Guest Reviews
- Lyndsay (6/5): - Very basic but clean and comfortable.
- Andrew (8/5): - It was cheap, quiet, clean and no hassle.
- John M (4/5): Don't Stay Here !! - On arrival we were welcomed to a sign on the door advising us of our room number and that the key was inside the room. I tried to phone the number on the door and ring the doorbell which fell on deaf ears. After realising that they wrote Joshua on the door and not John we passed the laundry and found the dinning room closed and the door covered with black plastic. Then came the games room which was locked. On arrival to our room firstly the room looks exceptable, older but clean. Viewing the cupboards and finding two of everything we thought we were on to a winner until I opened the fridge to find one lonely glass.Reading through the guest book I find that we have Foxtel, great I thought until the channels listed didn't offer Foxtel. Oh well there is still the pool but wait you need to contact the manager for a code to enter the public pool.No manager or staff member seen throughout my entire stay. (3 Nights.) The barbecue had baked on food and stayed that way for my entire stay.
- Mawas (2/5): - Happy New Year Room 2 smells so bad I can't sleep lastnight im not happy for this room
- Damon (8/5): - Nice and Quiet, clean BBQ facilities, Pool table in games room, Access to a laned pool.
Clean, comfortable room.
5 Minute walk to ANSTO visitor reception, so very convenient if you are attending a course there.
No meals available on site, Cafe next door for bfast and lunch.
- Mark (10/5): - Check in was easy , i thought it was a bit pricey but met my needs , i am thinking of booking one night next week
- Leah (8/5): - Great quiet out of the way spot to stay with everything you need just a short drive away.
- Christine (8/5): - All very good. Lovely staff
- Janet (6/5): - Everything was good except the water tasted terrible even after boiling for tea.
- Stuart (8/5): - Parking too far away from rooms
- Tony (10/5): - A really out of the way place, good sized room and really quiet. Good escape from busy traffic
- Roslyn (8/5): - Clean spacious room, quiet setting in bushland, great for overnight stay. Cafe located within the grounds (Mon-Fri) which is nice & convenient.
- Don (10/5): - Suited our need perfectly
- Wendy (8/5): - All good.
- Paul (6/5): - It wa a reasonably priced room in and easily accessable area. There was no open cafes nearby but it served my purposes
- P (10/5): My favourite hotel in Sydney - Always like the peace and quiet here. Very clean and the Manager David is always very helpful.
- Chandra (4/5): - Just very poor in comparison to other motels. Food outlets 10km. Nothing on site like a vending machine.
- Paul (10/5): Very nice quiet motel set in lovely grounds - Loved the area and I found the room very well cleaned, well air-conditioned and equipped. I arrived slightly after office hours and David was excellent in responding immediately to my phone call which concerned swimming pool access. Grounds also great. I found David's Mother cleaning the rooms in the morning and she was equally welcoming and friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 1 night - Very easy checkin and check out.
- Seth (10/5): - Great motel
- Pamela (4/5): - It smelled really bad, like mold
- Ian (6/5): - This property has gone downhill, and the price has nearly doubled since we 1st stayed here.
There was a lot of black mould in the bathroom. It was awkward to get into the shower. The opening was too small. The towel rail collapsed when I attempted to place a towel on it. The toilet seat would not stay up.
On the plus side is the longbench, which holds a lot of stuff. This motel is conveniently located, very quiet, and has a Cafe open during the week for breakfasts and lunch. There are also BBQ's and a large pool.
The beds were so LOW, it was awkward to get up from it.
- Linda (8/5): - The motel is in a convenient location.
Staff were friendly.
Bathroom could be a little cleaner but all in all it was very lovely stay.
- Cathy (6/5): - Shower was terrible, toilet seat was broken.
- Samantha (6/5): - Poor quality motel for the high price point.
Dirty shower and bathroom. No iron or ironing board.
- Rav (10/5): - Quite and clean
- Victoria (8/5): - Nice quiet area. Seeing a Black Cockatoo was a treat.
- Emma (6/5): - Perfectly acceptable, clean and well maintained. Quiet area.
- Doug (8/5): - The area was quiet but be aware that you cannot park near you room. There is s short walk from a car park to your room and vehicle security is a potential issue. You will need to drive some way to get dinner or breakfast.
- Christine (8/5): - .
- Bruce (6/5): - It was ok
- Brady (8/5): - Great secluded location, quiet, good layout.
- Cheryl (6/5): - The property is very dated and parking is approx 75m from the rooms which was an issue with my disabled husband and carrying luggage to the room. Basin hot water was very slow to heat, the soap dispenser didn’t work and we had no coffee. A bonus is that it is a very quiet location.
- Rhett (8/5): - The king bed was very comfortable, and the surroundings were certainly peaceful.
Bathroom, while functional, was in need of renovation. The wife noted that there was no hair dryer also.
- Ron (6/5): - The hotel is away form suburbia so it's quiet, parking and check in was easy. All rooms are ground floor, the buildings are dorm like with external entrances in a row. The buildings are quiet old however the room interior was OK and generally clean. However the room I had smelt of mould and the ceiling had mould stains in several places obviously caused from recent rains. I had a poor night's sleep from the odor of mould, this caused me some lung irritation. I would suggest this is a health risk for some people and I am glad I stayed just one night.
- Mark (8/5): - Well run accommodation
- Elizabeth (8/5): - We appreciated the comfortable room & bathroom. We missed having a microwave but found one in the games room. The beds were comfortable but the doona was very heavy & too hot. We eventually were given another blanket (the first was too small for the bed) & sleeping was much more comfortable. WiFi was only possible using my phone as a hot spot. We had fun playing darts in the games room. We found the motel a good place to stay supporting our family as they headed overseas from the international airport. It's a nice quiet environment & we enjoyed staying there. Had a walk around the perimeter of the property.
- Adam (10/5): - Not extravagant but very clean and comfortable
- Romeo (10/5): - Pleasant, basic accommodation which was clean and maintained. I'd certainly stay there again.
- john (6/5): - Quite location room and bed comfortable for what we needed.
Went to have a shower no towels, bath matt and hand towel..
- Peter (8/5): Clean and Tidy - Clean and tidy, very comfortable bed and pillows. Everything worked well, aircon, shower, etc. Also very quite location. Would stay again
- Tom (8/5): - Lovely and quiet
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location close to ANSTO
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was clean & tidy
- JEFFERY R (10/5): Handy spot - Nice, tidy, clean & would stay here again if needed. *The shower is not so good, designed for someone no taller than 120cm and the shower rose is rubbish
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a lovely Motel, it was very clean, warm and comfortable. They accommodated my late check in and check out with no difficulties. I was particularly pleased that they still offered in room tea and coffee amenities.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Quiet surroundings made for a good nights sleep
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We have stayed here a few times and enjoyed it. Sadly this time a very noisy party went into the small hours of the morning in the games room. As there is no on site manager it wasnt controlled. Disappointed but will us them again :)
- Francis (10/5): Good place to stay - Handy motel close to where I needed to be. Easy parking, clean good wifi secure. I would stay again.
- Rellie (8/5): - Friendly and clean, very quiet. Showing its age, but aren't we all! Always a good place to stay in The Shire
- Verified traveler (8/5): Easy and convenient motel - Staff were lovely and helpful, easy parking, room was clean with plenty of space and tea and coffee, pool was great. Good location within the Lucas Heights precinct just up from the cafe and education centre.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was clean and centrally located to where we needed to visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The motel was a pleasant surprise. Very clean comfortable and quiet.
- MARTIN (10/5): clean and friendly - family trip.
excellent location with friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the extra-large swimming pool where I could do laps
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Spotless rooms, very friendly, helpful reception. Peaceful environment.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice quiet stay. Clean and pleasant surroundings.
Will definitely come back again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, quiet, centrally located.
Friendly and helpful manager.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Kerrie is really nice, warm and welcoming.
The toilet cistern was needing repair, constantly self flushing all night. The bed was a great size, but very hard. Even though the room was designated non smoking, the proximity to a designated smoking area meant cigarette smells being blown into the room everytime the door opened. Not the worse we've stayed in but not the best either.
- Noal (10/5): A Great night's stay - Chose location as it was close to final destination, I knew of the location but had never stayed there. From our arrival to the check out all was excellent and if we had needed to do any laundry there is one conveniently located on site. The added bonus of AFP patrols made us feel so safe. We will be back whenever we need to go to Sydney.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean & the bed quite nice. The only problem we had was that there was no tea towel to wipe up the dishes & on a minor scope no biscuits to have with our coffee.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property is pretty old (I would say 1950's), but it was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a single night.
- Kris (10/5): - Stay here when we are up that way. Lovely little Motel with Super clean rooms and Super friendly staff..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Value for money the best place to say in Sydney will stay again if in the Nambour hood
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It's a very clean and functional motel. Perfect for brief stays in the Sutherland shire
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Basic older style motel, but was clean and quiet with friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was nice and quite, the staff were excellent, a very enjoyable stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice big bed and a good desk for working.
Shower head a bit too low for taller people
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff and nice quiet location. Good facilities
- Kathryn (4/5): Below par - It was Xmas, but there was NO service whatsoever. It is very low level accommodation. The complementary coffee was disgusting. The plumbing was very noisy, as was the fridge in my room.
I stayed there because of its proximity to my family, but next time, I will just sleep on the floor at their place....more comfortable than the motel!!
- Robyn (8/5): - The hotel was close to where we needed to be early next morning...
- Jenni (8/5): - Clean and very comfortable with a HUGE bed. Quite and peaceful location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean, everything needed included with WiFi, tea/coffee, TV and king sized bed. Buzz to see staff, otherwise you kist collect the key yourself. Games room and pool. Nothing super new and fancy, but very well kept and everything in good condition, stress free.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel was nice shame nowhere to eat as per information re restaurant available this only open for functions now. It is a drive back to get food to eat and as arriving late pre order for breakfast closed at 7.30pm....Need to order by 2.30pm on day of arrival...
Other than that nice area quiet and peaceful. Staff very friendly.
- Peter (8/5): - Very comfortable and convenient location.
- Frank (6/5): - No problems with motel, but we didn’t see anyone. Paid on line, note on reception door and keys in nominated room. No evening meal facilities close, but a good breakfast in ANSTO restaurant which closes at 5.00PM. At night we were only car in sight and no one else staying in motel. On leaving, still no reception. Accommodation v/good but whole episode a bit weird.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Motel in the Bush near Nuclear Reactor - Motel was clean and tidy, without meal outlets. Guests need to bring their own food or travel some K's to source food. Facilities on site are pretty basic but clean. Reception Staff seemed afraid of intruders, by keeping access door to Reception locked during normal working hours with Staff locked inside, very unusual.
Enjoyed the peacefulness of the site.
Other Guests had brought their own Bacon/Eggs/Rolls for a BBQ breakfast which they shared with us. Otherwise we would have had to seek breakfast a fair distance away.
- Stephen (10/5): Quiet - Very nice. Welcoming reception.
- Francis (10/5): Handy motel - Handy motel to southern areas of Sydney. I would certainly stay again.
- Alison (8/5): Comfortable bed, nicely decorated, very quiet. - Nice room with comfortable bed. Had toaster and microwave which is handy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel, great value for money, clean and tidy.Staff were very friendly.
- Stephen (10/5): Great place to stay. - Clean facility and good place to stay. Air conditioning unit needs to be sterilised. I got a throat infection after using it at night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not really child friendl. Bit disappointe. - Wasn’t really child friendly no dining options too tv was limited. Not really recommended for families or children staying. Otherwise ok.
- Steven (10/5): Great stay for tired travellers - Very comfortable and clean, great bed, good eats nearby Menai, especially the Thai restaurant
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great comfortable atmosphere, that suited us perfectly. Definitely recommend this place.
- Russ (4/5): - Floor boards creaked (badly) near the bed. Even though its supposed to be a secure car-park your car is still fifty meters away from your room. No trolley (for old people) to cart your bags from your car to your room. To contact reception you must ring for assistance. The room was nice and clean. The reception lady was very friendly. Its a quiet area no traffic noise. I would like to have given the Motel a higher rating but it does have its faults. 'Oh' and no microwave in the room only in the games room. Cheers
- Walter (8/5): Comfy, and Quiet - It was just an over nighter, We found the Motel to be comfortable, quiet, and clean. And great location for what we wanted.
- Ros (8/5): - A little old fashioned but suited our purpose very nicely. Comfortable and quite with excellent swimming pool . A little out of the way on a weekend
- mullows (6/5): Nice and charming - It is a basic hotel but very quiet and comfortable. I had a great nights sleep
- David (8/5): Very quiet pleasant staff - We arrived late but found a welcoming note and key. Everything nice and clean and crisp. Would liked to have stayed longer to explore the resort style facilites including the large pool. Very quiet. Only odd thing was the lack of microwave and toiletries
- Ann (8/5): Good location close to the Sutherland Shire - Very quiet motel, close to family and friends. Located in quiet bushland setting, BBQ facilities provided and a huge swimming pool
- Ann (10/5): Bush motel and Discovery Centre - Basic motel very clean and well maintained. In a bush setting
- joyce (8/5): Excellent one night stay - Arrived about 6:30 pm and although reception not manned, our room was ready and easy to find. Ccmfortable, clean room with everything we needed for overnight stay. Pleasant quiet location among the gumtrees.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - I find this a very clean motel and Kerry the manager makes everything so easy , love her! Will continue to stay there
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unexpected - A little place in a peaceful setting. Welcoming staff. Clean room with comfy bed.

- Bronwyn (10/5): Nice hotel - very quiet - Lucas Heights Hotel was a great experience. It was very quiet, confirtable & clean. Will definitely stay there again next time we are in Sydney
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My stay at the Lucas Motel heights was positive. I can definitely recommend it.
- Liz (8/5): Great room - we booked the twin room. the beds were comfortable, the room clean, and the hotel facilitated our late check in. the bathroom is a bit dated, but that doesn't impact the stay.
- Dianne G (8/5): Our stay at Lucas Heights Motel - Very conveniently located to Sutherland. Fire alarm went off at 2.30am and evacuation was extremley well coordinated by resident manager. Would stay here again.
