Guest Reviews
- Abdul (6/5): - Place is average, showers need upgrade. Needs cleaning
- Trevor (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay. On arrival the office lady organised for us to check in early. The cleaning staff were great they made sure everything was in order in our room each day. We will be happy to stay again. Thanks to you all.šš
- Jim (8/5): - Cockroaches and spider in the room which I can handle but others might not. Looks a bit rough from the car park but all good once in the room. Bistro food was good too with short walk across busy road to a well stocked mall.
- susan (10/5): - Facilities in th room were excellent. Great air con, nice shower & a microwave. Handy to go to the restaurant for great food & service
- Jenny (6/5): - It was convenient to where I needed to be for work. Reception was unattended and I had to wait a long time for someone to come.
Otherwise clean and comfortable.
- Raj (8/5): - We liked the location and there was a lot of stuff near it and the beds and the food was really good and so was your staff members were really nice
- Karen (8/5): - Nice rooms beside a great pub.
Just wish the doors had more sound proofing. It was like the neighbours were in the same room.
- Colleen (4/5): - You definitely need to do something about your bathroom mould on the roof in there and the shower is absolutely disgusting. There is no pressure in the water and the tap handle fell off. You have to hold it on to use the tap handle in the shower on the cold and getting the mixture right is absolutely atrocious. The room itself was okay. Just do something about the bathroom and the water pressure in the shower. I definitely will never stay there again.
- Liumeikao (10/5): - I just love
- Shayne (10/5): - Wonderful facilities, very convenient location and chef cooked up a great feed. Will definitely stay again next time Iām in the area and would recommend this for anyone in need to accomodation in Brisbane.
- Jasmine (8/5): - It was really nice but in the bathroom there was mold on the roof and stains on the wall near one of the beds and also there is a bright light that shines throw the curtain beside that the service was amazing and beds are really comfortable
- Shanna (8/5): - Very comfortable. A bit noisy from the pub on a Saturday night. But overall we enjoyed it.
- Jan (6/5): - Affordable, clean and convenient
- Michael James (10/5): - Close to shopping, excellent meals at bistro.
- Stewart (10/5): - I enjoyed staying there considering I had to go to a funeral.i wanted to stay in a clean and safe place not too far from the funeral. Didnāt need to use heating or cooling as the temperature was perfect. I would definitely stay there again.
- Lenard (2/5): - No hot water
- Frank (10/5): Browns Plains and simple - The perfect no frills stop over when pasaing by Brisbane. This hotel offers all the usual pub services in the maon building, from Sportsbar to restaurant, whilst the motel units out the back are quiet, away from any noise, clean and perfect for the traveller who just needs to have a good sleep. Great staff. Will stay again.
- nikola (2/5): - Very basic. Not a "suite". Very poor service and food in the restaurant. Shower was good, bed not so much
- Charlotte (10/5): - Great motel units. Really clean and quiet with super comfy beds, good room amenities like crockery, cutlery, microwave, etc. Perfect location for shopping and restaurants. We choose to stay here every year as it's the perfect location for our annual conventions at the Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
- natasha (6/5): - Overall ok place to stay, shower design is terrible and there was no hot water, actually no water coming out of the hit tap at all. Called to advise them and all i got was sorry about that. Not that i expected money back but maybe offer of a drink or meal voucher maybe as a token.
- Regina Bernadette (8/5): - First time staying at a Pub accomodation and it was good.
- Sitiveni (10/5): - M
- Carolyn (10/5): - I stayed for two nights last week, and it was fantastic. As soon as we entered the bistro, a staff member showed us to the reception, and the manager checked us in quickly and smoothly. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable.
The rooms are a bit of a walk from the bistro, I didnāt hear any noise from there or from the main road ā it was very peaceful. The location is excellent. Westpoint Shopping Centre is literally right next door, and Grand Plaza is just across the road with all the shops you might need.
If I had to mention a downside, it would be the size of the shower room ā itās a little small. Iām 5'2", and my elbows sometimes bumped into the walls. I canāt imagine how it would be for someone with a larger build.
- Anthony (10/5): - Excellent venue/accommodation, staff were amazing
- Sergey (4/5): - Browns Plains Hotel is actually a pub and slots machines ("pokies") with a dozen of rooms at the back. Those rooms are not any decent hotel by any means - they might be good for spending a night after getting wasted at the bar instead of driving home, but they are not suitable for a normal person good night sleep.
- "Reception" door was locked, no reaction for the ring bell, phone number written on the door did not answer. We went inside the sports bar and a bartender was able to check us in.
- There were smell and cockroaches in the room.
- The bar got *karaoke nights*, which were very well auditable inside the room, until midnight.
- During the day a manager is shouting at a staff asking why they have not cleaned some rooms. Not just raising voice, but basically abusing a cleaner for at least 10 minutes straight: "why you that, why you this."
- There are no latch on a door to ensure that overly "motivated" cleaner would not enter while I am taking shower or changing clothes. It did not happen - they choose to respect the DND sign. But based on the argument I've heard they were close to it.
On a good side, the bed was comfortable and it's walking distance the their bar (to join the karaoke night) and a shopping mall.
- John (8/5): - Surprisingly quite, set back off main road
- Kerry (10/5): - Excellent
- Jo (8/5): - Had everything you needed, clean and comfy :)
- Bruce (8/5): - Friendly,clean and helpful.would return in future.good value for money
- Rachel (6/5): - Room was not noisy and new inside but I personally would not stay there again.
- Bradley (8/5): - Clean, enough room and pillows very happy
One problem ant's.
- michael (8/5): - At first glance i thought this looks a bit old but inside had been nicely renovated. shower cubicle a bit small and I would not like to be an excessively large person trying to use it. a guide to using the tv would be good. a light over the writing desk would be handy. overall was clean and comfortable and i would stay again.
- Amy (8/5): - Very convenient location and good to have the entertainment facilities close by with the bar/game room. Hotel more suitable for adults travelling along without children. Great location for shopping with Grand Plaza across the road with many eateries close by.
- Cecil (6/5): - Bates Motel
Only cold water for shower
- Carlie (2/5): - Property flooded and we had to leave
- Epi (8/5): - No comment
- Maxine (10/5): - I like that it's across the road from the shopping centre, & the property itself is amongst more eateries & shops.
- Pamela (8/5): - Clean and efficient rooms. Farther west than I wanted but fairly easy to get to.
- Sandra (6/5): solo stay - Noise early in the morning, when staff are dropping bottles into bins. Food selection could be better at lunch time.
chef was happy to help with my diet restrictions, of something simply to eat
- Mehran (10/5): - Good
- Demelza (10/5): - Surprisingly the premises was quite quiet, it was clean, beds are comfy and everything (supermarket, fast food venues) is in walking distance.
- Samantha (10/5): - Karaoke Bar @ Browns Plains Tavern on Saturday night was a tonne of fun!!
- Chris (10/5): - All good
- Fautui (8/5): - The room itself was lovely and clean however the location of the motel (all the way at the back) is unsafe at nights. Needs for lighting leading up to the area.
- Fos (10/5): - It was quiet and very clean and peaceful. We enjoyed the nature , we felt very at home. Everything was provided such as teabags and kettles. Next time we stay in Queensland we will stay here again.
- Vikram (2/5): - Very dirty.
Not fit for a family.
We decided not to stay and requested a refund which was duly done.
- Gary (8/5): - It was fine. Unfortunately the cleaners left the door unlocked but nothing went missing
- Steve (8/5): - .
- Craig (8/5): - Good budget accommodation can be a bit noisy as the accommodation is behind the pub that it forms part of. Check in desk only open at fixed times. Room was clean but had a strong smell of bleach. Good location for access to shops and main roads which are very busy. All together was good value that suited our brief stay.
- Adam (10/5): - The overall location, with close distance to all the shopping complexities. Aswell for the room i was in was very relaxing and comfortable after doing my shopping, and walking was very nice to come back to rest in peace from the heat outside in a nice air conditioning room. Very happy with my stay with brown plains hotel accommodation. Definitely be coming back more frequently to explore more of this lovely brisbane.
- Kerry (8/5): - Very tidy & affordable
- Mari (10/5): - Perfect location, literally central to everything. We stayed for 7 nights and the room was serviced everyday. Tavern had yummy meals and cheap drinking during Karaoke night. Parking was tight but thats was literally the only con i can say. Safe to say next time we are in Browns Plains this is where we will be staying.
- Heidi (6/5): - We stayed here before and loved it however second time around it was a very different experience. Woke up to some men near our door. It appeared they were not staying there but hung around the property and seemed to be associated with one of the units that were very noisy with people coming and going day and night.Long story but we ended up calling the police and hotel security.
- Samantha (10/5): - Simple but sweet
- Shaylara (10/5): - VERY clean
- Sam (8/5): - Older style of accomodation. Clean, comfortable, well priced, with dining available almost all day in the hotel bistro, and plenty of shops and cafes across the road.
- Kyle (8/5): - Was ok
- Melissa (8/5): - Nice clean room. The food at the hotel was delicious.
- Evelyn (8/5): - It was a good room that provided the facilities we needed for our stay.
- Josie (8/5): - No coat hangers
No tissues
No biscuits
Poor light for sketching
Refrigerator defrosted at least once a day
But it was convenient, thankyou
- Himmatsinh (10/5): - Stay at motel was really good. I would definitely go back again. However, I would like to notify management that shower needs some attention. When I was trying to use hot water, the hot water system takes ages to come through and sometimes the hot water stops in between shower. Flow of water is not good enough to have a really good shower please look into it if you can.
Thanks
- Jaspreet (10/5): - Great
- Adrienne (10/5): - The room was large, clean , quiet, safe and well equipped, comfortable beds and hot showers. All good!
- Graham (10/5): - Lovely stay & beautiful meal from the bistro⦠all the ammenities you require at a great price
- Sandra Ann (10/5): - Everything is close by if you donāt have a car. Not noisy. Convienennt
- Ambition (8/5): - U
- Tony (8/5): - Itās close to everything no need to drive once booked in
- Allan (10/5): - Allan Brazier
We Stay there every year
Good Position
Freindly Staff
- Jaruwan (10/5): - Great room
- Aleah (10/5): - Room was lovely- perfect place to rest a night or two thank you for a great stay!
- Sharon (10/5): - This was a great place to stay, very clean and serviced everyday.
The shower pressure is not that great but the hot tap was needing repair and it was fixed the next day, great service, close to public transport and shops.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great place to stay for a short stay except for a few issues. The smell, the fridge and plumbing issues. The room had a wet stale musty smell that didn't go away no matter how much I aired the room. The mini fridge didn't keep anything cold which was very annoying. There was a major issue was the plumbing. Every time we flushed the toilet the bowl would fill with water and almost overflow. When I could actually get a hold of staff they were friendly and helpful. But it was hard to get staff on the phone or in the office.
Otherwise, our stay was good. The bed was comfy, room was neat, the room had all the extras you needed for a short stay, cleaning staff were amazing each morning making sure we had plenty of towels etc.
- Rosalie (2/5): - No air conditioning in our room in a 30 plus degree day. At least 35 degrees. Portable fans brought in. No offer of discount. No milk in fridge for morning cuppa. Borrowed some of room 1. Very disappointed as travelled for Brother's Birthday.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Browns Plain review Jan 2024 - The Brown Plains Hotel was Clean tidy and value for money
- Kevin (10/5): Hotel stay - The stay was really good. The hotel had more then enough space and amenities.
- Sandra (8/5): - Hi the staff at this hotel was exelent the room was just ok i did have an issue with the coubourd in the bathroom fell and landed on my foot witch brused it but it ok everything else was good
- Anna Bella (10/5): - The receptionist was so lovely to deal with and although I was running a bit late and got there right at the end of the check-in period of 8pm, she was so pleasant and understanding. She gave good recommendations of where to get the morning coffee and a bite to eat locally, which was so helpful for someone who was visiting from interstate. I would definitely stay here again because they had everything I needed in a convenient location.
- Yogeeta (6/5): - Not bad
- Joan (10/5): - The property was spotlessly clean and well appointed.
The only problem was the size of the bathroom which was a very tight fit for my mobility walker.
Hotel meals were excellent.
- Jeff (6/5): - Took quite some time to get access - office was closed out the back.
Room smelt like disinfectant
- Heidi (8/5): - The room has a kettle toaster microwave fridge freezer aircon wifi tv so everything you need to be self sufficient. There are also coles woollies very close by and lots of Takeaway options. The pub next door is good.
- Katherine (8/5): - Good.
- Corinne (8/5): - It was fine for the one night ,
- Bernard (10/5): - 2nd stay with consistent good, clean, quiet, quality accommodation. Great staff and cleaner can't do enough for you. Food at restaurant excellent. Bottle shop is cheap. Not enough parks out front of units but not a problem as you can park close in carpark
- Rachel (8/5): - clean tidy and comfortable.
- Michael (2/5): - Room smelt like spew.
Found spew reissue over toilet seat,
Sheets where smelly.
Was a major water leak out side the room on near parking bay.
Took several attempts to access staff to book in.
All in all very poor service, a lack of care to state of accommodation facilities.
- Geoff (10/5): - The price was very affordable and the service was fantastic
- Christine (8/5): - All in all, our stay at Browns Plains Hotel was enjoyable. The dining room was closed due to work being done, but good enjoyable meals were still available in the sports lounge.
The only thing I would mention is the parking outside the motel rooms was limited.
- Sharna (8/5): - I know you are doing renovations but to find the office at 10pm was very difficult.
- Cathy (2/5): - recenty done up rooms, the toiltroll holder broken, toilet seat not attached properly, front cover fell off the vanity, the cold water tap fell off and not all the PowerPoints worked.
- Keenen (2/5): - unsafe area. no running water...
- Darryl (6/5): - Too noisy people partying next door
- Tee (10/5): - Awesome stau
- Nick (8/5): - Man at reception was rude. Rooms are nice and renovated, awesome that they have a microwave and toaster too! Surrounding area is a bit of a let down though.
- Nathan squassoni (8/5): - Did its job. Room clean and comfortable.
- Craig (4/5): - never again
- graeme (2/5): - The room was clean bed was good but next door was noisy & light was coming in from shared door & in the shower room which the shower door was extremely hard to close or open.
- Sue (10/5): - Clean and tidy and did the job for the night
- Kristin (10/5): - It is close to shops. Has great parking. Easy access to public transport.
- Alexander (8/5): - Easy check-in, clean rooms with very good facilities, ample parking, good food at the pub.
