- Lynette (1/5): - Horrible Aweful
- Tactiles (1/5): Place needs to close to renovate - Zero. Run down!! Patched wall inside the room with the gyprock not plastered and not painted. Paint peeling off the architraves.
- Veronie (8/5): Enjoyed the night there. Close to Servo and take away food. - The room was very clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Signage on the highway needs to be made more visible at night.
- stephen (5/5): - The bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in
- Jason (1/5): Had bites all over us from the bed, really bad smell inside. - Every thing, would not recommend to anyone
- Guest (8/5): -
- Steven (2/5): Unacceptable- smell, no towels, hot water very slow to come through, generally run down appearance - No towels, room smelly took ages to get hot water
- Colleen (8/5): It was all right apart from trucks - There was no breakfeast Breakfeast

- Diego (1/5): -
- Charmian (1/5): -
- Michael (7/5): clean neat and tidy - old fashioned - clean neat and tidy
could be renovated to make bedding a bit more modern
bed comfortable outdated
- Col & Louise (1/5): A tent may have been better, certainly not worth half the money paid. Very disappointed! - Location was good but that's about it. Noisy, dirty & mildewed A/C unit, matress should have been throw away years ago, sink leaked onto the floor, shower has only 2 out of 3 panels in the door, towels are worn out, cobwebs on the cornices. The tiles bathroom floor section is only clean near the door, the rest need a really good scub. Light power failed on the second night & only had the light from the bed lamp. The bottom of the cupboard under the fridge is rotten and falling apart.
No Staff available at 6pm on a friday night and phone call only receive an answering machine message tell me to ring the number I had called. Heavy hedging out the front makes it hard to find and block view back onto the highway.
The photograph on you web page must be 20 years old, the place looks like it is about ready for demolition.
The pool is close and is green
- Adam (5/5): - Location privacy Outdated rooms
- Lyn (1/5): Gob smacked ! We will not be back ! Please read reviews before booking - I have learnt my mistake. - Not much at all No staff & reception was locked. Made 5 calls to try & access information on room, went to voicemail. They finally sent me SMS with details. The motel at the front looks like it is deserted/or maybe it should be demolished. No one has swept outside the rooms in months. 36C and find the pool green with a closed sign on the gate. Shower and the soap dispensers are broken. I dont know how they can run a business with no contact at all! The place should be shut down!!!
- Shiva (2/5): Poor - Holes in the ceiling in the bathroom dust behind the beds, hot water barely works and ants crawling everywhere.
- Ken (3/5): -
- Rodney (6/5): - quiet location no toilet paper and the aircon didnt work propperly
- Rhyss (5/5): - Could of been cleaner
- Trudy (10/5): - Ease of check in, very clean Was a bit outdated, didn't match the photos, but for the price that is what you get and that's fine
- Suzie (1/5): - The photos were obviously taken a very long time ago.
This place was a nightmare.
I've taken many photos to show the filth in the room.
But do not know how to send to you.
- Gwendoline (4/5): - Sorry put this in the wrong box. What didnt i like.
The whole of the motel out front is needing repairs and dirty ,potholes in driveway the back untidy with rubble and the area between the back and front units was cluttered with items.the bedroom clean and tidy mattress and pillows poor.bathroom was in need of paint and a good scrub.we had no hot water.
I had realised i had stayed before and was not i.pressed then. I think it said pool .not sure where. Sorry did not take photos The lack of communication at the site was difficult as language was hard to understand and only via phone or the computerised entry which i had difficulty in doing.
- Gloria (5/5): - Bed was comfortable Fridge did not work. Bed not stable, kept rolling away from wall. Tap dripped all night
- Baustista (8/5): Good - Very good No
- Brock (6/5): -
- James (1/5): Shit never even going near the place again. - The place was outdated with little to no maintenance being carried out.It was also dirty.Nothing good to say about it at all. The whole place needs renovating,it looks and feels like it’s 1980.
- Lynda (6/5): Adequate to my needs - Clean spacious. Close to everything I needed. bed was a little old & saggy.
- Fergus (1/5): Run down and cold shower - Shower took 30 minutes to warm up
- Elizabeth (1/5): - There was no hot water in the shower no running water in the hand basin no complimentary milk had to buy water to make a cup of coffee. And the room had an unpleasant odour. I won’t be staying there again. It was awful
- Heath (5/5): - The beds were comfy The room could have been cleaner, the bathroom could’ve been cleaner.
The pip underneath the sink was leaking, and the shower was a mist that wet the whole bathroom and bedroom area.
- Jason (3/5): -
- IAN (1/5): Horrible - nothing Everything the rooms are dirty and need a lot of work
- James (6/5): Decent for a budget overnight stay. - Affordable Hot water was abit dicky, and pillows over soft.
- John (3/5): Cheap & nasty but clean - Cheap & available. Everything else was booked out Old & run down
- John (6/5): -
- Jaco (4/5): Not what I expected - Location and price were good. The hotel room was clean, but quite dated.
- Matt (6/5): -
- Wendy (5/5): The rooms were a little cramped, but the beds were comfortable enough for a good sleep. - The location was great. Easy to find and staff were friendly and helpful. The motel was very quiet and you could barely hear the traffic on the highway once in your rooms. Rooms were a bit cramped, but clean. Doors didn't lock, so we had to use the chain lock. The water in bathroom sink didn't work. Shower worked but took a while to heat up, but had great water pressure.
Television remotes didn't work and couldn't switch channels and change the volumes.
- Christine (1/5): Horrible. - Nothing. Everything. Smelt, dirty, air con not working on a 40 degree day, unkept. I drove in and drove straight out.
- Rory (10/5): -
- Matt (1/5): - Nothing Everything
- John (1/5): Would not recommend it to anyone - Nothing Close to Highway. So old and run down.
- Annegret (5/5): - convenience during travelling
- Ajith (1/5): - Worst accomodation and didn’t make the bed and found hairs on the bed and got pictures with me. Staff helped me to get a new bed sheet to replace the sheet and vacate the room in 2 hrs as I was not comfortable Booking.com
- Talia (4/5): -
- Julie (1/5): would never recommend - Not one thing. Motel very run down. Scone was booked out and I needed a room. The room was dirty. The pillow cases had someones hair on them
- Sergei Iagunkov (6/5): Just a normal stay overnight - Just normal stay overnight The room had a new chairs that were poor assembled and were unstable. Our youngest even fell off from one.
- Dominique (8/5): -
- April (2/5): I wouldn't book here unless u are big guy who can handle yourself that's the vibes it gives - The located The room was too small no room to move the space looked like it was straight off a horror film the pool and pictures were NOTHING like the motel I had to book and pay for another place for my mum and family to stay as it was so bad
- Sergei Iagunkov (7/5): Just ordinary stay - Just normal stay, nothing to specifically mention
- Yeark (3/5): - Its nothing like in the photos yuk and no pool
- Rodney (9/5): - Easy check-in process, with a door code, sent as a text (except I forgot to charge my phone and had to ask the lady for my code). Had everything I needed. In a good location, but almost missed the entryway. The outside could benefit from a coat of paint and a bit of a freshen up, but didn't affect the quality of my stay, because the room itself was fine.
- Kae (4/5): You get what you pay for stay one night only - It wasn’t as bad as the reviews. Sad looking and ran down place but was clean. You get what you pay for. Then entryway is not well signed.
- Gayle (8/5): - Perfect location for Great Cattle Dog Muster
- Heath (8/5): - Great little place to stay if passing through. Nothing flash, but good value for money
- ROSALIND (1/5): I definitely won’t be going back and I don’t recommend this motel - Nothing , was hoping to have a great time only to be very disappointed The pool was dirty
The staff were rude and accused me of stealing there wallets and when they verified it wasn’t me,, there was No apologies of any kind from the staff nor the manager
- Reardon (3/5): We survived ! - It was available when we booked It didn’t feel safe. The plumbing was bad with constantly leaking taps and wet bathroom floor and the electrical side was a worry with a constant ticking sound like a timer. Holes in the curtains, broken tiles, outside the chair collapsed and MAINLY the code to get in was difficult and there were NO staff when we arrived !!!!!
- vanessa (9/5): Calm and quiet - Everything was very calm and quiet The pool was not in operation and it looked like it had been out of service for a long time
- Sandra (1/5): Worst place ever to stay in Muswellbrook - Nothing, it was horrible It was nothing like you described on your website. The place looked abandoned. The room was musty, like it hadn't been open in months, the gate to the pool was padlocked, and the pool was filthy. The air conditioner didn't work properly either.
- Katrina (1/5): -
- kelly (3/5): -
- kelly (3/5): -
- kelly (3/5): -
- Pamela (8/5): -
- Maureen (3/5): Extremely disappolinting - The young woman on reception was pleasant and helpful. As best I could tell the room appeared to clean. The place is in dire need of some TLC, a tidy up externally and renovations internally. The tiles in the shower had chunks out of them and the vanity leaked onto the floor
- Georgina (3/5): Not nice place. - Nothing Old style room. Musky smell. Shower had no power. Bed was uncomfortable. Door wouldn’t lock properly.
- Harry (8/5): -
- Christine (5/5): - Location Beds where uncomfortable...single bed hard as a rock.
- Stephen (7/5): -
- Warren (7/5): -
- Kraig (5/5): -
- Brian (5/5): -
- Guy (1/5): Would not recommend to anyone. - Receptionist polite. The pictures on Booking.com have been enhanced to improve it from what it really looks like. Hotel roof over grown with vines, especially round the office. 3 rooms booked; 1 x room NO HOT WATER; moved to another room whereby the door wouldn't close. Rooms had black mould. Rooms looked like hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time. Rubbish thrown over fence near pool area. Pool area unsafe to enter yet alone swim. Suggest knock down and rebuild!
- Matthew (2/5): - We didn't end up staying, the room smelt of smoke (inconsiderate workers), there was some black mould on the ceiling in the bathroom and the state of the Motel out front is terrible.
We also booked here based on there being a pool. When we arrived we were told the pool no longer works!!! It looks like there is NO care or love from who ever is managing this place.
The person at reception was understanding about us wanting to cancel, she was the only great thing about the Wayfarer.
- Peter (5/5): Not the best accommodation. - over-rated premises and rather worn facilities. facilities need an upgrade and decor needs replacing
- Samantha (2/5): - Has a derilict, abandoned air. We actually thought the motel was abandoned at first and that we had the wrong address. The office is not manned at all, phonecalls not answered, after ringing out a message says the mailbox is full, all outdoor plants shown in the advertising photo were dead, left over rubbish from previous guests in the bin in the room, shower clogged and spitting water, microwave handle broken, shade cloth over pool torn and hanging down, towels threadbare, and air-conditioning hit and miss. Definitely would not recommend.
- Gemma (6/5): It was ok - Ease of location Large pot holes in driveway
- Gray (4/5): - staff pleasant & room stocked with what you needed Floor gritty, generally pretty run down.& dark, sink tap hard to turn off & all taps dodgy. Bathroom exhaust fan sounded awful. Big puddle in the parking area & one road access blocked off.
- Matthew (5/5): - Hot water in the shower was an issue. There was full pressure for around 2 minutes, then a dribble
Beds needed changing 20 years ago
The garden is a forest photos online are out dated
- Timothy (4/5): - When I first drove past it looked like the place had been abandoned. It is not well maintained. The bed was uncomfortable. They did not leave me a towel (I did not notice until the morning but no one was in reception). The lamp beside my bed did not work. The power point beside the bed did not work. The aircon unit (which thankfully I did not need) was covered in dust. There was very little bed covering so it was cold.
- Viviana (4/5): Don’t. Look elsewhere for any internet or good rest. - It was clean and comfy bed. Had microwave and kettle. No wifi was included although the add stated so. The facilities are incredibly old and outdated. On the main road with huge amounts of truck traffic - v loud.
Aircon was incredibly rattle and loud. Can’t use to try sleep.
- Dennis (1/5): -
- Noeline (10/5): -
- Noeline (10/5): We highly recommend this motel, we prefer the friendliness over 5star hotels. Its the little places that put in the most - It was clean and the staff were all amazing and friendly :)
Location was perfect for us, we had 3 rooms to accommodate the amount of us that travelled and all rooms were great :)
After a 3 hour drive from Sydney, having places to eat within walking distance was amazing.
- SANDY (5/5): Clean comfortable beds dog friendly - It was dog friendly and close to the venue we were attending Bit old not well cared for outside
- John (3/5): - Nothing The appearance was run/down and grubby. The linen was not the best, there was no where to hang clothes.no rack or closet. Very noisy with highway at front and railway line at the back. It was the smallest fridge I had ever seen, only half the size of a bar fridge.
- Curtis (4/5): -
- Ron (2/5): Ordinary looking, very little assistance except by message. - Very little No personnel around
- Tenealnadz (4/5): - Shower Room
- Max (1/5): Would never stay there again - Very badly maintained Leaving
- Younjung (10/5): -
- Harry (6/5): -
- Natalia (10/5): Excellent stop over in Muswellbrook ! - The room is actually okey , comfortable bed , functional aircon, microwave, hot shower with good water pressure ( my room was on the back ) , clean bedding , kitchen tower , face washer . Excellent value , would stay again !
