Guest Reviews
- Peter (8/5): - Great kitchen and breakfast facilities. Nice decor. Really clean and well presented. Parking is a bit of a challenge but not terrible. Ground floor rooms subject to creaking floors above.
- Matthew (10/5): - Parking could be challenging, easy enough to park in 15minute bay across the road to unload baggage and then move car after if you don’t mind a little walking
- Alan (10/5): - D
- Wendy (10/5): - Property was very convenient to Fremantle Hospital. Very clean and neat. Easy access for checking in. Friendly staff. Thankyou for a great stay.
- Danny (10/5): - Very comfortable stay.
- Jessica (10/5): - Beautiful and cozy room to spend a couple of nights, I would return.
- Jillian (8/5): - The Room and Building were lovely. Historic and well appointed with modern comfort.
The bathroom did have a few long dark hairs in the bath that were a bit off putting. The drinks fridge also made a “cork popping” noise every hour.
Otherwise it was a nice stay.
- Jodie (10/5): - Small bottle of port and 2 glasses to welcome us was lovely, lovely clean room, fantastic location, nice breakfast... challenging entry though, staff responded by email to my query about parking immediately and helpfully with a gate entry code by way of Wotif... however, email from Wotif with door entry code did not have a number (just ****) and no one answered my call to mobile telephone number provided for accommodation (went straight through to message bank); when I found a landline number in the carpark for a differently named accommodation (though same location), the person who answered agreed he was with Arundel Boutique but said my Wotif door entry issue was a problem between me and Wotif... eventually he recognised I'd made a valid booking (he said by Expedia?) and texted me the door entry code using the same mobile number I'd called earlier (that went to message bank)... I'm glad we had a spare half hour during the day to deal with this and didn't arrive late at night ... ultimately helpful but what a stuff around!
- Belinda (6/5): - Beautiful older home. Not having a person on site is problematic.
With this area parking is an issue but we were fortunate to get a park onsite when I enquired.
Check in information was slow to receive through Expedia.
Our room was comfortable, with a spa and king size bed and very large tv.
Negatives-the front doors are left wide open and I had a male knocking on our door asking for check in information. I did not go out into the hallway as I had no idea who this person was.
Breakfast was nice with plenty to choose from.
- Gleniss (8/5): - No one said there was no one to greet you to check in ,also direction to the parking was terrible, but our stay was nice
- Keithley (6/5): - Parking on site was not easy, very noisy in the room as I was next to the kitchen, Breakfast only start at 8am
- Barrie (6/5): - TV did not work, bedside light did not work, four tea bags three milks and one water bottle in the room
Limited choice for self serve breakfast
Cony bed and quiet
- Lorna (10/5): - Very well planned rooms, great facilities, loved the layout and the kitchen option
- Kristy (10/5): - Excellent stay
- Edith (10/5): - Where we stayed was great.
Communication was not easy when they said you the wrong code for the room.
Otherwise it was a lovely place
- Angela (8/5): - Check in was easy. Our room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was included & there was a really good choice of fresh produce for guests to help themselves. Great location to walk into Fremantle for the markets, restaurants etc.
Only a couple of things which would have made our stay a little better, there were only 2 small towels & no hand towel for the bathroom. The bathroom could do with a towel rail.
- Sabine (8/5): - After the check in difficulty (I had not received any email with the code access to the property so I stay out for one hour trying to find anybody giving me that dam code!
There was no staff or anybody to answer my emails/texts or phone calls with the number on my reservation !
After that, the whole rest of the stay was very good
- Vito (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay .. friendly helpful staff.. rooms 5 stars ..i recommend staying at this hotel you won't be disappointed best place to stay 🙂
- Sean (10/5): - Loved it
- Pamela (8/5): - The mattress was great, it was super clean and I liked the old wooden floorboards and fireplace. The breakfast was generous and they even had soya milk! I would come back again
- Caroline (10/5): - Lovely place to stay close to bars and restaurants. Clean, neat and value for money.
- Bruce (10/5): - Nicely appointed heritage building within easy walking distance to all major hospitality and shopping precincts in Fremantle.
- Amanda (8/5): - Lovely room with small ensuite. Suitable for our needs.
- Gary (10/5): - good location fans need a clean
- Julie (8/5): - Beautiful old word charm wuth large rooms and high ceilings. Breakfast was lovely.
- Mark A (10/5): Heritage B&B in good location - Comfortable, heritage B&B in good location for Freo centre. Good value.
- Geoff (10/5): - All good. Bed a bit hard, but that’s not a show stopper.
All round good value.
- Pauline (8/5): - Great position. Easy for public transport. Good access to cafes and restaurants and for the Rottnest Island Cruises terninal.Lovely older building with period features Good self service buffet breakfast. Room was a little small but good value for money.
- Stephen (10/5): - Older Freo house , room was old worlf charm. Very good amenities. Location great , close to Freo markets . We will stay again .
- Geoffrey (8/5): - Small compact room and security good with door lock
- Hilary (8/5): - Loved the room - so beautifully done and cosy. A few more sachets of coffee and more milk would have been nice. And maybe a bit more signage? We weren’t sure of what door to use to access the building.
Other than that a lovely stay thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely friendly service, beautiful clean rooms. Lovely breakfast. Great stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 👍👍
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great value, brilliant location, outdoor area, overall impressed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was the perfect option for a last minute stay-cation to visit friends close by. Well appointed and extremely good value for money. Breakfast was an added bonus.
Would most definitely stay again and can highly recommend.
Thank you for a lovely stay, albeit short n sweet!
- Terrie (10/5): In the heart of Fremantle, but very quiet. - Fantastic hotel, service, and location. It's hard to beat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property has old world charm, and I was instantly happy with the room.
(is not a perfect cookie cutter place.)
It's in need of little touch ups here and there but nothing Too much. My room was clean and quiet, and I only wish I could have soaked in the big tub!
The bed was amazing!!
Street parking was a little bit of a squeeze, but I managed to move later in the evening. It was a stone's throw from Freo hospital.
A bottle shop directly across the road!
All in all, would I stay there again? Absolutely.!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very unique accommodation. So cosy. Nice and quiet. Amazing selection of continental breakfast. Love the complimentary glass of port in our room on arrival. Will definetely come back. 😁
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful hosts. Convenient location to Fremantle shops and market. Heart breakfast included. Old building but well appointed. Comfortable bed. Quiet neighbourhood. Good value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Gorgeous olden days room, shared balcony with comfy lounges, bottle shop across the road, comfortable bed, spa bath, just beautiful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well after slow check in (my fault) good room and facilities excellent breakfast (continental)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was spacious & clean. Very comfortable accommodation.
- Peter (10/5): A great place to stay! - I stay here every time I am in Perth. I absolutely love this place and the area. It is close to restaurants and bars. The continental breakfast is very substantial with great variety.
- Robbie (8/5): - The room was CLEAN and in lovely period furniture
Check in was easy - the contact was very accommodating
Close to hospital and the cafe strip. I walked down to find a very nice reasonably priced restaurant
The B&B part was quiet, could not hear the traffic on the main street.
The bed was extremely comfortable with high quality linen.
Only small thing which was a negative was that the room was next to the kitchen and this impacted on the peace of the room (slightly). But the continental breakfast that was available was the best I have had in Australia. The staff I saw were pleasant and friendly.
The bathroom was beautiful and CLEAN with the morning sun streaming through. Yes, clean is important to me
I would definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very cute, close to the centre of freo, great service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It has a nice relaxing feel.
Have stayed before and have booked to stay again. Thank you
- Verified traveler (8/5): - we loved the building with its high ceilings ,the room we stayed in was big enough for two people The breakfast was good with plenty of choices and the toaster worked every time
The only gripe was the breakfast room was upstairs (no lift)
and being a bit unsteady on my feet found it a bit daunting
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great position, lovely property. would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to Fremantle CBD , big rooms. Good selectuon for continental breajkfast.
- Elena (4/5): - Location good. More of a boarding house than boutique B&B. Didn’t see a staff member from arriving until departure. Very small room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean but cluttered - Our room has a window to the breakfast area.
Breakfast gets set up at 6:30am so we were wide awake with the noise of set up (inc coffee machine) at 6:30am.
Clean rooms, bed dipped in the middle, no personal contact with owner/manager as we booked online and received a text with door code. Lots of clutter, would have preferred space over the clutter.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not recommended for those with children and elderly to stay here. Can hear second floor wooden cracking sound when upstairs got people walking. Ground floor wooden floor has many holes which feel very uneasy. Bed is not comfortable.
- gao yang (8/5): good - good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Self check in via text was a breeze, fabulous location with parking, generous continental breakfast, corner spa wonderful, bed was a bit saggy/old, and room cleanliness was a bit disappointing (mainly floor).
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property itself was really lovely and I would visit again, the only issue I had was the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly and the room carpet also hadn't been vacuumed. There were hairs that didn't belong to us all over the bathroom floor and one quite obvious long dark hair on the edge of the spa bath.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great find. Rooms bigger than I thought and a lot quieter. Very pleasantly surprised. Would definitely consider staying here again
- M (8/5): - Cute, comfortable boutique near the cappuccino strip. Great location. Spa was lovely. Bed and room was comfortable. Feel sorry for anyone staying downstairs as the building is old and the floorboards are noisy. The kitchen was noisy in the morning as people wanted to laugh and talk loudly so not able to sleep in. Staircase is narrow to carry luggage up and down, but all in all a nice place to stay.
- RodrigoandDaphn (8/5): - Accommodation is close to best eating places in Fremantle, walking distance. The only problem we have is, no stuff to ask to change the busted bed side light bulb.
- Liz (10/5): Nostalgic stay. - lovely second trip to this comfortable place, everything i wanted.
The fly screen on the back door is very noisy when it slams closed, especially when people are leaving very early.
I love the convenience of the place.and the method of entry.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cleam and easy to access with large rooms and perfectly cleaned bathrooms. Plenty of space to swing a cat.
Parking space is a bit tight in a ute so parked on thebstreet overnight.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely helpful staff lovely building and close to foreshore
- Caz (10/5): - Lovely place, beautiful atmosphere. Walking distance to great restaurants, pubs and coffee shops.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well located. No staff, entry is through code pad.
Good Italian Café d Freo on Essex Dtreet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nicely situated to explore Fremantle on foot, or catch the train to Perth. Quiet street, minutes from the market and cappuccino strip. South Beach a 15 min walk away, Fishing Boat harbour restaurants also about 15 minutes' walk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place great staff and great location, easy walking distance to Freo.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Building is Old Freo charm, excellent location to restaurants, Pubs, Main Street
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet, Quaint little B&B a stone’s throw from the Night Life of Freo..
Excellent array of Breakfast foods - perfect hang over cute !! ;-)
- Philip (10/5): - Fantastic apartment with everything you need and the city centre on your doorstep
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location for a quick trip. Comfortable and cosy. Beautiful old building.
- Phillip (8/5): - We had our reservations and some difficulty accessing the room (not tech savvy) but overall our experience with regard to room readiness, hospitality of staff and the breakfast provisions was great. Agree with a previous contributor the port was a nice touch. We will be staying again if visiting Fremantle.
- Lynne (8/5): Great place to stay. - We enjoyed staying in the suite. It was spacious with everything we needed. It was pleasantly decorated. The only criticism was the bedspread which was worn and had a hole in it. However it was clean. It was situated close to the main shopping area and attractions with lots of cafes within a few minutes walk.
The cleaning lady from Portugal was really lovely and helpful.
- Mal (8/5): Option to larger hotels in central Fremantle - Comfortable and convenient to city center
Quiet location and nice breakfast included.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Good location shame the facilities were not very clean it was a bit tired looking for what we paid i would have expectect better
- Marthese (8/5): Basic but good - Clean room but bathroom was very small and a tad uncomfortable to navigate around.
Breakfast was very basic. Hotel's location was excellent.
- Ian (8/5): - Lovely boutique accommodation. Only complaint is the too narrow drive, therefor had to street park with 2hr restrictions. Also could use a waste paper bin in main room.
Great breakfast and very clean. A little tired in bathroom and wardrobe but very good value for money.
Recommend for a quiet rest in Fremantle close to most things.
- Daniel (2/5): Parking limited to 2 cars - Parking for 2 cars and they have 8 rooms.
Fast internet and comfy beds.
- Claire (10/5): - Very comfortable and well situated. Very nice breakfast included. Self check in was very convenient. We would have liked 2 comfortable chairs to relax in while having a cup of tea but the size of the room does not allow this. My husband appreciated the complimentary port!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient and easy to use
In good location for the office I had to visit
Better than staying in hotel
- Puay Sim (6/5): - Difficult to access property with access code. Door difficult to open.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Top spot in Fremantle - We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment and couldn't have been happier. Very spacious, and even has a small veranda. The locale was brilliant, 3 great cafes 2 minutes walk away for morning coffee, as well as a fruit and veg/deli. And literally across the road is a wonderful bottle shop. We felt instantly at home. Comfy beds, well fitted out kitchen and 2 big bathrooms-even a bath!
- Verified traveler (10/5): A better home, away from home! - Very cosy place to stay in a lovely area of Fremantle. Easy and stress free accesses to the room with door codes (sent to you prior to arrival), not keys used. The breakfast was appreciated and made for an easy start to our day.
- matt (8/5): Cosy - Overall a good stay. Luckily we had a parking bay, but was unsure at first. The shower was very slow. The bathroom was very cosy, but the bed, breakfast were great. For an overnight stay I would stay again. For more than 3 days, probably not.
- Janet (6/5): - very small room, water pressure in shower was terrible and it needs urgent attention. Breakfast good, and check in idea good. Close to all Fremantle activities.
- Heather (10/5): Botiuque B&B Arundel st freemantle - I thougherly enjoyed my stay could not have been better placed as I had an op at Fremantle hospital, was 5 min walk to shopping center ,wharf and staff couldn’t do enough for you
- Stephen (2/5): - Tired and dirty, greeted with cockroaches in the kitchen. Didn’t stay, went to Esplanade Hotel nearby and luckily they had a room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely clean crisp sheets, clean room no staff to be seen, nice premises limited parking spaces.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel close to centre of town - Easy to self check-in and clean and tidy rooms.
Continental brekky had a great selection and was fresh.
- LBK. (10/5): Excellent small well located boutique B&B Hotel - This small Boutique B&B hotel is close to the main Fremantle City centre and all the great cafe's and Restaurants, A very short walk to the sights and attractions and a short walk to the Fishing Boat Harbour. It is comfortable and neat and clean and provides an excellent Diverse Continental Breakfast, would readily stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): excellent proximity to the café strip. - We had the 3 bedroom apartment which was very clean and quite spacious. Excellent location
- Rod (6/5): good location. - the room we booked was a king bed with spa. Unfortunately the king bed was two singles/three quarter mattresses placed together. As my partner has spinal disabilities and myself back problems we were very disappointed at having to sleep with a virtual divide between us. Also parking was an issue with no real area for handicapped people to alight from or into our vehicle. We were rudely informed we had to move out of the undercover parking area when we were trying to get our baggage to our vehicle upon departure. The room amenities were good as was the breakfast provided.
- Stephen (10/5): Last day in Oz - Very comfortable and so easy to walk to the old fishing port and its eateries.
- Tony (8/5): Good self contained unit - Comfortable, clean and within walking distance to within city. Would stay here again if back in the area
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice BnB Close to cafes and shops. - Nice BnB Close to cafes and shops. Easy walking distance to town centre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a little difficulty in finding a door to get in mainly because the sign was hidden behind some tree branches. Also the keyless door pass didn't work the first 2 times that we tried it.
The room was small but artfully decorated with antique furniture. It had coffee and tea essentials. The bathroom fan hadn't been cleaned in awhile and had things hanging from it. It was quiet and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely older style b n b - Close to beach and cafes and shops, clean and neat, lovely breakfast, very happy, would stay there again.
- Sharyn (10/5): Gorgeous, spacious, quiet, great location - Beautiful apartment, would love to stay again some time!
- Michele (10/5): Superb location - The room was very cute. The bathroom was huge. The location was perfect. Very close to shops, pubs and the ocean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to Fremantle center - My wife and I stayed 1 night and found the room clean. A/C worked well and bed was comfortable our room, 103, was small but functional.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close to touist attractions and town - Too noisy for us no staff until later in the evening not very welcoming.
- Frequent travel (4/5): This place gives B & B's a bad name. - I booked the one Bedroom apartment, because I wanted space as we were staying 4 days. I sent them an email to ask what the arrangement for breakfast was, the reply stated that you have booked a self contained unit, you don't get breakfast. I had no use for a kitchen, didn't want one just the extra space, but I did want breakfast. I was willing to pay for breakfast so I thought I would discuss it with them when I got there. When I arrived the office was closed Friday afternoon, and to my surprise it didn't open on weekends, so there went breakfast. So we settled in, to find a very unfriendly note left on the kitchen bench stating that we are in a self catering unit so don't even try to go for breakfast. Bit rude I thought. There was notes on the towel rails as well stating if you soil the towels you will be charged extra for cleaning, and yet another in the kitchen, yes you guessed it if you don't do the dishes you will be charged extra for cleaning. I thought if they are this keen to collect extra money off me why not sell me breakfast. Then we discovered there was no toilet paper. the soap dispenser in the hand basin in the bath room didn't work. the soap dispenser in the shower ran out of soap during the first shower. Plenty of Shampoo though. I could not rate the staff I did not see any. This place would make a nice B & B if they put the B for breakfast back in.
