- Melissa (10/5): - Amazingly delicious & creative, fresh too! We liked it all!
- Emilie (10/5): We will come back and recommend to all our friends and family to stay here. - Everything was perfect - amazingly beautiful location in the forest but very close to the town. We were greeted and treated the whole time like we were a member of the host's family. The breakfast was gourmet restaurant quality and the wine, cheese and scones were the best we have ever had. Nothing
- Natalie (10/5): Unique, warm-hearted wonderful escape. - The welcome and hospitality was exceptional. Breakfast using produce from garden was a treat. Completely faultless, interesting, unique stay.
- Stephanie (10/5): Absolutely outstanding. Graham and Gill are exceptional hosts! - The property is beautifully designed and appointed with wonderful artworks cleverly positioned as if they were always part of the landscape. We hope to be back!
- Dion (10/5): - We loved our stay here so much. Gill was the sweetest most considerate host and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The sculpture garden and gallery is beautiful as is the cafe, and the rooms are super comfortable and tranquil. Everything feels very intentional and designed with love. Will definitely be coming back here <3 The only thing I didn’t like was that we weren’t there for longer!!!!! What a hidden gem.

- Markus (10/5): Exceptional hospitality in a peacefull and beatuifully designed setting. - The breakfast was excellent and very delicious. Service from Gill and her staff was brilliant throughout our stay. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Top quality service and a 10/10 accommodation. We really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful location surrounded by nature combined with amazing art and a sculpture park. There are also some hiking trails close to the accommodation and Lorne beach is also good accessible by car. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. If we ever come back to Lorne we will definitely stay again at Qdos.
- Jouke (10/5): - Locatie was top. Midden in de natuur en op korte (loop) afstand van Lorne.

- Pauline (9/5): An experience that brings you close to nature - Jill was an amazing host and the experience we had was exceptional. Jill assured us to get a table at a local restaurant even gave us a lift there and back . Made us feel welcome and made our stay extra special.
- Gemma (10/5): Incredible stay in the trees - Our host was very welcoming, we had some lovely welcome drinks and was shown to our room. The room itself is amazing, up in the trees and in Japanese style. Very spacious and comfortable! Breakfast was also very tasty, we were well looked after.
Excellent location as just minutes away from the beach and the town centre. Absolutely nothing.
- Stephen (10/5): Loved it. - If you are new to Australia, Qdos offers an opportunity to spend time among nature. For me, I wanted to experience the outdoors in preference to an "in town" hotel or similar. Gill as a host was superb and made me feel very much at home from the first minute. Breakfast we very enjoyable, I chose a local Sourdough bread as one of several options.
The rooms are private and offer much more of a "get away from it all" experience than might be the case with a traditional hotel. I would have loved to be able to visit with my wife!!
Nothing springs to mind regarding dislikes, all my needs were met for my single night stay.

With only five beautifully designed units, the space felt intimate and special. The Japanese-inspired style added a unique and calming touch that made our stay truly memorable.
It was so quiet and peaceful, tucked away just five minutes from the bustle of Lorne. We were surrounded by trees and birdsong — a perfect retreat into nature. We also really enjoyed having access to the gallery, which added a lovely cultural element to the experience.

The setting is amazing.
- Anna (10/5): If you want a quiet place to unwind then this is the place for it - The location was beautiful and you could hear the koukaburras laughing
Such a clean environment with fabulous front office hospitality
- David (10/5): An exceptional property and host - it far exceeds the simple description online. It is expensive but I can honestly say - The property is a living art gallery with sculptures spread through the garden. The chalets are set on a hillside so are very private - and peaceful Nothing really - for my partner with mobility issues the access was challenging - but we both agree it was worth it . We really wished we had booked 2 nights instead of just one.
- Nadia (9/5): Wonderful stay! - Host was amazing and super accomodating. Qdos itself was beautiful - so happy to see some kangaroos hopping around too!
Breakfast at the cafe was delicious and had great coffee.
Beautiful artwork in the galleries and also in the surrounding areas.
We stayed in the Yume house and it was perfect for the 2 of us - complimentary drinks in the fridge was a great bonus. We stayed during a very hot weekend, so the room was very warm even with the dyson and fan on.
- John (10/5): A sublime location in the middle of the forest with artwork and beautiful seclusion - The breakfast was an absolute delight, and every care was taken to make my stay at delightful one

- Steffan (10/5): A comfortable romantic getaway immersed in nature. - The Japanese style of the room was a nice surprise, the surrounding nature was beautiful, the host Jill was lovely and very accommodating and the art gallery was a bonus.
- Kevin (10/5): The stay was very relaxing. The Japanese inspired rooms were better than some we have had in Kyoto - Breakfast was great and the location on the sculpture viewing deck very relaxing. A short walk around the sculpture park and garden before breakfast set us up for the day. Lorne is only 5 minutes drive away. Ipsos would be the best restaurant in Lorne and is worth booking in advance for dinner.
- Isabelle (9/5): Superb -
- Yutong (10/5): Best host, location and experience - The host/owner is the best ever. And the room is better than the photos
- Hendrik (9/5): Superb -

We were also taken to town to pick up takeaway food for dinner due to not having transportation which is over and above. - Verified traveler (10/5): A Gem on the GOR! - I had a wonderful time at Qdos Arts! A unique accommodation in the bush that feels like the perfect artist retreat. Still close to the center of Lorne and all the surrounding hikes/beaches.
Gill was a terrific host. A highlight of my trip on the Great Ocean Road!
- STEFAN (10/5): Beautifully calming - My wife and I had a stay here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The customer service provided by Gill and the team was outstanding. The Japanese inspired cabin was beautiful. Sitting out on the balcony listening to the birds 'having a party' was such fun. A family of kangaroos on the front lawn early one morning was also a highlight, There is a wifi connection which means you can stay connected if you need to or want to. Personally, I felt that it was great to spend a few days without TV and only connecting to post some beautiful photos! Great location (behind Lorne) and a good base for exploring some of the stunning walks and waterfalls. We would highly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing - It was amazing loved what Gill and Graham have done. Creating their dream in Lorne absolutely amazing
- Vince (8/5): Touch of Japanese in Lorne - Thanks to ur wonderful host Gillian, she made our long weekend an truly pleasant and memorable one.
She was helpful, charming, accommodating, friendly and gracious.
Our Japanese inspired cottage was neatly presented and a pleasure to stay in. I would although say it may have been a problem if the weather was warmer as there was no aircon.
Despite this, the complimentary breakfast was lovely and the general surrounds were peaceful and relaxing.
Highly recommended.
- Trevor R Thomas (10/5): Beauty, Tranquillity and Hospitality - The beauty of the Qdos sculpture garden, set in a tranquil forest combines perfectly with the Japanese tree houses to provide a perfect weekend retreat. Gill's service is friendlý and attentive, breakfast was generous and delicious and the beauty of Lorne and its environs make Qdos a destination we hope to return to regularly.
- Krisi (10/5): Beautiful Space & Stay - My partner and I had the most magnificent stay. Secluded, private and immersed in natural surrounds. The Japanese interiors were authentic and extremely comfortable! The weather was cold but our room was warm and made us not want to leave.
Gracious hosts and staff. Quality art in the gallery. We look forward to staying again! Really exceeded all expectations
- Lisa (10/5): Gorgeous tree house nestled into the bush - We had a wonderful stay at Qdos. Our room was nestled amongst the trees and impeccably clean and tastefully appointed. Our room was small, however this was not a concern due to the abundance of glass and views to nature.
We were far enough from the hustle and bustle of Lorne to make it a relaxing getaway, but close enough for a morning walk to the beach (approx 20 minutes).
Gillian, our host, was incredibly attentive - offering a glass of red and nibbles as we relaxed in front of the fire in the gallery. Breakfast was also included, as was coffee - and both of a quality that you would find in many great inner Melbourne cafes.
All in all, a relaxing getaway for my husband and I and we will certainly visit again.
- Eddie (8/5): Great romantic and restful getaway for two. - Located in a bush setting yet only a short drive to the main town and beach. Very friendly staff, cafe and gallery on site. Rooms have a intimate restful ambience, are well maintained and very clean. Well recommended.
- Andy (8/5): Amazing accommodation! - Really beautiful place..
- Stu (10/5): Fantastic couple hideaway - Beautiful location with fantastic accomidation. Qdos is a fantastic place to stay for couples looking for a romantic getaway. The host are lovely, welcoming and there to offer advice and help were needed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely ryokan style inn in the woods - We just loved this inn. It's off the main road, up in the hills, surrounded by woodlands. It's an active arts center, with a huge wood fired ceramics kiln and studio, and art on display inside and out. The accommodations are Japanese ryokan rooms, beautifully constructed, up on a hillside looking out into the trees. Frequent wildlife - kangaroos and koalas, and birds flying past at deck height. Your hosts (Gillian and Grame) are warm, welcoming and attentive. It's a very calm and restful place to be.
One thing to be aware of - like all ryokan style rooms, these are very compact. There's nowhere to store large luggage without crowding the room and making it very awkward. We had big bags for a long trip - we just left them in our car and took an overnight bag up to the room. That worked fine.
This is not a place to use like a motel, just as a base for trips elsewhere. It's a place to stay at, enjoy and let it calm you. If you do that, you'll enjoy it immensely.

- Magda (10/5): Loved our stay and now feel super relaxed! - Highly recommend Qdos. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating to all guests. Gill is an amazing host and the team provide a very welcoming and relaxed atmophere to make all guests feel at home. We'll definitely be back again.
