- Robert (4/5): Very disappointing, the motels current facilities are nothing like those shown on their website. - Friendly reception staff, good location as it's very close to CBD and dining options. New owner has closed the motels restaurant permanently, stopped breakfasts being served to the rooms, cancelled the Foxtel service and disconnected the phones in all rooms so you can't even contact reception. All of theses cancelled services and facilities are still being advertised on the motels website, which is very misleading. Overall, a disappointing experience so we won't be staying here again on any future trips to Mount Isa.

- Guohe (9/5): - In January 2026, we got stuck in Mount Isa City by the major flooding occurring at the Flinders River and Cloncurry River catchments, with some river levels reaching just below the 2019 level. John and Kathy at Spinifex Motel rendered cheerful hospitality, helpful flooding and detour advice during our extended stay.

The room was exceptional clean spacey and well equipped. We stayed an extra night. Staff were very helpful & pleasant. Highly recommend anyone to stay here.
