• GREG (7/5): Currently off season so we felt like one of the locals. - The motel is interconnected with the hotel. The hotel had a good vib. The hotel conducts social activities for the locals. A good turnout. High raked ceilings, good for aesthetics but difficult to heat.

• Abu (4/5): Below Average - View was good. Terrace was useful to heat up the food as I took my own portable stove. Power sockets were broken. Not all the electric blankets were usable. Mattresses were old and not very comfortable. Carpet was extremely dirty. Bathroom was extremely cold in the morning especially as there was no heating in the bathroom. There was no shelf in the bathroom to place the toiletries. I think this place requires serious renovation.

Power Points were not working. TV was very small (I think 17" only) and with password locked so can't see any channels. also no microwave.

• Shadbolt (7/5): - A lovely pub in beautiful harrietville. An autumn evening in the outdoor area is a great memory. The food and the staff were great. The rooms were comfortable. The rooms are in need of renovation. Torn carpet, exposed light fixtures, torn fly screens all detract from the experience

The weather was great and we could use the p - Position, staff, access to pub, great meals and the pool table and darts added to entertainment and live music was great. Pool was quiet and a lovely space to enjoy Would have liked access to banana lounges near pool. Still hot enough. Beds a little uncomfortable. Double was a bit hard and singles sunk a bit. Doonas and room too warm. Would be good if wire door locked to let in cool air rather than having to use air con over night. A bbq or facilities to be able to cook or do laundry would be a great addition to your accomodation.

Pleasant place to have a beer after a long ride . Has a beautiful steak sandwich too. Very comfortable bed and sleep quality. Felt very safe and they also had a great pool available too. Room was very dated with peeling paint and very old bathroom . Was clean though and bed was comfy . I felt for the money paid for a one person stay with no breakfast the value was poor . Not many other option in town for a one night stay however and they allowed my car to stay an extra day .

• Gurvinder (1/5): A frustrating experience with poor service and lack of basic hospitality. - Honestly, not much. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the start. There was no lighting near the car parking area, and our room had ants. When we raised these issues, the manager was rude and unhelpful, telling us to sort things out ourselves. Despite informing her that we had kids and it was late at night, she showed no support. We had to find another property at the last minute on our own.

• Elizabeth (5/5): Frustrating. Never again. - Spacious room but desperately needs updating. The young staff were not up to scratch. The first night New Years Eve we had not booked a table and were refused food except a take away pizza . Thank goodness because there was nowhere else to eat but the pizzza was awful. The next night we asked if was necessary to book and were told no. Arrived at about 6.30 to be told if had not booked there was no way we would get food by 2 separate young female somewhat aggressive staff. My partner negotiated that. I understand that New Years Eve is phenomenally busy but it should have been handled better.

• Nyarai (4/5): A little tender loving care when it comes to cleanliness can go a long way. - It was close to mt Feathertop, the mountain we were hiking The Duna/Duve covers had stains, didn’t seem to have been washed prior the previous gets. There were dead ants beneath the sheets. There was a power outage in Harrietsville for up to 4hrs + which meant we had no access to hot water to bath or to make tea. There was no one from the motel to be of assistance by creating a temporary source for hot water for us as guests to use to make tea. I also would expect a frequently visited motel to have gas hot water supply or solar hot water supply and a backup generator for just the lights at least. I finished a 10hr hike and had to shower in cold water which was not pleasant. Also had an opportunity to dine at the restaurant, staff were kind and pleasant however the porterhouse steaks were so tough despite them being medium rare and the vegetables were not even blanched ( raw broccoli coated in the oil used to cook the steaks). A little bit of care could go a long way. But thanks for the stay as it was convenient enough for our 4am hike start.

• Robert (8/5): Basic yet comfortable - Great location for our short stay visiting friends. Our room was a family room so huge, with a good sized bathroom. The evenings were cold so we appreciated the efficient air conditioning unit and the electric blanket. All the staff, from check-in to bar, were unfailingly cheerful and welcoming. It was good to have a kettle and toaster in the room as there are few breakfast options in Harrietville. No complaints about the hotel motel. The accommodation is basic yet comfortable, and had everything we needed.

Had a number of shared drying rooms for wet ski gear. Bathroom was dated. Tiny TV. Tissue box was empty. Fridge freezer was iced up.
