great, just a small bar fridge in the room would have been good. Our friend that was with us had diebetes and was not keen leaving all his medications in a communal fridge. Room was great, just a small bar fridge in the room would have been good. - Paul (8/5): Had a great stay at Maleny. Close to some wonderful scenery - Great old hotel. Excellent facilities and value for money
- Ry (6/5): -
- Grant (10/5): Very good experience - Great location, staff were helpful and excellent
- TSZ YING (8/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): -
- Lisa (6/5): Nice but noisy - Location and parking were good. Staff are very friendly. Beautiful balcony, easy access. Noise, it was much noisier than I expected even though there were warnings. It’s an old pub so very thin walls, could hear snoring, conversations, doors banging, tv, music from neighbouring rooms and downstairs very clearly. Shower leaked so bathroom floor got very wet.
- Steven (9/5): Overall very nice - The old style has character. It’s clean. Just replace the cracked tiles in the bathroom
I noticed a few pictures with no dates in the bar. Just the little things can help
- Dana (10/5): -
- Tessie (10/5): Good Maleny Option - Good size room. Clean and had everything one needs No fridge in the room, but there was a shared one in the hallway
- Darnell (7/5): -
- Trevor (10/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): - Clean, central. Walls are pretty thin so staff talking in the hallway can wake you up.
- Vanessa (9/5): - Great place to stay, especially for that price. Rooms were lovely, bathroom and shared facilities were very clean. Staff were very friendly. The microwave needs a good clean, but other than that was a great stay.
- Janelle (6/5): Enjoyed - My daughter and I were very happy with our stay at the hotel. Only one thing I didn’t like was the cigarette buts and ash on the veranda. Nothing against smokers but a clean sweep would have been nice and a wiped table See you again Verandah sweep and table wipe
- Valerie A (9/5): I love the car park - the Pub being close to the town - it works perfectly. - I have stayed here quite often after moving away from Maleny. However - because I tend to travel alone - having the single room works for me perfectly. It is so much better than a motel! Nothing
- Moreau (10/5): -
- Genee (10/5): - Eberything was very clean. Close to the shops (walking distance and all staff were helpful and lovely. there wasnt anythimg that u didnt like.
- Uwe (9/5): Stay was great. - The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well priced. The facilities are reasonably modern and very clean. There’s nothing not to like. Nothing.
- Stephen (9/5): Maleny gem - The central location, cleanliness of room and facilities, TAB on site, friendly staff and overall value for money. Nothing.
- Colleen (9/5): - Location is great. Grand old pub with great vibe.
- shaunagh (10/5): -
- Joy (8/5): Great for overnight stay - Did not have any food. Stayed for a wedding. Left by eight am. NA
- ellen tevita (10/5): Great - We didn’t have breakfast we left early It was all fine
- Riley (10/5): Wow! - Clean, clean, clean!
Awesome staff. Will stay again. That I couldn’t pin point one bad thing.
- Sarah (6/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Great, bed was comfortable and clean and we got great bang for our buck - The beds were very comfortable. You could hear the pub downstairs but the noise was nice and the music turned off around 10. Staff on shift that night were amazing. The power in our room went out at 9:30 and everyone downstairs in reception and the bar area were finishing up their shifts and going home but still stayed and helped us fix our problem. Called a few people and then we went hunting for the braker switch with one of the lovely ladies.
Cleaner lady was also lovely and very friendly and said hi to us in the morning Room smelt a bit musty (though you didn't notice after being in it a while), someone's used towel was on a hook behind the door but this is a very easy thing to miss (as a cleaner for a few months I know this very well). So other than maybe double checking the room before declaring it done, i have no further tips!
- Uwe (10/5): Enjoyable and well priced. - The rooms are very clean and tidy and the facilities were up to date and clean. The rooms are priced well for what they are. Nothing.
- Emily (9/5): - Was a great stay, staff were super nice and the family room was the perfect room for our group. Being directly on the main street made it super easy to walk up to all the shops and restaurants.
- Fiona (9/5): Attending a close friends wedding - The location was great for the purpose of our visit. Having a breakfast option and maybe some tolietries
- Maria (10/5): -
- Kristine (10/5): Excellent - Great location. Close to everything we needed. Great restaurant.
- Joseph (4/5): -
- Noel (8/5): -
- Lynne (9/5): A yearly work trip for me. Suits my needs perfectly - Simple, authentic pub accommodation. No frills but clean and comfortable. Nice deck.
Excellent pricing .
- Craig (9/5): -
- Kay (7/5): Overall it was value for money staff upon arrival was helpful and friendly - Was close to everything walking distance Distance to bathroom
- Robert (5/5): Not the best place for a good nights sleep - Great sized rooms and fun pub Rooms not dark,
And mechanical noises at night
- Valerie (9/5): It was a pleasant stay in a great little town. - Great location and nice old building with character. The bathrooms were a long way from our room and often busy whether morning or night.
- Jeraldyn (8/5): -
- Marinda (3/5): It was a fair stay. - Location was fine. The outside courtyard was good. We were 2 ladies and did not have a private bathroom in the room, after indication that we would have. Therefore is was very inconvenient and uncomfortable to walk down a hallway where men occasionally moved around when we wanted to use a shower. This was not acceptable to me. We left a day earlier.
- Dane Mulligan (10/5): Family experience - The history of the old hotel, well maintained , great meals Shared bathrooms but understandable being such an old hotel
- Stephen (8/5): We arrived late from Australia Zoo and left early following morning so had no real time at hotel. - Comfortable beds Communal wash and toilet
- Michelle (5/5): Clean but not comfortable - It was clean and central to town People on the outside balcony were playing music and talking until 1am.
The bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy
- Kerry (4/5): Although the room had everything I needed and was quite comfortable and clean, I would have loved to be warned that, eve - Bed was comfortable and the room was what I expected. I did book last minute but didn’t expect to have no windows (except one in the bathroom that doesn’t close and is open to the stairway that all guests use to access their rooms). Each guest that arrived, I got to hear the announcement on how to use their key/fob.
- Jason (10/5): Perfect - I will definitely stay here again and again. I have stayed a few times now. The bathroom and rooms are wonderful. Staff are lovely Nothing
- Jason (10/5): Great location. Great people - Everything Nothing
- Elaine (8/5): -
- Neda (8/5): Great 1 night stay. - It was easy to find. We had a quite 1 night stay at Maleny Hotel. Our room was not clean when we checked in, we understand as it was busy time. The staff gave us a $100 meal vouchers and free drinks for the mistake they made. Thank you so much Helen for the voucher. We ended up had a great meal at the night. The toilet was separated from the room.
- Craig (8/5): Comfortable , relaxing , and safe parking for the bike. - Location, cleanliness , comfortable
- Nathalie (8/5): On a aimé le séjour passé auprès de votre hôtel. - L’accueil, le service et l’emplacement Rien
- Bron (10/5): - The hotel accommodation was very comfortable and staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had dinner at the hotel, the food was sensational and well priced.
Will definitely be a return visitor.
- Angela (7/5): -
- Peter (7/5): I only needed budget basic accomodation and Maleny Hotel offers good value. If you are looking for all the mod cons and - Traditional pub with character Being an old building, the walls between rooms are not soundproof so unfortunately the sound of snoring from the guy next door disturbed my sleep
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): - Clean and comfortable rooms. Food was incredible. Staff were friendly and really helpful. Being on-site for the New Year celebrations was great (& superb band). We had a great time. Loved the balcony area and access to a fridge. Being New Year's Eve, the demand for the bathrooms was high. Our room (no 7) was right at the other end of the corridor. Lot of activity from other guests opening and closing doors all night, so I didn't sleep much. But would stay again (in room nearer to bathrooms)
- Patricia-Lyn (8/5): -
- Richard (10/5): - Staff, room and location
- Ashley (10/5): -
- Miguel (9/5): -
- Nils (10/5): Comfortable and clean - Staff were amazing and facilities so nice Nothing
- Tanya Jeffrey (8/5): -
- Katrina (10/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): Nice pub and location clean and comfortable rooms - Great pub. Rooms were clean and updated. Bed was comfortable. Good value. It’s a pub so there was some noise but nothing I couldn’t drown out with headphones. Shared facilities were clean and didn’t see anyone else I had to share with!
- Simon (10/5): -
- Helen (8/5): - Helpful friendly staff and evrrything nice and clean.
- Frost (8/5): - Close to everything, well kept old building, provided all we required for our overnight stay. Lots of towels, clean and had character Perfume smell, related to cleaning products i assume
- Kelie (9/5): This old building has been nicely renovated, is close to all we needed. - Walking distance to everything we needed, food, cafes. No complaints at all.
- Dajana (10/5): -
- Tanya Jeffrey (9/5): Lovely pub accommodation - It's a great location, nice rooms, food in restaurant is very good nice atmosphere Nothing really, just know it's shared bathrooms, but wasn't an issue there clean and convenient
- Stephen (9/5): Maleny marvel - The central location, very reasonable daily tariff, clean and fairly spacious reasonably furnished room, TAB facilities, friendly staff and overall great value for money. Nothing at all.
- King (7/5): - Simple hotel. Clean and comfy beds. No issues. Great location to the town
- Tania (8/5): - Food was delicious, staff were all very friendly and helpful the hammering in the pipes a little scary throgh the night 🤣 old building i get it !
- Jacqueline (9/5): We were surprised by the room and the beds…good night’s sleep. - It was easy to find…perhaps instructions about where reception was. All good
- david (9/5): - Very spacious room and close to Maleny town centre. was clean and staff were most helpful.
- Sandra (7/5): -
- Fordac (9/5): - The location was excellent
- leanne (10/5): Great experience - Cleanliness friendly staff and location. Left early no breakfast
- Mary-Clare (10/5): Quaint Queensland Country Hotel. Clean, quiet, comfortable, kind Staff,,good food & great value for money! - Quaint true Queensland Hotel. All good 🤗
- Naomi (10/5): - Great right in the centre, meals were large n delicious
- Nick (10/5): Amazing stay in the Platypus Suite, great location and and amazing accommodation. - We stayed at the Platypus Suite - 3 bedroom suite in Maleny House as we had a wedding at Maleny Manor, From the outside at night you might question your choice, but once inside it was amazing. Beautifully decorated and a gorgeous home. Bedrooms were big - air conditioning was great and the beds were comfortable. In the morning the view onto Obi Obi Creek was amazing too. Highly recommend staying here. The pub (Maleny Hotel) is a 30 second walk and Woolworths right next door. Check in staff were brilliant and they even kept the kitchen open in the pub so we could eat, even though we arrived late. Brilliant ! If we weren't there for an event, Aussie Zoo and the Glass House Mountains are very close, great location. Literally nothing, car parking can be a bit frantic, but it's a pub on a Friday night what do you expect ! The Saturday and Sunday parking was easy. We knew it only had one bathroom when booked it, would have been nice to have an extra toilet between so many people, but we knew what we had booked and made it work.
- Colin (10/5): -
- Candice (10/5): When there was a mistake with my booking they changed my accommodation and upgraded me to gorgeous house. 🏡 it was beaut - Very convenient location to my work the next
Day.
