Room was part of a three unit building situated in a quiet residential neighborhood just a short walking to the busy downtown area (so no need to fight for parking). The unit looked out onto a beautiful garden area with a deck and chairs to enjoy it. Inside, the bedroom, sitting area, kitchen and bathroom are immaculate with thoughtful touches and a heated bathroom floor! Lauren and Derek provided a fantastic breakfast delivered to the door at a time picked by me. It was the perfect place. Everything was delightful. Even handy parking right next to the building.

The heated bathroom floor was fabulous when coming in from the cold and getting up early in the morning. The breakfast was amazing, a great variety and freshly cooked and delivered to our room with a cheery good morning from Derek. A short and easy walk into town was handy for dinner. I just wish we had stayed for more than 2 nights. Oh and the splashback in Bellbird cabin is spectacular!

- Martin (9/5): Exceptional value for money and service - The personal touch is amazing as this let is next to the owners home. It’s a set of three rooms the can be hired and is located within a nice housing estate. The walk to town is 5-10 minutes. There is a hot tub that can be used as well, although we didnt have time to use it. Breakfast was as good as any 5* hotel we had on the trip we were on. A range of options were able to be selected from which was an amazing touch and attention to detail. The room was homely and very comfy and the shower was excellent. We definitely would use this again if in the area. Only one minor point that we had was bit of noise from adjoining rooms in the morning. The owners had only had the rooms since 2023 and maybe could improve this in the future with better sound proofing BUT don’t let this spoil the review as it was excellent value for money compared to 4 others we had on our trip around NZ and as listed above service was exceptional.

The best water pressure I have ever experienced, there is no feeling like coming home from a cold day out and having a shower here! Amazing brekky served as early or late as you like it, straight to your room. Hosts are very hospitable and the room was stocked with tea+coffee+some extra treats.

However, once inside your studio it's not really an issue. Also, the short walk in and out of the town centre is just what is needed after dinner.

The grounds were gorgeous. We ate outside. We enjoyed the quiet of the neighborhood. For breakfast they served exactly what we asked for and it was delicious! It was also very timely because we wanted to leave early to get to one of our adventures. If you’re going to be in this part of New Zealand, it is a fabulous place to stay!
