- Darren (10/5): - This is the standard of which ALL other Motel and Hotels should be judged by. The ease of 100 per cent digital booking and payment and later checking in is the future. Seamless and quick! The suite was the best I have stayed in and rivals even the top echelon of International Brands. Decor was excellent. Spotlessly clean, outstanding utilities. I will definitely stay here again and suggest it to everyone I know.

Be nice if there was a microwave in the room but had a fridge, kettle, toaster and some cutlery. A larger kitchen was available in the complex. No laundry in site. Pleasant surprise in that a small caravan on site opens in morning to sell coffee and pastries. Easy parking. Will stay there again.

Though there was someone around in reception if need at times. Wasn’t prepared for how noisy it would be. Could have been unlucky but it almost felt like the room was shared with next door. Second night much quieter which made a huge difference. Motel is at the top of the beach and a nice walk into town, Beach is lovely and Kingscliffe a lovely little town.

The whole makeover of the motel is fresh, fun and totally welcoming. Pool is great too. Has a coffee van at front of property that opens early ....... good coffee and fresh pastries daily. We will definitely stay here again but will make it at least two nights next time. Looking forward to enjoying the whole vibe in the near future. đź’«đź’«

- Francine (10/5): - I booked a last minute stay at the property and it was great. Being a ground floor room which I was able to park near made it a lot easier travelling solo with kids. Having the coffee van on site was really convenient too. It’s pretty far from the main Kingscliff shops and cafes but it’s still a very nice area close to the beach and very walkable. The communal kitchen was very handy. I would definitely stay here again and it’s great knowing that pooches are welcome too!

- Julia (4/5): Nice Theme, but Walls Are Too Thin - We stayed at Blue Water Motel and, given the high rates, expected a decent motel experience rather than 5-star luxury. The price seemed to reflect demand rather than quality, possibly due to nearby Mantra or Peppers on Salt Beach being booked out. The motel has a charming theme, with friendly staff and an easy check-in, even after hours. We liked the thoughtful decor touches and the big, fully opening window that created a nice bar-like vibe. The campervan serving breakfast was also a nice addition. However, our stay was marred by several issues. The mattresses were old and saggy, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. The air conditioning, placed directly above the bed, meant we either had to endure stale air or have cold air blowing on us. The worst issue was the lack of soundproofing; we could hear everything from our neighbors, from late-night TV and partying to morning chats, which meant no sleep for us. Overall, we wouldn’t stay here again, even if it means taking an Uber to a more distant hotel if the nearby Kingscliff options are fully booked.

Don’t try to use the tap in your tiny sinked bathroom! - Lovely outdoor courtyard with coffee van. The coffee is excellent. - Close to beach - Good base for exploring local attractions Tips: - Arrive during reception hours (10-5) for smooth check-in and bike access - Use SmartThings app for TV volume control if remote is finicky. We couldn’t get our volume to work with the remote. - Pool is unheated and compact - Beach can be windy; try Dreamtime Beach for shelter - just in the shadow of Fingal Heads if a NE. Minor Cons: - Self-service style limits staff interaction which can be frustrating if you are trying to figure out how to access things as it’s all via codes. - Some tech issues (TV remote) Overall, a charming stay with some quirks. Perfect for those seeking a unique coastal experience. Would definitely return, armed with insider knowledge for an even better visit.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
- RANDI (10/5): - This place was so lovely we stayed an extra night as we were not ready to leave. Love that it’s dog friendly ($50 extra and so worth it) Kids loved the pool. Beds were comfy. Beautiful beach steps away and a little further up is the off leash dog friendly beach. The free bikes they have to use were awesome to head into the main restaurant area for margaritas or a beer by the beach. Nice size in room fridge and plenty of cutlery and dishes for at home eating as well as a 24/7 shared kitchen to cook or wash up. We loved it and can’t wait to come back.

Our room was clean except for a dirty tea cup with water and teabag still in it under a clean tea cup. Maybe housekeeping should do a double check. I will definitely be staying back here as it was quiet and modern.

- Lee (10/5): Beautifully renovated and comfortable - Newly renovated rooms that are clean and comfy not far from the beach. We stayed in the family suite for one night - mum, dad and adult daughter. Main room had the queen bed, kitchenette and dining table, while the second bedroom had two single beds - with own air con. The bathroom had a big bath. The complimentary tea/coffee and toiletries were luxe. We noticed that bikes and surfboards were available. Reception was lovely, we bought two of their tote bags - they're big and sturdy. Check in was via a code and was easy and simple. Will definitely be back for a longer stay.

The communications from the admin gave a positive vibe before we had arrived. when I walked into the reception I was made at ease by the lady in charge, the room was not like the usual motel rooms that we have stayed in, in that an obvious effort had been made to be faithful to a beach vibe and retro style. The annexed communal kitchen was a pleasant surprise as was the filtered water (still and spiritic) chilled on tap. Well done you. We were a little sad that we only had one night.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Worth the stay!! - Such cute place I’d come back anytime. Only feedback would be for the reception to open prior to 10am, ie before check out to be able to make contact (Sunday morning). The cleaners were very friendly and helpful however :) We’ll be back.

- Lesley (10/5): - For our purposes, the convenience of the keyless room access/check in process was really great. Cute room, fitted out with enough to get your needs met with a little Palm Springs vibe. Would definitely recommend if you need a spot to stay in Kingscliff for a few days.

- Michael (6/5): - Room was very clean and modern. Had to turn the tv off at the power point to kill the screen saver. Couldn’t use the bathroom after a shower- the floor was wet all over. No tissues, not well set up to sit and eat a meal. Nowhere to sit other than the bed other than a hard steel chair but the room was too small for a lounge. A good place if you just wanted somewhere to crash but, at that price, not enough going for it if you want to chill with someone else

- David (8/5): - The bathroom is a shocker. As a builder for over 40 years its easy to see the tile floors are too flat and water ponds over the entire area. Either put in screens or get your tiler back to re-do the floors. Plus the people next door having a party were noisey and smoking out the front of the unit, lucky for me I have one deaf ear.
- Joy (10/5): - Great reno on the unit. All set up for a good stay. A little noisy from the traffic but didn't worry me.
- Lisa (10/5): - Interesting to have a kitchen room accessed by room 'key'. There were microwaves, cooktops, large fridge/freezer and ironing equipment. Renovated in a retro beach style. Bed comfy but a little soft for us. Traffic noise a little intrusive.

- Jim (10/5): - From the outside this looked like a standard older motel, however the rooms are quite modern and boutique feeling. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

- Briony (8/5): - Fabulous room, loved the decor. Byron bay coffee & tea wonderful. Bed was super comfortable. Loved the shampoo & conditioner. Only negative was poor tv reception at times. However outweighed by having access to Disney & Netflix.
