• Karen (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and would book again. - The cabin was as expected for a small 1 x bedroom cabin. It had all that we needed and the view was amazing. The room was a bit hard to get to with bags but the host helped us take to luggage inside so it was ok. He was very helpful and assisted with the bags both for the arrival and departure. The path to the room was a bit tricky for one of our guests with a wheelie walker but she did go ok. Maybe let people know beforehand that the pathway is not concrete.

• mutsumi (6/5): Chilling out with river view! - River view was great! Good for long staying with kitchen. It was a bit noisy the room is close to the main road as host informed. BBQ didn't heat properly so we had to use kitchen stove instead of it.

• Trevor (10/5): Three nights in a very comfortable cabin with an incredible view of the Port of Huon. - Spectacular view. The cottages are all modern, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. I liked that they had a couch in side and a BBQ on the deck. The manager was extremely helpfull. I ended up booking an extra night as I was enjoying myself. Cannot think of anything.

• Pamela (8/5): Reasonable accommodation, Lovely hosts but would pick a different location next time. - Met by the owner on arrival. Close to a very nice pub. We thought it would be closer to the water. Also, there was an unpleasant smell from the fisheries across the river.

• Jenny (8/5): We had a great time at this accommodation and would go back there. - It was a stunning view, and the accommodation and location were great It was a little noisy, but didn't keep us awake, so not really an issue, and as it is on a slope, the car park is a walk away from the cabin. Both of these we were told in advance, so no real complaints there.

• Tessa (9/5): Simple clean comfortable accommodation with nice water and sunset views - A 2 bedroom cabin with all that we needed for a 2 night stay. Lovely water and sunset views from the rooms and deck. Close to the road, but there wasn’t as much traffic as we expected and not much traffic overnight. The wifi signal wasn’t very strong at our cabin, but we could walk closer to the office if necessary.

• Allison (6/5): Pleasant stay. Good service and affordable. - Super easy. Tom was at reception when we arrived, very friendly and prompt. We were able to catch the bus from Hobart just a short walk to the location but not really walking distance from conveniences. Minimal, clean and nice view. The noise from the highway was fairly constant. Difficult if you are a light sleeper. Not really anywhere to wander or explore from the cabins themselves. No communal courtyard. Best for travellers who just want a comfortable place to sleep in between day trips.

• Shirley (10/5): - Port Huon Cottages are just lovely. Very clean and comfortable. The host was very nice and accommodating. The only thing that was a downside was the road noise at night. Nothing can be done about that but took a night to get used to. Definitely would stay there again if I’m in the area again.

• Hastings (4/5): Awful and could not wait to leave. - Nothing to be honest It was very noisy being so close to the main highway. The cabin was so small and not suitable for 4 adults. We were constantly shuffling around each other. We could not all share the lounge and 2 of us had to sit on the uncomfortable wooden kitchen chairs. The kitchen table was an outside picnic table which had a hole in it for an umbrella. The bedrooms were small and there was no room to put our bags. The wifi was so weak that you could not use it in the bedrooms. Parking was not convenient for unloading as you had to lug it up a steep gravel path. The cabin had a kitchen but it would be very hard to cook in as the kitchen was a walkway from a bedroom to a bathroom. This place is not good value for money.

• Lynne (8/5): - The host was friendly and helpful, but I suggest a review of the needs of a traveler be re-considered as the space is very basic eg no extra cutlery, glassware, plates or coffee mugs if inviting visitors to the room. One hand towel only was provided. Self - catering essentials to support the traveler were minimal eg no cooking spray or oil. No cushions, no extra pillows to provide additional comfort. Shampoo, conditioner and soap also minimal.
