• Natasha (7/5): - The location was good, only a short walk to the beach The ranch slider door makde an awful screeching noise when opened or closed. TV didn't work properly and the internet was very spotty.
• Caroline (1/5): Don't go - The location The owner was dreadful, very grumpy , and would not address the non working fridge or microwave. Cabin was poorly sticked, had to buy a decent knife, and the opener was broken. TV didn't work. Cockroaches in room, room was ok, but the matresses and beds are about a hundred years old. Was told to turn out the light whilst in the toilet at night. Very , depressing, it ruined my 9 nights , I could not get any money back, so I could not leave as apparently no refunds no matter what it's like. Also, there was no milk in the fridge, and I was told by the owner that this only happens in motels No one approached me to do any cleaning the whole time. Don't go there with the current owner

• andrea (8/5): Hidden gem - Loved it was quiet, trees present, close to town, far away from the hustle. Not that I didn't like it, but I think my unit wasn't aired out enough? Might have been closed up for long duration? Smelt very mouldy or damp? I brought some air freshener to assist. Nothing a solution couldn't fix. Overall a great stay. Thank you.

• Walsh (3/5): - Beautiful gardens and natural surroundings Bed bugs, uneven flooring,rugs that caused a trip hazard,slippery surface in the shower,no shower mat or hand hold. We left early. Bathroom and toilet were in a separate building. Hot water needed tokens that were delivered on our second day. No one to meet us when we arrived ,however a key in the door

• Denise (6/5): Quaint no frills kiwi campsite - Rustic. Peaceful. Relaxed. This is not a five star resort. It's basic with a lovely lady who keep it clean. Beds were comfy. Furnishing and linen a little dated and worn but they do the job. Location close to sea with lovely bush hill next to site. Plenty of indoor space for those camping. Large communal kitchen. Would not stay there in peak season as I think the amenities would struggle to cope with a full campsite. Grounds take awhile to drain after rain.

Still close enough to walk everywhere. Friendly staff. Room was spacious for our family. Comfy beds. Large fridge with kitchen necessities. Nails sticking out of patio furniture was a bit of a hazard.

• Amie (8/5): Classic old skool get away - I liked the away-from-it-all feel. The campground was quiet, small, had a few classic kiwi-styled cabins, grassy areas for tents, a cool kitchen and hangout area, surrounded by trees, a river, and the beach across the road. It was totally old-skool, so it is not possible to give it full ratings but if you know that you are rocking up to a groovy, old-fashioned kiwi campground then you'll be happy with this place. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. I liked that I could kayak down the river from the edge of the garden and take a 2 minute walk to the beach. I'll go back again :)

• Yared (6/5): I loved the place but there are some details to improve. - I loved the place I had been there before, I love the location and the green areas. Well I had been there before and the previous experience was amazing some years ago, the cabin really clean (no spiders or dust) and also there was some kayaks that we used and it was the best experience going in the kayaks to the ocean from the river, but this time when I arrived at 2 pm I had to wait for half an hour to check in and then the cabin was full of spiders and dust and no kayaks. Also when I wanted to had a shower I had to wait for someone for a long time and it was in the office times.

Room for vehicle parking Lovely staff Quite pricey for the value. One room appears nicely updated but other one not so much. Old bar soap in the shower. Lots of bugs and cobwebs, felt nervous to sleep. Especially with no bug spray in room. If we were staying more than one night would have got some. One bed quite hard, Curtains bit short to cover windows.

The herd of elephants that were above us at 7am each morning. The camp ground didn’t have a good vibe. Not like your average campground where there’s kids running round and facilities like a pool. For close to 200 a night this place was not up to standard.

• Joel (3/5): Poor - Check in was easy, the cabin was quite spacious This thing is massively overpriced. I paid 124$ per night (one night). For that money I got a four star hotel in Wellington in a very nice location and had bed linen, my own bathroom and free showers and it was much cleaner. Showers cost 2$ per 3 mins. The thing is that this campsite is the cheapest option by far and the next cheaper accommodation would’ve only been 20$ cheaper and a much longer drive. Try to stay elsewhere if you can, this campsite way to expensive for what it is. It’s not even worth half the price.

• Inia (8/5): Apart from the old guy it was great and the lady that runs around cleaning the site is amazing - The unit was very clean and cozy and very peaceful The Guy that looks after the reception was very grumpy at times and especially when you needed his help. He needs to sort his attuite out or leave if he doesn't want to do the job. I did tell him I was not impressed with his attuite towards campers. Also when the office is meant to open he closes it and you have to stand there and keep pushing bell so when he finally comes out of his hole he is all pissed off. This guy needs to leave or go to a customer service course

We needed to buy pillow cases as the cleaner must have been on holidays. Paid $148 for our unit then the owner charged an EXTRA $100 for 2 extra people in a 4 bed unit.
