Guest Reviews
- Merlane (8/5): -
- Maureen (7/5): The renovation you do when you’re not doing a renovation. - Modern appliances and fittings, shower was good and bed was comfy. Overall this property looks very rundown, especially from the outside. Inside it looks like renovations have been attempted to suit the property, rather than the other way around. It was OK for our purposes, but its advertised title of “luxury apartment” is a bit of a misnomer.
- Christopher (7/5): clean and comfortable and good value for money. - Place is decent, it's missing a few things in the kitchen like no oven and inadequate dishwashing equipment. No clear instructions where given about the stay when we arrived but overall it's comfortable and good value for money, the Wyatt guests feel very homey. No clear instructions and some items in the kitchen where missing.

- Daniel (8/5): Needs a little more improvement to make it 5 star rating - What I liked about the property is that its central to everything thats in town. You can either drive or walk depending on what your shopping for. The house is spacious with modern facilities. Accessible laundry, 2 toilets and comfortable beds. Quiet and plenty of space for kids to play outside. Great price for the location and space. No globe in the lamp on the left side of bed. TV in main room had no reception or internet access. This was fixed once I notified the property owner. Towel rack & toilet roll holder broken in main bathroom as well as the shower head needs to be replaced. The water from the shower floods the bathroom so a screen or shower curtain is needed to prevent down the track issues. Needs a bigger fry pan for cooking especially when families stay. (I bought one and left it there) Also would be good to have a BBQ and more kitchen essentials like electric fry pan, steamer etc to cater for all cooking. No clothes line or airier on property only a dryer. No draws, wardrobes in 3rd room as well as the power point didn't work in there as well. Suppose to be self sufficient but had no cleaning products, vacuum or replacement bin bags, toilet paper etc on site to maintain cleanliness.
- Jackie (5/5): - Two toilets, large living space, comfortable lounge suite, heating. Found blood on my bottom sheet from whoever stayed before us. Obviously, the bedding wasn't changed before we arrived. This completely ruined my stay there, even though the night manager came and changed the bedding at 12.00am. It was a gross find.
- Stephen (10/5): - Beautiful older property Beautifully presented
- Gary (9/5): -
- Dareen (10/5): Brilliant - Fantastic in every way
Well appointed large rooms, great beds, walking distance to shops etc
- carolyn (6/5): Great location. Whole place was clean & beds comfy. The need of further items in kitchen. - Location was great. Beds were super comfy. There were no tea towels, dishwashing powder or liquid. We booked for 4. There was only 3 plates, mugs & very little serving equipment. The shower flooded across floor.
- Stuart (7/5): Good -
- maria (8/5): - The property was central to everything and was able to walk to most places. It was spacious which was great. The issues that i would recommend being looked at is the fan in the shower was very dirty and in turn didn't work very well and the oven was also quite dirty so we didn't use it and the microwave was a bit of a concern as well as it didn't turn properly. Other than that a very enjoyable stay.
- Gina (6/5): good location of property, but lacked warmth in design and appearance. - Location was very convenient to centre of town and attractions The garage was not clear of rubbish and used as storage at the back, and ivy growing under the roof into the garage ceiling and garage door tracks.
Also not pleased with clothes hanging rack located in the hallway rather than bedroom, the hall also used to store two large set of drawers - not sure why they would be located here? The suite was clean and basic, very clinical appearance with no warmth of furnishings.
- Joel (4/5): Disappointing - The shower needs some sort of screen or curtain same with the single bed by to door no privacy. Also long black hair in kitchen draws and on bed sheets.
For the amount of people can stay there the fridge was only big enough for two people.
- Lesley (6/5): In short it is a pleasant place to stay. But they need to address these issues. Price assigned was too high for standard - Lovely staff member greeted us and communicated quickly on some issue’s.
Location was excellent. Main bed was very comfortable. Two tv’s,one linked with internet. Two toilets. Off street parking. Lovely little coffee machine.
Ample heating. Kitchen cupboards not stocked with enough cups, glasses bowls etc for 5 people eg only 1 drinking/water glass.
Shower rose squirted water everywhere so floor drenched, masking tape around frosted glass panel in bathroom door. Only three people could sit in lounges when it sleeps 5.
It is older style home renovated so has odd lay out for 3rd,4th & 5th sleeping position… no privacy for them.
Rear sensor light does not activate if you drive to end of parking area so you have no courtesy light to get in.
Attention to detail in cleaning is poor. Food in sink plug, hair in bathroom plug, stains/ marks inside cupboards/ fridge. Dirty plates. Former guest old toothbrush in bedside table, not vacuumed under bed. Former guest bathroom products left. Dried soap splashes up bathroom roller blind, very dirty grill…..on and on.
I did let staff know who offered to send cleaning team back however I did not want strangers coming in once we had arrived and started our stay. My expectation is job should be done right in first place and not me have to tell management.
A refund should have been offered at that point.
- Govind (9/5): Superb -
- Clynton (8/5): Very good - Authentic modernise federation style accommodation, everything you need for a comfortable stay
- Ceri (4/5): Noise next door - Stayed in the Wisteria Suite last weekend. Check in was great, the apartment is comfortable & great location but the photos aren’t a good indication of the set up. It’s was once a big house that has been divided into separate ‘apartments’. This means that there are thin walls & internal doors between them. Unfortunately we were woken at 6am both mornings by the 2 or 3 guys staying next door. They were talking, making breakfast etc. through the door right behind our bed - see pics - it sounded like they were in our room! This would turn us off returning.
- Kate (8/5): Cute little home for a staycation! - Comfy bed, styling, furniture, location, garage for car, something different than just a hotel room! A little chilly in the bathroom from drafts under doors and no heat light.
- Melville (8/5): Perfect location right in the centre. Affordable pricing even during Easter and friendly staff that go out of their way - Perfect location, lots of parking and the availability of a vacuum cleaner which is very important when you stay for the 3 plus days. The main bedroom itself was huge and very spacious. Apart from the shower missing a few basic things like a soap/shampoo holder and the actual placement of the shower screen, plus the partly see through bathroom door with missing masking tape, everything was pretty good.
- Len (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful venue to stay in very relaxing convenient and quiet.
- Emma (10/5): - Quirky, historic guesthouse on a quiet street a few minutes walk to Mt Gambier CBD. Lots of space for two people. Tastefully renovated with a nice outlook and a lovely sunroom across the front of the property. Off-street undercover parking. Great value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Enjoyable stay in Mount Gambier - We have stayed here before in the Wisteria suite and it has been renovated - new bathroom and kitchen. The only problem we had was the step from the bathroom /back door area into the kitchen. The geometric tile pattern is deceptive and we both nearly had falls. The step needs a bright strip across it so it is visible; it is an accident waiting to happen. Also I think the bathroom would be freezing in the winter; maybe a heater light should be installed. Despite this we will stay here again.
- Van (9/5): very good. It is recommended for group of 3-5 people - quite a big house with 4 bed rooms, 2 toilets
- Jinto (10/5): - Nice property and apt for vacation
- Hamjath (9/5): Welldone - Comfortable Carpark
- Rae (6/5): It's a convenient place for a short stay. - The location is convenient and the house is clean. The bed (mattress) is too soft, the quilt is too heavy, which makes users very difficult to turn the body. Sleeping in that bed made us feel very tired, and sore back.
- Jodie (8/5): Very good -
- David (3/5): Disappointing stay, ruined weekend away - Very little other than location and the shower! Bed against door to adjoining apartment lounge! Noise levels from next apartment a problem. Thin walls and could not relax at all. Headboard creaked badly. Lack of cooking utensils (2 saucepans only and a broken crepe pan!) No frying pan, no oven ware at all or oven gloves. No coat hangers. Outside area and front garden unkempt. Signs to clean up after stay but no broom, dustpan, brush or cleaning materials. Cheap useless small container of washing up liquid. Had to buy washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets to wash up and foil trays to use the oven.TV was not working, coaxial cables hanging down over fireplace. NO FIRE EXTINGUISHER! Poor lighting thoughout. No info other than WiFi Password and signs to clean up!. Made a complaint to The Commodore about the noise, spoke to next door apartment about this twice also. Also complained to The Commodore about the TV and gave the broken crepe pan to the maintenance guy. We never heard anymore! We were very disappointed and it spoilt our weekend away. It could have been so much better for a bit of basic design sense in converting and ruining what was a lovely old residence. Some attention to detail and customer satisfaction would have been appreciated. A wretched accommodation experience for us.
- Michael (5/5): Adequate - Central location was superb.
Fridge was a good size The malodourous cooking smells that seem to permeate form the carpet and window furnishings.
Light fittings very dusty
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Godwin-groves (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks and our only issue was dealt with promptly so pleased with their customer service - Federation suite gave the comforts of being at home, full kitchen to use, undercover parking Driveway needs some attention and a screen door to the front would have been nice to get some cross ventilation
- Vickie (8/5): Very good -
- Ann (10/5): - Beautiful cottage with good heating and set up with everything you need for a short or longer stay. Great communication to enter the property. Maybe a look at the pressure in the shower would be helpful but would definitely stay there again.
- Craig Donald (8/5): - Middle of town so walking distance to shops, cafes and pubs. Only niggle was that it wasn’t really 2 bedrooms as such, but the price is ok.
- Corinne (8/5): - Reasonable stay, air conditioning works well and comfortable. TV not working on second day and despite ringing and assuring us someone was coming over to fix it, no one came!
- Vinodh (6/5): - It is a period property showing the signs of the age
- Tom (10/5): - Very happy with the place, felt very comfortable. Very good ✅
- Kayla (8/5): - Nice property, quite, very clean
- colin (8/5): - Front door difficult to lock.
Cosy fireplace was gas and couldn’t operate.
Overall a bit dark and non welcoming.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the property overall, the only concern is that the building is a bit old and there’s not much sunlight inside (however there’s a nice balcony!)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place was amazing. The only downside was how cold it was but once the we worked the heater out it was great
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was as described on the ads
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet street but right in the city centre - a five minute walk.
Nice old house but decor a bit old and tired and some basic items missing in kitchen eg bottle opener/can opener. Some milk in the fridge to make a cup of tea after a long drive would be nice too
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wyatt Guest House in Mt Gambier - I stayed in the property for one night and really enjoyed it. Cleanliness, comfort and quiet location off the main streets are one of the most appealing factors for me.
Families might like as well the number of beds.
- CAROLYN (4/5): - The place has all you need but
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The place was ok. A bit more effort could be put into the cleaning. Its hard when you have 6 people staying and only has 3 chairs. Also you can see into the bathroom from the main bedroom via a window which I thought would be easy to black out.
- Vaibhav (2/5): - The property is in terrible condition with ants and snails crawling in the kitchen area. No ventilation what so ever, had to check out a day prior.
- Jessica (4/5): - Have stayed here before, federation suite is fabulous, wasn’t available this time so ended up In wisteria suite.
Wouldn’t stay in this one again, quite rundown and not very clean (compared to federation, lots of stains on the carpet).
Would stay again. Great facilities, but only if in the federation suite, the rest needs a revamp!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our own space, great bathroom and comfortable bed.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great value property in an excellent location. Comfy beds with electric blankets, our two children loved the little bunk room. Communication with property management was excellent, will definitely stay again if down that way. Thanks!
- Crystal (8/5): - Great location close to town. There was unfortunately no book like most places with local attractions and eateries or things to do.
- Amanda (10/5): - Good value for money great spacious apartment quiet area quick to help if any problems definitely will be staying there again and walking distance to all shops and food places
- Shane (10/5): Loved It - Was A Great Place To Stay , Very Close To All Attractions And Shops , Spa Was Awesome With A Small Glass Of Nice Port, Really Enjoyed Our Stay A Little Luxury Away From Home. Will Stay Again, Thank You
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property was nice and spacious, 2 separate bedrooms, lounge and kitchen. The location is quiet and central to the town.
Disliked that it was very dirty, mold in the bathroom, kitchen was covered in splatters, all the rooms were dusty and had cobwebs hangers from the ceilings.
Furnishings are very tired
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Its old and not clean. Recommend to aviod it. I wouldn't have booked if its not last minute.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The old world charm was nice. The high ceilings, spa bath, courtyard, laundry, washing line, spacious living space and A/C came in very hand on a super hot day. Central location and easy to find.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For price and location, this place was great. It had everything we needed for our short stay, including lots of clean towels. We were in the Wisteria suite and our daughter loved the bunk-bed in the little bunk room. The aircon worked great, there were plenty of dishes/cookware in the kitchen and the bathroom has a great spa bath. I read some bad reviews about this place before booking, but honestly it was fine! I’m glad I booked it and we would stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is VERY quiet for road traffic noise. However you can hear everything from the other unit (talking, breakfast being prepared etc) as the walls that have been built to separate the units is very thin.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice quite place to stay close to shops and restaurants. Everything in walking distance
- Jeff (10/5): - It was a nice property to stay in. Good location as well.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Burgundy Suite - Wyatt House, Mt Gambier - Quite comfortable and easy walk to the centre of Mt Gambier. The kitchen was rather small so can understand the fridge being small but we really would have preferred to have and needed to have a larger fridge to cater for our needs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was really comfy, we loved the sun room. If we stayed again we would stay in the same one. Kids enjoyed themselves too. Thanks for a nice week. It was ashame it rained every day. Thanks again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The sun room is a lovely surprise! I booked the property bcoz the photo of the master had a fierce glowing heater but it didn't work, really disappointing! But the rest of the property is spacious great for a private romantic couples retreat! There is also ample room for 4 extra ppl if required? There's a private outdoor BBQ area x2 toilets compact efficient kitchen! Walking distance to a few fast food outlets! Good value, friendly helpful staff!! Will return
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The shower head needs replacing in the Burgundy suite bathroom.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms were fine for a couple but if there were more it might be a bit different. There is a window from the bedroom into the bathroom and another into the back entry hall. At the least, I think these could be frosted. Otherwise it's fine, great internet. Also cleaning products being available would have made it better. We were there for 5 days and really wanted some disinfectant etc just to run over the bathroom and toilet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Spacious appartement, very nice outdoor barbequearea under roof, central and quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very comfortable, and good location.
No off road parking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No top sheets on kids beds.
Pretty basic amenities
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wifi was a bonus. Property very clean and comfortable. Quirky older style 3 apartment converted house. Good location for proximity to centre of town, can walk to pubs, cafe's etc. Lacking information about the town, so necessitated a trip to the tourist info shop. We stayed in the Federation suite and the shower overflows across the floor, needs remedy. A new shower head with flexible hose would be very welcome! Easy and cheap to buy from Bunnings for this fixture, no plumbing required! Quiet and off street parking was welcome.
- jess (8/5): Great if looking for a 2 bedroom place - Overall a pleasant stay. You need to pick up and drop off keys at a different location but it is within walking distance if needed. Good distance from shops and restaurants.
Pretty clean.
- Stephanie (6/5): Not family friendly - We booked to stay for 3 night for our family of 4, my husband, myself and our 11 and 8 year old daughters. The 2nd bedroom had bunk beds in for our daughters to sleep in but the air conditioning unit is mounted on the roof the 2nd bedroom so there was a constant rumble in the room, and our daughters couldn't sleep, so they had to sleep on the fold out bed in the lounge room, which wasn't what we wanted as we had no time away from each other. The lougeroom didn't have enough chairs for the 4 of us to sit in, and neither did the kitchen. This room is more suited to a couple and not a family and the parking was a nightmare. Unfortunately we won't be going back there again.
- Lockie (6/5): - The property looked amazing in the photos. A CHARMING, old world, self contained Suite, but unfortunately in reality it was VERY disappointing. When it rained the bathroom window leaked relentlessly with water pouring in over the window sill and all over the vanity and onto the floor. The same happened in the front entrance and as there was no mat inside the door it was slippery and muddy within minutes of arrival and for our entire three night stay. Some of the appliances were in disrepair or simply not working and the queen bed was very uncomfortable. On the upside as we couldn't really go anywhere much because of the terrible weather, the heating was EXCEPTIONAL throughout. We do travel quite alot and stay in various styles of accommodation and I would say that for the money it cost us we would not stay here or recommend this property to anyone during the WINTER months.
- Melissa (8/5): Great central location - Spa was fantastic, great location. It is a house split into two sections. We are a family of 5 and it was a bit small for us. Would be great for a family of 3.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We were only there for a short time while we were getting ready for a wedding and then we were away all the afternoon and most of the night Next time it would be nice to be able to relax and enjoy the house and comforts it has to offer.
- Lisa (8/5): Classic charm - Whilst a little shabby on the outside, this house opens up to a charming heritage home. Plenty of space for a family of 4 or 5. And nice and close to the main commercial strip. The shower head could do with a little repair but apart from that, we were very happy with Triune House.
- Wombat (6/5): A bedroom missing - Booked this for three people travelling to Mount Gambier on business - overnight stay. Thought we were getting a two bedroom self contained with kitchen. Didn't mind the idea of two of use using bunk beds as it was only going to be overnight. Wisteria room let us down as the area where the bunk beds are placed, is by no definition "a bedroom". It is a very small sun area with no doors for privacy, this was very uncomfortable to say the least. The kitchen wasn't a kitchen it was a corridor with no room for more than one person at a time. There were extension cords to all appliances in the kitchen, bedroom, bunk bed area and in the lounge. Most of the extension cords lounge were not affixed to anything and in the lounge were just hanging off the fireplace, I seriously question the safety of this type of practice. As for comfort none of the beds were comfortable, none of us had a reasonable sleep.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Place was ok... But layout is a bit awkward - Triune House is a very large old house that is split into two - Federation Suite and Burgandy Suite. Stayed in the Federation Suite. The place is ok, clean, and cheap for price compared to others in Mt Gambier. A number of pet peeves though. The Federation suite of Triune house is advertised as "multiple bedroom" but it actually there is only one proper room (king bed). There are two single beds in what I think the house layout intends to be a leisure area for the main bedroom, which link to the bathroom which could be bit awkward sharing with people. Another 'bedroom' is the entrance hallway of the house where the bed is one of those temporary fold out beds. The other 'bedroom' is like a study, with no door. The centralised heating didn't work, nor the electric fireplace installs. One of the floor lights didn't even have a lightbulb installed. The bathroom has been redone but the design is pretty poor; water from the shower head goes EVERYWHERE because the glass shower screen is way too short, so you end up making almost the entire tiled area wet. But the absolute killer was that the king bed mattress felt like an old spring bed, which gave me huge back pain the next day. The electric blankets was nice though.
