Guest Reviews
- JEFFREY (9/5): WE ENJOYED OUR STAY - I LIKED THE ATMOSPHERE GENERATED BY THE HOST. HE IS A CUNNING LINGUIST ABLE TO CONVERT LETTERS TO WORDS BETWEEN 4 AND SEVEN LETTERS LONG TO SUM UP MOST SITUATIONS. HE IS VERY AFFABLE AND CARING OF HIS CUSTOMERS AND HIS DUTY UNDER THE LIQUOR LICENCING ACT. THE FOOD WAS GOOD ESPECIALLY THE SMOKED TROUT IN LIME JUICE. THE BEEF AND RIBS AND THE PIZZA ALSO GOOD. THE MUSIC FESTIVAL HE ARRANGED WAS OBVIOUSLY A GREAT SUCCESS. THEIS IS A RUSTIC HOLIDAY STAY SO EXPECTATIONS OF LUXURY ETC MUST BE PUT ASIDE . THIS IS COMPENSATED FOR BY THE HOST BEING JUST AS AUSSIE AS YOU WOULD EXPECT OF THE LOCATION.
- Viktor (10/5): - Гарна та не велика кімната. Чиста ванна кімната. Базовий сніданок. Все сподобалось.
- Nils (8/5): - Comfortable lodging, friendly staff, fun location, solid kitchen. Thank-you !
- Aneshka (8/5): - Really cool vibe. There was live music playing when we turned up so enjoyed that with a beer. Super cute dog! Owners and staff were really nice. Room was fine. Nice stay for the night.
- Ben (10/5): So good, I’ll be back - Great food and staff were fantastic Nothing
- michele (1/5): - Did not get to stay as they had no power Accommodation cancelled as no power we had to move on and find new accommodation
- Tonia (10/5): - Lovely little country pub. Friendly staff & good food. Excellent value for the price.

- Carolyn (8/5): A fun experience - We shared a mixed grill as it was more than ample The room was very small and there was little room to put things away
- Daniel (10/5): - Brilliant pub
I love Gus
- John (7/5): - The friendliness of the staff. There was no TV going in the dining room.
- Chloe (9/5): -
- Campbell (7/5): We had fun with family -
- Matthew (10/5): Cracker pub for a overnight stop - Great people, great meals awwsome hosts we had some great laughs in the bar.
Room was very clean and tidy, great pub to stop over on a bike trip weekend 👍🍻 Leaving to go home after 1 night... next time we going to stay for a couple

- lesley (6/5): Relaxed, quiet and comfy stay with no fuss! - A quirky accommodation, in a bush setting, with clean rooms and shared bathroom facilities, straightforward meals which were tasty, and the opportunity to meet other travellers exploring Tassie! Nil
- Vicki (10/5): One night stay - Food was amazing, large portions, staff were friendly and made one feel welcome. All good
- Jenni Mark (10/5): -
- Linda (1/5): Did not honour agreement. - I liked the phone call giving us notice the power would be off that day.
I liked the verbally agreed refund. No power, No restaurant,
Maybe No shower, No toilet
No Refund!
You phoned me with this sad tale and since you agreed to refund our payment we paid for accommodation elsewhere.
No Integrity. Oh and btw, Not coming back even though I said we would. See what I did there, I let you know I changed my mind.
- Nicole (9/5): - Very comfortable for overnight stay and relaxing atmosphere.
- Brian (7/5): - A good pub in a great location with a lot of character. Very limited toilet/shower facilities which had to be shared with a paddock full of campers/caravaners. No bath mats proved in any of the showers.
A different weekend without an "event" on would be a lot quieter and more relaxed.
- Jeannette (8/5): Inn in the bush - The atmosphere of the hotel was lovely. The owner gave us a choice of rooms. The amenities were close by. The food was delicious 😋 Unfortunately the walls are thin & the gentleman next door had is radio on till 11pm.
- moore (10/5): - Peaceful. Comfortable outback setting. What's there not to love
- Struan (10/5): Stunning, hidden gem not to be missed! - What a hidden gem this place is! If you're touring in a van, tent, bike or anything, check this little place we were looked after like family, and given unbelievable friendly service from the team here. Rooms were perfect, warm and comfortable. Food on point, complimentary breakfast for early risers. You don't have to be a fisherman to stay here, one of the best motorcycle roads in Australia leads here. Not being able to stay longer...
- Klaus (7/5): Nicht leicht zu finden, von außen sieht es etwas einfach aus, ist aber dann ein schöner Raum. - Sauber, alles da Etwas klein, einchecken war nicht ganz leicht
- Katherine May Campbell (10/5): -
- Jane (8/5): Comfortable - Relaxed quiet
- Kathleen (9/5): - It was rustic and charming. Clean as well. Maybe some fruit to go with complimentary breakfast. No milk when we went to eat. No staff to ask for any
- Felix (6/5): -
- Nils (8/5): Tons of character at this place! Good place to stay to access Swansea and Freycinet Park. - It was so homey! Our room was small and we shared a bathroom but it was comfortable and fairly quiet. The staff were kind and helpful. The 2 dinners that we had (chicken parmy and mixed grill) were generous and tasty. The breakfast wasn’t maintained well while we were there. We had to ask a few times for the water jugs to be refilled.
- Heather (10/5): A great experience! - The quietness of country life
- Thomas (8/5): A quirky but friendly place in a remote location. - A quirky place - and in the middle of nowhere! Good food (we enjoyed a nice “parmi”) listening to live music, followed by a game of pool. The breakfast offer was rather limited.
- Victoria (9/5): -
- Ayush (1/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): Thanks for having us at the Inn, we had a good time. - The vibe at this Pub was awesome. The lake was so pretty, easy walk from the venue. We had the best steak dinner; a huge Tomahawk steak cooked to perfection. Everything was good.
- Maleta (8/5): -
- Vickee (8/5): Unique and value for money. - The Inn was unique and a great experience. Definitely value for money.
- Oceanias (8/5): - Clean well organised Well very nice but spartan place more for younger people
- Peggy-Anne (9/5): - The bush setting. Very quiet. Short stroll to lake. Nothing
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Yean Shong (9/5): - Reasonably priced and wonderful environment
- RLloyd (10/5): I really don't have any thing bad to say about the place - It was like a typical country pub The atmosphere was fantastic and the food was great
There was a lot of space and the music was fabulous
Great caravan parking area The only problem was that we couldn't Brekky as there was no power
- Kirsty (8/5): - Great staff, fun pub vibe and a fabulous property dog. A great experience for a fun night in the country!
- Heather (8/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Hannah (9/5): Memorable spot! Secluded and local. Hidden gem! - Arrived on Saturday as live music was playing - fantastic local event. Secluded spot, exactly how I hoped! A great change from the coast/towns. Nice breakfast offering and comfy facilities. Special! N/A

- Georgina (3/5): Started well but ended up very badly - Food was very good. Rustic location was good. Interesting selection of spaces to hang out in We weren’t advised on wifi, tea/coffee facilities & guest fridge (we were carrying food with us from a previous stay).
The worst part was late in the evening when the owner of the inn was yelling & shouting profanities and swearing repeatedly so the entire guest wing was unsettled. We were almost at a point of packing our bags & leaving as it was insanely uncomfortable. In the morning we left around 9am, and there wasn’t a single staff member to talk to, cook breakfast or offer any assistance
- Rod (9/5): -
- Anastasiia (9/5): - Wonderful calm location in the forest. Amazing people around and (occasionally) live music
- M Johnstone (10/5): Kookaburra and Pizza - A peaceful setting. Simple accommodation, clean and tidy. Really friendly staff. Loved all the kookaburra calls. Great to be able to eat at Lake Leake as it's a bit isolated. We enjoyed the fish and chips and a pizza. Bonus live local music on Saturday. Our room, no1, was very close to the kitchen, restaurant and pool room so very noisy but settled down around 10pm.

- Amanda (2/5): Get the drunk husband and his mate out of the Inn - The Inn has so much potential. Excellent camping area and facilities. Outdoor fire pits. Wildlife and the most beautiful dogs you will ever meet. The Ladies are amazing here. Greeted at 10.45am by a very intoxicated owner who had to go and get his lovely wife to help us because he was incapable. But he continued to sit at the front bar, swearing, being loud, and next to the only heater that was lit in the whole place. The place being completely ruined by an alcoholic proprietor who admits that all he does is drink the profits 🤦🏻♀️ and his sidekick who we found sleeping on the dogs bed in the pool room the next morning, half naked and still drunk. The steak is not worth half of what is charged either!Such a shame because the women are amazing

- René (8/5): -
- Francesco (8/5): - Wonderful location in the middle of nowhere, with plenty of wallabies and wombats around the structure. At night you can enjoy an incredible view of the sky. The staff was very friendly, and we really enjoyed staying there talking and playing with our small child.
- Bruce (7/5): -
- Melita (7/5): - Facilities were clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Food was expensive but good.

- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Best tomahawk steak ever had. And the hospitality was amazing. Definitely go back and should be a bucket list stay for everyone. Loved everything.
- Matthew (10/5): Best little bush pub - Everything was excellent, had some great laughs with troy behind the bar, legend of a fella.
Also had the best scotch fillet steak I've ever had. Unreal . Leaving.. next time we are staying for a couple nights and use the pub as base camp for another motorcycle weekend away.
- Carolyn (7/5): Quiet and friendly, with plenty of wildlife. - The staff were really friendly and easygoing. They have a beautiful dog named Gus. There are enough toilets/showers for rooms. Sharing shouldn't be a problem. It was nice and quiet, with wallabies and quolls right on the property. The breakfast was basic, but just fine to start the day. I didn't personally mind it, but there is no TV, kettle, or microwave in the room. But you can go into the main area to make coffee, toast or heat something in the microwave at any time. Bring a good book for the evenings here. It's the perfect atmosphere for it
- Michelle (6/5): Pleasant stay. - The property was clean and comfortable The property was locked and in darkness on arrival, would be nice if it felt more welcoming . The rooms felt like we were staying in someone’s home. The bathrooms were shared and rooms were dated
- Mihir (8/5): Very good -
- Eltonto (10/5): A cozy gem nestled away in the Tasmania wilderness. Highly recommend. - Beautiful location, close to Lake Leake. Wonderful friendly staff, a gorgeous big cuddly dog and a wood fire. Beers flowing, plenty of hearty food available. Bedrooms were on the small side, but all you need for a night or two stop over. The bathrooms were really clean, well decorated with spacious showers.
- Derrick (9/5): Nice bush pub with great food and service.. - Good location in woodland and close to the lake. The room was clean and the bed warm and comfy. Food at the bar was really good - we had pizza and the loaded garlic bread. Good selection of draught beers too. Breakfast was good with cereal, toast & jam tea, coffee etc
- Jack (9/5): Superb -
- Pedro (6/5): Good price to stay one night if you don't mind sharing bathroom - Pub was great and personal very friendly, very convenient to have the pub for dinner. Bed comfortable and room not too small Bathroom was clean but shared and outside the room, the isolation very bad and we hear the guy snoring like it was in our room.
- Matthias (9/5): Superb -
- Ni (10/5): Exceptional - I like the place and the staff so friendly.
- Edward (7/5): Good - Food was excellent, steaks were the best
