Guest Reviews
- Mellissa (8/5): - Clean and comfortable There wasn't anything I didn't like
- Annette (8/5): -
- Maxine (8/5): - Location was good. Villa was quite roomy and was very clean . The only thing was a little road noise from passing traffic. Only a couple of minor things.
No thongs or no egg flipper.
- morgan (1/5): Clean but very outdated. Strong sewage smell that made cabin uninhabitable-overall not as advertised - N/A The cabin had horrendous sewerage fumes coming up through the drains, cabin was uninhabitable, was moved to a motel style room much smaller but at least no smell, would have gone elsewhere had there been any other accommodation available
- Caroline (10/5): -
- Rachel (2/5): - The location The check in procedure was poor, there was no key left out for us. Problem with the payment being made, and told i needed to call booking.com to fix it. Not 1 staff member called me beforehand to let me know,so I could of fixed the problem asap.
Room was not entirely ready, missing towels and sheets to make up sofa bed. Sofa bed was unfit to sleep on,mattress stained,a cockaroach ran out from mattress when i unfolded it. Had not been cleaned underneath so filthy when I pulled it out.
Not happy with it at all.
Only thing that was good was the location.

And I slept well. I didn't like my neighbour smoking cigarettes . 🤮
- Leo (1/5): Blij dat ik weg ben.niet booking.com waardig. - Gen hygiene,zeer slecht.
Keuken totaal versleten
Rottend vlees in de ijskast. Alles renoveren.

- aisha (8/5): I will be booking a motel room again next time - Perfect location comfortable clean room A+
- Dave (1/5): - Zero The fact that they let lowies fix their bike in the middle of all the rooms at midnight, making as much noise as they can not considering any other residents ready to steal stuff from the community. The toilets and showers were dirty.
Never stay here unless you want to be mugged or wanna score.
- Julie (9/5): It was a pleasant stay. The only thing that would have completed my stay if there has been a kettle - The room was clean and bed was comfy . The room was quiet so I could do my writing. It would have been wonderful if the budget rooms had a kettle a cup in room to make a cuppa when I arrived..
- Douglas (1/5): Nothing worked -
- Lizi (6/5): - The pool was fantastic room was clean and spacious My child was chased and nearly attacked by a dog that was at the park. Never saw any staff during our stay

Room very very basic
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Jaimylee (10/5): -
- Katherine (5/5): Okay if you need somewhere for the night - Holiday park was located close to Cardwell and was perfect for what we needed - just a place to stay for the night. Kitchenette was handy to warm up dinner and make tea and coffee. The room was expensive, the bathroom door didn’t shut properly and there were ants and cockroaches in the room.
- David (1/5): -
- Rollbusch` (3/5): -
- Ross (7/5): Comfortable stay in clean unit - Motel units are self contained. Quiet location close to beach. Stove top for cooking rather than portable unit
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Viv (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (7/5): Good -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (1/5): DO NOT BOOK HERE - I booked in for a quick stay to break up my drive. I arrived in the evening, the 'room' was actually a very run down 'donger' it felt completely unsafe and immediately returned the key to the safe and left. This is NOT a place I would recommend anyone to stay. I didn't fee safe even leaving my car in the carpark. There was a old mattress and old fridge propped up outside the room. The common area was filled with rubbish, empty food cans etc. Unsafe and not suitable at all. This is the worst place I have ever seen. I asked for a refund as I left immediately and was flatly refused.
- Lyell (4/5): Disappointing -
- Bridie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allan (2/5): Left this place early next morning to escape the surroundings. - Enough Towel Rails in Bathroom. Nothing else. Pillows had expiry dates for 2021 and should be discarded. Missing blind. Filthy Fridge. Had to wash cutlery, crockery and all other kitchen equipment. TV had to hold antenna connection wire to operate.
We were given a Wifi Password but it did not connect. Poorly kept grounds. People living in derelict caravans around us.
We booked a Deluxe Queen Studio Unit (pre paid) but were given a down market cabin. On complaining we were upgraded to a Villa (see the above comments).
Paid more for this than a superior Hotel room in Mackay!
On arrival we felt uneasy and felt the place should be bulldozed, and thought we had come to the wrong place. No message texted to advise room check in.
- Alan (1/5): So bitterly disappointed we cancelled our booking on arrival! - Very little. On arrival I cancelled this booking straight away and requested an immediate refund (but to no avail!). Booking.com said no payment until arrival and this was not true either. Bitterly disappointed!! I will never use booking.com again or trust its information. I requested a refund through booking.com and they too have not refunded me.
- Janet (7/5): Good -
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Norman (5/5): Passable -
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Neal (7/5): Good -
- Jenny (5/5): Cheap and not so cheery - Fella at reception was not friendly - we booked after hours, the booking process was not easy or consistent, we booked via booking.com Beds are horrible, thought they were going to collapse on us. Pillows were almost not existent they were so thin
- Keith (2/5): Don’t do it - Nothing
Wont stay again All facilities are not what the pictures show
Camp kitchen had all the BBQs out of service
Would not swim in the pool
- Anna (1/5): Bad -
- Iain (3/5): Wouldn’t book again. - Location is great. Straight across from the beach. Pool water was dirty, cloudy and couldn’t see through it. Room was dirty, bed sheets were mouldy. Outdoor area was a mess. Didn’t look like the place had been cleaned in a long time.
- Ssndra (8/5): It served our purpose - Where it was situated Nothing
- Wisdom (7/5): Good -
- Cody (1/5): Bad -
- Janelle (5/5): Disappointed - The pool was disgusting, hot time of the year, told them we were coming with 4 kids and arrived to find the pool closed and filthy
no warning, kids very disappointed
- Andrea (4/5): Disappointing -
- Andrea (4/5): We feel that compared to previous stay, the place seems run down… we do - Location Pool not working, rooms in need of thorough clean, kitchen crockery and cupboards not clean and missing
- Alisa (9/5): Always a pleasure to stay here. - Location was great. The main bed wasn’t comfortable and bowed in the middle. Really needs replacing.
- Rutledge (3/5): Poor -
- Marcia (8/5): Very good -
- Cindy (1/5): Bad - Even though booking had been confirmed etc. we get there and had wrong dates booked in. Room we was given stunk , it was dirty. We had to share bathroom which was dirty. No reception staff had to ring.
- Dickens (7/5): Good -
- Yule (8/5): Very good -
- Sharni (8/5): Budget accommodation, does the job - Does the job, as far as budget accommodation goes, has all the facilities you would anticipate. Booking process was confusing, thought I had paid with Booking.com as I put my card details in, then was informed I needed to pay over the phone with the Holiday Park. I should have read into it a little bit more, so I can't really fault anyone. I just thought it was confusing and not as smooth as other stays.
- Angela (10/5): Well presented, will rebook for our next travel. - The set-up was suitable for a mum and 2 kids. Clean and welcoming. NA
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (3/5): Poor -
- Simone (4/5): It was fair in price but the uncleanliness was disappointing. - It was quiet until first about 8am. The room was functional. The dirty tissue and plastic wrapper with food crumbs left on a shelf in the room. The toilet cubicles had thousands of insect wings on the floor but worst was one toilet had skid marks left in it so I went to the next one where there was several, large, dried urine spots on the toilet seat. I had to squat above the toilet to use it. The dried urine needed to be scrubbed off. There was no soap dispenser, filled with soap.
- Susan (1/5): Bad -
- Daniel (4/5): Disappointing - So basically it was a small room, with questionable cleanliness (there was a gum on the bed frame), and the facilities weren't clean at all either.
- Shmuel (9/5): Superb -
- Mal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Astrid (6/5): Good eventually but quite scary at the start as two women - do not budget too hard for this place, and spend the extra m - Staff were helpful and studio was very good. As two female travellers, I wouldn’t recommend the budget rooms at all. We arrived, greeted with leering men and all in all an unsafe vibe. The map was very difficult to use so we spent a while looking around which made us feel quite vulnerable with the onlookers. We got to our room which had an unstable to say the least lock, which was difficult to figure out. Even we were sure it was “locked”, you could still see out the bottom and side of the door. To their credit, we rang them up and asked to be upgraded which was hassle free and we were moved to a studio room which felt much safer as it was on the other side of the park with families and other women. The studio was lovely and we would recommend, lots of facilities and felt much safer. It felt very much like two different places on the budget vs studio side.
- Bj (5/5): Passable -
- Lance (8/5): Great little budget overnight stay. - Easy walk to cafes and eateries. Nice pool. Friendly staff. Clean amenities. Quiet, I could not hear any noise from the highway even though trucks were using it constantly. Nothing.
- Christopher (2/5): Very poor -
- Doug (9/5): great - Friendly staff, cold air-condition,trailer friendly leaving
- Lisa (4/5): Have always chosen kookaburra but won’t again. - Pool was out of action and according to locals it has been for around 6 months. Should have said that on the website. Two hot kids with me.
- Matt (3/5): Don’t think we’ll stay again - driving straight through next time. - Not much only that is was on the coast and along the way to our destination Room was really cramped especially the bathroom. As a tall person the bathroom was very uncomfortable. The air con was not cold even when turned to the lowest setting. The fridge stunk of seafood. TV had no signal whatsoever.
- Alan (1/5): The worst place we stayed at in the three weeks we were away - Nothing There was no starf
- Wayne (2/5): Very poor - The room was not clean. The furniture is all out dated and broken. Will never be back again.
- Dan (10/5): Wonderful overnight stay - Clean, easy to access, great customer service Nothing. Was perfect
- Rankin (4/5): Won't be back. - I was contacted by the Kookaburra Park the day of arrival and advised they couldn't process my credit card payment. I had already paid in full to Booking.com. The Park said they had not received my payment. When I arrived at the Kookaburra Park at 4 pm Reception was closed. There was no instruction provided via text, or email, as to how to gain access to the booked villa. I contacted the after hours phone and the advise indicated no record of my reservation or payment. They said they would allow me into a villa and sort out in the morning.
There seems to be issues between Booking.com and this establishment impacting on service, reliability and professionalism.
- Fulisia (1/5): Bad -

Beds are very comfortable
- Renae (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derek (5/5): Very basic - Relatively clean Too far on the low budget end. Would rather camp in a tent
