Guest Reviews
- Daniel (6/5): Great location - excellent location not far up the hill. there is a cafe / bar at the foot of the hill and two more 100m down the road. there is no balcony to enjoy the beautiful view, a bench is provided in the undercover car park at the access door.
- JWJ Logan (8/5): Last minute booking which turned out to be excellent for our needs for 2 nights in town of 1770. - Great location near 1770's centre for entertainment, beach front, bars and cafes. Good sized room, basically clean - good for a backpackers' accommodation. Good sized main double bed. Other bedroom had a single. Separate shower/bathroom and WC. Pool fine, but not enticing. Available as a last minute booking. Good comms from the Sovereign team ref access etc. Odd internal decor and fittings, lots of eternal doors into one apartment, badly fitted blinds (although they did work) . Outside patio areas in need of weeding and general looking after. Kitchen basic but functional - full sized frifge/freezer, no cooker - only a microwave or use of an outside communal BBQ (which we didn't try). Parking for more than 1 vehicle not obvious, would be more of a challenge when all units let out.
- Jamie (8/5): - Poor communication. I tried both phone numbers listed asking for some info but didn't receive a reply
- Kerry (6/5): Lovely. Beautiful location. - Very, very clean.
Fantastic views and balcony area. Second bedroom is up a ladder to a mezzanine floor.
Not suitable for small children or older people
- kim (10/5): Stunning - Absolutely beautiful, we where passing through Location
- Peter (9/5): The staff were exceptional -
- Simon (8/5): -
- Peita (6/5): A good little place to stay for the weekend. - Location of the property was excellent. 2-minute walk from the beach and eating. However, unrelated to property the local pub's kitchen closes at 7pm.
Overall, quiet relaxing accommodation.
BBQ facility outside. The floors are slate and very slippery if you have wet feet coming out of the shower. Minimal privacy from the accommodation next door.
The swimming pool needs some maintenance and shade cover is required. Having said that a great little place to sit and enjoy a swim and the view.
- Tyarn (2/5): -
- Michelle (5/5): - Location was great Sheets were stained and the floors sticky
- Joanna (7/5): -
- Stevie (4/5): Poor definitely not a pent house! - Not much view was good Very run down, pool area very tired & toilet outside felt unsafe in parts
- Leanne (10/5): - Location.
Dog friendly Needs aircon in living area.
- Stacey (10/5): Excellent - Close Location to beach, clean, nice area N/a

- Chris (9/5): -
- Joe (6/5): Its ok, but not great - Location, nice pool area, easy parking In Java 1, the mattress, which probably was only double, not even queen size, was well worn and the fact there was no coffee or tea bag supplied was a bit of a poor effort for this price. In any price range, really, these days
- Kemberli (8/5): - Good bed, good sized kitchen & bathroom. Location wise very nice & close to the beach.
Nice & friendly communication Alot of doors, we opened one of the side ones & struggled to get it closed again
- Alana (6/5): - Wonderful views. Property has a cool layout with the loft for added sleeping space. DID NOT like the fact that we had to strip beds and do most of the work a cleaning crew should have. That should be more clear in the description.
- neil (1/5): Mistakes happen, but no follow-up. - As my partner said: the good news it’s a lovely well appointed apartment. We were emailed that the property was available earlier than standard check in. When we arrived it had not been cleared, very sandy, beds not changed, toilet not cleaned (or flushed). We left message on voicemail, and through booking.com. No reply, even now, 4 days later. We found another place and need to make sure we get £ back.
- Barbara (8/5): -
- Beryl (7/5): - Location perfect for an overnight stay Before leaving we had to strip our own beds and leave all laundry together for the cleaners to pick up , never done that before and paying what we paid was not worth it sadly
- Teresa (8/5): - Loved the decor and it was lovely and quiet in a beautiful spot.

- kylie (10/5): -
- Brad (9/5): -
- Pauline (3/5): Terrible - I paid for luxury got below budget and a sore back - Location Bed past it’s useby date, pillows more for show than comfort, no insulation so heard footsteps and toilet flush of neighbour, dusty throw on lounge, remote not working
- Andrew (10/5): Hidden gem! - Great location, beautiful romantic room, close to food, pubs, beach, sunsets across the water are wonderful! Recommend, 10/10
- Leanne (8/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): Great accommodation- we will be staying here again for sure - Unbelievable location. Great views
- martin (10/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): Weekend getaway - Location and views are superb. The penthouse is homey and quirky, and master bed is super comfortable. The property manager was a challenge to get hold off - they are not managed from the site, but overall amazing stay. Highly recommended.
- Tanya (10/5): Always excellent - The cleanlyness, extra comfortable bed and pool. The Soverign it wonderful we stayed here 10 years ago and it is still great. No coffee or tea satchels.
- Shelley (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful suite, very private with shared outdoor facilities. Self contained for extended stay.
- Malcolm (6/5): Quiet, pleasant, great location. After reading other reviews we were happy with the Lombok unit. - Great location. Curtains were see through from outside when lights were on! Luckily we were the only ones staying there, even though when booking we were advised it was the last room available. The view is not as incredible as described. The stunning view was probably there 10 years ago and is not visible from inside the accommodation.
- Lalaine (9/5): Superb -
- Warren (7/5): Good -
- Kirsten (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheryl (8/5): Very good - Designated car park
- Cochrane (4/5): Disappointing -
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional -

- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Quirky, great location, beautiful views Not so sure about the main bathroom being outside
- Gayle (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (7/5): Good -
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (5/5): Great location - poorly maintained property with no BBQ and limited facilities. Way overpriced for what it is - Location is great - close to 1770 beaches Kitchen lacked basic amenities - no pot, no toaster. Limited utensils. Infested with ants in kitchenette and rear door. No BBQ facilities even though organized. No communication from property - either via booking.com or SMS - when issues with noisy neighbours or trying to locate bbq. Overpriced and poorly maintained
- Sarah (8/5): - Loved the location as nice and quiet and right by the beach and a couple of bars and restaurants. Nice pool and nice big room. Nice and clean. Would stay again.
- Laura (8/5): A very comfortable and enjoyable stay with spectacular views. - We had a really wonderful stay in the penthouse unit. Spectacular views and great facilities. 2 bathrooms was a bonus.
The location is great and the unit and balcony were very spacious and comfortable.
The kitchen had everything we needed and the shared bbq and pool area was lovely. The lighting was quite poor- A few lightbulbs were missing and there was no functional lighting on the balcony which impacted our use in the evenings.
The loft ladder would benefit from a rail of some kind for safety and support going up/down.
Due to the layout of the premises you do hear a lot from the other people staying there.
- Kalokerinos (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning property and location.
- Sarah (8/5): - We had the standard room which was nice and big with seperate dining and kitchen area with fridge and microwave but no cooker. Bed was comfy and big with nice clean linen. The furnishings and lamps were very dusty tho but everywhere else fairly clean with the exception of the outside of the fridge which was well used and quite dirty especially the handle but I think this was just because it was old. Although the ad says partial or sea view you can’t really see the sea due to the trees the garden however is very pretty with lots of Buddhas. The location is spot on for the beach and small marina and a couple of cafes in walking distance including the sunset bar which was never open disappointingly or when it was it was never open at sunset which is strange considering the name! The LARC tour nearby is great to do. It was very quiet when we went infact I think we were the only guests so it was great but there is only a few rooms so would never get crowded. The pool area is lovely and nice clean pool. Great price for what you get. I would recommend. Didn’t see any staff or owners whilst we were there but they do send email with clear checkin instructions. I did email the property whilst there but didn’t get a reply, maybe it went into their junk folder!
- Catherine (8/5): Was a great spot, and would stay again. - Excellent location, very clean apartment and comfy bed. Being on a lower floor apartment , can hear the kids running around upstairs which caused for a very uncomfortable last night. Could hear the toilets flushing upstairs as well. Also no coffee in the room?
- Emma (7/5): . - Location and affordability .
- Samantha (5/5): Unfortunately not worth the money - Handy location. Clean.
Able to do 1 night stay over Easter period.
Issue with a barking dog was dealt with swiftly by management Dated decor. TV not working. Complimentary milk was out of date. Noise from upstairs apartment guests very audible. Not very wide parking for a large ute
- Jodie (6/5): Pleasant - The view Needs some maintenance & spring cleaning
- Anna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nigel (6/5): Good location but wouldn’t stay in ground units again. - No privacy screen between units 3 &4.
Unit 3 very noisy from people walking around, flushing toilet and showering.
Bed on one side had huge sag in it. Very uncomfortable.
Unit very clean, staff friendly and helpful.
Pet friendly.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
- Gailene (7/5): Easy and streamlined experience. - White towels have stains on them - new towels needed. First place we have ever stayed that doesn’t have coffee & tea facilities.
- Julia (8/5): Very good -
- Nial (7/5): Ok apart from the above - 78 year olds don't easily go up a ladder especially at night as no ensuite for second bedroom. Tv didn't work or mezzanine aircon☹️
- Tori (7/5): Overall nice place to stay and relax. - Great beach side location! Nice decor. Great that it’s dog friendly! Only one parking space so other people had to park behind you. No tea or coffee provided. Beach towels would also have been nice. No staff manned at the property either.
- Oddbjorn (9/5): Superb -
- Boyd (8/5): Very good -
- Darryn (10/5): - Very quirky layout that worked really well. Wonderful view and the interior space was much bigger than the photos suggested. Definitely stay again.
- Tanya (2/5): - We booked this property same day while we’re in Gladstone. Arrived to check in and no staff.
Received a confirmation email and a text - place looked deserted. Office closed up and no one answering mobile or office number and mail jammed in the door. Called Expedia and they couldn’t get anyone either. Waited for over and hour past check in time and then had no choice but to find somewhere else to stay. Ended up driving 3 hours to Hervey Bay. No problem with them taking the money though. Hardly any mobile coverage in the area. Absolutely disgraceful. $414 gone.
- Janenne (7/5): Good - Lovely location, comfortable room - would definitely stay there again.
- Maureen (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful
Minor maintenance needed around pool
- Adelle (6/5): Okay - Location Needed an upgrade and there were dead insects everywhere
- Janelle (8/5): - Great location.
- Amber (9/5): It’s was a beautiful place and we will be back. -
- Clive (6/5): - I wouldnt stay there again
- Angela (6/5): Location is the plus! - JAVA room-
Fantastic location to this beautiful beach!
Parking outside room, spacious accommodation with, fully sized fridge, pool on site.
Easy walk down a hill to a local relaxed restaurant.
The beach is right there to join others with camping chairs, wine and food to watch the sunset. The room needed some overall TLC.
Mainly the large amount dust, spiders, cobwebs around headboard; under/behind looked to be the longterm residents in this room.
We remade the bed and slept with our heads at the other end!
- Mark (6/5): - Wotif, messed up the booking but the remote agents went out of their way to arrange an additional bed. Property is a great location close to the water and restuarant.
- Peter (3/5): Disappointing - Location Couldn’t access single bed as it was unsafe climbing ladder and mezzanine area unsafe for toddler. Main bathroom outside and was raining heavily to access at night. Not safe for toddlers. Had to climb narrow ladder to access bedroom. Very dusty throughout. Poor response from owner to get information.
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): Fantastic place, highly recommend. - Exceptional room, very spacious. Great location. Mattress was sagging
- Sundeep (1/5): Bad - Nothing!!!!! there was no human touch, they don't even want to talk to you, all the automated messages.
Outside property Bbq area not cleaned not tidy worst was some sort of Alarm just going off whole night such an inconvenience after paying ridiculous amount of money per night.it was the worst stay ever..never coming back or recommending it.. Nothing!!!!! there was no human touch, they don't even want to talk to you, all the automated messages.

- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (1/5): Would not recommend this place- certainly not value for money. It is in need of TLC!!! - Not Much No personal access to someone when we needed them to fix a problem!!! Alarms going off!!!! Things banging in the. night all night long and we could no contact anyone to resolve the matters.
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -
- Leisa (4/5): Great location but the smell.of the room was foul , I wouldn't stay again - Pool area was beautiful Room had a disgusting musty smell , needed to use a full can of deodorant to try to make it bearable.
- Nicky (7/5): Nice for a short stay - Beautiful pool - very close to the Marina and beach A little more TLC should be given to the room, looks like it had been shut up for quite some time - cob webs, dust etc
- Sarah (7/5): Good - No info about the area's restaurants, map of the area. Only tour information
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gavin (1/5): Place has a feel of significant long term neglect - Location good Smelly room & noisy alarm on the pool. Can here upstairs heavy footsteps
- Meghan Kate (8/5): - I really liked the layout, the location is great and property is wonderful with a pool, great sleeping layout and size. Very kind and polite manager.
There were some general maintenance issues that do need attention however, such as flickering lights in bathroom, very dirty dishwasher that is no longer cleaning the dishes adequately, dirty freezer in one fridge and another fridge did not have a working freezer so need to be careful from a food safety perspective. An outdoor chair was fraying so need replacing and there was a chair missing in the inner dining table.
There is no washing facility, so couldn't clean clothes and this was an oversight of mine as I was expecting it for this size property and for more duration stays, however would have been nice.
- Robertson (5/5): Passable - Location was great, swimming pool was great Unwelcoming signs threatening fines for non Compliance of simple things. We were expected to sweep the floor and do half the cleaning for them under threat of a fine!
- Irene (10/5): Exceptional -
