• Karina (10/5): - A wonderful place with a fantastic view. Kangaroos all over the place. So fun to watch them in natural surroundings. The owner came with fresh vegetables from his own garden. Very nice.
• Beverly (10/5): Wonderful Experience Just to Be There! - What a privilege it was to spend time on this beautiful property, on the green rolling hills, at the edge of the ocean, watching the constantly changing skies! There were so many animals, flocks of colorful birds, inquisitive kangaroos at all hours, wallabies, sheep, and koalas to be spotted in trees on and surrounding the property. I went for the animals, but fell in love with my comfortable little cottage, so thoughtfully furnished, comfortable touches, comfy beds, chairs, and couches, huge windows, covered porch overlooking the scenery. Loved walking to Stokes Bay, the hidden beach, just being there taking it all in. There was nothing I didn’t like.

• Gerri (10/5): Most Amazing Spot on Kangaroo Island - The kangaroos!! This is the BEST spot on the island to be around kangaroos! They were everywhere and so sweet! The owner even let me feed them! There are also koalas near the property. The beach below the cliff was beautiful and we saw a pod of dolphins playing one day. The view of the ocean from the house is wonderful. One of the local chickens even left us an egg!! lol. The stars were stunning and we even saw the Aurora Australis one night!!! We received a gift basket upon arrival with some local wine and honey, plus some chocolate. The owners left a quart of milk in the fridge and a 10L container of drinking water. There was olive oil, salt and pepper, catsup, mayo and BBQ sauce as well. The owners and their daughter were really nice. Many visitors we met on the island only saw one kangaroo, we saw dozens :) Truly the most magical stay ever! The frying pans were badly scratched and need to be replaced.

We especially liked all the wildlife right on the doorstep - helping feed the farm kangaroos each sunset was a highlight, with chickens visiting our deck every morning laying eggs. The beach is only a short stroll away with koalas nestled in the trees on the way. A relaxed stay where you really feel like you’re on holiday, we happily sat back on the deck and enjoyed the view of the bay and would have loved to stay longer.

• Alma (10/5): You have to visit this place! - These cottages on Kangaroo island are truly something special. We saw more kangaroos here than on the entire island. Sitting on the private patio when the sun set over the hills, viewing the ocean and watching the kangaroos jumping is something we will never forget. On top of this, we were really nicely taken care of by the owners. 10/10! -

Alles ist sauber und mit viel Liebe gepflegt. Besonders Paul hat unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht – herzlich, aufmerksam und absolut authentisch. Waking up with stunning water views and ending the day with kangaroos basking in golden light realigned our souls! Honestly, everything was terrific - easy, clean, fun, surrounded by wildlife. • charlotte (10/5): Det smukkeste sted på Kangaroo Island - Det lå så smukt med udsigt over havet og med kænguruer og wallabies løbende omkring en. Det var et helt fantastisk sted - roligt og smukt. Stoke Bay Beach var den bedste strand og turen gennem klippehulerne var bare med til at gøre stranden endnu mere unik med det krystal blå vand og den hvide fine sand. Stedet kan kun varmt anbefales Der var ikke noget ved stedet jeg ikke kunne lide.

• Ian (8/5): A couple great days enjoying the solitude and animal encounters. - A wonderful serene piece of isolation. The cottages sit high above Stokes Bay beach on a grazing property that has extraordinary views across the bay. They are comfortably appointed and discreetly placed. We had a couple of minor issues due to an ageing BBQ but manage in the end. The paddock in front is covered in sticky weed grass not that the sheep and kangaroos mind.
• James (10/5): The perfect base for a visit to Kangaroo island. - Waves & Wildlife is absolutely amazing if you love kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and a beautiful view. It’s wonderful to see so much wildlife right outside the cabin door. Viewing hint: we found 9 koalas in eucalyptus trees from the driveway road down to the restaurant near the beach. Just look for a grayish ball of fur up in the branches. The view of the ocean is spectacular and the path/tunnel to the beautiful beach is unique. We loved every minute here. It’s fantastic for families as well since the cabins are large with a big porch on the front and a full kitchen. The opportunity to feed a big mob of kangaroos is also very special. Kids will love it. Nothing

• elke (10/5): - Everything was present. We got wine chocolate and honey from the owner as present. The Kangaroos and scheep came every day infront of our cabine. On the last evening we feed the Kangaroos and scheeps and the owner made a camp fire and all visitors stayed and talked to each other. For the location I would have give more then 10, if that would be possible. Get petrol and food in Cape Jervis. Shops and petrol stations are far from the cabine (28 km)

• Flavia (10/5): Esperienza nella natura - Io e mio marito abbiamo alloggiato presso questa struttura per 3 notti durante il nostro viaggio di nozze. Appena arrivati siamo rimasti ammaliati dalla vista, i cottages si trovano in cima ad una collinetta, sulla quale razzolano liberi canguri e wallaby, ai piedi della collina il mare. I proprietari sono stati gentili e disponibili, ci hanno offerto vino e miele locale e hanno reso ancora più speciale il nostro arrivo. Poe ci ha fatto vivere l’esperienza al tramonto di dare da mangiare ai Canguri ed è stato fantastico, un momento che non scorderemo mai. Siamo andati via molto dispiaciuti ci sarebbe piaciuto rimanere più giorni. Consigliamo questa struttura per chi visita kangaroo nonostante sia un po’ lontana dai servizi.. qui puoi vivere una esperienza unica e autentica che è difficile trovare nei centri abitati.

• Julian (3/5): - Great location overlooking the bay with lots of friendly kangaroos and sheep The property was absolutely freezing 🥶, the owner supplied a small oil heater that did nothing to warm the property! I had to sleep fully clothed and was still uncomfortably cold all night. The shower poured out like a tap. Luckily, I'm bald, but anybody with hair would struggle washing it properly. The cook top only had 1 working hob on arrival, I managed to fix another, so 2 of the 4 hobs worked, not really my job to fix the cook top so I could cook!

Saw koala on the way to room. Feed kangaroo and sheep with bread, owner said it is not best for them🤣, may be need some guide or a bag of food from here! Would love to come here again!

• Astrid (10/5): Ultimate Australian beach & wildlife experience - Its what you expect from a real Australian beach experience and the closest we got to kangaroos & koalas in our 6 weeks in Australia. You arrive to your perfect little beach comber, with a terrace & BBQ in front, a free view to the sea and sheep & kangaroos grazing before the house. The white sandy beach is only 5 minutes walk across the property. Inside you find all comforts, that a friend would leave you in their holiday home (wine, sauces, S&P, bathrobes, …) with a hotel level cleanliness. . We loved the experience. We usually prefer 4/5 star rated hotels, and booked the cottages for the Australian experience and nature exposure. Beautiful views, white beach, great little cottage, kangaroos & sheep. Our island dream came true! Absolutely recommended!!!

• Cecilia (9/5): Superb - Beautiful view. Look over Stokes Bay from balcony. Thanks Paul and his family (including their dogs, cat and sheep) for their hospitality . With Paul’s help, we were surrounded by wild kangaroos. Whole family enjoyed the unique experience. Now they also provide wifi. Not much we don’t like. But think air con could make the property perfect. 2 out of 3 nights we stayed were around 35 degree during the day. It wasn’t too hot to sleep at night but pretty warm till late night.

• Maria (10/5): A perfect cottage overlooking the sea with lots of friendly kangaroos around - We had an amazing view. We received a lovely welcoming letter, such a rare thing these days. The cottage was very clean and had everything one needs.
• Peter (10/5): - Stokes Bay, and thus the cabins, is isolated. Situated on the cliff face, looking north, one is surrounded by silence and peace, mixed with dozens of kangaroos and even some sheep. Nearby is the only restaurant, sadly open only till 5 pm; so bring your own food or consider a drive to Kingcote (sadly with roo-danger for the nightly return. We stayed three nights to have a holiday… make daytime excursions and enjoy evenings at the cabin. Highly recommended, but not if you expect action!

The cabin we stayed in had spectacular views and an abundance of wildlife visiting us at the cabin. A great experience. Highly recommend anyone to book a few days if you want to get away, experience nature, relax and enjoy the surroundings, including a beach cove. You will get to see nature’s beauty at its best. The wildlife on your doorstep we had kangaroos, echidna sheep and a dog visit on a regular basis.Centrally located to drive to all Kangaroo Island has to offer.The serenity of the waves and wildlife was just what we wanted and it exceeded our expectation. First time to Kangaroo Island and loved every day we were there. Couldn’t recommend a better place to stay. Stokes Bay cafe was ideally located a short walk or drive and the food was exceptional. There was no complaints or nothing we didn’t like.
• Jamn_s (10/5): Awesome location, great accomodation - Awesome location and stay at these beautiful cottages, which are on a large area overlooking Stokes Bay and surrounding hills. Kangaroos and sheep grazing out the front. Great communications from the owners and finding a local bottle of wine and honey was a welcome surprise The cottage was very spacious and fully furnished with all the essential amenities including cooking. The cabins are very well spaced apart to ensure privacy. Stokes Bay Beach, recently voted one of the best beaches in Australia is a short walk away. Amazing sunset views from our balcony our very own backyard. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Kangaroo Island.

Overall, was an excellent break and we were able to wind down and relax in the welcoming environment. Hot water issue on arrival although owners were very responsive. Driveway was very rough on small car. Frustration with trying to find commercial tv channels. Suggest hanging space for wet jackets, etc and/or long hanging space.

• Michaela (10/5): Best place on KI! - This was by far the best stay of our trip to South Australia. A bit off the beaten path for KI but BEAUTIFUL VIEWS and VERY FRIENDLY owners. BOOK THIS PLACE! They are amazing and have tons of kangaroos around (and lambs at the moment as well) (which we got to feed both). Paul even got a fire going for us on our second night which was amazing

• Jane (10/5): Stunning, picturesque - The location is stunning. Stokes Bay Beach is gorgeous, as is nearby Snelling Beach. It is roughly equidistant between the East & Flinders Chase so although you need to drive each way, you can decide what to do based on the weather. Owners, Paul & Katja, are very friendly & quick to respond to any questions. Very quiet& peaceful. Lots of wildlife at your door. Kitchen hadeverything we needed. A lovely place to stay
• Kerri (10/5): the evening sunsets were spectacular. the wildlife around the site were plentiful, we would defiantl - the location was secluded but within easy driving to most tourist locations. we travel with our own supplies to accommodate our dietary needs. nothing to dislike about Waves and Wilderness.
• Blomme (10/5): So much wildlife, truly authentic stay - I absolutely loved this place. It is right above/next Stokes Beach, which was voted best beach in 2023, and has some of the best sunsets I have ever seen. When you have breakfast, kangaroos are hopping everywhere around your window (if you prefer to eat indoors). There are koalas in the trees a bit further and at dawn the wallabies come out. The owners make sure you have everything and even let us hand feed the kangaroos. I really enjoyed the silence of nature at night, this was my best sleep on my Australian travels (amazing blanket and pillow as well). Nothing

• Nick (10/5): What an excellent place this is. - We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was very comfortable, well decorated, clean and in the most amazing location. On a cliff top overlooking a most excellent beach and the sea. In fact, in our opinion, we would say that this is the best beach on the island. Sad that we couldn't stay longer. As a bonus, this area is a hangout for over 40 friendly kangaroos and a small mob of sheep. So much fun to see. Not a big deal but the driveway coming in is a bit rough and could do with a scrape and a smoothing.
• Peter (4/5): Location is great, accommodation is under three stars - Location Small , thermally inefficient, poorly constructed and poorly maintained cabin. Horrible bed and very tired bedding, bedroom too small for a large adult person to get around. Very unappealing entrance to property, harsh road conditions. Only form of cooling was ceiling fans that are noisy and creepy. Everything was dusty and lots of spiders weds .

• Marian (10/5): Glamping with Kangaroos - We’ve been traveling for many years and this has just become our #1 most memorable accommodation we’ve had. Paul and Katja are very kind and nice hosts, their two cute doggos are very sweet and the highlight is the Kangaroo “mob” that calls the surroundings their home and are always around. We loved watching them mornings and evenings in between the nature trips, they are very calming to watch grazing and hopping around. Paul and Katja even left a Kangaroo documentary DVD we could watch and learn even more about these fascinating animals. Paul enhances their diet with some barley from time to time and allows the guests to feed them. They are very gentle and curious creatures. What is more the views and sunsets are breathtaking and the location is perfect for exploring the natural wonders of the main part of the island. Take the road through Pardana which uses bitumen (kind of an asphalt). Be mindful that a lot of roads on KI are gravel roads or dirt tracks so if you are too precious about your car think twice.
• Oliver (10/5): Amazing - Incredible place, the wildlife and the scenery made this stay unforgettable. The cabins themselves were nice too, spacious and comfortable with everything you need - even a coffee machine! It was quite cold when we were staying but the heating in the cabins worked well and blankets and dressing gowns were provided which was a great touch. Nothing!

• Paulus (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay and can recommend to all generation to visit Kangaroo Island and stay over in the very comfortable cottage of Katja and Paul. They are so friendly, supporting and take the time to make sure you are feeling welcome and comfortable.
• Annette (9/5): Superb - The location was stunning. Cottages overlooking the ocean with kangaroos hopping about. The name describes it perfectly. Generous gift of wine, honey and chocolate left by Katja and Paul. Such a lovely welcoming touch. All fantastic
• Ki (10/5): Worth every penny - You get to see stunning view in front of the cottage with wallabies jumping around; very clean and spacious cottage with all kinds of kitchenware ready. The best part is the owner will feed the wallabies in the evening, guest are welcomed to feed them as well. We enjoyed the stay a lot. No restaurant or market around the vicinity.
