Guest Reviews
- Imran (8/5): - We stayed for one night. The staff were very friendly. One of the rooms had a non-working AC, making it quite warm. The food, however, was excellent.
- Indiran (2/5): - Dirty room. No clean towels for the 2 days stay. Linen not changed
- Manu (2/5): - Aircon and lift was not working. Lack of ventilation
- Deborah (6/5): - This is an old establishment and could do with an update, but the room was comfortable and staff were very friendly.
- davide (8/5): - Staff members were very welcoming and helpful with any questions.
Parking was easy.
Beds were super comfortable.
Bistro had great options, quick service and nice eating facilities.
- Brian (10/5): - A1
- David (6/5): - The bed and linen was clean and comfortable. I had a small window which needed to be opened for fresh air. Faily old fridge with missing parts.im not sure why there were two cereal boxes provided and no milk to have them with.
- Barry (4/5): - This property has such potential but has been left in a state of disrepair. The place smells of damp and the rooms desperately need a deep clean and a facelift. The carpets are tired stained and dirty everywhere and need to be replaced. Its hard to not feel like the owners have given up or there is just not enough money for upkeep.
- Youngju (4/5): - Not avalible Wifi, Unkindness of staff.
- Jasmine (2/5): - We loved the character of the building. The staff were down to earth and friendly (bar area). The bed was comfy! the carpet is beyond its used by date. Its gross. The exterior door to the balcony has huge gaps and allows the road noise and cold to come in. The noise from the neighbouring room was not good. The owners have a BIG cleanup job for the building, the wet plaster in the ceiling showed that work is been done. Hope it doesnt get torn down, but probably be the cheaper option.
- Margaret (4/5): - Didn't like having to haul luggage upstairs. At 85yrs this was a struggle. Lift not working & establishment couldn't afford to replace it.
Extra blanket in cupboard was rotten & falling to bits. Liked complimentary breakfast. Bathroom was nice & roomy & modernised.
- Nola (8/5): - Stately old building starting to show its age. Lovely food in the Bistro and great lical gathering spot.
- George (10/5): - Good well located and clean. Quiet at night.
- RICHARD (10/5): - Great stay
- Diane (6/5): - Front door closed. No direction to get into hotel. Had to find someone to book in. No information for wifi connection. Lift still out of action.
- Lorraine (6/5): - It is a very old building but linen and bathroom clean
- Gisela (6/5): - Beds very comfortable . Food from the bistro very good value. Bar service friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking.
Over all place needs to be renovated. Will be a good place to stay if you need to be at new airport early and don't live in area that has easy public transport port to the area. eg: south coast.
- Hannah (2/5): - I booked a standard king for the night, the photos and description of the room is completely different then what we were given. The room was extremely tiny, not wheelchair accessible at all. We were given 1 bed and no sofa bed, no balcony, the fridge was turned off with milk inside, and the carpet was dirty. I’m disappointed with how this stay turned out.
- Liu (10/5): - In 4 nights that we stay there no room service at all i mean no cleaning or change the bed sheets or towel nothing at all for 4 nights
- Narelle (10/5): - The showerhead needs updating.
- Wayne (8/5): - A quiet, easily found country style hotel. Affordable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Mark (4/5): - I always request a room which isn't on the main road as it's very noisy throughout the night, however they continue to allocate a room which is facing Mulgoa Rd.
- Tom (2/5): - not impress with the hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): Wallacia Hotel accommodation - Oh my - the linens had blood on them from previous guests, the window sills were rotting and wood flakes falling into the bath, hair from previous guests on bath tub, paint flakes falling onto your head from the walls as you sleep, kitchen staff directly below banging pots and pans and shouting 12 hours a day, carpets putrid, lift not working
- Saminathan (6/5): - Noisy.
- Shayne (10/5): - For the price, two bedrooms and a lounge room with a fold out bed, can’t go wrong! Will be back for sure.
- Marylyn (8/5): - Clean bathroom.
- Simon (8/5): Great stay - Great location for getting around the Blue Mountains. Comfy room and nice clean sheets. Good stocked bar and great generous portions from the kitchen .
Down side the chair in the bedroom was disgusting, the fridge in the room was inside a cupboard which meant it was kicking out tons of hot air and freezing anything in the fridge. The air-conditioning did not appear to be working properly
- Karen (10/5): - Easy check in process. Friendly staff. GREAT FOOD!!!
The room was clean and the bed super comfy.
- Anthony (2/5): - Had to purchase our own linen it smelt really bad and we left early. Because we disnt want to stay the extra nights we booked. Really disappointed and definetly wont go back.
- Ralph (10/5): - Nice, quiet, peaceful place.
- Bassam (2/5): - dirty room and smell so bad left not working 2nd floor no water in the fridge and dirty boiler.
- Karen (6/5): - Room and bathroom needed repairs and are rundown and NO HOT WATER IN THE ROOM!!! When complained was told I didn’t let the water run long enough I feel 10 mins is long enough and the money that they charge is not good value
- Shannon (10/5): - Staff was amazing and the food
- Julian (4/5): - Wallacia Hotel was advertised with a lift upto rooms, on arrival we found out that the lift had not worked for more than 3 months. This made things very difficult for me as I have an injury to my lower back (wish I had known before I booked) - Carpets very dirty, and had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout the Hotel and upstairs.
We would not book to stay here again !!!
- Julie (10/5): - Location easy to get to. Friendly staff
- Voyage65651822763 (2/5): Filthy! Avoid at all costs. - Absolutely disgusting rooms. When we arrived the bin in the room was full, floss in the bathroom, and previous customers scrubbing glove on shower head. Cleaning is non-existent, all they did was throw the duvet over the bed, didn’t even tuck the sheets in. Lift was also out of order. Would not recommend at all.
- Julie (8/5): - Great rooms nice and quiet Great parking opinions
- Stephen (10/5): - Rented the double room
Wonderful size for 4 adults
- Gordon (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Mitchell (6/5): - No aircon , no fan, window didn’t stay open, shower leaked water into room, but was overall a good stay food was great and memories even greater
- Geraldine (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff and the accommodation was clean and satisfactory.
- Karen (4/5): - Have stayed here many times and no problems…this time was given a twin room which I did NOT ask for when I booked on the website. I was given a choice to pick what type of room I wanted. The lady who checked us in knew that I was there with my partner and we always get a queen room why did the lady checking us in not tell us that it was a twin room? Also the carpet in the room was safe as it had lifted as you walked in the door and I stumbled on it and was lucky my partner stopped me from falling
- Chris (10/5): - Rooms themselves, were clean and neat. Very secure, TV and air con were excellent. Lift wasn’t functional. The pizza for lunch was very nice. The pub is dated and not very tidy. Staff were pretty good. I wouldn’t leave anything in your car overnight.
- Len (8/5): - For the age of the property, we found the room was excellent, clean, and enjoyable. would certainly stay again.
the exterior of the building requires extensive renovations.
- Pradip (6/5): - You get what you pay for.
- Annette (10/5): - Always clean and beds are comfortable.. a regular stop for me on my way through. Food at the bistro is great too.
- Haroldo (6/5): What to expect in a country side area? - The booked room had noisy AC. 2 days later manager was able to accommodate us in another room with silent AC. Staff is good, location is 1 hour from Sydney, and hotel needs serious renovation, including carpets and elevator. After all it was a reasonable staying in nice country side area with good restaurant options.
- Chantel (10/5): - A very lovely heritage hotel nestled at the base of the Blue Mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wallacia Hotel - lovely staff, nice dining down stairs and rooms with wonderful views. About a hour’s drive from the hustle and bustle of Sydney CBD. Thanks Wallacia Hotel team, we’ll be back again!
- julie (2/5): - The whole property is in need of a renovation and there is no reception for the hotel , can’t access the front door of the property have to walk all the way around the back. Lift didn’t work don’t think it has worked for a good while . Absolutely no wheelchair access to the anything. It’s a shambles basically.
- Connor (4/5): - The carpet was noticeably dirty which was a bit of turn off but the bed was comfortable and clean. They have massive flood lights that shine on the front of the property and into the room which means it's hard to sleep. There are better places out there for less money.
- PerryB137 (8/5): Tudor style fun in the country! - My friends and I had a very good time here. We found both the standards of the accommodation and the victuals more than satisfactory. There were a great many pristine white towels and bounteous hot water in the rooms.
- Roslyn (8/5): Rustic Charm - Sadly a bit run down but still a beautiful building in a scenic location. Request a balcony room and you'll have lovely views towards Warragamba Dam, & a bit more space to relax. Rooms are adequately sized and clean with wonderfully comfortable beds, made with fresh white linen. The lively clientele downstairs can't be heard from your room but neighbouring guests can potentially prevent that much-needed sleep-in. Enjoy a drink and/or meal downstairs, where they have a great kids' area, or explore the local restaurants. We enjoyed dinner at the Workers Hubertus Club (they have a courtesy bus) & fabulous coffee/brunch at Gemma-Lee's Cafe.
- Beverley (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were well set up and clean.
- Laura (8/5): - .
- George (6/5): - No fan in windowless bathroom and no rubber on showerscreen which created flooding
- John (4/5): - Room very dirty. Staff walking into room at anytime. Very noisy.
- Janine (2/5): - Broken amenities in room. Loud bands playing nightly till 12pm not able to sleep. No housekeeping as stated so had to but own supplies and no clean linen. Linen is all stained ,room also dirty. No reception or person to help in accommodation area, only bar staff. Do not stay here
- Takahiro (4/5): - The photos looked nicer than it was. Carpets stained and dirty, some of the light switches were broken.
- Geoffrey (8/5): - Very clean, comfortable and convenient location
- Jennifer (8/5): - This was
- Maree (10/5): - It's a lovely place . Takes you back to the grand old houses of days gone by.
- Hayley (8/5): - The property is clean and the staff were lovely. Very helpful with getting a folding bed for my son when it wasn't in the room on arrival.
It was a bit confusing to find the accomodation entry and the building is looking tired.
We didn't attend the bar or food options, but they looked to be fresh, clean and popular with the locals.
- Sharon (4/5): - Wallacia Hotel is a tired old lady in need of a facelift
- Warren (2/5): - Not clean, not what ad said. Mountain view room…. If you stood on the bed maybe see something out the tiny window. Should be classed as hostel dorm
- Gregory (10/5): - They need a sign on the front door to tell guests to go around the back and check in at the bar. The front door is locked.
- Nathan (10/5): - No dislikes for this establishment, rooms were good, staff were friendly snd helpfull
- Helen (10/5): - The accommodation and food was excellent.
- Kerri and Kingsley (6/5): - Staff were great but we had a room right on the main road which was extremely noisy so no sleep for the three nights we stayed - horrendous!!
- alyssa_181993 (10/5): Absolutely Stunning Hidden Gem - This stunning little gem, absolutely Gorgeous inside and out. The beautiful outdoor dining is rustic and charming. The Staff are all beautiful people who go above and beyond for their customers ❤️ we had the pleasure of staying in one of their rooms and they're so cute! Especially for a pub room! Would definitely go there again when we are in the area next!
- Jan (10/5): - Lovely having a bath tub in the room.
- Ben (2/5): - This place is a complete hole!
The manager was rude and arrogant.
They allow smoking inside so the room was always smokey and being right on a roundabout on mulgoa rd it was noisy all night.
- Sangeetha (10/5): - The property is very clean and staffs are helpful.
- Kristy (10/5): - Our family really enjoyed our stay. Having 2 children 3 and under, the 2 bedroom room was great.
- Arlene (6/5): - The hotel is a fabulous 1930 style grand old lady. I expect the main business income isn’t from the hotel as it has a big TAB and country pub feel, currently undergoing renovations in the pub over next year.
The kitchen was excellent pub grub with an extensive menu, and open till 9.
Staff were friendly and helpful both in the night and following morning. You can see the attempts to upgrade to bedroom area, it has been modernised with good securityThe carpet in corridors have seen better days.
If you’re not too fussy about bright shiny new looking , at an attractive room rate then the location is a good central start to a hawkesbury holiday. The road to Wallacia is undergoing upgrade so expect lengthy roadworks.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was convenient to our function. Breakfast was okay. Quiet for a pub on Saturday night. Some confusion with our rooms and the cost.
- Mickey (10/5): - love the bar
bit pricey compared
- Richard (2/5): - On arrival both rooms had not been cleaned. The entire hotel was disgusting.
- Shaun (4/5): - Hottest room I have stayed in. Aircon was so so bad I was lucky to sleep. It was like an oven. Shower leaked every time you showered and ran all over the carpet. Poor oversite on behalf of maintenance. 2 nights sleep was about 4 hours a night. I suggest we check room before hiring out again
- Carolyn (8/5): - The rooms were satisfactory & the food at the bistro was excellent whether you were ordering snacks or eating breakfast
- Kerry (8/5): - Room was clean & tidy & comfortable didn’t need much more
- Hans (8/5): - It was pleasant, clean, convenient and had a lot of character
- Sue (2/5): - In 1st room air conditioning not working. 2nd room power went out at 5am and one of the guests were over 70 and needs a sleep apnea machine to regulate his breathing and with no power this wasn't possible and also no hot water in the shower
- Julie (2/5): - Went there for a function room was not ready for us manager that was on had no idea what her was doing ! He did not want to help us at all. Every time we asked him something the said I don’t know he had no idea what was going on and happy not too I would not recommend this place to anyone level of service THERE IS NONE they should be ashamed. I highly recommend no one book function there as you will be very disappointed
- Shuk Nga (8/5): Great value - Very helpful and friendly staff
- 537seannar (2/5): I HATE IT - no no no no no no no no no no no no!!!!!!!! never going again!!! it was absolutely rude and I hate it and I went hungry and they took 5 hours to bring my food and then I heard cats meowing and people fighting also they locked my door and someone walked in on me naked and I had no bra on it was super awkward
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property itself was great for a night’s stay. Unfortunately we were there on the day the lockdowns were announced in Greater Sydney from 6pm. As we had travelled for an event at the venue (which had to be cancelled last minute), we had no choice but to stay there as we could not get home that night.
The staff handled it as best they could, we handled it as best we could. No one’s fault and I am sure if we get the opportunity to visit again it will be a more pleasant and fun experience rather than a lonely (and somewhat creepy!) experience of being locked down alone in a hotel at 6pm!
Given the situation the staff handled it well and were as helpful as possible. I think in normal circumstances we would have had an absolutely fabulous stay :-) hopefully one day we can come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed three nights clean rooms. Great beds and helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location to venue we needed to be at.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely place but needs maitance on the out side .
No toaster in room also no iron for pressing clothes ,had to go down stairs to laundryroom.
Shower leaked and rotting door trim and carpet.needs tobe repaired.
Lift was out and all had to use stairs.
Staff where very lpeasent and helpful.
Had luch and was very appertising.
- Wallacia (6/5): - The hand basin in our room would not empty and we reported it but nothing was done.
- Ant (4/5): - Check in process was not great - staff were unable to locate the payment through wotif and wanted to charge again. Air conditioning unit had a very loud whine which was impossible to sleep with. Cleanliness was poor. Shower was leaking, which was rotting the door frame.
- Ana cristina (8/5): PERFECT GETAWAY - Perfect getaway. Lots to see and do around the area. Room was modern and clean . Locals are chatty and respectful. its a bewdy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was great! Very helpful! The convenience of having the rooms right there was great
- Queensland29 (8/5): Delightful old Tudor pub with comfort and easy access to SIEC - I recently stayed at the Wallacia Hotel while attending the Australian National Dressage Championships. It is located only 20 mins away. Very clean and cozy pub with excellent food. Do yourself a favour pay them a visit.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - 2 pillows didn’t have pillow cases on them. Music vibrates the entire room. Can hear a conversation in the hallway clear as day. Hallway light did not work. Has mugs and kettle for coffee but no spoon or stick to mix with. Was heavily questioned on arrival if I had paid or not when I had. Carpet was dirty. Hairdryer hangs over sink and has a tag on it saying it is over due for testing. Save yourself being ripped off for the night and drive a little bit further to stay somewhere else. Got back to the hotel after an engagement party and honestly considered driving 3 hours to go home instead of staying where I had paid for.
- Annette (8/5): - no remote control , all good , cleanliness was good , nice view , easy parking , check in staff were helpful
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bedding was fresh, clean, crisp and very comfortable. Pub food was bordering on awful. (We were there for the Thursday night all-you-can eat buffet.) We had the two bedroom room. Electrical circuitry was puzzling - lights for the living room and one bedroom came on with the same switch. There was a tv in one bedroom but none in the living room or the other bedroom. Bed was comfortable, which is a pretty important feature.
- Kellie (8/5): Wallacia Hotel - Historical Hotel Stay - Wallacia Hotel is a lovely old building which has lots of character. Our king room was very spacious & clean & the beds were comfortable & warm. Breakfast (cereal) was included which was a nice extra. Our only concern with our stay, was that there was a couple of electrical issues in our room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely historical pub in a superb location. Rooms renovated nicely. Beds comfortable
