Cobwebs everywhere, paint peeling on walls, shower certain rusty, mirror falling to pieces, fridge broken spilling water on floor. Exterior is worse. Unkept lawns and trees. Rubbish throughout car park. When we pulled in we thought it was abounded. Owners dogs barking was too much too.

Room smelt of smoke when I entered even though it’s a strict no smoking policy. Wifi connect terrible. Otherwise owner pleasant and it was hospital style clean, sheets and towels looked like they came from a hospital supply facility. Dust above tissue box in bathroom ruined total clean vibe. It was relaxing but I wasn’t able to work due to poor wifi connection.

Unfortunately, there were insects crawling on the bathroom floor/raid cans in both the main room and bathroom. Most disappointing was the noise from the other room. This was supposed to be a rest before the next part of the trip and due to the poor sound proofing of these rooms, that was not possible. I would not recommend this place.

Arrived in dark and was slightly apprehensive but was very good. Clean. Good facilities. Fridge Microwave. Towels. Toiletries. Air con. Nice view over gardens. Pleasant owner! Good value.
• Brandon (8/5): Hidden Gem - Booked at short notice and basically took whatever room we could get in peak season. For the price we were pleased with the size of the room and the cleanliness. Great little spot just a few minutes out of Torquay in a tranquil location. Very friendly owner. Will stay here again next time we visit Torquay.

Although this Motel is quite dated on the outside its extremely comfortable and warm on the inside . It was a delight to have no smells and very fresh white bedlinen . Perfect for a one night stay near the coast .

• Robyn (8/5): - We stayed for 1 night whilst travelling the Great Ocean Rd. The motel is in a tiny village 5 kms from Torquay. There are few facilities in Bellbrae so take your dinner or drive to Apollo Ave. The room is comfortable with a nice bush outlook. Everything was very clean.
• Stella (10/5): Quiet and green - We loved our stay at the motel and would gladly stay again. It had all we expect from a motel accommodation - it was clean, comfortable and spacious. Our host was friendly and forthcoming about our needs. We were to arrive late in the day, after the reception closes, and she organised for us to be able to easily check in then. Being used to motels having bitumen parking lots next to them and usually located on busy roads, we were absolutely delighted when, upon our arrival, we discovered that the motel is immersed in nature and away from the main road. One parks the car on the gravel in front of the motel room, and all around there is a lovely park with grass, trees and bushes which we could also enjoy from our wall sized room window. The quiet, the greenery and its fresh, fragrant air were an unexpected bonus that helped us relax and rest even better after a day long drive.

Bellbrae motel is conveniently located close to the trail head and the Bowside cafe meeting point. The motel room was very well presented and clean.
