The only small improvement would be a more modern sink with a single mixer tap instead of two separate faucets. Apart from that, we felt very much at ease. - Puawai (8/5): - I loved how quiet the motel was, no noisy traffic or anything like that, very clean & comfortable facilities. Friendly staff who checked on me when I locked my keys in the car! I think amenities like the Tv, stovetop could use some work as there was only sky & there was Netflix but couldn’t get the wifi to work on the tv. The stovetop was a bit difficult to figure out so we went out for dinner instead.

- Caitlyn (8/5): Wairoa is a beautiful town and we really enjoyed our stay despite the terrible weather. - We booked the 2bdrm cottage and travelled from Rotorua. We were greeted by the owner, Mihirangi, who was friendly and informative. The cottage was large, private, comfortable and had everything our family of 4 needed for the 2 nights we stayed.

Great value for money. Not a don't like, but don't expect that a motel in rural nz is the same as a 5 star big city hotel! Byo hair-dryer.

- Blen (6/5): Pleasant - Although the beds, pillows, and towels are great, the bar soap is too tiny. I appreciate the white towels. Additionally, because the appliance unit is a two-in-one, the hot plates are positioned high, making it impossible for short people to cook.

- Emily (10/5): Great spot for soggy festival ditchers - We got rained off at rnv and planned a stay for the same night in the peak of holiday season. Hotel fully facilitated our initial plan to check in at 3am but we had a sulk and came back earlier which was also zero issue. Had the heatpump and electric blanket on ready for us and extra towels, laundry left open and somewhere to rinse the mud off our car. Even let us have a late checkout so we could recover before the rest of the big drive home. Room was toasty, clean and dry and so were we after a rather rough day. 3 very happy campers at the end of our sleep in, zero complaints whatsoever. Very comfy bed, sky tv with heaps of channels and a full kitchen which is a bonus.

The property is beautiful, the rooms are cozy and comfortable and clean and i cannot stress enough just how amazing the staff are. I absolutely will recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in Wairoa.

Out of date sky guide and no instructions for tv. Oven not clean. Air conditioner plug imbedded in hole in wall behind bed so not able to use. Room unbearably hot.

The motel is quite worn and the room could do with a good coat of paint and the ripped dining chair could do with a replacement plastic cover. On the plus side, the room and bedding was clean and quite spacious and it was a quiet location at night. Would we go back again ................. No, we would look for somewhere else.

- R J (6/5): A decent night's sleep - A good basic motel, if a little dated. Comfortable bed. Wairoa is not a great town although it is in a beautiful setting. Don't count in finding anywhere decent to eat out. The hotel has a pleasant little swimming pool.
- Ellen (8/5): Wairoa getaway - The room was good. Very clean. The internet was sketchy. Quiet place close to everything. Asked about a nice place to eat and recommended the Vista restaurant. He was quite right.
