- Doris (8/5): Very good - No breakfast..location fine A slight musty smell in the pillows..need to change pillows ..like peoples sweat over time
- gpwallis (6/5): Good value basic motel. - Very clean, easy walk to town, good shower, nice bottle of milk on arrival. One or two incredibly noisy high-speed vehicles, including a 150kph motorbike(?) at 2am. Very hard uncomfortable chairs, high table. Awful Porters tea bags, but the same as most motels- why supply this stuff?

- Mel (8/5): Just what we needed for a quick stopover in Whanganui - Very clean, friendly welcome. Good location for town. Tea & Coffee provided Early morning road noise.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Rachel (9/5): -
- Karen (8/5): Comfortable with all you need for a 1-2 night stay. - Location for our purposes was very good. Easy access to town. There is road noise in early hours - main road through.
- Guest (9/5): -
- Hedley (8/5): All good - Had every we needed All good
- Mary (9/5): great place to stay within easy walking distance of Bridge block with cafes and restuarants - friendly Motel staff, great shower, nice kitchenette and roomy unit queen bed had the electric blanket hard thing quite some way onto the bed but because of extra bed in spare room was able to just leave my partner in the main bed and he could avoid that part of the bed
- Edward (7/5): -
- Russell (10/5): Host's were great and serviced rooms daily - Location short trip to town and shops
- Karen (9/5): Enjoyable stay at this motel. - New bathroom and kitchen made this older style motel good value. Friendly manager on arrival. Because it is an older motel, it only had enough room for a double bed in the bedroom. Managed OK despite this.
- Romala (9/5): -
- NIKAORE MARAMA (10/5): My stay was excellent and the Unit we were in was very comfortable and worth the price we paid - Location was good 2 min drive to our 2 dat event Everything was excellent. Very grateful
- Beverley (9/5): We were pleased and happy with our experience. - My friend and I were in Whanganui to do the bike trails. The motel was situated in an ideal spot for us. Easy to find and close to the bike trails. Very clean and tidy. Friendly helpful staff. We were able to park our bikes under cover on the deck outside our unit. We did find the allocated angle car park for our unit, a bit short especially as we had a large car and a bike rack on the back. As there were empty units and car parks we were able to use a parallel park so we did not stick out onto the drive.
- Esther (10/5): - Spacious unit nicely decorated. Being elevated above the road was excellent to catch a breeze. Loved the verandah. Perfect location for our needs. Easy walk to town. Hosts were great to deal with and excellent communication before arrival.
- Ben (7/5): Would recommend for budget friendly accomodation. - Very good shower. Clean and functional room. Basic but as advertised.
- Pikihuia (10/5): - Super clean, tiny, fluffy town, comfy bed and great Sleeve. Easy to find and loved the verandah. Not a fan of the stairs.
- Susan (9/5): Very good location, unit and pricing - very happy with our stay here. - Really liked this motel - easy check in, easy to find, very handy to attractions, very pleased with our unit - we were able to sleep in separate rooms (one in lounge, one in bedroom), which was important for us travelling as friends and not as a couple. Kitchenette was fine for us (not a full stove but a cooking hob, toaster, jug, good equipment, very good TV and channel selection. Liked table on balcony outside. Nice modern bathroom and good shower. Very reasonably priced. Overall, we thought this was great value and would happily go back. Nothing the motel can do about this but it is on the hillside with parking down below the building which means some steps to carry up your luggage. Also, it is on SH4 so there is quite a bit of traffic noise but this did not worry us much at all when inside the unit, more when sitting outside.
- Edrick (9/5): Superb - The room spotless and clean staff were very helpful not the most motel, but exceptionally comfortable exceptionally clean!! I get the impression that this us young couple starting out and so starting to build on their investment. They entrance could use a fresh makeover and a lick of paint and some landscaping which would totally transform the motel but otherwise, everything else in place comfortable spotlessly clean, for facilities and exceptional staff.
- Cheree (9/5): A lot quieter than one I stayed in before! - N/A Didn’t know breakfast was available N/A
- Jill (10/5): Too short a stay at this super location - Excellent support . We arrived late. staff contacted us and let us know how to gain access. All good.
- Jim (9/5): -
- Lynn (6/5): It was ok - Nice bathroom, kitchen was fine had what we needed, dble bed was more comfy than the single bed, No privacy from others, no air flow.
- Philip (9/5): Definitely worth iy - The service was top notch, the staff were very helpful
- Noel (4/5): -
- Vicki (9/5): Very nice accommodation - Modern, clean and comfortable room. The annoying exhaust fan that came on when the light was turned and took ages for it to turn off. Was not impressed with it especially during the night when I had to use the toilet.
- Duncan (9/5): -
- cugola mario (8/5): - La chambre était propre et tout les équipements impeccable
Dommage que l'extérieur laisse à désirer La proximité de la route, le bruit des voitures tôt le matin
- Waldina (10/5): -
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Always enjoy staying at Te Awa Motel when visiting Whanganui.
- Rorylex (10/5): 100% will stay here again - Great easy to get to location, close to town but not right in town. The view is great the open deck made the place feel very spacious. easy parking. everything was clean and well presented. check in was quick and easy. would defiantly stay again on future trips. Honestly only thing i could think of was needing paper towels available for the microwave.
- Leanne (8/5): Solo traveler Te Awa - The location
The cleanliness
Very basic but comfortable Road noise
- Jamie (8/5): -
- Jeffrey (5/5): Location downgrade - Balcony to unload/load the bike Location next to the busy road
- Malcolm (7/5): It served our needs for a 2 night stay. - The rooms and bathroom were well lit and spotless. The receptionist was courteous. The beds were comfy. The tiny kitchen had all the necessary appliances. The TV worked.
The location was excellent in terms of city attractions. Parking was convenient to the room. The advertised view of the river was a bit of a stretch; one could get a tiny glimpse between the two buildings across the road who no doubt did get a good view of the river.
There was poor ventilation with a lack of fresh air. The entrance was a door-to-floor slider so that could not be kept open. The only safe ventilation was a small window in the bathroom.
The bathroom vanity had a partly blocked plug so it emptied over about 15 minutes.
Access to the busy road required caution as there was a blind corner to the right exiting the property
You had to climb about 14 stairs to get up to the landing area. There was no elevator, so not suitable for elderly or physically handicapped guests.
The outside of the property looked worn, tired and in need of a good paint job.
- Reta (8/5): Always happy to stay here when coming to Whanganui - It’s clean. Has an electric stove top and stainless steel pot. Beds are very comfortable. Great service Shower was continuously leaking
- Axel (9/5): - Gute Lage, sauber und viel Platz Direkt an der Straße aber nachts trotzdem ruhig
- Guest (10/5): Delighted - Delightful little stand alone log cabin. Very private and quiet. Own access. We really loved staying here, level access which we requested, and a very nicely appointed unit, more like a little house. Clean, and quiet No complaints
- GAVIN (6/5): Very basic and outdated, but clean. No heatpump - simple fan and heater. -
- Dominic (5/5): Alright, just don't bring
a baby or cooking plans... - Comfy beds, clean, goid location, busy road but quiet between 10pm-6am Don't bring a baby or attempt to cook....Was charged an extra $50/night for a 6mths old infant, brought our own cot, to have one provided would have cost extra on top of the $50
Cooker was old, rusty, didnt get hot enough...no sharp knife or peeler....
Offered Sky, but the TV is tiny

- Patrice (8/5): I pleasent place to stay near the river. - Nicely appointed and renovated apartments with excellent shower and single beds in a separate room. Close to town over the river in a nice area. Very clean and tidy. Pillows were super super soft but apart from that everything was great.
- Maan (1/5): over all, I will never book this motel again. - I do not like this property at all, dirty room, find spider in side the room as well as found Cobwebs. staff was very rude and not professional at all.
- Heather (7/5): Suited our needs. - Location was great for our needs. We got our own breakfast. People next door on Saturday night out talking and drinking late eg 2 am. Had trouble sleeping. I think they had two units between them. Fair enough to midnight but not 2 am. My sister-in-laws staying at same motel. One went outside but it didn’t stop them talking or drinking.
- Don (9/5): - Everything one needed for 2 nights stay was provided. Room was basic but very clean and comfortable. Management were very helpful and pleasant. Liked everything.
- Shearer (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our two nights in Whanganui - lots to do and the motel is very handy for town. - Close to town. Great late afternoon sunshine and sunset views. Beds were comfy and the linen was clean. The unit was clean but a little in need of a deep clean in places. Fantastic shower in terms of power of water flow and instant hot water. There was quite a bit of traffic noise. Parking was a bit tight.
- Patricia (8/5): - Clean _
- Patricia (5/5): Average. Would not stay here again. - View of river was amazing. Kitchen and bathroom clean and modern. Bed comfortable. Furnishings old and worn. Vegetation around unit 7 needed to be cut back. We had bugs and mosquitoes in room, and ants in bathroom.
- Kris (9/5): -
- Léa (2/5): Décevant - Chambre sale, linge de lit qui sent l’humidité et chambre sombre et ayant besoin d’un rafraîchissement. Très mauvais rapport qualité prix voire cher pour ce que c’était !
- Kent (8/5): - Perfect for us as wedding was within walking distance
- Dylan (8/5): Would recommend for a good bed and close to town - Very clean. Sky sports was a bonus.
Very nice staff Little bit dated and smelled a little musty
- Amy (7/5): - The beds and pillows were very comfortable
- Sharmalee (8/5): Our stay was very comfortable and we will stay there again when we visit Whanganui. - Really comfortable bed and pillows. It was clean and tidy. Excellent position in the evening with the setting sun.
The car park was very handy. It was excellent that they have Sky Sports TV channels. They could improve by increasing the size of the TV...........very small and difficult to see from the bed or the dining table especially for older people.
- Andrew (8/5): - Great location
- Paul (8/5): Only one night but we were impressed with the quality of the bathroom and kitchen facilities in part -
- Kevin (10/5): -
- Esta (10/5): Unit super clean and tidy.Manager friendly and helpful.Definitely return agai - Close to CBD,Bar close by that serves lovely meals, parking
- Cathy (8/5): Comfortable room with extra room for single beds.( or stuff). - Great location and safe as bike was left outside our unit unlocked. Disappointed that large sign showed private spa, but office person said it was temporarily unavailable. No reason was given.
- Josie (3/5): Won't be staying again - Staff attitude
- Sue (6/5): It was fine for what we wanted. - Location good. Another comfy chair
- Karina (10/5): -
- Denis (9/5): -
- Maraea (10/5): It was all l wanted if not more -
- Romala (9/5): -
- Ursula (10/5): - Spotless clean, great shower and spacious room
- Murray (10/5): A very comfortable stay within close proximity to what we needed - a hassle free stay & a very affordable price I co - We had an excellent experience at Te Awa I was received by a young man that explained everything perfectly to me with hassle at all - information was given clearly with no problem at all. It’s was very clean & refreshed with simple decor that was hard to fault
- Kirsten (8/5): - Lovely clean unit with views of the sunset. Bed was on the soft side, but otherwise it was a great place to stay.
- Antoinette (10/5): -
- Maureen (10/5): - Welcoming staff, well appointed rooms, very clean
- Brown (4/5): Average - Decently priced. Good location Smelled musty. Didn't lock from inside, no air con

- Gerald (8/5): -
- Mark (7/5): Good for 1 night. Facilities good. Staff greeting excellent - N/A
