- 53elaynep (2/5): Most terrible - Terribly run down, full of homeless and down in luck residents. No BBQs no Cooking facilities, no children’s playground, towel badly stained. Mattress very badly stacked Ned and covered in mildew, and turned upside down with pillow top to the bottom, leaving a very hard base of mattress to sleep on. I now have back troubles after sleeping on this tor a week. Asked for a change of mattress fell on deaf ears of the Chinese manager. Would not recommend staying here
- jasonrN8138SJ (2/5): The Photos shown are far from what you will get - Checked in last night walked in and walked back out again. Charged $139 for a 1-night standard room, and very ordinary is what was presented. Maintenance was clearly lacking. Issues closing the door, one window wouldn't lock, the shower head was in an unusable state, Shower Curtin hadn't been changed in years. Peeling paint on the headboard on the bed and walls. Photos online show bright vibrant rooms yet its dark and run down. We have stayed in better $75 budget accommodation, better options available as we went up the road and for an extra $20 found a modern King room

- Wesley (8/5): - This is a great place for travellers to stay overnight as part of a leg. Great location close to shopping, Maccas and KFC plus next-door to other eateries. Bathroom door was hard to open and close and had to lift it up to move. TV had no channels. Shower was 11/10 tho. Great pressure and nice and hot. I would definitely stay here again.
- Joy (8/5): - This motel is very clean and very basic. Only two pillows, no spares, no blanket on the bed and a thin cover in the wardrobe. No hand towel or face clothes or shampoo. As often happens the photos look much better than the reality.
- Desley (4/5): - Unfortunately I cannot rate this motel well. Dirty bathroom with mould, a broken shower curtain rail, windows that would not lock, broken screens, and insufficient bedding (1 sheet and 1 blanket in winter is not enough).
- Zrinka (4/5): - This room is nowhere near $210 we paid for it. So overpriced. The coffee table was sticky with a thick coat of grime. Bathroom door didn’t have a lock, no light in toilet. Previous guests old toilet roll left around. There were extra large cockroaches in the kitchen probably due to dominos shop behind motel. There were tiny insects everywhere. Hard to tell what they were, but you could see them all over mobile phones and feel them on your legs. The occupants of other rooms seem to be long term residents waiting for housing who had their cars there for years which an inch of dust all over it. Not a comfortable feeling walking around. Just after midnight someone had either a chainsaw revving or a petrol blower revving for about 10-15 min. Most of the lights didn’t work and it was so dark outside you couldn’t see where to go to get upstairs. I’m currently saying in the most beautiful motel at Hervey Bay for $155. Clean and recently renovated and much cheaper.

Light over single bed was broken, and sliding door to bathroom kept coming off bottom runner. Ceiling fan only worked on full speed. Very close location to shopping and beach. Coffee shop near by as was supermarket. Enjoyed our stay.

- michellemM5023EL (2/5): A nightmare!! - The only good thing about this place is that it is pet friendly and the location is close to everything. My kids and I woke up with sore throats every morning - not sure if it was the mould, the mites or the dust. My son found a dead cockroach in his bed and there were many more running around. I cleaned the carpet myself with my own vacuum and i filled the barrel almost daily with dirt. It was putrid. No blankets provided but to be safe, we went over the road to K Mart and bought our own. Mouldy shower and shower curtin. Broken window panes and blinds in the kitchen area and some very questionable characters staying there full time. The owner was on and off. One minute she was nice, next she was really horrible. The washing lines are nothing more than ropes attached between the fence and the building and there's only one washing machine and dryer for the whole hotel. The tennis court net is broken. The pool was ok but the questionable characters lived in rooms overlooking the pool so I didn't feel right about having my kids swim in there as they would sit out the front of the rooms and watch. Most of the air conditioners leaked so there were buckets everywhere filled with grimy water. The restaurant on the website is dishevelled and full of dust and cobwebs. Everywhere we looked was dust and dirt. We only stayed there because we had no where else available.

- Anna (10/5): You do not get what you pay for. - We paid for Balcony, free breakfast and free internet. We received a ground floor room with only block out curtains so we could not open for natural light. Other wise you are in a display window. All fly screens were torn. No breakfast, no toaster, no microwave and no plates. Internet did not work at any time. We did ask for a microwave and toaster, but never got one. Excuse for not getting what we paid for was that she/owner has to pay high fees to Hotels.com.

The motor inn is at the value end,so obviously it lacks some of the finer points, but I would highly recommend it as a base for your holiday or business trip.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Would not stay again - The cleanest things were the sheets. Hugely expensive and yet probably the worst motel I've ever stayed in. Communication was almost impossible with the staff. Feel very ripped off.

Blankets smelt they they hadn’t been washed in months and had cigarette burns in them. Batteries in TV remote didn’t work and no cover on back. Blinds in Kitchen Window did not close and people could peep through it. Pool was green, table tennis table was barely standing - entire area looked like it was from the flintstones. Prices were $50 higher than advertised on their website. Definitely the biggest dive I have stayed at and I’ve stayed at a few.

The price is low compared to other locations however the unit is desperately in need of major renovations. The air conditioner next to the bed sounds like a freight train, the bed is very hard yet sagging, the tv doesn’t work properly, and the verandah is rotting away. If you spend your holiday away from your accomodation, and just return to eat and sleep, then this may suit you.

We are country customers, and we slept well, no road noise. Staff are lovely and so very friendly. I was welcomed by a lovely lady who took a real interest in her customer and her two little offsiders. Thank you for a lovely experience.

- LynneC528 (4/5): Don't Stay At The Anchorage if you don't have to! - So I booked the Anchorage reluctantly, due to a family get-together weekend and my sister had already booked at the Anchorage. Stay at the same place, she insisted, it has a pool, and it will be great. Yes, she was conned, too. So I DIDN'T book at the one I was looking at online (for cheaper!), and booked the Anchorage. Annie greeted us at Reception and she was happy and chatty. Good start. But that's as good as it got. Our room was clean. Tick. It had a bed (fairly comfy). Tick. The aircon worked. Tick. We were within walking distance of the shops. Tick. We got to park outside our door. Tick. But the room was really old. There was only a tiny soap provided with the towels. The pool was green, so we didn't dare to use it. There was no space to have a friend or family over at all, in their room or ours. My sister and I both felt ripped off. If I had paid $75 for the night, I would have been happier, as the price would have told me what to expect, and let me decide for myself. But $135 led me to expect what I certainly would have experienced at another nicer motel in the same area, and I feel I paid twice as much as should have been charged. Annie needs to reconsider their rates, and charge fairly, I am recommending. If I go away for a night, I want it to be AT LEAST as nice as home, and for the money I paid, it should be MUCH NICER!
- Jenny (4/5): - we liked: it was air-conditioned. it was in walking distance to the main shopping centre, Aldi, Coles, Woolies & coffee. The one staff we had contact with was pleasant & helped with our requests. We didn't like? 1 tiny bar of soap each. 1 towel 1 floor mat. We had to ask for hand towels. There was no bodywash/shampoo/conditioner supplied. There was red hair strands on the shower tiles and on the bathroom floor - like the last guest had a haircut and clumps were left behind. The pool - a big factor in choosing the Anchorage - was too green to see the bottom. Not useable. A double bed, quite comfy, but only a single size blanket to use, the pillows have seen better days & needed 2 each, but only 3 in room. The 'Continental breakfast' delivered to our room, day 1: consisted of a bowl of nutrigrain, 2 slices of toast, a glass of orange juice. No condiments for the toast. only butter. We asked, there was nothing. We were not asked what cereal we would like. The 2nd/3rd mornings, we were given 2 weetbix each, toast w/ butter, jam/ honey. A 'Continental breakfast' to my mind is fresh breads,butter/jam/honey, fresh meats, cheeses, croissants, pastries, rolls, fruit juice and various hot beverages. Which we have had in many other motels. Considering we could have taken another motel for $10 more, we were very disappointed. My parents stayed there for several weeks, just a few years ago, and were very happy with the room & service. I'd say it has changed hands. We won't go back.

- Mal (2/5): - The room was musty and gross. It was not like the pictures. The pool was unusable apparently due to the rain. We didn’t even end up staying the night.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was disgusting and my husband and i were going to leave on arrival however as we were both extremely tired we had no choice but to stay. The complementary breakfast consisted of cols toast with only butter no other spreads and nutrigrain with juice that was dropped to our dingy room that we could not even stand to be in any longer and we did make the choice to give up our second booked night. It was advertised as a queen room and it was only a double, it was also advertised to have a balcony of which it did not it was on ground level and had a small area of cement outside where you could sit and loom at the motel that looked like it should have been shut down.

- 439nevilles (6/5): Last minute stay - Change of plans meant looking for a motel at short notice right on Christmas, took a chance on this one, old and a bit rundown, however clean and serviceable, it did the job, bonus close to maccas, kfc and dominoes and Woolworths
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic motel room - Check in was excellent. Lady in charge was very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. However, condition of room left a lot to be desired. It was clean but needed much maintenance work and needed painting especially on door into en-suite.More like back packers accomodation
- tanya (4/5): - You need to take your own washing up cloth, as they tell you to wash your dishes up or you will be charged, however they do not supply a dish cloth. There is no where to put your clothes in the bathroom and the towel rack was just hanging on the wall. You are also only supplied with 1 pillow each which are that small you might as well slept without a pillow. It is hard to see the signage when driving past, and the place was very run down.

- annetteh437 (6/5): Just about adequate - This motel is in a good location to be able to walk everywhere, and it is very close to supermarkets. The rooms are VERY basic and stark - they need smartening up. The bed was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was small but functioned perfectly with lots of hot water. It was very quiet at night, so had a good nights sleep. Wi-fi was terrible (despite being told ‘it’s a new router’). Expensive for the standard of room, but was comfortable and felt safe.

- 558lynne (2/5): Anchorage Motor Inn - If you ever have the opportunity to stay here - run. Dirty, run down, zero customer service. We travel frequently, both here & o/seas and have stayed in better quality accommodation in most 3rd world countries we have visited.
- Estelle (2/5): MOTEL FROM HELL 1/2 STAR RATING ONLY - Worst place ever. Dont know how it's made a 3 1/2 star rating. On arrival lady was very nice and welcoming. On arrival at room the stench of cigarettes was so overwhelming. Got inside,carpets were badly stained and room stunk of wet dog. Only thing clean in the room was the sheets. Beds were uncomfortable with only 2 pillows for a double bed. I had to use a towel on the floor just to walk into the bathroom because it was dirty and mouldy. Nighttime hit and it was noisy from permanent residents. Yelling and screaming until 2:30 in the morning. People going through ashtrays outside our room. I woke at 5:30 am to my husband laughing so hard because the bathroom door fell off. We pack up shortly after and headed to our next destination. I WOULD SINCERELY ADVISE NOT TO STAY HERE EVER!!!!

- BertandCathie (4/5): Basic motel with no service to the rooms - We stayed at this motel for 7 days. We had to asked to get the garbage bins emptied,towels changed, sheets were never changed, no outside light near entrance just dangerous, I could go on but this place was not a place that I would recommend to anyone. The photo of the place looks like it has been Photoshop.
