The room included a microwave and decently sized refrigerator with separate freezer, two sets of bowls, plates and cutlery, toaster and kettle. That was really helpful 😁 The shower is unusually large which was nice too. Nothing. It was all good.

• Ellie (8/5): I was merely passing through, and found this place to be just what I needed for one night. - The first thing I noticed once inside the room, was how white and fresh the sheets and pillowcases looked. This is something I have never experienced before. It immediately created a positive impression of a place which I was using purely as a somewhere to stay while on the way to somewhere else. I also appreciated the very functional bathroom area. It would be unfair to say there was anything I disliked. It is an honest place, not pretending to be a luxury resort. It was quiet, clean, everything I needed was there and I slept very well. There wasn’t anything to dislike.

• Robert (10/5): "We came, we saw, we slept." - Penola is a thriving village with some heritage attractions and an extraordinary restaurant (Pipers of Penola). We chose this motel for its low price so we were not expecting anything special. However, the room was top-notch, with a view of a garden and a an old stone building, and the magpies sang us awake after a very quiet night's sleep. Nothing to dislike. Clean, comfy, practical.

• Ed (8/5): No frills no hassles motel with friendly staff in wine town - Little 3 star motel with no frills, in a tiny yet destination (wine) town. Staff friendly, helped with small things I asked, parking easy enough. A place to stay with the things you need.

So helpful to have items to make breakfast with in the room. Hadn’t expected that. If I’d known, I would have requested a downstairs room rather than having to bring everything upstairs for a one night stay.

The room was comfortable and overlooks a grassy courtyard and the 19th century former hotel. Can't think of anything... the digital TV signal wasn't great but who goes to Penola to watch television?!
