Guest Reviews
- Deborah (6/5): - The host was helpful but the cabins need a little updating. The weather was too cold, which was not the fault of the property owner!
- Aine (10/5): - Loved our stay here. A perfect bookend to 7 months on the road. It was a cold couple of days and the great supply of firewood was much appreciated. Beautiful location, wildlife (Echidna outside our door) Host were full of information. We will come again🙂
- John (10/5): Amazing - This place is simply amazing…I loved every minute here and couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone looking to stay in the area. The staff were so helpful and the overall experience brilliant.
- Te (10/5): - Beauty everywhere. Quiet. Simple.
Coulf have a little more cooking utensils. Frying pan bigger no lid ....as there is no oven. Otherwise absolute lovely.
- Kim (10/5): - Great place to escape for some down time
- Natasha (8/5): - Great property, facilities and supplies were very good.
Our main issue was the bunk beds do not have much head height on the lower bunk, and we could not use the top bunks for the kids as the safety rails only just reached the top of the mattress and they would fall out if rolled in the night.
Otherwise very happy with the cabin and hosts.
- Dianne (8/5): - The views were simply beautiful. Our family was sad to leave and we're planning to return. The sunrises were just incredible while the wallabies brought much joy to our grandsons. So quiet and homely.
- Ling (8/5): - Peaceful silence, gentle birdsongs, wandering wallabies, and generous wood for warm crackling fire in the chilly evenings. Panaromic views from nearly every window.
- Ben (10/5): - Nice facilities, fire at night and a sunroom during the morning.
- Ron (10/5): - A great place to stay very quiet and relaxing.
- Nathan (10/5): - Absolutely stunning location. Cabin was immaculately clean, cosy on arrival with the fire lit. The cabin has everything you need for a relaxing peaceful weekend away. Beautiful staff and we will definitely be back for a family group long weekend. Highly recommended
- Jing (10/5): - We stayed here when we visited Jenolan Caves. The location is great. Only around 15 min drive to the top car park. I love the view from the cabin. The fire place is amazing in winter. It is very clean. I love everything about it. I will definitely recommend it. It is not expensive to book at all. If there is anything which can be improved, I would say maybe a new oven and a bigger TV.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was very clean& well kept.Staff were very friendly. The only thing missing was the unavailability of a fire pit to enjoy a night fire. The excuse was that the staff were afraid of causing a bushfire however there was little chance of that after massive rains.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful setting and tranquil location. Cabins clean and spacious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful Cabins in the lap of nature, Definitely going back in winters.
- Jillian (10/5): - We had a lovely two day stay at the Jenolan Cabins. Very relaxing and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place
- Amy (8/5): cute cabins in a picturesque setting - Cute little cabins in a picturesque setting. Perfect to commute to and from the caves & the national park when it’s re-opened after the fire damage is fixed. Recommended for families
- Matt (10/5): - Amazing views. Really nice comfy cabin.
Only negative was intermittent phone reception.
- RitaHamilton (10/5): - Location, great view.
Access to cabin from car park needs to have lighting at night. We had cabin no. 3.
- Ben (8/5): - Very helpful and friendly hosts. Great location, view and weekend escape.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was surprising in a positive way. The cabins were warm (with a fire) and comfortable. Large enough for the 6 of us. Fantastic views over the valley. The caretaker was a little abrupt in communication, but not rude in anyway. Would definitely stay here again.
- marc g. (10/5): great location, great mountains view - We are happy of our staying and it was better than the photos showed on the homeaway page. I suggest to owner to do better photo cause we thought it was not so pretty inside, but finally it was great for a family of 5 like us.
- Darren (10/5): Fantastic - It was fantastic even before we arrived the fire had been lit so our cabin was nice and warm.
We were very impressed with the service which was warm and caring and the area was just beautiful.
We will definitely be staying there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The view was breathtaking. The fire was so cosy and warm. What a great little set up. My family loved our weekend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The cabins were good. Parking wasn't very convenient.
- Seak (8/5): Peaceful get away - The cabin has amazing peaceful views, and the location was great being next to Jenolan Caves. Each day after exploring we would do a small walk at the back of the cabins, I had two children aged 5 and 8yrs, who loved picking the wild flowers and looking at the bugs. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The cabin itself is out dated and needs a bit of work in all areas, but we still had a really nice experience.
- M (8/5): - Clean and tidy.
Loved the sofa set and alarm clock.
Quiet place which can prosper with lamp lights.
Pitch dark at night.
Telstra network works in this area Only.
No wifi.
We’re told there is a free tour but paid $94 for 2 to have the 9.30am tour.
Thé road is very very steep. Be prepared for a slow drive up.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful country setting - log fired wooden cabin. Animals aplenty. Really relaxing and enjoyable break.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Weekend getaway - We stayed for a weekend during the school holidays last week. We received a very warm welcome by Robyn when we check-in. Check-in process was quick and easy. The mountain view was beautiful and the cabin is exceptionally clean. The weather was wet and foggy. All amenties are in good working conditions, shower was new and hot water works perfectly. There were bed linens and towels provided free of charge (and very clean). My kids loved the bunk beds in their room. It was so nice and comfortable sitting in the living room with the fireplace and resting on the couch after the caves tours (thanks to Robyn for preparing the fireplace and warmed up the cabin before we arrived). Like the previous review, remember to bring the gloves for carrying the logs to the cabin for the 2nd night. It can be fairly cold at night, it was down to 7 degree celcius and I had to wear a big jacket to sleep in (should have brought a sleeping bag). We only saw a few birds including Kookaburra and no other animals due to the wet weather. Telstra signal was bad.
I would recommend to bring your own food to cook instead of trying to dine-out as the Jenolan Cave restaurant will not make 6pm reservations for non-guests and earliest booking is 7.30pm. After a day of Caves tour, I preferred to have dinner at the cabin. I would definitely come back in a warmer season/ in winter to see the snow and see the starry sky. I love the quiet and peaceful atmosphere here.
- Jonathan (10/5): Wonderful family getaway - We booked for a few days away and couldn't have been happier. The cabins were comfy, the fireplace was lovely (and well stocked) and although there were other cabins around we still had plenty of space. Our 4yo was living her best life, as there was plenty to keep her occupied. She even saw a snowfall. The barbecue area was a nice bonus. The cabins were close enough to civilisation that if you really had to you could go in to town, but far enough away that you could properly relax and be fully self-contained. We are coming back, except instead of 3 of us we will be bringing the extended family!
- Yvonne (8/5): Nice and close to the caves - Lovely couple of nights stay which was nice and cosy. Very clean but beds need updating as the mattress was pretty hard; but I've a bad back so I'm extra fussy.
Otherwise it's a great cabin for a large family, mum, dad and 4 kids can fit with plenty of room inside for everyone. Kitchen has everything you need too. Location is perfect with lovely views over the valley and the caves just down the hill.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to Jenolan Caves with all necessary amenities. Lovely location and views.
- Abbas (10/5): Fantastic views. Cosy place. Very friendly staff. - Fantastic views and a short drive away from the caves. The lady who was at the reception was very warm and welcoming. The cabins were nice and cosy with a nice fireplace.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great stay perfect location for a visit to the caves
- Alan (10/5): Weekend escape - 3 day long weekend - first night just the two of us, the second night the 3 kids came up. If you are looking for a place that combines the benefits of camping with those of staying in a self-catering, more comfortable style of accommodation then this is it. We chose this place because of its location - somewhat remote, but still within reach of major attractions (Mayfield Gardens, Jenolan Caves and Kanangra Walls). It didn't disappoint. The cabins are at an altitude of about 1300m above sea level, so the hot humid weather of Sydney (2 hours away) was not a factor. One of our best weekend getaways, for sure we'll be coming back. It can be either a romantic weekend away or equally good for a family.
- Martin (8/5): Close to great hiking and breath taking walks! - We went walking at Kanangra Walls Park - Lookout Walk, Waterfall Walk and the spectacular Plateau Walk! Breath taking experience!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great distance to the caves - A simple yet spacious accommodation very close to the caves. You will need to bring everything with you as nothing except dishwashing liquid supplied. I would have liked to see tea and coffee, or some milk in the fridge for the price. No linen supplied either which makes you wonder what you’ve paid for.
We did enjoy the beautiful fire and the spectacular views and quiet surrounds.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Relaxing natural beauty - We stayed 2 nights during the summer. The view from our cabin was delightful - watching the clouds develop, and the mists roll in and leave was very relaxing. Wild life came close to the cabin - they didn't seem to notice us inside. The bedding and lounges were comfortable. Everything we needed was there, and of good quality. I would highly recommend this accommodation.
- Jordan (8/5): Tranquil getaway - Exceded expectations! It was so lovely to curl up by a fireplace in the middle of green valleys surrounded by nothing but birdsong. Just make sure you bring everything you need, not only because you won't want to leave, but also because it's a long way to a shop!
- michael (10/5): - great view ,great log fire .very cosy, we had a really good week end
- Martin (8/5): Beautiful landscape - Out of the way stay, but a fair travel if you want to eat out. Very comfortable and cosy with a wood heater but a good treck to get wood.
- Fiona (10/5): Beautiful place for a long weekend escape - We went looking for accommodation close to Jenolan Caves without having to stay at Caves House and found Jenolan cabins. Situated a 10 minute drive the cabins have stunning easterly views back to the blue mountains and were perfect for a long weekend escape. Am definitely planning on staying here again as it's a comfortable drive from Sydney and perfect for a weekend escape.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely, peaceful stay. Room was cost and comfortable!
- Linda (10/5): Fantastic location with amazing views - Close to Jenolan and beautiful Kanangra Walls, in a superb setting; and cosy and warm inside from slow combustion log fire. Perfect for family escape.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic location and views! Cosy interior with comfortable bedding
- David (8/5): Handy location - Good facilities in pleasant rural surroundings close to the caves
- Verified traveler (10/5): Jenolan cabins - Great stay will return very relaxing place.close to caves.all good
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cosy cottage with fabulous view - Thoroughly enjoyed our family get together in the cosy Jenolan Cabin. Everything we needed was provided and we had been well advised what to provide ourselves. It was also the perfect location for visiting Jenolan caves and Kanangra National park.
- Family Guy (10/5): Close to nature - Great location for visiting Jenolan, the cabins have a wonderful wood combustion heater. Owners were kind and full of information regarding the caves. I would stay here again, thanks Jenolan Cabins.
- Peter (8/5): Beautiful countryside & good proximity to caves. - Cosy room with lovely wood heater. Mattress was a bit ordinary. Very dated interior but that didn't bother us. Owners were pleasant but not super friendly. With some enthusiasm and a refurb this place could be awesome.
