- Colin (7/5): Meets your needs after a long day on the road. - Good location opposite the local club that serves great food. (Upmarket pub style) Just staying the night after a long day’s travelling, reasonably priced and comfortable. In the morning we grabbed a great coffee and sandwiches from a great little bakery that was also literally across the road. Bit dated but ok.

Handy to shops and eateries. BBQ was an added bonus as well. Very pleasant stay will be back. Nothing we didn’t like as everything was great!

The front door to reception the same. If I hadnt had a booking and it was late in the day I would not have entered tge oremises. The bathroom was ok clean but the shower needed a scrub.

- Robyn (8/5): Convenient central location, quiet and comfortable - I was upgraded from a budget room to a larger family room which was very acceptable. The room was spacious and pleasantly furnished, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of light, even without an overhead light. Continental breakfast was available in the dining room which was a bonus. Television worked well. My room was quiet inspite of the motel's central location. Parking was right outside my room. The Forbes Club over the road offers club style meals. I can't think of anything.

This motel is full of workers! - Nothing ⭐ – The Plainsman Motel We stayed one night at The Plainsman Motel while travelling across Australia with our two small, well-groomed dogs. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The room cost $163 per night, which already felt expensive for a 3-star motel in such a remote location. On arrival at 6pm after an 8-hour drive, we were informed of an additional $25 dog “sanitation fee”, bringing the total to $188. We were told Booking.com had notified us of this charge, which was not true. We paid only because we were exhausted and had no alternatives. The pool was nothing like the photos advertised — dirty, murky, and full of debris and insects. It was completely unusable. Access to the room was via a dirty, spider-lined passageway, and the room itself was unhygienic. Ironically, given the dog sanitation fee, I was concerned about my show dogs picking something up. I laid dog pads over the floor and cleaned the surfaces myself before unpacking. The room was hot and had a strong unpleasant smell. The air conditioner had not been turned on and emitted a foul odour when started, though it did cool the room eventually. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean, but the pillows smelled very bad, so we used our own and slept on top of the sheets. The bathroom was appalling — broken shower screen, stained shower curtain, filthy floor with paint splatters. The white bath mat became dirty after one use due to the state of the floor. Towels were clean. The motel advertises Wi-Fi, but it only works in certain rooms. Guests in the rear rooms effectively have no access, despite paying the same rate. Photos are attached. Booking platforms need to monitor standards more closely, as places like this clearly do not match their advertised condition.

- Nicola (8/5): - Super comfortable beds. Very clean. Decent layout. Friendly staff. Perfect for a place to simply sleep and keep moving first thing in the morning. Great tea/coffee station. Aircons kept the place nice and cool during the heat at night. I know it's tricky to find a space large enough for a family of 6, so the only thing that would have made this place perfect was being able to have 1 room that fit us all rather than needing to book 2. But completely understand that sometimes that's not possible.
