Guest Reviews
- Sandra (9/5): -
- Shannon (9/5): A fantastic place to stay, friendly staff and accomodation at a great price! - Hot pool was superb and the rooms were perfect Nothing
- Dianne (9/5): -
- Charles (7/5): Great for hot mineral pools - Hot mineral pools
No dogs on site during our stay Fridge freezer compartment door was broken and the excessive ice build-up prevented the door from shutting.
Single glazing made the windows drip with condensation.
Radiator was not fixed securely to the wall - shoddy plumbing made the place look amateurish.
Chair covers were a bit dirty, showing slight lack of concern for detail.
- Larap007 (5/5): - Mineral pools were lovely. Need a light on walk to toilets/showers.
- Loretta (10/5): - Hosts were beautiful and friendly 😍 💕 best us time we had spent for awhile so thank you sooo very much. Will definitely be visiting again for longer stay We only had one night there.
- Adam (3/5): -
- Leanne (3/5): For cheap overnight stay with use of pool it's ok if you don't need to cook. - Had a night time dip in the public hot pool. Was nice and hot water clean and relaxing. Tiki torches shone outside. Nice ambience. Staff were accomodating Kitchen had large pheasants walking around inside and very unhygienic. Upgraded the room to one with kitchenette. Had all the basics but very old interior with patchy paint job.
- Kollhoff22 (10/5): -
- Wee Kiat Nicholas (6/5): Ok for a one night stay but noise is an issue. - Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is more spacious than i anticipated, especially the pantry area. The air conditioning works really well too. Bathroom is small, especially the wash basin area. The shower water pressure can be weak at times and the temperature fluctuates a lot.
The walls of the room are quite thin as well. We were woken up early in the morning due to our neighours getting ready and the loud din they were making (a lot of laughing, talking and slamming of room and car doors).
The wifi in the rooms is very weak as well, doesnt help that our mobile data did not really work in this area as well.
- Whanau Tipi Haere (7/5): - Location was great and the hot pools. Owner was super friendly. Would have liked coffee making facilitates in the room
- Huiarau (4/5): - Hot pools The room wasn’t cleaned properly we checked in the shower had clumps of hair. Towels were provided each day but old towels were left. There were cobwebs and the showers ran cold. There was only 3 of us staying in a family sized room
- Brar (3/5): -
- Deanna (9/5): - Loved the thermal spas and animals for kids to see awsome stay Spas and animals
- Joan (10/5): - Staff amazing
Unit clean warm and comfortable 👌
- Georgia (9/5): Welcoming, friendly, warm. Will always resort here when passing through. - The owners are wonderful, friendly staff, environment is great, rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. Always nice staying here.
- Sue (8/5): Convenient and suitable for our needs enjoyed the hot pools - Very handy we were only in a cabin and did not spend a lot of time actually at the camp site
- Brown (1/5): - Nothing Most things
- Kate (9/5): - Just passing through for one night and the accommodation was comfortable, comfortable bed and what a treat soaking in a geothermal pool on site before heading away in the morning.
- Maxwell (1/5): I would not take my farm dog to Oasis to stay, as I have more respect for her ! - Nothing to like, the whole complex was abominable !
I believed I had booked a motel but it turned out to a n old cabin previously used for Emergency Housing ! Big hole in footpath between room and bathroom, partially covered by chequer platre. Great hole in shower wall! Zero tea facilties in room.. No wash basin or water in room. Peacocks wandering into the communal kitchen, defecating on the kitchen floor ! Pool was empty, filling slowly but looked grossly dirty. Broken down vehicle in full view in a dilapidated state.
In short, AVOID AT ALL COST !!!!!

- Yvonne (10/5): - Receptionist was lovely and made us feel right at home. We accidentally locked ourselves out of our room, this was our fault and it was after hours, we were assisted with a spare key to get access 😂
- Becs (9/5): - Great place to stay.
Love the mineral pools.
My new favourite place to stay
- Idalid (7/5): -
- Simon (7/5): Comfortable two night stay - Room was spacious, comfortable and well set out. A number of hot pools available. Generally clean and tidy but could do with renovating.
- Steven (10/5): -
- Edward (5/5): So dissapointing - Convenient for traveling down North Island. The receptionist was very friendly. The hot spas were awful - no way we were going into those and I was looking forward to it. The bed had a spring sticking up and we had to cover it with the duvet to sleep. The TV shelf stuck out dangerously. The shower simply ran cold apart from about 20 seconds of warm water
- Kerry (10/5): -
- Jun-san (6/5): A motel for campers - As it’s close to Tongariro National Park, I think this motel is very convenient for those taking part in the trek tomorrow morning. I found that shower a bit awkward to use.
Also, the car park in front of the motel was a bit tight, and I thought it would be difficult to park if all the rooms were fully booked.
- Rickie Lee (6/5): -
- Pairama (8/5): - Was different than motels Outside toilet
- Paul (8/5): -
- Denise (4/5): - Location only Room was not clean, communal toilets and showers were dirty.
- Duncan (2/5): - Wifi Dirty shower, cheap fixtures - bucket for a bin, standard lamp (lamp shade) for the ceiling light, a dribble of hot water, no smoke alarms. Generally shabby. Paid for two nights but stayed for one as we were dismayed.
- Liz (8/5): Very pleasant and the hot pools is just what my son and myself needed - The manager made us very welcome and gave us the option to up grade which was nice. Nothing
- Barbora (8/5): -
- Bertrand (6/5): -
- Pia (5/5): - A good location for travellers We got upgraded when we found little curly hairs in the bed but although a good size room with bathroom and kitchen facilities, it was not clean.
- Tania (8/5): -
- PJ (10/5): - Location and amenities
- Sheryl (6/5): Okay - The fish in the creek nibbling at the feet The pool didn’t look clean
- Jack (7/5): Excellent stop off place, lovely pool and hotspring factilities free -
- Younghart (7/5): Awesome for Well-being. - Love that the pools were 24/7 could come back late and just jump into the spa/or pools at anytime. I loved that it was quiet and friendly. We stayed in the family room. Room9 3singles and double. Loved that the room had a big fridge and big tv. Good for whanau. The property is a bit tired and could do with some TLC. Beds have been overused newer beds in room could make it more comfortable. Bathroom in family rooms could be bigger. Shower in room pressure can be quiet low.
- Jemima (10/5): -
- Růžena (9/5): - Jednoduche,ale naprosto dostacujici na 1 noc.
- Kyle (10/5): -
- Ryder (7/5): -
- Michelle Paaka (10/5): -
- Lori (9/5): - Always love these facilities, owners are wonderful, pools are just fantastic. The bed was pretty hard
- Tyacke (10/5): Absolutely amazing - I absolutely loved our stay there , staff made me and my family feel like we were on holiday at home . So so comfortable and everyone was friendly and very helpful . I am planning on coming to stay again end of the year .
If I could I would love there 😅😊 Just needs abit of a upgrade around the place but besides that very very happy .
- Robert (9/5): - Nice motel, spacious baths onsite which along with the facilities and rooms could do with updating. Staff were super friendly Needs a bit of an upgrade.
- Valerie (9/5): It was an enjoyable stay. - It was just as the photos showed. The private mineral pools.
- Puckett (10/5): Convenient stop - The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful The whole place is very tired. Spotlessly clean but needs an upgrade
- Suzanna (5/5): - Vriendelijke eigenaar.
Slechtste bed tijdens onze 7 weken in Nieuw Zeeland.
- Anne (3/5): Once there is enough - Mist things in the kitchen need to be replaced
- Janine (9/5): enjoyed my stay at Oasis i would definitely stay again - enjoyed the peace and quiet, listening to the birds. i enjoyed the privacy, the thermal private pools being open 24/7 they were awesome, the room was comfortable had everything we needed and it was warm.
- sheryl (6/5): was ideal for the short stay - mineral pools, it was confy for the short stay we had, friendly staff shared toilets
- KENT (9/5): Location and service was great - Pools a bit hot and needed clean
- Lucas (5/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): Clean, friendly and warm -
- Stephen (7/5): Clean room, friendly staff - Clean room, friendly staff All good
- ANNE (5/5): You pay for what you get. Lovely staff but accommodation needs some TLC - Convenient place to stay on my journey and reasonably priced All a bit rundown. Flanelette sheet on the bed. Bedding needs upgrading
- Paul (10/5): - Is the best Nothing
- Paul (8/5): Good clean room with kitchenette - Very friendly and welcoming host. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Hot pools were tired and in need of some attention
- Richard (7/5): Campsite with rooms - It is more a campground with chalets than a motel, but it had a good shower block and the chalet room had electricity and a television. Walls very thin and could hear the person next door snoring, and I'm sure they could hear me. It mafe it quite difficulr to get to sleep.
- Hemi (8/5): Enjoyed my stay. - Nice and clean. Awesome hot pool options, 24hr.
- Stephen (9/5): -
- Robert (5/5): - Hot pool was ok Its old and tired. I see it is up for sale. Let's hope that someone buys it who can turn it into a great experience
- Philippe (10/5): Great location and nice thermal pools! - We had a great time and enjoyed the thermal pools. The motel is close to Tongariro National Park, so it was very convenient to go on a hike there.
- Claire (9/5): -
- Alli Porteous (7/5): -
- Kathryn (7/5): Loved the people and the hot pools! Beautiful place. Fine for crashing the night on the way south. - Thermal pool. Animals. No cutlery or crockery + kitchen facilities a bit tired.
- Qu (10/5): -
- Angela (9/5): Would have stayed another night if we didn’t catch up with whanau :) - The double bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. Place was clean, tidy & had everything we needed which was perfect for our large family for 1 night. Staff were polite, kitchen had everything we needed & the drive kept our drinks cool & aircon saved us from the heat! No complaints here :)
- Lisa (5/5): This property would be fine for anyone who doesn't require quiet. - Unfortunately it was extremely noisy. There were fresh coffee rings all over the table that hadn't been cleaned and there was no toilet paper in the ladies toilet.
- Lynette (8/5): - Helpful front desk person, all basic requirements provided.
The motel was not trying to be something it was. Good positive basic accommodation. Nothing.
- Paterson (6/5): -
- Terere (10/5): Awesom time - Clean comfortable close to everything pools were awesom
Owner was cool
- Sean (10/5): Wonderful -
- Kare (7/5): - Pools
- Rosalie (6/5): - No hot water in sink. Missing kitchen
knife
- Channa (10/5): Great location and friend owners - The room and the facilities were as described. We had a wonderful stay. The owners were friendly and we were lucky enough to see the resident cat Ricky Baker.

Vriendelijk achter de balie
Efficient
Schone lakens Bedden wat hard misschien
- Carroll (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay so much. So relaxed an laid back, staff are friendly as, our rooms were perfect. Would of liked a hotter pool
- Margo (9/5): Nostalgic Kiwiana Kampsite - This is like stepping back in time to a Real Kiwi Kamping. It’s exceptional value for money and so relaxing.
We loved the five mineral hot pools to enjoy. We never had to wait to use the three private pools. Having a dip in the morning and before bed certainly helped us relax, and this alone paid for the price of our two night stay.
The manager and staff are so welcoming. They really made us feel at home and welcome.
The location - quiet and serene. Out of the hustle and bustle of town, but only a very short drive away. Also very close to Lake Rotopounamu which was an extremely spiritual and soul filling walk.
The peacocks and others in the animal paddock were a delightful addition.
The people we met were from all over the world and we had some great chats. Some guests were smoking outdoors which they are not requested not to do. But this is a minor issue and not within management’s control.
- Michael (8/5): Nice place that could be great with a little work - Walking distance to restaurants and thermal Hot Springs. Also had a small geothermal pool. The room entrance was a sliding door and you always had to close a curtain there so nobody could look in (privacy issue). The Jacuzzi was just lukewarm the whole time, even though I’d made mention of it
- Anuruddha (6/5): Friendly and Knowledgeable Staff, and - Really Friendly and awesome Staff.
Staff was very knowledgeable of the local area.
Close to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing Carpark.
Natural Hotpools.
For a Camping Ground the facilities were good. Rooms blankets could have been cleaner.
And the walls are very thin, can be an issue if the hotel is booked out.
