• qiuyu (10/5): Warm & cozy home away from home near Queenstown - Highly recommend Fairy Bed and Breakfast near Queenstown! It was my first stay in New Zealand, and I felt incredibly warm and welcomed here. The cozy fireplace is absolutely lovely, the homemade snacks are delicious, and the breakfast is generous and wonderful. The room is beautifully decorated, extremely clean and tidy. It feels so comfortable and homely, just like staying in my own home. This lovely place healed all my travel tiredness. I would definitely book again if I come back to Queenstown!

• ELLEN (10/5): Highly recommend , we had a great stay! - Dan and Mitzi were great hosts, they knew when to chitchat and when to let you have space to do your thing. Mitzi made afternoon baked treats both days and kindly gave us a lift to pick up our rental car. Rate also included a great breakfast in the morning. Our room was comfortable and we had access to a lounging space and full kitchen. We were entertained by their silkie chickens and Guinea pigs (and no their rooster did not crow first thing in the morning!). Very Short walk to a bridge overlooking the Shotover river. We didn’t mind but if you are looking to stay in downtown Queensland and the waterfront this isn’t the place for that.

• Lachlan (10/5): It truly feels like a home away from home. Could not rave more as the best place I've ever stayed - My partner and I both loved the coziness of the room and shared areas. We especially loved the well cooked breakfast sat with other travellers, inviting us to share stories of our trip. Dan and Mitzi were extremely welcoming and made it feels as if we were invited into their own home. If one is after a more intimate and antiquated travel through Queenstown or just looking to be around friendly faces The Ferry could not be more highly recommend.

I can only hope I find similar BnBs in the future! - The accommodations were beautiful - they have taken such good care of the property and it was all just incredibly nice. The food was so delicious - I loved all of the breakfast options I got. The owners were so kind and friendly and offered fantastic suggestions. There was truly nothing I didn't like about this stay. It was as perfect a stay as I could've possibly imagined. Everything was so thoughtful and well done. I can only hope I get to stay at similar accommodations in the future!

• David (10/5): Amazing property & hosts well situated away from the hustle and bustle with lovely cooked breakfast - Dan & Mitzi are such welcoming hosts in their beautiful old Ferry Hotel that is situated on the Shotover River, about a 15 minute drive to Queenstown and not far from the airport. Lovely, quiet location. Each room is beautifully appointed and guests have access to the lounge. The cooked breakfast was delicious and individually cooked for each guest. I will definitely recommend their beautiful property.

• Lutz (10/5): Wunderbare charmante historische Unterkunft mit perfekten Gastgebern und Super Frühstück - Wunderbare Gastgeber die ein Kleinod renoviert und typisch englisch ausgestattet haben mit vielen wunderschönen Einzelheiten. Die Zimmer sind wunderbar und gemütlich, der Ofen im Wohnzimmer verbreitet Wärme und die tollen Muffins der Gastgeberin sorgen für Sinnesfreude. Das Frühstück ist perfekt und reichhaltig. Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt.

Unser Zimmer war super schön und das Bett sehr bequem. Alles war auch sehr sauber. Jeden Tag gab es frischen Kuchen, was uns gefreut hat. Auch das Frühstück war wirklich fantastisch. Super ist auch, dass man die Waschmaschine und den Trockner mitbenutzen darf. Auch werden jeden Tag das Bett und das Zimmer sauber gemacht sowie alle Handtücher gewechselt. Anlässlich unserer Flitterwochen haben wir eine Flasche Sekt geschenkt bekommen, was uns auch sehr gefreut hat. Wenn man mehr als 10 Punkte vergeben könnte, würden wir mindestens 15 Punkte vergeben! -

Dan and Mitzi go above and beyond to look after you to make you feel at home. Additional benefit of washer and dryer with chef style gourmet kitchen you can use doing your stay. Would stay here at least 3 days as this is a better base than Queenstown, if you have a vehicle. No issues

The location is idyllic and away from the bustle of central Queenstown. Dan & Mitzi take such good care of their guests and are great for a chat! We loved the little gestures left in your room + afternoon tea treats + the delicious freshly-cooked breakfasts (which uses local ingredients and even eggs from their own chickens). The rooms are pristine and cosy! We loved everything about the Ferry.

• Rowena (10/5): Perfect base for Queenstown short stay - A perfect base to explore Queenstown and the surrounding towns. A delicious and substantial breakfast sets you up for the day of exploring. Returning at the end of a long day, the log fire is burning and home made sweet treat await. Mitzi’s cooking is amazing and Dan’s advice about where to go and what to see is customised according to the weather and your individualised interests. This beautifully restored old home is located very close to supermarkets, the airport, and all that Queenstown has to offer, yet it has a peaceful rural setting fronting the river with views of The Remarkables and Coronet Peak. Highly recommended The Ferry to either a couples and would be perfect for a group of six as you have full access to kitchen and living area.

Breakfast was homemade with multiple options to choose from. We were a week into our trip and being able to do laundry while we were there was greatly appreciated. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to an experience that surpasses even the finest hotels. In my opinion, this is not just the best in Queenstown. It is the best in the world. The five star touches were everywhere. Daily surprises like chocolates on the bed and an extra special treat for our honeymoon made our stay even more memorable. The breakfast was outstanding and the takeaway breakfast on our last morning was the best I have ever received from any B&B or even a luxury hotel. The breakfast bap was exceptional and actually deserves a place on the daily menu! What truly sets The Ferry apart is the unparalleled hospitality of Dan and Mitzi. They are warm, engaging and exceptionally well travelled, making every conversation a pleasure. Trying to guess which of them is the mastermind in the kitchen is part of the fun. I am convinced that Mitzi is the magic behind the baking while Dan is the professional witty front of house host. I could be wrong!! Speaking of food, the daily homemade treats in the kitchen were incredible. Freshly baked cheese scones, raspberry cakes, protein balls. All available in the beautifully finished communal kitchen, living room and dining area. It truly felt like a home away from home. Dan, an absolute fountain of local knowledge, provided brilliant insider tips for making the most of Queenstown. He recommended the breathtaking back road route into Queenstown which was a game changer for avoiding traffic while soaking in the stunning landscapes. His advice on hikes and local walks meant we had plenty of options to explore the natural beauty of the area. He pointed us to the best viewpoints and places of interest, ensuring we experienced the most spectacular scenery New Zealand has to offer.
• Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing comfortable and beautiful bed and breakfast about 15 minutes drive from Queenstown centre and 10 minutes from airport. Walking trails start at the door.
