Guest Reviews
- Dominic (4/5): - The location was great The bathroom was small, outdated.
No cutlery to eat my dinner
If someone closed there door you could hear it clearly.
- Harold (7/5): - Locatie! De lege tubes voor shampoo en douchegel waren leeg, veel andere potjes waren aanwezig, erg verwarrend. Uitslag op de ‘armen’ van de ramen leek op schimmel maar was waarschijnlijk wittige roest.
- kerryanne (6/5): -
- Molly (9/5): Had a great time it’s a good place to stay - I liked how comfortable the bed is it’s nice and soft and it also has a heating on it to keep you warm on cold nights and they have a good view of spirit of Tassie as it comes in and out and their food and drinks their are fantastic they also have a curtain for the room door and it makes it more comfortable in my opinion One thing I don’t like their is the fact that their are ants in the kettle in the hotel room and that’s basically it though
- Corrie (6/5): The room and the premises were a bit outdated but we only needed a place to sleep so it worked for u - The bedding and bathroom were clean. The beds comfortable I could hear somone upstairs talking on the phone quite loudly for quite sometime as we were trying to sleep

- Tony (8/5): -
- Tim (8/5): Pleasant - Good ..helpful despite late arrival Nothing
- Krystal (1/5): Don't stay here - Nothing Everything
- Jill (5/5): Couldn’t wait to - The property was old and musty very limited facilities not even a toaster It was old and dated and poorly equipped
- Pradip (4/5): - Location Not clean properly bed sheet has lots of stain and look like mug as well. I have attached pictures
- Michelle (8/5): A great location - The owner permitted us to change rooms.Location lovely It seems to be normal in Tasmania that you don't get room service as per your room tidied and bed made, perhaps like Asian countries this could be a consideration.

- Quinn (9/5): -
- Catherine (6/5): -
- Laurie (7/5): - Was good location Stairs
- vdub (5/5): Average - The location was good, nice walk to the city and across the road from the waterfront. The property is dated, I know they said they were going to renovate and can appreciate this, however very overpriced for what we had.

- Cibélle (10/5): -
- Cécile (7/5): Agréable endroit pour y séjourner en toute sécurité. - Amabilité de la propriétaire.
Propreté des lieux. Peu d'espace pour se préparer un lunch ou une collation.

- Michael (10/5): -
- Gail (6/5): - close to centre and ferry
clean and tidy cramped expensive for what it was
- Trevor (1/5): Do not waste your money staying here!!!!!!! - The only thing that was good was being close to spirt of Tasmania dock and town centre… not far from seeing penguins at the viewing platform. My partner and myself had spots over our body from bed bugs! The heater in the room gave out no heat even on 22c. The ad said garden views I didn’t see a garden, the picture shows car park and no garden!! To get hot water in the shower took a minute or two to come through. There was a hole in the bathroom wall with paper stuffed in it as shown in picture….
- Dale (8/5): - the owners we're nice and friendly. They serve good food nothing
- Tamara (10/5): Booked on short notice, hospitality was amazing -
- Vincent (6/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): We would be very happy to stay here again. - Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location - we enjoyed walking along the river. The cafe is lovely - delicious meals and great coffee!
- Jacquie (8/5): Well located. - This property is well located across the street from the riverside esplanade with good access to the CBD. The host is friendly and helpful. Beds were most comfortable. Entry is via codes provided by the host rather than a key. Off street parking is provided and there is an on-site restaurant for evening meals. Hot water took forever to get to the shower, and then it disappeared rather quickly.

- sarah-Jane (10/5): Clean, friendly vibes, water Veiw, cafe & resturant with yummy food & Veiw. Close to Transport facilities. Knowl - Amazing friendly staff, went above and beyond to help me. N/A
- Tina (10/5): Awesome keep it up - Calm and beautiful to have quality time
- John (1/5): EVERYBODY TRAVELLING to DEvenport----STAY AWAY from this dump. - Nothing there. This is NOT accommodation for visitors as the place was just about FULL of what appeared to be HOMELESS youths on some sort of government subsidy----NO Human to check in with-only phone codes. Parking was simply out the back on gravel.
- Adam (10/5): No complaints, very clean and warm reception -
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Tina (10/5): Beautiful place to have a holiday at - Calm and nice to have a rest or break from work
- CHIA-HSIN (10/5): -
- Shannon (8/5): Booked room later in the evening and had brilliant service and stay -
- Trevor (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (5/5): Cold stay - Fancy bathroom sink tap
No one else in parking lot which made it easy to park
Self check in No light on the staircase or the door, so I had to use my phone flashlight as a torch to not fall, or type in the passcode to open the room door
The window in the staircase outside my room was open, in winter, so it was very cold in the room
No information on how to use the heaters in the room, which were unplugged mobile models
- Christian (8/5): -
- Danning (5/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Wonderful - Close to all shops and to the spirit. Nothing, you were amazing
- Annie (7/5): The owners made our stay very pleasant and the room was very clean although very basic. - The owners could not do enough for us best hosts I’ve ever had and we are well travelled. The food in the cafe was very good again the service from the owners fantastic. No air con but the owners are in the process of updating rooms, room very small
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Martin (9/5): -
- Jody (8/5): Great spot - Goregous accommodation. Nil staff as everything automated. Really enjoyed our stay. Great area. Couldn't figure out how to get in but eventually you get sent a code. We did book last minute so that's why we had to wait for code. He telephone supplied to call if need help doesbt work. Other than that loved everything.
- Julia (1/5): -
- Anita (4/5): - Good location Currently, there is a tenant on the ground floor under police curfew as we learnt. He was shouting abuse in the backyard directly under our windows, threatened and abused us when he saw us, slammed doors, banged walls and went completely off the rails. We felt threatened and called the owner - no staff on site - who advised us not to leave the room for our safety. Police came and went and we were still scared when we left for dinner. Noisy drug deals later at night under our windows. Would not stay there again as it was very stressful, not what we want on our holiday
- Angela (10/5): -
- Felicity (5/5): - Extremely old building and not like the website photos. The price was not a match to 4 star accommodation same date in the city.
- DAVID (9/5): -
- Herman (1/5): Tolerable, but never again - Not much Dirty carpets, small room and directions to room was poor
- Matt & Janet (9/5): - Beautiful clean & relaxing
- Fane (3/5): - No reception to go to as an SMS is sent with the details and acces codes. You can arrive anytime. Room was clean as well. Overpriced!, small room barely have a place for our bags. Shower took over a minute for the hot water to come on and the tap. Shower door doesnt close properly. Turn on the Shower and you have to hold the shower head as its loose otherwise water goes everywhere. Shower Gel and Shampoo set looks like were left overs from previous stays. Police were called as someone was challeging the guests for a fight and no one seems to be at the property to managed there out of control behavours. We had to stay in our room for a while before we could go our for dinner.
- Adriano (3/5): No good if you want a good night sleep way too noisy - Noisy. You hear your neighbors moving around and coughing. The plumbing is noisy whenever anyone has a shower.
- Lily (10/5): Short stay - We loved our short stay here.
My dad and i spent less than 12 hours here as a layover and sleep from heading across on the boat and then bussing early morning, but I loved it.
The location was spot on for the bus stop. It was clean, secure, and quite nice overall The bathroom was a little small for us, but in saying that we are bigger people, so that's not the hotels fault
- Sarah (8/5): Good location for a cheap and cheerful stay - Location,
Parking was great
Rooms simple but clean
- Heather (2/5): Disappointing to say the least - The room was exceptionally clean & excellent location Not as advertised.. restaurant closed. No staff at the facility. Self check in process is difficult. No check in information sent so had to make phone calls to find out information. Room double booked. Room entry codes sent to the wrong phone number. The fire escape door bolted from the other side so couldn't be used in an emergency. We couldn't sleep worrying about it. The place shouldn't be rented until up to scratch
- sharon (9/5): We only stayed one night the unit was lovely and clean .. we would recommend to anyone interested in staying in Devonpor - Very comfy facilities and location was exceptional Little bit cramped for room, especially bedroom and you can hear your neighbours as plain as day
- Glynn (9/5): -
- Taswild (7/5): - convenient location. Did not rate staff as was contactless stay
- Alexander (9/5): -
- Luu (10/5): -
- DONNA (4/5): - Nice view of the coast and trees The room hadn’t been cleaned, they couldn’t contact the cleaners, had to wait for the room to be cleaned. The water stopped when you flushed the toilet, also didnt like the smell of the building, it has been a very basic stay compared to all our other stays in Tassie.
- Jenny (10/5): - Short walk to good food options Nothing

- Leo (8/5): -
- Lauren (8/5): - Location
Comfy rooms
- Mario (7/5): Adequate accommodation for a short stay. - Perfect location, next to the bay and also next door to the great restaurant. The room was quite basic but- surprisingly- the bathroom was specious.
- Alyson (6/5): Good stay, very comfy beds, room small -
- Christian (7/5): - Pas de petit déjeuner
- Stocks (8/5): Will definitely stay again. Thankyou - Location comfort and late check in where the staff were really well communication wise and it was easy to access as soon as we got there straight in no fuss great for the price Shower but still good t for the price and 10 am checkouts I dislike everywhere
- Passmore (5/5): -
- Donald (2/5): REFER COMMENTS> Stayed in TOWN due to Boat night sailing cancellation. OVER TO BOOKING .COM TO FIX? - bed reasonably comfortable ROOM NO 10 (for info following). Electrical tag on electric blanket 7 YEARS out of date, bottom of drinking glass (internal) showing old milk scum, electric jug cable to bench too short, DANGEROUS, (numerous dents on metal rubbish bin lid- possibly from full kettle (hot water/) falling - due to shortness of kettle cable ?). Power point above wash basin TOO close- electrocution?, 3 old shampoo/soap bottles on shower room floor, NO HOT WATER in shower- shower floor extremely slippery//, metal bed lamp loose ( danger?), curtain obstructing fire hydrant & signage, heavy odour from Chinese restaurant down stairs. SHOCKING///
- Jane (9/5): Hosts were absolutely lovely- accommodation clean, warm, comfortable bed great value for money - Hosts were absolutely lovely- accommodation clean, warm, comfortable bed great value for money Nil
- Ian (6/5): - Location is good - staff friendly
- Nicole (8/5): Very good - Good location, friendly staff. Furnishing/curtains etc a little old and tired.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fraser (8/5): Very good - the room size
- Larry (7/5): Good - Walking distance to the town Having to put in codes to enter
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Janice (8/5): Very good -
- Desmond (8/5): Very good -
- Allen (5/5): Basic facilities, small room, light switch didn't work - Location was good Strange place, it looks like a hotel but is run like an Airbnb - no staff around and all communication via text.
The whole place smelt of chinese food from the onsite restaurant which wasn't open.
The light switch for the bathroom didn't work and we were told over text they were aware of this and would fix - they didn't. The room was a family room but very small and the bathroom tiny. No air conditioning, the room was hot even in autumn. There was a control panel on the wall supposedly for aircon and heating but it didn't work and there are no vents in the room at all for any air con. Bit of a con really...
- Caretas (5/5): Passable -
- Rhonda (3/5): Poor - Odorous from the restaurant
- Natasha (5/5): Passable -
- Allan (9/5): Superb -
- Natasha (7/5): Good -
- Steven (9/5): Great location. Fantastic food at the restaurant cafe. - Location Nothing
- Martin (5/5): Passable - Locality was good.
Beds were comfortable.
Quiet night.
TV & shower worked well.
Off street parking was adequate. Place felt & looked rundown.
Small space to move in with chairs, floor fan & floor heater taking up valuable space.
Windows difficult to open as winders are rusty.
Bathroom tap assembly difficult to turn on & off, &, no hot water as tap under sink turned off - l turned it on.
Not worth $175!
Sorry, we will not be returning.
- Gala (5/5): Over priced - Location good Very hot room no air conditioning. Shower broken.
