It should have a 5 star rating as there is nothing this place doesn’t have. It was like a beautiful home away from home experience in every way. The owners were wonderful and super helpful. The location is right across the road from Woolies and just around the corner from a great pub, Italian Restaurant (try the cabornara pizza yum). We honestly could not fault this place! Amazing!! 👍

The location was directly across the road from a Woolworths and a 450m walk to the George Town parkrun which we did on Sat morning. Gated accommodation with all of the comforts of home - Netflix, air con/heat pump, recliners, full kitchen, and all exceptionally clean. Everything you could need, just bring your suitcase and food. Lovely hosts in Maureen & Raj. Definitely recommend, and will return again.

It has a nice ares including a sitting room and a kitchen with a full size fridge, stove and microwave . The owners are lovely and go out of their way to make sure you know how everything works in the unit.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Stay at Charles Robbie for the vineyard tour - We enjoyed the very welcoming and warmest hospitality stay here. We got a spacious suite, if you come to Tasmania for a vineyard tour in the north, definitely come and stay a night in George Town here. We visited 2-3 cellar doors first, stayed at Charles Robbin for a night and visited another 3-4 vineyard in the next day. Great location, just 15-20 mins drive to the vineyard and Hillwood for strawberries pick. 1 minute walking to the supermarket, we brought some stuff and cook at the suite and drink the wine we bought from the vineyards. The room is spacious, full cooking set, washing machine, and surprisingly there is a sauna in the bathroom. I will highly recommend this accommodation for everyone come to the vineyard tour in north of Tasmania.

The only disappointing feature was because it was straight after Christmas, making contact with reception was difficult. In the end I left the key in the foyer because they did not answer the doorbell. Everything else very happy with. I'' avoid Christmas if I come again.

• RRLR (10/5): Fantastic hotel - My wife and I stayed at The Charles Robbins from the 14.07.19 to 21.07.19 and once again had a wonderful time. Previously we had stayed in the Tom Thumb suite which we love but this time we were offered the Integrity suite which we thought we would give a try. Integrity is a great suite with plenty of space and first class accessories. We travelled from England and had a really welcoming reception from our hosts Maureen and Raj when we arrived. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We had food and drink in our suite, which came as standard and extra gifts. This suite has a large amount of space , with a sitting room, kitchen and dining room in one, a double bedroom with extra bed, a bathroom with a large spa bath, shower and toilet and a pamper room! The pamper room has a massage chair with foot spa and mood lighting. I loved this feature and certainly made use of it. There is a toilet and walk in shower in this room. There are fitted bars to help if balance is a problem and a seat in the shower. The accommodation is really clean. The spa bath and plug are sterilised between each guest. There is a washing machine plus tumble drier just outside the room in the hall which was very useful and the site offers secure, gated parking. We can highly recommend the Integrity suite and The Charles Robbins as it is the perfect place to unwind after spending the day exploring Tasmania and once again Maureen and Raj were the perfect hosts making us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back.

• B1RD1EMelbourne (10/5): A World Traveller Finds Another Home - I travel for business and have lots of favourite places that I prefer. Launceston was nearly fully booked due to the annual Agfest Farm field days so I looked a little further away and found this gem. First I read many reviews, all were great, I emailed Maureen and asked if there was room for my Landcruiser with large trailer, the "yes" was the first step. Reviews mentioned comfortable beds, that was the second step with a big tick. The arrival was as expected but more, there is so much to offer , Raj guided me through all of the features one by one. The free items: many bottles of water, ample pods for the coffee maker and more. The fully equipped kitchen has oven, induction hotplate, microwave, washing machine and a huge amount of cutlery . This apartment was named the Phoenix and had two recliner lounges, small dining table, all in a large room with the kitchen. It has quality Panasonic split systems in both rooms. The bathroom has all of the great features such as fluffy towels and quality everywhere. Then there is also an infrared Sauna, complete with radio. Wine is low priced as per bottle shops and even a flask of Port, complete with an invitation to sample it gratis. The location is just off the main street and a very quiet location. I appreciate that Raj and Maureen have placed lots of detail into the Five Suites and believe that this wonderful place will have me return as soon as my business travels allow.

• BarryT460 (10/5): Very Special, Luxury Accommodation when Visiting the Tamar Valley. - We stayed in the Tom Thumb King Spa Suite and it was lovely. Fully equipped kitchen with lots of little extras like the coffee machine and mini-bar (at supermarket prices, not over-priced). Beautiful bathroom with lots of devine extras. BBQ and outdoor setting on the patio and inside two super comfy recliner rockers to sit, relax watch TV or just chill. And the bed, huge king with beautiful sheets and it was so super comfortable we slept in the first day. Good location around from the main street and hotels, shops restaurants and a supermarket directly over the road if you want to just cook in the room. River on the other side. We thoroughly enjoyed it and George Town was a nice spot to base ourselves to explore the area. Maureen and Raj are lovely hosts. Thank you.

Located in the center of town, The Charles Robbins offers a choice of exquisitely furnished apartments and amenities that we considered were second to none, having previously stayed in a number of accommodation options in George Town over the years.Our stay was a delightful and rewarding experience that we have no hesitation in highly recommending to any discerning traveler We take this opportunity to thank our friendly hosts, Raj and Maureen, for their attention to detail to ensure our stay and experience was first class. • Trevor-BonnieB (8/5): Great place to stay let down by attention to detail - We booked this accomodation through a tourist information centre. We wanted to stay in Launceston but as it was a long weekend and the AFL was on this was the closest they could get us for 2 couples. It was also the most expensive that we stayed at, $165 and $170 a night for 4 nights. We had 2 adjoining suites which were big and comfortable. The extra $5 a night seem to be for the fancy color-changing lights as we could see no other differences. While this was not a B&B some breakfast provisions were provided. As I said it was very comfortable and had lots of gadgets and things but there were some little things that let it down. For instance the small packets of cereal provided and the coffee satchels were out of use-by date ( the coffee over 12 months). I went to use the music system, it would not work and when I went to check the battery in the remote the battery was corroded to the extent that I doubt that the remote would work even with a new battery. Our friend went to use the Iron and it splatted rusty water, fortunately, on to the ironing board. Obviously water had been left in the iron for some time. When you are providing luxury accommodation these things should be checked.

It's in the centre of historic George Town and a scenic walking path goes past the property . I appreciated the free internet, soft drinks, real coffee and fresh milk, not to mention the sauna. • Ellen (10/5): Total luxury without the high price tag - Our luxurious, fully self contained one-bedroom apartment was so much better than we had expected. I was only sorry that our itinerary included just one night in George Town, because The Charles Robbins had everything anyone could possibly want for a comfortable few days. As well as being within easy walking distance of a fine hotel, it is also well located for experiencing what the north-east of Tasmania has to offer, including the great food and wine of the Tamar Valley.

Raj and Maureen made us feel very welcome and the apartment was stylishly appointed. Great value for money. The bathroom even had a sauna! Hosts Raj and Maureen were delightful going to extreem lengths to ensure our stay was memorable. Raj is an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to meet. Thank you for a perfect stay.
• JOHN (10/5): I would highly recomend the Chares Robbins. - We stayed two nights. The room was excellent. Very clean and nicely decorated. Everything worked well. Raj sowed us how to operate all of the systems including the sauna, which we did not use but it looked nice. There was wine and beer available for purchase at very reasonable prices. The same price as a bottle shop not marked up like the big hotel chains do. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked in both nights.
• Robyn (10/5): Restful Hotel near the water - Wonderfully well appointed hotel - Raj and Maureen have thought of everything. Located within walking distance of the main street and all of its facilities or access the waterfront walking track immediately in front of the unit. The unit is fully self contained - you can cook or wander to a number of different cafes, hotels and supermarket. A must, is a walk along the waterfront pathway so don't forget your walking shoes.
• Jan (10/5): Great hotel to stay at. - This hotel is a lovely and luxurious place to put your feet up and relax. The rooms are equiped with everything you could want.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Private, everything you need - This town house like motel was fitted with everything you would ever need, great for a long stay to use as a base to see nearby attractions.
• Rhondda (8/5): George Town on the River - Comfortable, good location, room had everything, attention to detail extraordinary
• Emi (10/5): Hidden treasure in George Town - The Charles Robbins was a happy surprise to me and a friend. It exceeded beyond our expectations. The lounge room is spacious with two super comfortable reclining chairs, the kitchen is fully equipped ( even a half dozen spices!), the bedroom has a Queen and a single beds, the bathroom has a spa and shower. Everything you need is there to be used and are good quality and new. We felt we were at home. If you are staying in George Town, just go to The Charles Robbins.
• Rosie (10/5): My favourite place for respite and quiet luxury. - Lovely soothing walk along the promenade close by, significant little museum about Bass Strait close by. Town is flat, easy to ride around on a motor scooter, or if mobility is a bit challenged. Short walk to the beautiful tapestries in the foyer of the Town Hall. Counter meals at the pub OK;Or just stay at your accommodation and relax - have a spa, sit in the garden with some wine and book and watch the boats go by. Its just a peaceful safe little haven!
